it was late, you had just got back from a long day at ES. When you entered your home a few people you remembered from a game were inside, but they werent real. Right? In response you pull out your phone and keys to aim at the strangers.

Roses? Did Tsukasa and or the tea club drop off rose tea in your house? When you walked forward onto the stairs you see two men, one with ginger hair with a heart on his face. The other with dark blue hair and a spade mark to match, you scream as you think they broke into your house. Once they hear you they scream as well running into your room.

When you entered your room you saw the rest of the group, nearly panicking you called your favorite idol, but the leader takes your phone and hangs it up quickly. "Hear us out, we dont mean harm we swear."

You want to know what they all do in your home and when they find out about your obsessive coworkers?

Ace Trapolla

No offense, but why is your house so small? Its nothing like ramshackle. But its very pretty and looks nice.

When ace first entered your home he was shocked to see posters of idols in your home. The first thing he put his hands on was an album which had photos of yourself and the idols. He was amazed-- until he saw someone who looked like riddle. Yeah, he screamed loudly which caused deuce to come and scream at the photo as well. They soon realized the difference once they saw people riddle never met in the photo.

What does he do though? After a few days and being placed under house arrest by riddle he finds your workplace. When he sees the large building he goes in, what he didnt expect was to see you, his precious player with people who looked like himself and deuce. Subaru, the one who looked like him, screamed, thinking it was a crazed fan who broke in. Though after you spoke up about how he doesnt actually know anyone but you he calmed down. Ace ran up to hug you which subaru wasnt happy about but let it happen seeing as you were ok with it.

Riddle and the others quickly followed in, causing a whole mess and you having to explain. No, they arent crazed fans of them, they are just your (obsessed) roommates. Eichi walks forward from the idols and seems skeptical but after a nod from you he holds you in his arms and drags you away from everyone. Noone knew you got roommates! Even those who had cameras! (except izumi but thats for later!)

When ace is alone he often photo copies every album with a photo of you and edits all of them into a collage of you (having removed the idols due to anger and jealousy) He wanted memories with you to!

Ace takes a job at ES, eichi or ibara had offered it to him. They only did so to see what Ace would do when he was guarding (you) the building. Quickly regretting it because ace clings to your side, Subaru panics when ace is basically glued to your hip during trickstar practice. Everyone panics infact. Tori is very livid when he sees ace, after practice tori asked eichi if "yuzuru could get rid of him." Which eichi didnt object to at all.

After work ace always greats you at the door, and when you just managed a concert for the idols he always is anxious wondering what "the crazy bastards" are doing to you.

"Oh, your home! How was everyone else at work? You thought I was there to today? No I was off today (he was he just wore trickstar clothing he had taken and snuck in.) Want me to tell trey you are home so he can start cooking dinner? Oh my day, it was uneventful."

Deuce spade

Your home is nice, but why are there posters of "strangers" on your walls. Deuce doesnt take them down but takes pictures of them and scratches out the idols' faces in his copies.

When deuce first entered your home he was shocked, so this was your real home. The first thing deuce put his hands on was some of the pictures of the idols, which he didnt know how but they were hidden in a secret compartment in your desk. You didnt know it existed until he told you.

What does he do though? The first few days are mainly him looking around your home for the things the idols gave you, why? He wants them all destroyed to make himself happy. He found every single one, he mainly found tori's since well. Tori also has snuck into your home, and (not so) secretly put photos of him dressed up in places within your house. The "gifts" he didnt find were from izumi, the cameras. When he found them after about a year..... He was livid and, for the first time, came to ES of his own will. He slapped izumi and nearly released all his repressed bad boy feelings.

When deuce is alone you might find him trying to find jobs, he refused any offers from eichi or ibara saying "I already have my place, and anyway I assure you I would be poor at doing my job." Even if he would be very good at it he refuses it because he doesnt trust any of the idols. The only ones he can trust are subaru and hokuto, but even then it isnt much.

After work deuce usually is cleaning or clinging to you. During or after lives however, due to much convincing from you, you got deuce to come back stage with you and ace. He wasnt your guard at that point but after seeing first hand what the idols would do to you. He wasnt taking any chances ever.

