Admitting this somewhat grudgingly, but I think the scene with Bum's uncle was... perhaps not a true hallucination, but more of a very intense daydream.

Because while I wouldn't put it passed Seungbae to contact Bum's uncle because he think he's "helping" (even though Bum is an adult), it just doesn't seem to fit with the timing that he reached out to Bum's uncle just then. Seungbae has always been focused on catching a killer versus protecting a victim, and right now he think he's finally got his man, but has run into difficulties making other people believe it too. He only has Detective Lee on his side (at least tentatively, for now). I doubt, in the midst of all this, he decided to find and contact Bum's next of kin. It just doesn't quite feel right.

While having Bum experience this "dream" still indicates a positive shift in his thinking, I'm somewhat disappointed (if this all turns out to be true), just because I desperately want to see Sangwoo react to Bum taking control, which Sangwoo has been trying to get Bum to do all along and what failed to take hold during/after the murder of Jieun. I don't see Bum volunteering this information now, but if the scene with his uncle really happened, leaving blood on the floor, I could see Sangwoo questioning Bum about it and finding out what happened that way - and that's what I think we'll miss out on if the confrontation did in fact only take place in Bum's mind.

Have you ever considered what would happen if Sangwoo got caught/killed. The way I see it, Bum could maybe get some help or actually end up in a mental institution cause he'd no longer be able to function without Sangwoo. He loves him and is very dependent on him. Just a thought anyway and would like to hear your thoughts.

I think about this a lot! Personally, I’m of the opinion that a “murder husbands”-esque ending for Bum is NOT the worst case scenario, especially after Jieun’s murder. Sangwoo right now is doing what he thinks will “help” Bum - help him take control of his life, in a sense.

Absent Sangwoo, what does Bum really have to return to? His life was pretty miserable; he had no friends or family, job that we know of, he was abused by his uncle - he didn’t even truly feel happy when stalking Sangwoo. I personally don’t ship SeungBum and I don’t think that an ending where Seungbae connects with Bum, romantically or in a more fatherly role, is realistic given Seungbae’s characterization.

Yes, Bum could conceivable receive psychiatric care, but who’s to say that doesn’t somehow lead to him back in his uncle’s care, since he seems to be the next of kin? On top of that, he’d probably have to deal with a situation like you’ve described - as someone who has been in an abusive relationship, during times when my ex and I were “broken up” I definitely donned my rose-colored glasses re: our relationship lol.

Obviously SangBum forever isn’t a “happy” ending and would lead to Bum having a host of other problems to deal with, but I don’t think KS is meant to have that kind of an ending, and it would make sense given the way the story has been set up thus far.
