I developed this hc on the SVU discord server that's too good not to share:
One day, a season or 2 into the future, the squad and their fam, plus the Stabler clan, Jet, Ayanna and her wife, are all over at Liv and Elliot's new house when Noah (in the midst of a nerf gun phase) starts an impromptu Nerf Gun Battle.
Carisi is weirdly a really good shot w a nerf gun. And Amanda, who's normally the best shot in the squad, is crap at it. At least at first.
Everyone splits off into teams. Team Bensler, Team Rollisi, Team Fin and Phoebe, Team Ayanna and her wife, Team Kat and her girlfriend, Team Girls (Jet, the Stabler girls, Jesse and Billie), and Team Boys (Dickie, Eli, Noah, and Maureen's husband).
Fin and Phoebe are the first to get knocked out. Fin's all like "I'm too old for this shit." Ayanna and her wife are next followed by Kat and her girlfriend.
Team Bensler and Team Rollisi agree to a temporary alliance to take out Team Girls and Team Boys since it's 4 against 10.
Amanda and Elliot are insanely competitive so they go full Rambo at take out Jet, Kathleen, Lizzie, Dickie, Maureen's husband, Eli, and Jesse in one go.
Billie attempts pull the daddy's girl card on Carisi, but he doesn't fall for it and takes her out.
Liv takes Noah out cuz she gets weirdly into it too. He's all like "Mom! I'm your sweet boy!" And she's like "Nope, sorry. Not today bud." and pulls the trigger taking him out.
It's down to 4 against 1. Maureen is the sole survivor of the kids. No one expected her to be so good. But she's still no match for a NYPD captain, a Marine, a Southerner, and a cop turned ADA.
Now that the kids are out, the alliance is over. It's Benson and Stabler vs Rollins and Carisi. The Battle of the Partners Turned Lovers.
Carisi gets taken out first by Liv. Elliot follows shortly after being ambushed by Amanda.
It's down to Liv vs. Amanda now.
Amanda thinks she's got the win in her pocket bc she knows shes the best shot in the squad. But her cockiness is what ruins her in the end. She forgets that there's a reason Olivia is a legend.
Liv sets up a trap and Amanda walks right into it. Using one of Noah's toys, she makes Amanda trip. Amanda's gun flies out of her hand. Liv steps out of the shadows, kicks the gun out of Amanda's reach. Lines the nerf gun up for the shot, execution style. Then says her iconic line "You're My Bitch Now!" and pulls the trigger.
(Elliot's in the background laughing his head off bc he was there when Liv said her iconic line)
Liv is crowned "Queen of Nerf Guns" while Elliot looks on proudly w a smirk that says "My girl's a Badass".
After that, the squad learns never to mess w Liv and Elliot when they're in Benson and Stabler mode. And also to never mess w Liv when she's holding a nerf gun.

Oori Korean Restaurant Opens at Sheraton Manila
Oori Korean Restaurant recently opened its doors last January 27, 2020 at the Sheraton Manila in Newport City. This upscale dining establishment is definitely not your typical samgyupsal place. It is actually a two-concept Korean outlet featuring a casual bibimbap bar and a more sophisticated barbecue restaurant serving high quality wagyu and meats.
You can find Oori Korean Restaurant at the second floor of Sheraton Manila. This is the third dining establishment that opened inside the hotel after its all-day dining buffet restaurant, S Kitchen and The Lounge Bar. The Hungry Kat was invited to be one of the first guests to experience this new authentic Korean venue and I was more than happy to oblige. Sheraton Manila officially opened last year in January 2019 so this is also a great way for them to celebrate their first anniversary.
Oori literally means “ours” so the restaurant is inspired by the refreshed Sheraton brand of being a gathering place for family and friends. This is the only high-end Korean dining establishment in Resorts World Manila but it is not intimidating at all. The first area you will encounter when you enter the restaurant is the bibimbap bar called Bibimbap by Oori which serves casual Korean favorites. This space has a mix of couches, long tables, and bar seats that can accommodate around 50 guests.
Oori Executive Chef Kibum Park is a Korean native who has much expertise on traditional Korean cooking. Chef Park has several years of flavorful experiences under his sleeves as he previously worked in Cebu before moving to Sheraton Manila. The menu he created at Oori represents the best of authentic Korean cuisine.