"Hey question, why do you have all these photos of your colleges? You dont, well I found like 50 pictures of them. They must have hid them in (y)our house."

Cater diamond

Nice place you have here- who are those people on those posters? Oh your coworkers. Yeah when he sees mao he sees red. Not his mark but anger. WHY WAS THIS SHALLOW COPY OF HIM ON YOUR WALLS. Oh he already has someone. Who? A guy who is also (obsessed) interested in you.

When cater entered your home he was shocked about everything around him. Specifically the posters of your coworkers. He found the cameras before deuce only tried to connect them to his phone instead, resulting in izumi hacking his phone and sending him messages. Most were along the lines of "get out of their house" and or "STAY AWAY FROM THEM." Oh he wasnt happy about this ever.

What does he do though? He joins ES not as a guard but rather as an idol. He creates a unit and invites you to produce him, of course you agree but when eichi catches wind of cater's ideas he quickly tries to team his unit. He (Eichi) is your (lover) roommate after all, why not support him? Ibara also tries to get cater to join eden, it ends up working. Ibara and cater work well together despite hating eachother.

When cater is alone he is often actually working on stuff for his career. Given the fact he already knows how to use social media well he gains quite the following, even larger than hiyori's almost. Much to everyone's dismay he ends up growing large enough to have a solo unit similar to mam.

After work you can find cater doing chores or working on a new song. During lives, whether it be his own or another unit's he is always near you. Of course he is, who wouldnt want to bring their "lover" with them to success.

"Thank you for coming to practice with me, I appreciate it a lot. Speaking of which I was looking for my unit's file in your office but couldnt find it. I only found fine's in it."

Trey clover

Your home, yes its very pretty. But what are these little cards in your desk? Are they playing cards? No?

When trey entered your home he was in shock, mainly that he was here but also that there was someone who you seemed to like that was just like him. He was honored but also livid at keito.

What does he do though? He mainly does the chores, since they have ace and deuce as guards for ES and cater an idol he doesnt need a job exactly. So he choses to do the housework often left behind by everyone but riddle and himself.

When trey is alone as said above he does chores but he also helps with cater's unit when you cant. He made "special effects" that made cater almost multiply, even if it was an excuse so they could use their magic together. They made it where cater's clones would do the song. Once it was done trey use his magic and made it seem lke they just disappeared when really he just wrote of cater's magic in an interesting way.

After work you always find trey cooking, you cant help but go into the kitchen and offer him a hug. He of course welcomes it but also explains what he is making.

"Riddle said you have been doing a lot of work lately, dont worry I can help you if need be. I already help cater, what is one more (he offers this to annoy the idols.)"

Riddle rosehearts

He will take care of you and your home, rest assured. No need to worry about the first years, they wont matter in the end.

When riddle entered your home and heard the troublesome duo's screams he ran to them. When he saw someone who looked like him he yelled, weirdly and luckily tsukasa was off stage was when Riddle used his magic on him. You, you just panicked when you saw the familiar collar on his neck. You ran home to get your phone, you forgot it earlier in your rush.

What does he do though? You often find him organizing your papers for work, even the ones you hid. Often times he burned the pictures of tsukasa but you never noticed him doing so.

When riddle is alone as stated above he will be burning the cards the idols snuck into your home and or bag. He doesnt help with cater's idol work but he does help you manage with knights. Tsukasa and him form a bit of a bond, which is why riddle after about a month of them working together he doesnt burn the cards and instead gives them to you in flowers for tsukasa. An idol he hates after meeting is hiyori. Do not let them in the same room unattended, he will attack hiyori.

After work you may find him drawing outfits, he learned how to draw from shu. Even learns to sew from him just to help on your workload. However after a live he clings to you for dear life and hands you roses as a "reward" for not indulging those idols in "regretful and wrong" actions.

"Rose, you are home early? Oh me, I was just cleaning a bit for you. The thing on the table? Thats the latest design for one of the units."

