12. How does their education and intelligence – or lack thereof - reflect in their speech pattern, vocabulary, and pronunciations?

A.Q is quite intelligent, but he had a very fragmented education. He was never formally taught to speak until he was 7. At the lab, where he lived until he was 6, he picked up on some words, from older children, and from listening to the scientists. He couldn’t read either, which certainely didn’t help.

By the time C.Q took him in, A.Q couldn’t speak proper sentences, instead only using one or two word phrases to communicate. He also used sound effects, such as the chugging of the metro train. As he grew older, A.Q was taught how to speak very formally and slowly. His pronunciations and speech patterns are very by-the-book, he’s never really settled into the usage of slang.

It takes some effort though, so if he’s very emotional, or exhausted, he will slip into the choppy speech.

50. What are the prevailing facial expressions? Sour? Cheerful? Dominating?

His expressions tend to be very neutral and controlled. It’s a learned habit from running the tests for so long, and seeing some of the Deep Sea’s finest horrors. That’d not to say he doesn’t show emotion, he does, but they tend to be very subtle.