Bibimbap by Oori features fast and easy Korean comfort food suited for quick bites and casual lunch breaks. The highlight here, of course, is their assortment of customizable Bibimbap Bowls served with yachae (vegetables) and sauces on the side so you can toss and mix to your preference.
There are several bibimbap toppings to choose from. These are served over steamed rice with a set of vegetables and a soft poached egg. Just choose which items you want to put inside the bowl and mix it together as you please. You can also add their special homemade chili sauce to spice up the flavors. If you don’t feel like mixing the ingredients yourself, you can ask the friendly servers to do it for you, but where’s the fun in that? Each order also comes with two unlimited side dishes which varies daily.
Some of the bibimbap options include Bulgogi Bibimbap (P600) which has sweet soy sauce marinated beef for its topping. You can also try the Hoe or Fresh Sashimi Bibimbap (P550), and the Jeyuk or Spicy Marinated Pork (P600). Most of the ingredients are imported from Korea, including the rice, so it's as authentic as you can get.
Chef Park also made sure to include a special variant that he made only for the Philippines, the Sisig Bibimbap (P600). This comes with sisig-inspired ingredients like crunchy chicharon. You might even catch Chef Park preparing your orders at the restaurant’s live cooking bibimbap bar.
Aside from the bibimbap, there are other dishes you can find here as well. The Dakgangjung (P370) is Korean fried chicken cooked with a sweet and spicy sauce. This would go really well with your bibimbap rice. As an opening treat, guests can get a free bingsu dessert for every two orders of Bibimbap classic until the end of February.
If you are looking for a more sophisticated dining experience, then head further inside the restaurant where you will find its second concept featuring an upscale Korean grill. This area can seat 100 persons with its mix of communal barbecue tables, bar seating, and private dining rooms.
This place is more suited for dinners and longer business meetings where you can work on the grill while enjoying your drinks. The interiors here are made of raw burnt wood and Korean ceramic pots which are actually used to ferment their kimchi.
There are also several semi-private and luxe private rooms with their own personal barbecue stations. These would be great for birthday parties or special occasions as they can accommodate groups of 8 up to 24 persons. Some rooms also come with their own sofas and TV screens.
This semi-private room is where our small group shared a Korean barbecue featuring some of the finest wagyu and meats you can find in any Korean restaurant. This would be our second dinner for the night! Guests dining at the Oori grill area can order from the bibimbap menu as well, but not vice versa.
Let’s start with some of their signature Oori Cocktais or soju-infused creations. The Haengbok (P525) or Happiness cocktail comes with a combination of Jinro 24 soju, lemon juice, fresh banana, mixed berries, sugar syrup, and milk. As another opening promotion, guests can get a free soju cocktail for every order of the Grilled Set Menu.
The Mandu Jeongol (P1400) is a fiery appetizer to jumpstart our taste buds. This rich soup dish has a combination of pork, kimchi, and Korean dumplings which are good for two persons.
Oori boasts of a collection of 16 side dishes or "banchan." Each of these is carefully handmade and served fresh or fermented to its ideal maturity. Their kimchi is stored for 5 days inside the same ceramic pots used as decors around the restaurant. Guests ordering any of the set menus of premium meat will get unlimited servings of five of these banchan which rotate on a daily basis.
The main attraction at Oori Korean Restaurant is definitely the wagyu beef. This is 150 grams of their Australian Mulwarra Wagyu Ribeye A5 (P1700). Just look at the marbling on that beef! Oori offers both Grade 5 and Grade 9 wagyu beef which you surely will not find in other samgyupsal restaurants.
You can cook the delicate wagyu beef on the grill yourself or you can let the servers do it for you. This time, I’ll let the experts do the cooking. They also have a homemade meljorin sauce made from anchovy with soy bean paste that goes perfectly with their grilled meats. Oori uses a state of the art griller which absorbs all of the smoke underneath, so you will not come out of the restaurant smelling like barbecue.
The wagyu absolutely melts in your mouth with every indulgent bite. It is just so tender and flavorful. The meat is served with rice, fresh local lettuce, fresh mushrooms, vegetables, and onion pickle so you can choose how you want to eat it.
