I've lived in a little village for about 7 years now and a couple of years ago I found this overgrown path to a field and oh my god, the sense of peace I had when I got there was insane, I've never forgotten it or been able to replicate it. I wasn't supposed to go back for for safety reasons and all that but I've decided to try and find it again in Monday - I'm so unbelievably excited I don't even know how to express it.

i got my isbn today for the book. 8 months to go. my mom and i were talking about what the next steps are. i was eating trail mix, standing on one foot, phone tucked into my ear.

"you should figure out some kind of reward for presale amounts. maybe you give out poems or a mug or a signed book or something. would your followers like that?" my mother is sweet, and kind, and i have no idea how to explain on this website you can buy someone crabs.

i put more m&ms down the hatch. i had to speak through peanuts and almonds. "if it passes 25 thousand i will print the book out in its entirety and eat it live on camera."

"oh god. no, you don't have to do that." she was anguished. "just tell them that you'd love them to read it, and that they've inspired you to write. you got started on that site, and they helped you keep going. raquel, you love these people. the community? you talk all the time about the other writers and artists and whatever else. tell them that you're hoping for their support, they'll come through."

My secret is that I got the concepts of unhealthy obsession and love mixed up when I was younger and still struggle to appreciate it when someone makes me feel calm and treats me with respect instead of hurting me or treating me as an escapism fantasy or a second option.

I think this person I’m sleeping with is using me for convenience and I don’t know what to do. It’s making me feel gross and extremely stupid for thinking they’d actually be interested in me if I didn’t make myself embarrassingly available to them. I regret letting it get to this point and don’t know what to do. Fucking sucks feelings this way.

I can't even imagine. But please don't feel stupid. You deserve to have someone who's interested in you and if they're not that says more about them than it does you.

I can't tell you what the right thing for you to do is. I think you know that you should make yourself less available to them, or even better tell them how you feel and say look this isn't cool. Sometimes the hardest things in life is setting those boundaries and saying no to someone. But it's also the most necessary. If you're not happy with the situation, you have to set that boundary.