In a summary

Heartslabyul is a dorm that helps you a lot, they all work except trey who joined niki's kitchen group. You dont have to work anymore if you dont want to. You have 2 bodyguards who make decent, a super popular idol, a home chef, and a star producer to watch over you. Why leave them now? Cant they "help" you some more. Even get your least favorite idol to stay away from you.

Of course, they will love you no matter what but they can´t help but be curious all the same. Their darling player must be the most wonderful looking person in existence!

So please just. give them permission to spy on you, okay? I mean if you hit accept when the game asks you for permission to use your camera then you´re kind of inviting them to take a look, aren´t you? They´re just so curious to see what you and your world look like. Maybe they´ll even catch a glimpse of some enstars merch in your room! They might just die from happiness if they saw you collecting their merch.

What happened when you lost to an event? In a concert battle? Well your going to be stuck in the dungeon forever, if your very strong willed. You might not be suck dry of life force but become one of the monster in the dungeon and live there but your memories of before shall be erase.

"the concert battle is a dou. Who are you bringing with you mc?" Hokke ask you as he read the details on the battle. He really wonder how someone like you would ignore the clear instructions to not interact with dungeon creature when he was talking earlier.

Through he don't really know you that well as Mao have meet you first but he did admire how brave you are for wanting to come along to a dungeon. Most people doesn't even want to go or some does but it's cause they are crazy people who just want to be eaten by the dungeon.

"well..." You look at ritsu with hope in your eyes as you can't reapply ask others as you think you all in acquaintance zone at the moment. Ritsu turn his head away from you. He refuse to help you as he also warn you to not do anything stupid too. Through that's not the only reason, he cannot bare to hear you sing in a very close radius.

He prayed that the king will survive it ( his more worried about his friend than you do since you probably would massacre the poor fellow with your ✨ magnificent voice ✨) and to whoever will tag along with you.

"TRAITOR!!" you can clearly see what in his mind again. THIS HANDSOME SHEEP IS THINKING HOW TERRIBLE YOUR VOICE AGAIN. "I don't know what your saying mc." The traitor said acting innocent like he can't understand what you mean at all.

"lies!!" You really had it with this sheep. Always bring up the fact that you made his ears bleed a year ago. Can't he move on from that already?!

"it seems you friend won't help you either. " Subaru chuckle. "Oh! Don't they say you can be awaken if you trigger the event and won? Mao~ don't you want to be awaken too?" He doesn't really mean bad things when he said this, he thought mao who knows that can handle such situations with how talented he is in singing could assist you and become an echo too, it's like hitting two birds with one stone.

"ehh... But is mc even fine with that?" The red haired have been wanting to aid you since it's mostly his fault, that his too slow to stop the event from triggering since his with you to begin with.

"really?! You'll help me? But this sheep keep saying I have terrible voice what if I cause you to lost some hearing it be my fault!" you cannot help but stare at mao like his an angel sent by system to help you!

"huh? Is that why he don't want to help you..." Now his a bit worried about the concert now. "Oh well, mao we can visit you in Monday and Sunday is that ok with you." Subaru already opening schedule to give time for his friend who's going to be stuck in this place. What a friend he is.

"we can't really say that mao can stand the process to be even be one of the monster here akehoshi." Hokke pointed out. Mao suddenly felt those two friend of his are so " optimistic " for his future.

"you two..." He can't help but sigh. He can't really do anything since he still would want to aid you.

"maybe I'll ask the lord of the dungeon to let you off if we did lose since your innocent from all this." You tried to comfort him but he smile at you. "Don't worry mc we don't start the concert yet so we can't be that negative about the future! Let's do our best ok?" He offer his hand to you and you stare at it before you handshake it. Making him laugh a bit how silly you are as he wanted to do high five instead but it seems that you don't know what that was.

"ok, let's do our best!!" You smiled.

The concert went well, you two manage to win. It was odd... The sheep thought as he look at the humans and the lords of this dungeon that have lost to you. He somehow wonder about how that will happened since that is king after all. It's not that he don't believe in mao, he doesn't think someone on your level can face king to begin with.