Another high-quality meat on the menu is the imported Duroc Spanish Pork which has one of the finest fat marbling in the world. The Duroc Collar (P830) has 150 grams of this prized pork that is also ready for the grill. There are other meat combinations and set menus you can order for bigger groups.
We ended our two-part dinner with bingsu or shaved milk ice desserts. The Mango Bingsu (P450) and the Chocolate Bingsu (P450) can also be shared by two or more persons and these are the perfect ways to cleanse your palate after a luxurious and indulgent Korean barbecue. Oori Korean Restaurant is a new and exciting venue in Resorts World Manila for those with a refined taste for high quality meats. Bring your friend or business partners over and they will definitely be impressed.

Wing Zone Introduces New Filipino Wings
If you are tired of eating the same old chicken wings, then Wing Zone has some new Filipino-style flavors that will surely light up your taste buds. Our favorite sisig and adobo dishes have been combined with Wing Zone’s Original Wings to create two unique and creative variants that you can only find here in the Philippines.
Wing Zone’s new Filipino Wings bring these two classic dishes and fuzes them with their signature chicken wings to create a flavorful combination. Available for only a limited time, the new Savory Adobo and Spicy Sisig Wings are now being offered at both Wing Zone branches in SM Megamall and at Glorietta 2. The Hungry Kat was invited to try these two new specialties last week and it was also my first time to try all the other offerings at Wing Zone.
Wing Zone Philippines opened its first branch in December 2017 at the second level of The Atrium in SM Megamall. This is where my friends and I gathered to sample the different flavors being offered in this casual and modern restaurant with the hip vibe of an American bar. A third and fourth branch will soon open in Araneta Center and SM Mall of Asia.
Wing Zone Philippines is operated by Viva International Food & Restaurants, which is starting to grow its portfolio of restaurant concepts that include Paper Moon, Botejyu, and Pepi Cubano. Matt Friedman and Adam Scott opened their first Wing Zone store in 1995 in Gainesville, Florida, churning out fantastic Buffalo Wings flavors for the concept’s avid followers. Known as Flavorholics, Wing Zone’s focus is on flavor fuzing their menu items, from Burgers to their wide variety of Wings.
I love the relaxing ambiance inside the restaurant, with big screen televisions showing the latest sports and entertainment shows. It’s a great place to meet up with friends, especially with its wide and affordable menu.
With so many different flavors to choose from, 16 in all, it can be a bit intimidating at first, especially for first timers like me. You can ask the friendly servers for suggestions on which flavors to get, depending on your preferences.
You can start with something simple like the House Chicken Salad (P215) which comes in Thai Samurai or Smokehouse variants.
Have some of their Mozzarella Sticks (P225) which are filled with yummy and stretchy cheese, as you can see. These light appetizers are great to nibble on while waiting for you other friends or while watching the games on the screen.
If you prefer meatier starters, then go for the crunchy Breaded Chicken Strips (P240- 8pcs) which are marinated for 24 hours and hand breaded with their signature zesty breading.
Or try the Boneless Bites (P250-8pcs) which come with fresh breast meat lightly breaded upon order, making it crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. We chose to fuze these with two of their milder flavors. The Honey has a Southern flavor with sweet honey and smokey barbeque. On the other hand, the Liquid Gold is a full-flavored version of the traditional honey mustard.
If you can’t decide which flavors to get for your chicken and wings, you can go and spin the wheel and let fate decide what your feast of flavors will be.
But for the holiday season, I suggest you try their limited-edition Filipino Wings which truly brings the flavors of home to Wing Zone. One of them is the Savory Adobo (P195-6pcs) which comes with the flavors of one of our favorite home-cooked dishes. These crispy chicken wings are given the sour and salty taste of the adobo which you will not find in any other chicken wings restaurant.
Another special Filipino variant is the Spicy Sisig which is truly a unique flavor. The sisig has become an ambassador of Filipino cuisine and this is one way of spreading the flavors of this traditional dish. It takes a few bites before you can really taste the sisig flavor but once you find it, you won’t be able to stop.
It comes with a bit of a spicy kick so it is actually better to be eaten with rice! Filipinos eat everything with rice so Wing Zone created combos to bring these new wings and sides together. You can also have them with Crinkle cut Wedge Fries, Flavor Rubbed Wedges, Housemade Kettle Chips, or their new Onion Rings and Jalapeño Poppers.
