Sewing Adventure ... I do like a little sewing challenge so when I received a link to an Udemy sewing class from 'Adventurous Son Number One' asking if I could “help” him make the Mountain Flyer Ultra Light Backpack I gave it a whirl. 
My computerised Brother and modern day Singer really didn't enjoy the waterproof fabric and multiple layering and so I turned to a proper old girl with a bit more more strength and experience for the job - a Singer 317 dating back to the 1960s. The course notes and fantastic video instructions by designer Stephen Jones on Udemy were simply brilliant and his Bag Buff Facebook Group was such a help for sourcing materials and checking out my progress along the Mountain Flyer sewing journey. 
I really am pretty chuffed with the end result and it is all ready for its maiden voyage with "Adventurous Son Number One" ❤️
With around 12 hours of sewing and pretty expensive waterproof XPac fabric, this is not going to be finding its way into Trashcan Emporium's little online shop but I have to confess I really enjoyed "helping" to make it!