It could been that he underestimate you, but there's seems to be something wrong with this world. Usually he won't bother with such matter but he can't help but question many things, he saw it with his own eyes and heard it.

Your voice seems to stay as bad to him but to others it seems to not be the case.

Is his ears broken? How come others think that your voice is angelic and won? There's seriously something wrong with the system. Why does it feel like it have favorites? Is this why your aliases of this world "mc"? Does it mean main character or something?he really don't understand why you call and introduce yourself in such name but you never told him your real name, he don't want to force it either. The world won't even let him ask it even if he wanted too.

The world is quite something huh...' he thought as remove his ear muff. He saw how your question again what you wanted as award and you did something like a main character would do, asking if award could be given to mao instead.

"hey tell me what's the point of letting me out of my dungeon to begin with?" He question the world. He thought it won't answer him back but it did. As a screen appear in front of him.

System: system wish for you to aid the main character to make a complete world.

"... Can I not do such thing? Go bother someone else." His not the right person in such job to begin with.

System: if you complete this mission, the system will tell you the secret of this world.

"I'm not interested in such thing. To begin with why should I follow a scammer system like you?" He rolled his eyes. "You who let everyone I care about die in front of me? Why should I? Am I your dog?" Remembering how system doesn't even do anything to his world ending, why should he do what it told him to do?

" just end me and make another ritsu to do you stupid bidding."

System: but your a knight aren't you?

"ahaha. Characteristics.. characteristics... " He laugh in a sarcastic tone. "Is this what that cat said about being not the original?" He remembers that black cat told him that there's many him across the multiverse but the original is none of them as they will never be in such state to begin with. They are just alternative.

"I'm just a sheep, I don't bother in such important world quest." He stick his tongue out with his middle finger pointed at system, he really doesn't act like a ritsu would act.

System: system thing your ooc. You need to follow characteristics or you'll be punish.

"meee mee " ritsu sarcastically made sheep noises as if refusing to hear what the system told him to do. As he have a little fight with the system and you who finally remembered he existed went to him to say that you two are going home! Finally he can stop hearing that stupid system nag him. So annoying.

The moment you yearn for guys you technically just have as big crushes but you want to explore again to see if there is more after all. I can at least see how it goes, right?

I'm talking about the Enstars guys. And by that I mean 3/5 from Knights (two are platonics). OGs might remember who I mean. It's been like this since spring started. I miss them. But I told myself to not talk about them in public (mainly because of HappyEle and how parts of the story is going these days) yet my yearning is becoming big again and hard to contain. I feel conflicted I won't lie.

Decided to do a card edit today while on call with an oomf talking about self-aware Enstars.

This was just to make how I'd see myself in game if I was like suddenly dragged in one day. Though I feel like it'd be gradual preparation before it actually happens whenever I play back these scenarios.

Like... Game is normal at first, gradually has stuff be a bit off like small little 4th wall breaking comments that don't seem like it at first and possibly hearing things while the game is open (I tend to be on call with friends, a lot), more direct 4th wall breaks, and then the eventual being dragged in the game once they think it's time.

Honestly another thing I wanted to think on, since I don't really have the appearance of an idol nor the dancing/performance talents... Would it be possible to be like, the first virtual idol of ES? Like I know we're supposed to be a producer in game, but I would honestly love to be an idol even with how fucked up the industry is ;w;

Like I can't handle people irl, but like through a screen? It's honestly a more seamless transition + I don't need people to see my imperfections like the scarring on my neck or the wounds I have!

Though... they may end up probably putting a crap ton of restrictions on what I can do in that idol persona but hey, at least they don't need to see my face.

Rinne Amagi was a man who loved to tease. His words, his hands, his voice- All of them perfect tools as his disposal. And who else was better to rile up than you, the young, sweet and innocent producer of Crazy:B?

"Been meanin' to ask ya," Hoshina started, placing his coffee down so that he could clasp his hands together in front of his face. The level stare he was throwing at you made you immediately bite back a groan. You knew what he was going to ask next. "Ya invited me instead of that ninny boyfriend of yours. What's goin' on?"