If you really want to dip your toes into the fire, then try Wing Zone’s Original Wings (P260-8pcs) fuzed with two of Wing Zone’s hottest and most explosive flavors. The Smokin Q is a barbecue smokehouse variant with a serious cayenne kick, while the Nuclear Habanero is pure heat and power packed into your wings. Try these at your own risk.
Its not just wings at Wing Zone, because diners can also choose to order Drumsticks (P160-2pcs) instead. These fresh and skin-cracking chicken drumsticks are flavor fuzed with your choice of flavor. I loved the Sweet Samurai, a traditional Asian flavor with soy honey, ginger, and teriyaki. I actually finished three pieces of these sweet drumsticks.
You can also Build Your Own Burger at Wing Zone! Choose from single or double chicken or beef patties, served on a toasted brioche bun with lettuce, tomato, and onion. I tried the Double Stack Beef Burger (P325) with additional Cheese (+20) and Bacon (+P30) and then fuzed it with Honey.
Finish everything off with the Brownie Ala Mode (P130), a delicious cup of soft and moist chocolate brownies topped with two scoops of Vanilla ice cream. As an added treat, Wing Zone is offering a Rice and Drink All-You-Can promo where guests can get unlimited rice and drinks with their wings, boneless bites, strips, and drumsticks for only P79. Now is definitely the best time to visit Wing Zone, Home of the Flavorholics!

Ibiza Beach Club Opens in Bonifacio Global City
The best of both worlds in dining and entertainment has finally arrived as Ibiza Beach Club opens in Bonifacio Global City. One of Cebu’s most popular and fashionable hotspots has made its way from Mactan to Manila as Ibiza Beach Club brings its vision of a total lifestyle dining experience to Manila's hottest business and lifestyle district. The Hungry Kat was invited to check out this sparkling new dining destination which is destined to be one of the most talked-about venues in the months to come.
Ibiza Beach Club emulates the vibe of Eivissa in Spain, a place where one could let loose while remaining elegant and refined. I had my first Ibiza Beach Club experience during my stay in Mövenpick Hotel Mactan in Cebu a few years ago where I feasted on their Churrasco buffet while partying with drinks and live entertainment. Now, I don’t have to go all the way to Cebu to experience that fun and energetic vibe once again as Ibiza Beach Club BGC opened its doors last April 16, 2017 at the 6th level of the new W City Centre, a 29-storey office tower along 7th Avenue right next to Bonifacio High Street.
The massive 1,000-seater flagship restaurant occupies the entire level and this is by far the biggest and grandest dining and entertainment hub I have ever seen in Manila. Ibiza Beach Club is a brand unique to the Philippines, conceived and established by award-winning vintner, entrepreneur, and prominent tourism player, Manny Osmeña. The 4,000-sqm Ibiza BGC reported cost P300 Million to complete is divided into several sophisticated and stylish sections surrounded by plush seats and enticing lounges with a view of the Center Stage and its outstanding nightly performances.
The vision that is Ibiza Beach Club was embodied and distilled by the country's premier designers - Ivy and Cynthia Almario, Manny Samson and Fred Valdes. These inimitable creative minds forged the brand's unmistakable visual DNA from the vision of Manny O., as he is fondly called. Guest Service Officers are in Cary Santiago, while Service Attendants' uniforms are designed by fashion biggest names as well.
The indoor bar, as well as the restaurant interiors, are designed with clean white and pastel colors, adding to the relaxed and playful ambiance where guests can unwind and chill out during their lunch break or after a tiring workday.
Ibiza BGC also has an al fresco area suited for events and parties, especially with its water features and pool club vibe similar to their Mactan property. While you won’t be able to see the beach from here, the gentle breeze and panoramic view of the city skyline also creates a unique Ibiza atmosphere.
They even have a giant jacuzzi in another area where guests can actually take a dip! Showers and changing rooms are accessible right here so you can jump inside the water and then head over for dinner a few minutes after.
