So…just a few days ago…I saw this guy on Pinterest

His name is Blue cop, he’s from a South Korean cartoon called Metal Cardbots, and HE LOOKS SO COOL!! Once I saw him I was like “Ooo, who’s this character? Where are they from?” Etc. I then asked some friends on discord if they knew where he was from, and Thankfully one of them did!

I’ve been watching a few of the episodes, and I’m really enjoying it! Sadly there’s no English sub/dub (Yet? Hopefully…) so, I have to just try and read the context to understand what’s going on. Man, i hope this show gets ported to the US soon, i Wanna watch it FR so badly! Also, the toys look cool, i might try and get one. Great show, Highly recommend it if you’re a transformers fan, it’s just a fun comfort show. Also, fun fact: the creator of Metal cardbots (Seoro Oh) was previously known for making Transformers animations on YouTube. So…there is so relations to our favorite Robots in disguise!

Anyway, i just wanted to give this show more attention, since it’s a very niche thing. Go watch it, it’s free on YouTube, give it more attention so we can get a dub.

hey (Aizetsu), you should try some chocolate, I hear it helps with feelings of sadness. Something to do with ste.... seoro... seromi... the happy hormone in the brain

*shoves a chocolate bar directly into his mouth then moonwalks away*

(Aizetsu's eyes widen slightly, being taken aback by the sudden interaction and the chocolate bar shoved into his mouth,)

"Um, well, I suppose... chocolate could offer some temporary respite…

(As the time passes by, Aizetsu's eyes widen even more, showing more of their azure, tranquil beauty. The flavors melt on his tongue, bringing a small spark of not-sorrow, hard to pinpoint for him what said glimpse actually was, but just as quick as the feeling appeared it disappeared shortly after.)

Perhaps there's some truth to it…

(His expression softens slightly, and you can almost think that whatever happened, it would have a bigger impact on Aizetsu,)

Thank you for the gesture, though I must admit, my sorrow runs deeper than a simple treat can mend. Nevertheless, I appreciate your intention.

For my chosen topic i decided to focus on time and how it affects us as individuals and the modern world as a whole. As well as focusing on time, i want to incorporate the concepts of modernity and identity. I want my final outcome to result in an animation, over the longer 12 week project.

The examples i have selected to look at and research into all resonate with me but also a larger population of people. Overall, I want to focus on the fragility of time and how quickly it passes or how often we may think we are wasting it or don't have enough of it.

"A woman walks through life, confronts her changing body, and learns to love herself." Directed and animated by Celia Bullwinkel. Her work reminds quite a bit of Rebecca Solnit's Walking After Midnight. The both highlight what its like to live as a woman simply just by walking, and i think it shows a powerful message within a womans identity and how it changes over time.

I quite enjoyed looking at the work of Ralph Khoury. I think a lot of his animations circle around the idea of the current modern world and modernity, but also how we identity. I like the style he has used for his animation, but more importantly I think his message comes across quite strong. He covers certain topics in his work such as time, social media, consumerism and capitalism, as well as the idea of surveillance.
