Sorry that this took forever to answer! I am not very good at self promotion so I do really appreciate the prompt to do it! ♥️ I also fear re-reading old things sometimes in case I’ll suddenly hate them now, but I think these are 5 choices that I got a lot out of and still enjoy myself:

1. Where Now the Horse and the Rider: The love story of Guthláf and Wídfara, and my magnum opus of 8 chapters. This is as close to authentically me (in terms of being obsessed with obscure canonical Rohirrim) as it gets.

2. A Life Interrupted: This was the first thing I ever wrote about Théodred, and I just like it. Featuring Éomer dealing with his cousin’s death.

3. Ties That Bind: Théodred’s fiancée Eadlin is my favorite of my OCs; get to know her a little better as she intersects with Éomer getting jailed by Théoden/Gríma.

4. Those Worth Fighting For: Short fluffiness of my personal king, Háma, giving his daughter a special day out while also shielding her from the increasingly dire realities of the world.

5. Untitled Elfhild: A random ficlet about Elfhild, Théodred’s mother, talking to him before he was born and after he died because I like to make myself sad. (CW: canonical maternal death)

#1 Kitty-Cat(Ettore X Neuro-divergent reader) - part 1 of this series was my first ever fic for Ewan's characters and was something I was practically forced to write in order to get rid of a reoccurring daydream and so it is very special to me. Plus I'm a big whore for Ettore 🤷‍♀️

#2 Mine to Claim (Aemond X Commoner reader)- This was one of my earliest requests, and I love love love the way this one came out.

#3 If I had the Love I Needed (Will Salad days X Friend Reader) - this was born of desperation! 🤣 I love Will so much, but he is a character most people don't know or forget about. With a lack of fics to read about my dearest Will, my daydream went wild, and I ended up with this

#4 Dreamin of you (Modern Actor Aemond X Girlfriend Reader)- This was a request, and I love writing dark toxic Aemond modern or not. I had a lot of fun writing this one and am very happy with how it turned out.

#5 Make you Beg (Ettore X Prison nurse reader X Will Salad Days) - I freaking love this one. This was written 100% for me by me 🤣. I had been wanting to write a threesome fic for a while and was like, what threesome would I want to be in? After asking myself that.... this fic was born!

aaah mack, thank you for sending me this!! im a bit embarrassed to answer because im not as prolific as i wish i was, and my confidence in my stories tends to diminish with time since im never satisfied and always think i could have done better (imposter syndrome my old friend), but here are what i consider my 5 favorites in no particular order:

how fools fall in love 126k | ginhiji — somehow this became a classic in the ginhiji fandom despite the time it took me to finish and my terribly irregular updates. i reread it recently and it made me cherish not only the characters but my fandom friends so much! always a sure read when in the mood for slowburn and angst.

ceremonials 29k | ginhiji — my post-canon ginhiji fic has some of the best character writing i've ever done imo. it's also a breather for me because i get to write ginchan and toshi being properly together, leaning on each other and healing.

when silver turned white 32k | ginhiji — one of my favorites because of its structure and plot. it's not too long but i managed to cram all my angsty headcanons and fit them into the plot of bfy movie. i also LOVED to write ginchan and toshi in other timelines/ages, which i plan to do again soon!

beware the desert 15k | skysolo — occasionally i go and reread this one and can't believe i wrote it because it hits every beat, it contains every single thing i love about skysolo and depicts so clearly the han solo i have in my head i could cry. honestly, im so glad i took the time (a year if i remember correctly) to write this down because it's made specifically for me and i don't think anyone else could have done it.

give heartache a name 25k | sterek — im so specific about stiles' characterization in fics that i had to write my own because after the movie came out this year the dormant sterek part of my brain came alive after a decade and i needed to put down my love for both these idiots. i think i've reread this story at least 50 times because i wanted it to be canon so much. i know i sound like a loser but i get so giddy about older stiles and derek. as the kids say nowadays, i am cringe but i am free.

im also nuts about my ginhiji zombie au which i fear i may never finish because im always thinking about expanding the plot instead of tying it all up and finish so i can start taking my og writing seriously. oh well.

A Waking Nightmare

I feel like I have to add this one to the list. First, because it's the first ever multi-chapter fic I've ever completed before. Second, it was the first big fic I started in this fandom as well and honestly marks my true start as a bigger participant in this fandom (as well as a writer in general). And third, I just really enjoyed writing it!

It was not meet for a king to be weak, even before his healers and lieutenants. But it had been a long time since Gil-Galad had had a cousin bold and true enough to cut a swathe through the enemy and come, kneeling, back unguarded, to press his hands against his injury.  

Gil-Galad is wounded in battle. Elrond and Elros have opinions on the care and keeping of kings. A small fic about trust, also for @thalion71.

I was tagged by @elfscribe and @ettelene ages ago, but life's been busy and I'm trying to be a good mom as the kids start new schools (and a good mentor at work to a new trainee), plus I'm about 2/3 of the way through a crucial chapter of Montreal Confidential (which I've been stubbornly making time for, an hour a day), AND we all have nasty colds as the school germs get passed around once again... Anyway, better late than never.