But what sets Ibiza Beach Club apart from other dining venues is the quality of entertainment and themed shows they offer for guests to enjoy while leisurely dining. The restaurant showcases nightly performances by the Ibiza Beach Club Show Team, composed of budding Filipino artists, featuring a 45-minute visual treat with live singing and dancing to retro pop, disco and Latin music, as well as Broadway and movie musical sequences alongside daring exhibitions. A showband, featured artists or DJs also take the stage during evenings. Everyone can chill out to the music as they dine, dance or drink throughout the night until closing time.
With its vision of Lifestyle Dining + Unrivalled Entertainment, Ibiza Beach Club is also an ideal place to host special events and gatherings. Its dynamic team is ready to cater to your needs and make sure every last detail is taken care of when organizing your successful event. All packages can be individually tailored to your requirements, from the essentials to added premiums.
Since we came during lunch time, we were not able to witness their musical performances on Center Stage, but we were there for something even better. Ibiza BGC also brings to Manila the restaurant's Balearic-inspired, Signature 15-Course Grill! This epicurean specialty features an unending array of meat and seafood basted with Balearic sauces and marinades, with a twist of Asian sensibilities from the restaurant’s original secret flavouring.
Little Skyler, also known as The Food Alphabet, Jr., gamely dressed for the occasion and was ready with his Ibiza-inspired beach attire!
We ordered a few beverages and cocktails to make our lunch even livelier. I had the Pineapple, Banana, Apple & Coconut Milk Smoothie (P390) for myself but one of their signature drinks is the Ibiza Sour (P450) which is highly recommended.
The 15-course grill starts with unlimited servings from the Salad Bar. This includes breads like their Pao de Quejo cheese bread, macaroni, and an entire spread of greens and ingredients to complement your plate. You can also opt for a serving of Caesar Salad instead if you want something fancier. This is topped with garlic-anchovy dressing plus parmesan and bacon bits.
The best thing about the 15-Course Balearic Grill at Ibiza BGC is that diners don’t even have to stand up as roving chefs will serve them with freshly cooked, a la minute variety of meat cuts, slicing them off a long skewer and directly onto their plates. The kitchen at Ibiza BGC uses grills from Scheer Brazil, the leading producer of the world's best grills for over 20 years which gives the utmost quality.
Our first course was the grilled Chicken Thigh lined up nicely on the skewer. The chicken was grilled perfectly, with a slight charring outside but tender and juicy meat inside.
The U.S. Angus Fillet Mignon was a sight to behold with its salty bacon strips rolled over flavorful Angus beef. It’s impossible to have just one piece so I asked the server for a few more rounds after he finished serving the others.
Seafood is also part of the 15-course grill and it starts with some grilled Salmon and Jumbo Prawns that everyone was raving about. I love prawns so this menu is really so good for me because I can have everything I want without even having to leave the table.
Other seafood items included were the Calamari and the Catch of the Day which for today was Parrot Fish. You don’t have to eat all of the dishes offered, but everything is just so delicious and it will be difficult to resist getting all of them.
The meats are still the favorites at the Signature 15-Course Grill and you can also have Baby Back Ribs and Beef Short Ribs, to name a few. The menu is extensive so make sure to allot a couple of hours for lunch or dinner to enjoy this Balearic-inspired feast.
The New Zealand Lamb Chops were also one of the favorites as these are served hot off the grill. The lamb is not gamey at all and one of my friends (ehem, Mr. Jeng) even finished four whole servings of these.
But the highlight of any buffet or smorgasbord is always the steak. The U.S. Angus Ribeye Steak is simply outstanding as the server cuts off slice after slice of tender and flavorful beef. If you like your steak more well done, then ask to be served the outer layers with its seared portions. But if you want your steak rare then go for the inner parts with its reddish meat.
A welcome change from all the grilled meats is the Crispy Pork Belly with its deep fried pork belly served with soy sauce. This Filipino classic always gets the job done wherever it is served.
For those who want something exotic, have some of the Ostrich Meat which is served somewhat rare. Ostrich meat is low in cholesterol so it is actually a healthier alternative to beef. If you haven’t eaten ostrich meat yet, then this would be a great time to try it for yourself.
The 15-course grill ends with its speciality dessert, the signature Queen Pineapple. This whole pineapple is roasted with cinnamon sugar and served with honey, fresh yogurt and crushed nuts. It was a surprising dish as the sweet cinnamon and honey blended well with the acidity of the caramelized pineapple.