Your brain paused, and you could feel it in your body.

It was no small consolation that he had the thoughtfulness to ask you after the exhibition and in the privacy of his apartment. You had enough self-awareness to know that you'd find it difficult to forgive him if he tried to have a slightly uncomfortable conversation with you while you were in costume and out in public.

As a semi-prolific cosplayer, you had a reputation to uphold, and that reputation included not having a meltdown where strangers could see you and subsequently film you (and there was also the issue of getting caught on camera with your makeup running, which you hoped to avoid forever and ever. You'd never live it down if people started using your tear-stained face as a reaction meme. Sephiroth-dono forbid!).

You didn't feel like mentally retracing the scenes of that story. Hoshina had done you a solid by putting on some makeup and a costume more revealing than he preferred to dress (he has something against baring his shoulders, but he did it for you. You didn't even have to pretend to beg.), just so you could have your fun at the exhibition. He also took some good shots of you in your Kaveh cosplay during golden hour at that secret spot close to the water, which proceeded to draw a crowd of admirers (from the way their eyes lingered on his arms and the fact that they had to ask who he was dressed as, it was clear that they weren't your fellow KavehTham shippers. You weren't surprised because you had your moments of weakness too.).

The groan clawed its way back up your throat and exited your mouth as loudly as it could.

Hoshina found it in himself to guffaw at the sudden noise you made, nearly knocking the mug of still-hot coffee over when he shifted his elbows. If it had been anyone else, you wouldn't have taken it sitting down. But this was Hoshina, the person you let get away with anything and everything. And 'everything' definitely included that collector's item Hatsune Miku mug he was drinking out of. You forgot to take it with you after sleeping over to study with him years ago, and he's been using it as if you gave it to him ever since.

"Boy broke up with me," you said, finally.

The silence after his laughing fit had died down was your natural enemy. Well, one of your many natural enemies. Hoshina probably had a list somewhere in his apartment, knowing him. You couldn't take not hearing him say something or the other to fill up the gaps in conversation, and he knew it and kept this weakness of yours in his pocket to use at times like these when he wanted you to talk.

Hoshina reached out across the absurd crescent shape of his dining table (it was a hand-me-down slash moving-out gift from his brother who the two of you acknowledged as having strange interior design tastes, but Hoshina kept it because it's made of hinoki and gave his apartment a more luxurious feel), patting down your sweaty mop of hair and cooing. "Aww, he ain't worth cryin' over, right? C'mon—" You swatted his hand off your head, and he made a show of noticing the damp sheen on it before wiping his palm off on the shoulder of his equally sweaty undershirt. "—The goober'll be back before ya got a chance to miss him."

"Oh, go fuck yourself, Sou-kun," you spat, but there was no bite to your words. "Ya don't know it for sure. He was really mad this time."

The confession seemed to give him pause. He narrowed his eyes at you in the way he did when he was imitating his brother giving unsolicited brotherly advice to the two of you. You pleasantly met his gaze with your best attempt at a guileless smile, trying your best to channel eyes that held no thoughts between them. Just like your grumpy old man cat Boat—

You were about to launch yourself into the hallway and out onto the street, before you remembered that you left Boat with Ashiro-senpai for the weekend so you could cosplay and get hungover in peace. It took you four seconds to place your ass back down on the dining stool (not made of hinoki because it wasn't given to Hoshina by his brother; you know because he called you to help him haul the whole set out of a thrift store in Setagaya after dark on a school night during your university days) and take a long swig of disappointingly room-temperature Asahi Super Dry.

Unsurprisingly, Hoshina found your moment of befuddlement extremely amusing and laughed into his coffee. Miku looked like she was laughing along with him, and you scowled at the two of them over the upturned metal tab of your beer.

Silence began to settle at the table, and you were bouncing your leg incessantly as if ceaseless motion could ward it off.