A Way to Measure Time

Fandom: Harry Potter. The year is 2006. Severus Snape, who works for the Refugee Board, is no stranger to desperate people who seek asylum in the West. He deals with them on a regular basis, arranging for the deportation of many. He's not soft-hearted; he's had his share of troubles too, and it's pointless to feel sorry for strangers. But then, one day, Remus Lupin walks into his office. And things change. Non-magical AU set in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

If you read Harry Potter fic and you're enjoying Montreal Confidential, this multi-chapter fic may appeal to you. It's got angst, smut, and an eventual happy ending.

Back before I was head over heels for Crowley, I had a thing for Severus Snape. I love me a character who's spiky on the outside and isn't 'nice' but has kindness (or the potential for kindness) within.

Watch One Hour With Me

A fanfic based on Mary Renault's The Charioteer. After Laurie's mother's wedding, Ralph and Laurie spend a night at Laurie's childhood home. AKA the 'wedding night' fic.

I put my heart and soul into writing this fic, back in the mid-2000s. When I think of myself as "a writer," the image that comes into my head is me getting up at the crack of dawn, before work, to immerse myself in writing this piece. Happiness is being in the middle of writing a Charioteer fic.

Same Shade of Gold

Fandom: Silmarillion. Turgon loves Elenwë. Finrod loves Turgon. Elenwë is pushed to the brink by the strain of the Helcaraxë. There are strange things done in the land of no sun by the Elves with hair of gold… An angsty love story with a ghostly twist.

The first fic I wrote when I got back into writing fiction (after a 15-year hiatus). I'm quite pleased with it. It's angsty -- but there's a happy sequel!

In the Bleak Midwinter

Fandom: Silmarillion. Elrond/Gil-galad. On a cold winter night in Lindon, things heat up between the High King and his herald for the very first time. The definitive early 2000s LOTR fandom portrayal of Gil-galad. Darth Fingon once called this story "bloody awesome" and that's still one of my favourite compliments.

Just so you know, there's smut aplenty in all of these stories.

I started in 1D (Larry mostly though I've done a couple of threesomes) and then I shifted to HP - I think I've only written main Drarry? I've dabbled a tiny bit in Stucky and I've written one 911 Buddie fic (but I'm working on another one!)

4. What are your top 5 fics by Kudos?

I don't tend to write angst-y endings, because I really need a happy ending but I've got a couple of really short painful things! Unsurprisingly, these are all microfic/vignette sorts of things!

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Unhhhh most of them honestly! I will say, I do SOMEtimes VERY RARELY put some pain on the journey to HEA so if I had to guess, I'd say that all of me (loves all of you) (Drarry) is probably my most unabashedly sappy no-angst fluff.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Not to my face anyway! I'm sure there are people who don't like my writing but I think they ignore me more than anything! One of the perks of being a very small writer, I think!

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Sure do! For kind, I write slash, I guess you'd call it (gay), almost all of it M/M. I have one girl!fic. I don't really write too much kink, I'd say most of what I do is pretty vanilla. Healthy communication is my kink, I guess!

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

Ummm off the top of my head, no?

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not to my knowledge. I read one fic that was not a plagiarism of my actual work but was literally the exact same plot, the exact same story beats, the exact same setting etc. I am well-aware there's nothing new under the sun but I read it and was like, unhhh. It's one of my greatest fears honestly - accidentally taking someone's fic!

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Not that I know. I've been approached, but I'm not comfortable with it.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Yup! Twice! Both in the Larry fandom. One was with one other writer (who's long gone from fandom as far as I know) and one (Wine Not) I wrote with a big group of people who've become some of my absolute closest friends!

14. What’s your all-time favourite ship?

I don't have one specific. The ones I write for, I obviously feel very very strongly about, but the bummer for me is that when I'm writing in a particular pair, I don't read anything in that pairing! I also don't read for the ship, but for the story and the writing, so I read in a LOT of different pairings!

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Fuck me, so many.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Oof, I'm not sure! I'm not a trained writer by any means. I think I do scene setting pretty well?

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Pacing, for sure. It's really hard and I can get bogged down in the "and then THIS happened and then THIS happened and then THIS happened" - I'm so linear, so I have to push myself there.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

Generally no. I've sprinkled in a few words here and there, but I wouldn't do much of it, and if I had to, I would 1000% find someone to help me with it and not rely on Google translate.

20. Favourite fic you’ve written?

I'm not sure I have one fav fic - I'd say I'm really proud of my long (for me) fics! Those are hard for me, and there's a couple that are really really personal. But I have to say, Maybe You're the Difference (Drarry) is one I really like and am really proud of. I worked so so hard on it.

It had grown slow and over time, but it had surpassed the fates that were prophesized to him the first time he came to Camelot. If only Arthur could have loved him back. Merlin knew he never would, and perhaps it would have made his lord’s death even worse. He had held on to Kilgharrah’s word that Arthur would one day return. Merlin was willing to wait. Then he could redeem himself and make things the way they were supposed to be for the fallen King. Arthur’s expression changed, his brows furrowing and something flickering in those light blue eyes. “I’m sorry, have we met before? Something about you is bloody familiar.” Was it bad that he wanted to shout yes from the rooftops?