The Balearic-inspired, signature 15-course grill is being offered at P2,500++ per person. Guests can also add P600++ for an unlimited serving of the award-winning Manny O. Wines. Ibiza BGC also offers an Executive Lunch Set from 11:00am to 2:00pm priced at P1,000 nett. This includes unlimited servings from the Salad Bar, a Soup, a Side Dish, and a Plated Main Course with one entrée from the seven premium meats and seafood from the Balearic grill plus the Signature Queen Pineapple for dessert. They even have an Early and Late Seating Special Lunch Set priced at only P500.00 nett for guests who come in between 11:00am to 12:30pm or 1:30pm to 2:00pm with a more limited selection for the main course. The restaurant has an a la carte and Tapas Menu as well.
But the best way to cap off any meal at Ibiza BGC is with their imported Mövenpick Ice Cream. The Swiss brand’s world-renowned collection of ice cream creations are some of the highest quality you can find anywhere in the world with its rich and creamy consistency and flavours that bursts with every mouthful. The latest collection features eight flavours with best sellers such as Espresso Croquant, the most refined interpretation of the classic roast theme with aromatic coffee sauce; Maple Walnut, perfected by genuine Canadian maple syrup and the sweetness and crunch of caramelized walnuts; and Caramelita, a creamy perfection folded with a caramel ripple and punctuated with sweet fragments of caramel. These are all available for P350 per scoop.
Ibiza Beach Club BGC is sure to set a new landmark in Manila for its unrivalled combination of dining and entertainment all in one spectacular venue. Evenings will certainly getting hotter as Ibiza Beach Club brings the sizzling party atmosphere of Spain to Bonifacio Global City.

Pound By Todd English Opens Second Branch at Mega Fashion Hall
With the success of their first branch in Bonifacio High Street, Pound by Todd English is expanding its reach into Metro Manila with the opening of their second outlet, this time at the more accessible SM Megamall. I have passed by their BGC restaurant a couple of times before but had never been able to try their gorgeous-looking burger creations yet since I do not usually linger around that area. But now, this gourmet burger joint has opened a new place much closer to the city so that more diners can enjoy their mouthwatering but very affordable specialties.
Pound by Todd English is a spin-off from the highly successful Todd English Food Hall which opened at the SM Aura Premier in 2014. It was one of the first celebrity chef restaurants in Manila which led the way to the opening of many other celebrity chef-inspired establishments in the city. With the success of Todd English Food Hall, the local owners of this collaboration - FooDee Global Concepts, decided to expand the restaurant by spinning off its famous burger creations into their own brand. Gourmet burgers are now easily within reach as Pound launches its second outlet located on the second floor of SM Mega Fashion Hall.
The SM Megamall branch actually has two separate areas with the open kitchen and a 16-seater dining space located near the elevators. This small area has a more rustic and sophisticated tone similar to its first branch which opened last year at Bonifacio High Street. Consider this as their private VIP dining room where you can see the chefs preparing all the specialties.
The other larger dining space is located just a few steps away in the middle of the shopping lanes with a brighter and more casual ambiance. This is where my friends and The Hungry Kat were hosted by FooDee Group Marketing Head Ariane Valinton who showed us all the amazing appetizers, gourmet burgers and side dishes that you can find at Pound by Todd English.
We started our culinary adventure with the Truffle Fries (P160) and its well seasoned house-cut potato fries cooked with truffle oil. I could can smell the truffle flavors even before the servers placed it on our table. Good thing she put it down near me because I really enjoyed picking on these crunchy delectable fries which are also served with truffle ketchup. This first appetizer is already a winner!
Those who like their fries on the wet side should order the Bacon Poutine (P210) instead with its fresh cut fries, cheese, and house cured bacon drenched with home made gravy on top. This is how the Canadians like their fries and it has made its way to a lot of restaurants here as well.
For a healthier alternative, try the Crispy Goat Cheese Salad (P150) which has fresh mixed greens, baby heirloom tomatoes and deep fried goat cheese ravioli sprinkled in raspberry vinaigrette. I’m not really a salad lover so I had to skip this to make room for the other more interesting starters.
