Update on Tumblr Senyuu Reader

Current Status

I’ve finished the v1 UI for the Senyuu reader- it may or may not use emoji as icons but it supports long scroll and page by page and quick-jumping to a chapter, so I think it has the barebones functionality needed. Feel free to leave feedback via DM or Discord.

Thank you so so much to @blatineti f​or uploading basically all of the Senyuu+ chapters I scanlated 🥺🙏 And thank you to @kitsuneheroes​ for helping out with F5 chapters as well! All F5 and S+ chapters that I’ve scanlated have now been uploaded to the online reader- you can start reading here.

Future Status

I reached out to springbreeze from Battlebrave and received approval to upload the Battlebrave chapters to this reader! I’ve compiled all of the Battlebrave download links for Senyuu+ here: https://kimamanitranslate.tumblr.com/senyuu-plus. I’ll be compiling the download links for Season 2, 3, and 4 as well in the coming days to make things easier for people to contribute.

I’ve also finished a bookmarklet that should make image link extraction a lot easier- full details in the Google Sheets I linked in my previous post. I’m still looking for help uploading chapters, so if you ever have the time to upload any chapters, I’d really appreciate it!

Alba bc out of the three, i feel like he’d be the most cautious when it comes to lab safety. i wouldn’t have to worry about him pulling a prank and putting us in danger. and if he does put us in danger, i know it was an honest mistake at the very least. plus, if he’s got his mana in this scenario, he could fix whatever mistake we make and also heal my chemical burns lmao but idk he seems like he’d be a partner i wouldn’t mind since he can stay focused on the task (usually i have to be the one to focus while my partner spaces out >.>)

get trapped with on a broken elevator for ten hours (the whole ten hours)

Ruki bc out of the three, she’s got us a guaranteed escape plan with her teleportal gate in case of an emergancy. she also seems like she’d be pretty calm in the situation so i wouldnt have to worry about any sort of panic. and lastly bc i feel like it’d be a good chance to have fun and chat. since the rules say we can’t leave the elevator, she could use her gate to get food from her house, or a board game or stuffed animals we could play with to pass the time.

Ros. it’s with great regret that i’d have to put him in any sort of position of authority over me, bc i KNOW he’d abuse that power, but the silver lining i can think of is that i could always quit the job if it gets too miserable (with or without Ros being the source of said misery) ((he probably will be, lbr)) but after training me, who knows! maybe he’d switch his target over to someone else! at least i’d be able to go home at the end of a work day with a new story to tell to friends!

but also, considering Ros made his and Salt’s mana maker, he could be a good lab partner, but also he made those things in his own solitude so any sort of collaborative project (ESPECIALLY INVOLVING DANGEROUS CHEMICALS OR SHARP OBJECTS) would be a nightmare. and the elevator thing, he’d probably, like, either not talk to me for the entire ten hours OR jump up and down to scare the shit out of me. so at least with the McD’s scenario i have a guaranteed way out of the job la;kjs;lkjfd

i love Ros, he’s like one of my favorite characters, but also i would not want to be friends with someone like him in real life

I was going to make a top five list, but I decided not to because he’s one of the most prolific voice actors out there where he gets a ton of roles every season. Plus, I haven’t watched a lot of the following roles. I don’t think I’m qualified to make his list until I watch Clannad. I did tend to keep my favourites towards the end though. 

Heck, I’m not tagging all these anime. I didn’t even touch on video games/visual novels obviously, but some of these roles are both anime and visual novels. And yes, I’m including roles with shady “relationships” (ex. Oreimo has incest if you didn’t know... it’s not like that was in the description or anything). I’ll be providing commentary anyway.

This is as PG as we’re getting. This is Corpse Party. I think the name says it all. Apparently, Sugita watched/played this because Nakamura said to, and Sugita was like, “WAIT... WHAT DID YOU JUST RECOMMEND ME?”

I liked this comparing to the main series. This cast was a lot more fun.

Same thing as above. With every four-minute episode, we have so many laughs in two different settings with two different character relationships.

Gray Fullbuster - Fairy Tail

This is probably his most iconic role. Whether he likes it or not, Mashima and Nakahara already like Gruvia. 

Houtarou Oreki - Hyouka

Nozaki - Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-Kun

This scene (actually, this anime) made me laugh so hard. It’s one of my top picks for “anime that need a season two”

Kouhei Inuzuka - Sweetness and Lightning

This is his most wholesome role. He even said himself that this role was so clean compared to the others.

I did make a top ten ship thing for my other blog, but I want some more here anyway! These are from both the post and from the other one on my other blog!

Wotakoi:Hirotaka x Narumi: Two noobs in love trying to figure it out (despite being childhood friends– which is one of my favourite relationship tropes)Koyanagi x Kabakura: They butt heads with no ill intent. You can tell they care deeply about each other.

Hotarubi no Mori e: Hotaru x GinIt only took me 45 minutes to get invested. So smooth, so heartwarming.

Yamada-kun to 7-nin no Majo: Urara x RyuuBoth of them are both intelligent. They solve mysteries together. One of the only good harem (ecchi) anime I’ve seen.

Toradora: Taiga x RyuujiGreat development, nice characters, and the supporting cast and ending all let this fall together nicely.

Fullmetal Alchemist:Edward x Winry: Childhood friends who have seen each other at rock bottom. They care so much, and their scenes together are fantastic.Roy x Riza: They fill each other’s weaknesses. They go through thick and thin. Same as above minus the childhood friends. They’re military buddies.

