Sense8 poly relationship

After looking at a post of a South Indian woman talking about what a character like Kala would really go through as a woman in that society (more important to please family, society, be w/a "good" man) and us white people not understanding that idea, I have news for you - some of us DO understand pressures from family to stay w/in the same religion, ethnicity, etc. It may not be at the same level, but, trust, some of us do have an understanding w/this issue and even have married someone you care about over someone you love. My loving father would have disowned me if I married a Protestant even in this day and age. Please show some understanding and empathy to others just like I'm trying to extend to you.

Yes, Kala's arc was always family/society/culture/religion vs. a profound love with Wolfgang and I can see where those could be equivalent to someone like Kala (however, hard to believe that with the end of S2). To me, it is about Truth. She wasn't honest to either Rajan or Wolfgang about her feelings and led them both to believe she had shared some of what was going on to each one, ex. Wolfgang talking to Rajan in the club after he saved his life "most men would have not done what you did".

It later dawned on me I have see/heard about a real life triangle with a Indian woman and man and a White man (in the US). The woman and White man were dating for six years (mostly hidden from her family) when she was practically put into an arranged marriage - she did date him for a little bit before the marriage - and dumped the White man for the Indian man. I knew the family pressure was high; I don't know if it still matters, but they were both of the highest caste. I always wondered how the White man felt - was he lied to and led to believe it could work out or did he always know this was a possibility. Could it have been 6 years of a lie?

Back to Sense8, if anything, this could be a set up for Kala going back to India w/Rajan, and dumping Wolfgang. That would probably culturally be the most correct thing. However, in the Sense8 world, the threesome is showing how love can overcome cultural differences, monogamy; the fact you can love more than one person. But my question is this - is it really "love" if you are dishonest? #Sense8 #Sense8Special