These are the other appetizers and side dishes I prefer. The Onion Cubed (P90) is Pound’s take on the classic onion rings raised to the third power. This huge onion brick is deep fried to perfection and comes with a sweet savory sauce. Imagine this big serving for just P90? That’s one of the best deals you can find in the city.
You can really smell the truffle in the air at Pound by Todd English and they offer other truffle specialties like the Truffle French Beans (P120) and the Truffle Risotto Tater Tots (P75). These bite-sized appetizers and side dishes are so good to nibble on while waiting for your main orders to arrive.
The more adventurous diners can also try the Fried Pickles (P75) and Pickled Chilis (P75) to add to your burgers later on or just to keep your taste buds ready.
But the best and most highly recommended item that you should get is definitely the Roasted Bone Marrow (P130). I could not believe that they were selling this for only P130? I have ordered this at other less outstanding restaurants for double to triple that amount. This big chunk of fatty goodness is soooo good with its melt-in-your-mouth bone marrow topped with garlic bits. I loved it so much that I ordered a second serving for myself. I would have gone for more but my doctor would not be too happy about that.
Pound by Todd English also offers a good selection of beverages including sodas, iced tea, imported beers and more to go with these indulgent dishes. If you want something special, go for the Fortant Chardonnay (P270) with its cute bottle holding this 2014 French white wine.
Now it’s time for the main event, the burgers! One of the most popular items at Todd English Food Hall is their Amsterdam Burger (P280) and this is still one of the stars here at Pound. This mouthwatering burger comes with their house ground beef patty plus fried onions, gruyere, sauekraut, relish, T.E. sauce, and a big slice of pastrami in between their toasted homemade brioche bun. I really liked the beefy and smoky quality of their burger which is even better than other burger joints of the same or higher price levels. It is also not too oily or greasy for me. This is how a real burger should taste like.
There are several add-ons you can order to include in your burger like the Seared Foie Gras (P250). It may be a bit pricey but I will never back away from Foie Gras. You can also add cheese, fried egg, bacon, or more beef patties to your delicious burger if you wish.
But if you are really going for the gold, or celebrating a special occasion, then order the most premium item on the menu - the Pound Foie Gras Burger!
The Pound Foie Gras Burger (P700) comes with their house ground beef patty, tomato, iceberg lettuce, crispy and caramelized onions, mustard relish, T.E. sauce, and most importantly, 50 grams of Seared Foie Gras on top of Foie Gras Mousse. Now that is one indulgent burger.
The patty itself for the Pound Foie Gras Burger is almost double the size of the regular burgers. Of course, this half-pound monster is what I ordered for myself because I could not resist having foie gras on top of foie gras. It might not be a burger you can order everyday but it still offers great value compared to the other foie gras burgers from other restaurants.
If you are just passing by for a quick snack, the Bacon and Egg Sliders (P200) might be more appropriate. These two baby burgers come with house-cured bacon, apple aioli and a quail egg on a toasted homemade brioche bun. These would be easy to bring back to the office so you can secretly eat it without being caught by your officemates or the boss.
Pound is also introducing a new pasta item to their menu this month. The Pound Pomodoro comes with roasted garlic pomodoro sauce, confit garlic bulbs and herbed bread crumbs. But the best thing about visiting Pound at SM Megamall this April is that they are offering their $1 Menu Deals from April 1 to 30, 2017. Imagine getting the Pound Pomodoro, Truffle Fries, Onion Blossom, and T.E. Slider for only P50 each! That is definitely a great reason to drop by SM Mega Fashion Hall.
To cap off our hearty lunch, we ended our burger adventure with the T.E. Sundae which is surprisingly the only dessert on the menu. But it doesn’t really matter because I also loved this sweet and cold sundae that has two scoops of Vanilla ice cream topped with Betty White and OMG brownies then sprinkled with caramel and chocolate sauce plus rock salt.
Pound by Todd English is a more accessible and friendly restaurant serving the favorites from Todd English Food Hall at affordable prices. I was really surprised with their offerings and Pound has turned out to be one of the best high quality burger joints that I can recommend for everyone. I haven’t even tried one of their other specialties, the T.E. Crispy Chicken Burger. I’ll be back for that one real soon.