Hoshina opened his mouth to speak, but you cut into the beginning of his sentence by chugging the remains of your beer as boisterously as you could. Bleh! You just hoped he had a few secret cans of any brand of beer (or sake. Hoshina's expensive taste had your whole trust!) stashed behind the ungodly tall stacks of blueberries in his fridge.

"Are ya an airport?" He sighed in a way that let you know he was disappointed. You could hear the oncoming lecture in your head even before he spoke the words into existence. He has said it before, and he was going to say it again because clearly, it didn't set in the previous times.

"The blockhead's comin' and goin' as he likes, and ya let him! If this was the first time ya wanna take him back—"

You rapped the knuckle of your index finger on the dining table. It was your turn to talk. "—I'd rather ya tell me 'bout breakin' into his place and pissin' on his new memory foam mattress instead of—"

Hoshina's frown evaporated at the suggestion of revenge, and the wrinkle between his brows completely vanished. The familiar glimmer of mischief that came aflame in his eyes prodded you to keep going, but he borrowed your tactic and gently knocked the back of his fist onto the table as a signal for you to listen. "—Wouldn't ya rather flip it over and rub yoghurt on it or somethin'? Least it wouldn't stink up the place. Ya don't drink enough water—"

Your cackle caught in your throat in a choked sound. You smacked the bottom of the can of Asahi on the table believing that it was empty, but something about the scant teaspoon or so of beer hopping out of the opening and splashing inelegantly onto the dining table broke open a dam of frenzied laughter in the two of you.

"—Can't believe ya! Pissin' on a new Tempur? Thought ya said Voltorb-kun had saved up for it."

Hoshina managed to get some words out even through the bout. Seeing him hunched over the table and slapping his hand on it in his mirth (even if it was at your ex-boyfriend's expense. Hah!) made you painfully conscious that you never had moments like these with your ex-boyfriend. The realisation deflated you, and you sagged into the backrest of the stool with a sigh.

"He did. Even got a small loan 'cause his ma's watchin' his card, ya know," you said, after mulling things over and wiping up the spilled beer with a hastily grabbed fistful of tissues in between. "I just— He's the only person I dated who didn't break up with me over bein' an otaku. It's not 'cause I think boy's special or anythin'."

Hoshina was quick to put on an exaggeratedly sour face, tongue out and all. You had every intention of hurtling out of your stool to flick at his tongue, but he stopped you when his expression turned serious all of a sudden. You promptly sat your ass back down at the same time that he asked, "If the chump ain't special, why bother?"

You sighed, letting your arms drop from your lap to hang limply at your sides. "Dunno."

"Pick someone ya actually like. Someone who'll treat ya royal," he said, pulling at the box of tissues at one point of the crescent-shaped table and diligently swiping at the spots of beer you missed earlier on. "Promise ya I'll be the first to piss on their new mattress if ya did like them and they still upset ya."

You groaned. Everything he was saying made perfect sense, which was the same as the other times you heard the whole speech. But hearing it was different than learning from it.

If you were tipsy, this conversation wouldn't have felt like sitting with a bare ass on the afternoon-warmed concrete of Hoshina's balcony where probably half a million Tokyo residents passed by on a daily basis. Half a million people who could gawk at your sad self who made sad decisions, only to run to your childhood friend's apartment to be sad.

"Don't got anyone like that. Ya know it, Sou-kun—" There were more than a hundred excuses on the tip of your tongue, but not one of them made it out.

"—Sure ya don't wanna give me try?"

Your brain stuttered, and then played the earworm that's been living there rent-free for the past few weeks since you rediscovered the song: trip, trip, bloody pink. Mad, mad, sensual red—

Sometimes your mouth was quicker than your brain, and most of those sometimes meant you got in trouble for saying the wrong thing out loud. But other times—

"—Only if ya feel like fallin' in love with me."

You've never known Hoshina to be particularly flappable, especially not in the offering of romance. He had always been the sort who attracted numerous suitors, and you had always been the sort who offered to beat them out of his personal space with a stick (you were a typical otaku who wasn't athletic, but you knew it was the sentiment behind it that mattered most to him). Not once in all the years you were by his side have you seen him go pink in the face by any flirtatious exchange (and you, unfortunately, have been subject to third-wheeling about a hundred too many) as he did at this moment with you.

