Trigger warning for sensitive content Such bad times...due to an incident (and I was fine anyway) im now banned from the art room,I’ve camped outside trying to feel like I have my safe space back again but it just felt too out of reach. They’ve changed their policy on safe self harm and so now put me in restraints whenever I try to hurt myself which meant being IM’ed twice but two lots of oral PRN yesterday with 4 restraints,just HORRID!! I’ve moved my art from the art room walls back to my bedroom walls but my room gets locked off all day everyday on a weekday, thank God for the weekend!!Not the forward steps In recovery that I was aiming for #gonetopot #dammit #section3 #bpd #bpdproblems #tierfour #selfharmerproblems #level3s

Other times you have stressful situations but anxiety’s there making you overreact with an unnecessary load of worry and physical symptoms. When it comes to my anxiety, I’m the kind of person that “suffers in silence”. I don’t look anxious but I’m panicking inside. My heart speeds, I experience shortness of breath, my palms get sweaty and I get a lump in my throat. When I talk, I don’t sound anxious, but just off. My voice tone is low and I talk really slow. Others could think I’m just sleepy or cranky. Sometimes they think it’s best to leave me alone, but in my case a really tight hug really helps. Anxiety is different for everyone, it’s not stress and it’s not nervousness and it’s not freaking out about a test. It’s changing and confusing and overwhelming and it varies from person to person. Most of all, it’s real. And we can’t “just relax”. But we can get help and help ourselves. We can have self care habits. We can talk to someone. We can take medication if needed. We can get to know ourselves to learn how to meet our needs best. And we can surround ourselves with people (or a person) who make us feel loved, accepted and understood, who listen instead of judging, who hold your hand through it instead of telling you to calm down. For me, this person is my boyfriend. For others it could be a friend or family member or spouse. Some people have therapists, others don’t. Some people need meds, others don’t. There is no one-remedy-helps-all. What do you need? Go within. Show yourself some love. Take it one step at a time. Find your people. Get a self care routine. Meet your anxiety with acceptance and compassion. Stay mindful. Check in with yourself. Stay grateful. Reach out. Be patient with yourself. My inspiration to try to stop self harming is music and God, pretty much. Music keeps me alive, and God gives me strength to get through each day... I hope it'll help me get better one day ^^;
