Whipped and tired but happy to be in the water in February. ⠀ ⠀ I never really thought about it before but crossing the equator makes it possible to ski or surf any time of year. Or whatever it is you like to do that's seasonal. It's always winter or summer somewhere.⠀Have you ever had luck flipping something on it's head? ⠀ The beaches in Pichilemu fill up by mid-day. The high tide makes them nice and snug and the vendors pick their way through the crowds selling everything from buckets and shovels to fruit on a stick. It was great to see so many families out enjoying themselves. ⠀ ⠀ Our time in Pichilemu was too short. I look forward to coming back and really getting to enjoy these waves. We made it out to Pichilemu, the surf capital of Chile. It was a quick 48 hour scouting trip to see what this storied town had to offer. ⠀ ⠀ We checked into our hostel, went out to survey the surf shops and picked the one we liked best. Within the hour, the whole city lost power. Fortunately by evening it was restored and we didn't have to resort to headlamps. The next day we rented boards, wet suits and boots and did our best to make some magic happen.⠀ ⠀ Despite the choppy conditions (and being out of practice) I managed to stand up on a few waves.