"Sou-kun?"

There was a sheepish and entirely unfamiliar manner to the way Hoshina rubbed his knuckle on his nose and pretended it was nothing. You've never seen this bashful version of him before. Even his smile that you were very well-acquainted with looked new and fresh and unfairly beautiful when he wore it with rosy cheeks.

Trip, trip, bloody pink. Mad, mad, sensual red—

Putting a message i sent earlier under a read more, it has some thoughts ive expressed before tho. ES, of course

My thoughts as an EichiP... i view ! and !! as different stories in the way they're approached tbh, what i fell in love with enstars for was the character driven storytelling of one event seen through different perspectives, where you see the antagonist in one perspective become a protagonist in another story and can empathize with the entire cast like this. I fell in love with eichi's story of second chances, getting what you want and regretting your actions in the process, redemption, desperation, overcoming fate and asserting one's self into the story, saving a school in a dying industry that saved your life by giving you a dream; i consider it an arc fulfilling to the reader at the end of ! era. But we still had to continue... and it's not like we didnt get inklings of eichi's dreams of idol utopia, the idol soldier idea goes back to main story 1, but !! loses the charm of the original series through expanding the worldbuilding so much and shifting to a plot driven story that opens 10 cans of worms instead of offering resolutions. There's not really room to breathe if the stakes just keep getting higher and higher...

As for the colonisation plotline, it's been here since the beginning of ES2. The SS arc makes it obvious, but i remember even before, the talks about ES taking over from local businesses, trying to be seen as the standard, it was always the direction ensemble square as an institution would take. But the "antagonist in one story, protagonist in another" approach doesnt work anymore with such subjects. The guys responsible for this are your coworkers you share dorms with. I read the stories but cant empathize anymore, so i've been feeling disconnected from eichi for a while. I see enstars with eichi at its core but i didnt care for his center event, i read it, didnt like the ending, and overall felt off. Eichi becoming the villain of ! to attone for the war kind of loses significance if a year later he is a cartoon villain idol colonialist you can't even sympathize with anymore because of the magnitude of events. However i do think !! has done good things for some characters pushing them further or developing them in a way ! didnt. But for others...

I also have my issues with sci fi elements becoming the norm, even taken metaphorically or as hyperboles, when one of the central themes i love about enstars is humanity. Then again, i am a war era fan that relied on manipulating human desires and perceptions, and the fact that there were no monsters or gods, just humans framed as such, playing on people's fears and beliefs, it's a bit jarring to me to have them introduce AIs forming from escaped comatose brains (im minimizing the switch climax rn, i didnt even hate it as a whole, just this resolution im unhappy with)

It also feels like we've lost some of the meta aspects of the writing i liked, a certain awareness of being characters in a story and there being an audience. But im still struggling to word my thoughts on this matter. I felt it present in main story 2, even if it annoyed me at parts in its obviousness ("good thing we're not protagonists, no one would want to read about us" youre right aira you are not interesting to me. And yet i'll read your story to try and empathize nevertheless. I have other thoughts on aira too, perhaps for another time). I wish we explored a bit more what it means to no longer be the central protagonist, from trickstar's perspective...and brought back the successors topic. But i havent read every ts story yet so i'd be foolish to complain before really making sure i've checked everything. To me ! ended satisfyingly with room left for elaborations and imagination, but i dont feel like !!'s ending is really ending anything at all. Not necessarily bad since it's not like the game is shutting down, but overwhelming worldbuilding wise while underwhelming character wise...

Let's see... im not sure how to end this. Just a bit of a stream of consciousness as a ! fan who still loves enstars despite my critiques. Mainly, well, no one's gonna take away the stories that already exist that i do love and impacted my life greatly. And i do think !! had some really good things too it brought, or at least stories i hold dear too. Change is scary and i don't think it's always for the best, but it's also fun to see where it goes next...