Boku no Hero Academia:Midoriya x Uraraka: Sweet pureKirishima x Bakugou: Pure and sweet plus tsundereTodoroki x Yaoyorozu: Power couple of great intelligenceKaminari x Jirou: Snarky remarks and memes

Gin no Saji: Yuugo x AkiJust watch the anime. It’s worth it. These characters have taught me so much. It’s from the creator of Fullmetal Alchemist. You’ll see what I mean.

Koe no Katachi: Shouko x ShouyaYou know, their relationship grows, okay? People can change. I don’t view this as abusive. I’m glad it didn’t end up as being canon though (in the anime anyway)

Noragami: Yato x HiyoriThey go through thick and thin, they’re canon, the age gap rule doesn’t imply here because one is half-youkai and the other one is a literal immortal god.

Bungou Stray Dogs: Atsushi x Kyouka: Their relationship is so sweet (future romance is a possibility but I would rather have it platonic for now)Odasaku x Dazai: This ship is for similar reasons. I don’t want to get too deep as it seems to ignite feelings.

Akagami no Shirayuki-hime:Zen x ShirayukiObi x ShirayukiCouldn’t choose one. They’re self-explanatory if you watch it.

No. 6: Shion x NezumiIt’s canon, it’s mutual, they both rely on each other, they both sacrifice everything for each other, but that ending…

Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic: Alibaba x MorgianaIt’s canon, it’s cute, it’s one of my first ships, get you a girl who can break you and toss you over a wall.

Fruits Basket: Kyo x TooruAs if anyone hasn’t watched this (I’ve only watched the 2001 version. Don’t hate me)

Assassination Classroom: Karma x MinamiThey both say that if they had to choose a person of the opposite gender it would come down to them. She gave Valentine’s Day chocolates too. How sweet. I also read a good doujinshi.

Yakusoku no Neverland: Norman x EmmaI’m basic. I’m not explaining beyond this because anyone who hasn’t seen TPN should.

29. Anime that deserve another season!

Honourable mentions that deserve a remake: Soul Eater and No. 6Where’s my brotherhood remakes? These are all Studio Bones. Come on fam!!!

Noragami: They left so many arcs hanging. Now that the hiatus for the manga is over, I don’t see why they can’t. All the main cast thrived off their roles here. The reception’s good.

Akatsuki no Yona: Left on a CLIFFHANGER. They develop everything just to say, “It ends on an epic battle. 26 episodes of build-up for nothing.”

Akagami no Shirayuki-hime: I think they can go further.

Barakamon: This is one of my favourite anime. I want to see some of the kids grow up, and I want to see Handa grow.

Gin no Saji: This one wasn’t left on a huge cliffhanger, but the point of this kind of anime is to see these blossoming teenagers graduate. Please, I want to see Aki and Yuugo fall in love even more.

Hinamatsuri: This anime made me laugh so hard. There were so many jokes left unsaid. 

Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: There were some jokes left out, and it’s a little episodic. They can keep going with this, and I think all the voice actors liked working on this show too.

Kimi to Boku: This is one of my favourite anime too! The bros being bros in their laidback lives. The manga just resumed too! I really want another season.

Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic: They still have over a hundred chapters to adapt, and the ending is absolutely paramount. I found the future arcs I read (about the beginning of life) absolutely brilliant.

Ouran Koukou Host Club: We want this. It’s been 13 years. Re-cast Tamaki’s Eng dub, and let’s get it rolling! We have stupid comedy to explore!

Sakamichi no Apollon: They butchered the manga from what I hear, but I still want their ending.

Senyuu: This anime was so fricking funny. It’s like a fantasy version of Gintama with a short-episode format. Just watch it. It’s not long. It’s hilarious.

When you mention these two characters I remember aggressive friendships, a design that reminds me of fantasy, and drama-queens. If any of those things are good for ya, I think you’ll love Senyuu!

Senyuu is a comedy, a very weird one. The first season has 13 episodes, each episode having only around 4 minutes. The characters are fun, if bizarre drama queens, and the whole thing is a parody of fantasy and RPG stories. I honestly don’t know how to explain the relationship between the protagonist and his Soldier Friend tho, cause on one hand the protagonist is only alive because of his friend but on the other hand I remenber this same friend buying a knife just to stab him, plus half the time the protagonist end up regreting his life choices in a prison cause everyone he know is a basta-

Okay, forget Senyuu!!

Go watch Magi:The Labyrinth of Magic! That’s a good fantasy anime to recomend. You got magic and dangeons and drama-queens! Good stuff, good stuff! First season have 25 episodes, is a blast, trust me you will love it!!

OH RIGHT HAHA so uhh?? I read the new chapters on my phone on the official Nico Nico Douga app!! It doesn’t show up in normal search results on the app store tho lol you literally have to copy and paste the kanji for it in the search bar to even find it (ニコニコ), the icon is of this little tv with a face and a green hat and a green background. Pretty straightforward.

Once you download the app!! You probably have to make an account for it, it’s free tho so no worries! The entire app is in Japanese tho I gotta warn you lol. Anyway once you’re all logged in you can search 戦勇。to find the newest chapters under 戦勇+, unfortunately you can only have access to the three most recent chapters, the rest are locked and you have to pay to be able to read them. Since Senyuu is a webcomic the chapters are in episodic format, so they play as a video you can scrub through to read all the panels if you so wish! 

Sorry if that’s a bit confusing?? I’m sure there are plenty of other ways to read the new chapters, like on the official Nico website, for instance–I just read them all on my phone since it’s easier for me to access. Hope that helps!
