My shoulders and upper back tend to be the areas that need the most work with regards to strengthening. . I'm just three weeks I've seen such improvements with these reverse flys! Week one I literally had to use NO WEIGHT and I was dying.. Last week I could use 5# for half the sets and this week I rocked those 5# dumbbells for EVERY single set! . I started this journey to get "wedding ready" and to be ready for the honeymoon on the beach. It has become SO much more now that I can see and feel the changes. . The beginning was a tough, I'm not going to lie. Changing my relationship with food and getting into a good mindset to crush hard workout was an adjustment but now it's like second nature! . I don't deprive myself of foods I want - I always have a snickers on deck! I don't obsess with counting calories or anything of that nature. Its a lifestyle change to make healthier decisions BUT it doesn't mean you can't enjoy the things you like. . You ready? Have you tried time and time again to like black coffee but it just doesn't work? ☕ . Girl, SAME! I went from all the cream and sugar.. To skim milk and sugar.. To just sugar (.. But like a lot).. Then tried to go to black from there and it just never worked. . I read somewhere that putting cinnamon into your black coffee will take out the bitterness and make it more enjoyable! . In January I decided that I was finally going to do this! And guess what.. I did!.. I don't even need cinnamon anymore (but it is tasty!) . Sometimes starting new habits is hard but you just need to adjust and try it from different angles to find what works best for you! Alright y'all, this #WCW goes out to myself! I have come a long way in the last few months. I've evolved not only physically but mentally as well. Same sports bra and bathing suit bottoms but I'm down 7 pounds and about 8 inches total. More than the numbers, I have more energy, focus, confidence and that's just the short list! I have repeatedly proven to myself that I can do hard things and I can make big changes. . . I'm not where I want to be yet but I'm making strong, steady progress towards that. Feel good Friday! I'm super excited about this post. I have finally built up enough strength to do regular push ups! I used to only be able to do them on my knees (not "girly" push ups because if you'll notice above 👆🏻 girls can do push ups too 😜). If you had told me a few months ago that I'd be able to do these (and this many in a row) I would've laughed in your face! . . We all make excuses as to why we "can't" workout. For example, I'm lucky enough to have a gym in my basement. Said basement is also about 50 degrees on any given day. Now I could totally say "it's way too cold to head down there today.. Maybe it'll be warmer tomorrow." But I choose to look at this obstacle and think up a solution. I bundle up and put my space heater on until I'm warmed up from beasting through my workout! . . We all make decisions every single day that can change our lives. Why not make the decision to take 30-60min for yourself to better your physical and mental health? I achieved a non-scale victory this morning! I used to dump sugar into my coffee... Like a ridiculous amount. I have tried so many times over the years to drink black coffee and I never could stomach the taste. . . When I started my 80 day challenge I decided I was not going to use sugar in my coffee anymore. I started using cinnamon and it's been delicious! This morning I tried just black coffee to see if my taste buds have adapted... and to my surprise, it was good! . . You can do anything set your mind to. Fun fact: day one of this program I wasn't able to do this move. I didn't have the coordination nor the strength. I used modifications until I was strong enough to do them.