Can we just talk about how Watatu is most likely to be self aware out of anyone, but also least likely to fight anything? I've always had this suspicion but I've been watching the anime recently, and he's totally willing to do things that will (or should) devastate him, but because it's part of the script.

Like, he knows you. He loves you more than anyone. But the script says he has a role to play. So he'll play his part and he'll play it gloriously.

Also!!!!! He says things like he's "everyone's Wataru". He doesn't belong to anyone. So it's just another reason that if he was self aware, he would play along. He's yours, but the both of you belong to everyone. So he must allow you to follow your own script to its completion.

Now I have to admit that my knowledge about Wataru is very limited so my interpretation of his character might be very off!

But yes, I think Wataru would be pretty quick to realize the whole truth of this being a game and you being the player. Both because of his experience with doing magic and how that requires performing different tricks. That probably enables him to see these kinds of "tricks" a bit better than other people. Also despite trying to act like a clueless clown in front of other people sometimes, Wataru is actually really smart and attentive, so I wouldn´t be surprised that he would figure all of this out pretty quickly.

And Wataru is indeed willing to play his role if he thinks that it is necessary for a better future/ a good outcome. I think that in elements for example, he did his "final performance" against fine even though he knew he would lose, because he probably believed that it was the necessary thing to happen. He strikes me as someone that does sometimes steps away from his own personal wants.

So once he realizes that he´s simply a character you play with, he wants to play that role as well as he can! He does it with so much passion, he wants you to pay attention to him and he wants ti impress you too.

All his life, Wataru has been a genius when it came to acting and performing tricks. Everyone told him so all his life and yet, time and time again people would start to become bored of his tricks eventually. But he doesn´t want people to abandon him so he keeps trying to do more and more impressive stuff, just to keep people watching, looking at him. ( at least that is what I remember from reading phantom thieves vs detectives like 2 years ago)

So I think it would be much the same here. He doesn´t want to be forgotten by darling so he keeps doing more and more attention grabbing things, in the hopes that they won´t turn away.

And yet, when he sees someone that is close to him enamored with you, he´s conflicted and Wataru starts stepping away, even though it breaks his heart.

I have no doubt in my mind that Wataru would start slowly giving up on you if Eichi, anyone in fine or any of the eccentrics started showing an interest in you. Tomoya and Hokuto for that manner too, probably. He´s ready to play the role of a hopeless clown, a smile on his face as he watches you being swept away by someone else.

Rate the bizarre family trees mostly based off our a3(+enstars) sims game but also hypotheticals, that somehow managed to split all of a3 into the 3 "major vampire families" (Ikaruga, Sakuma, and Yukishiro(technically Hisoka is also a vampire but he is not from a prominent family))

Yes, Madoka, Kaoru, Hiiro, and Hinata are poly married.

Taichi is a third Amagi that got yeeted out of the household at birth. His natural hair is actually red, and he has been dyeing it black since he was a baby. (He does say canonically he dyed it red before filming but we figured he had to redye it since it was fully black anyway.)

The ChikaIta line was just us going "what if they got drunk married once and then had to get a divorce the next day" and that somehow added the last two a3 characters into the tree (we were not aware of this at the time)

ChikaCito is officially in game, "partners in crime" and they built their romance up completely autonomously

Omi and Madara's ship name is "Mimimama" and in our minds, Omi found Mama bleeding out in an alley and he took him home #JustMankaiThings™️

Sakuma —

Just like Taichi except 50× more tragic, Sakuya(sorry babe) is a third Sakuma sibling who got yeeted out of the family for not being a vampire. The parents that he believed were his birth parents were also just relatives (although they did love him, and renamed him a beautiful,,, fitting,, name... and then died.....,,) oh. Btw, we've decided that the Sakuma's hair turns pink in the sun. But they're vampires so you never see it. Sakuya has long gone baby pictures where he has black hair. Funny that this is the opposite of Taichi.

Uhhhh I think the rest of this family is pretty self-explanatory... Juza asked Adonis out on a date like twice in game but they're progressing reaaaally slowly. Feels canon, we're just letting them go at their own pace.
