Done with “Sonic” now and gotta say now that was a real fun movie! I’m really liking what they’ve done with it, and intrigued to see what they are going to do in the future (I’ve already heard the second movie was betterthan the first one, and the first one was already fun, so I have high hopes for the next movie now!)

I really liked that there obviously has gone a lot of thought and love into this one, such as: 

The way they really depict Sonic as a kid, a boisterous and energetic and curious but ultimately lonely kid, so it makes a whole lot of sense when he sometimes gets too enthusiastic or passionate about things, or how he can’t always see the danger in his actions.

The way Tom and Maddie are so obviously good people that they even only have a minor freakout over a big talking blue hedgehog before they settle down and go “hey this is a kid who needs help, so f*ck it, we gonna help!”

Just, generally, loving the Doctor Robotnik Jim Carrey gave us, 11/10 (even if he is a little darker than the one kid-me remembers), and really digging whatever he and Agent Stone have going here. They had me snorting.

Just, generally, really fun and heartfelt movie with great characterization. I’m really looking forward to the second movie!

(Which I’ve already ordered the DVD of, after realizing that buying the DVD actually costs less than watching it in the cinema. RIP cinemas in my country.)

I’m like half an hour into the first Sonic movie and I love two things a whole lot about it right now:

How extremely obvious it is - without being annoying- that Sonic is an excitable KID (with superpowers)

How Jimmy Carrey is simply the perfect Robotnik and I never could have imagined it

Sevi have you seen the "Baby Sonic" deleted scene.

I decided to watch sonic 2 and got the two for one blue ray and decided to check out the deleted scenes and...

under-rendered Sonic will haunt my nightmares.

To be fair though – under-rendered baby Sonic is still not as bad as the first design for Sonic they had for the movies? Like, THAT still haunts me sometimes. *shudder*
