Morning Musings

Summary: You take the time to really appreciate the loves of your life.

When you awaken, the world outside the bedroom window is bright. The faint sound of cars passing on the street below, of a train in the distance.

Even inside, there's signs of life in the way that the aircon breezes out coolly.

But in the warmth of your bed, you see through sleep-hazed eyes that your boyfriends are still fast asleep.

Seeing them so peaceful, without a single worry, warms you.

Especially Xiao, ever so stressed, ever so strong. You admire how he takes matters into his own hands without so much as a word. Quick to do what is right, but also so bad at accepting praise.

His face is settled beside yours, lips parted gently as he breathes. As much as you'd really like to, you don't kiss him—he's a light sleeper, after all.

So instead, you gaze at his features.

It's funny, how both of them are so incredibly breathtaking. All defined jaw and nose, high cheekbones...Xiaos intense golden eyes and Kazuha's soft scarlet ones.

So handsome.

You're easily the luckiest person in all of the world to be theirs.

A stray strand of dark hair falls over Xiao's face and he mumbles something in his sleep. Cute.

Carefully, you raise yourself enough to peek over Xiao to look at Kazuha.

He's hugging a pillow, cheek pressed to it and his body partly hunched to curl around it. Again, part of you wants to giggle but you don't want to wake the man between you.

It's never rare to see Kazuha so serene. Levelheaded, straightforward—like Xiao, he isn't afraid to say what's on his mind, but this oftentimes gets your cream-colored love a few looks. But he stays true to himself, always honest and always sure.

He sighs in his sleep.

You wonder what he could be dreaming about for a little smile to tug at his lip.

Laying back down, you close your eyes. They're no longer effected by the remnants of sleep.

Thinking of the two sleeping soundly beside you, the temptation to wake them so you can shower then in little kisses and affection grows. But���they are really cute like this, comfortable and relaxed and warm. So instead you sit back up to appreciate them again.

Only to be met by a pair of warm, red eyes and a horribly smug smirk.

"Oh? So you are up already."

The tease slips from his raspy voice, Kazuha now using the pillow he was holding to prop his head up higher.

"Unless I'm mistaken and didn't just feel you staring for the past—"

He looks at the clock on the nightstand behind him, neck craning and untied hair slipping over his shoulder to fall against his back. When he looks back, his eyes are mirthful.

"Twenty minutes."

Oh, the shame—

Was...was Kazuha awake this entire time? Who does that? Feigning sleep—

"Sometimes, when the morning light comes in through and illuminates the room, it's nice to close your eyes and appreciate the little things you've been given."

He sits up, one knee bent against his chest so he can prop his chin on it.

"However, you should be more aware of your surroundings as well."

Resisting the very tempting desire to toss a pillow at him, you cover your burning cheeks. Damn Kazuha and his teasing and fantastic voice—

"You'd do the—"

"I love you, but both of you shut up, I'm trying to sleep."

...Xiao grumbles, burrowing further in the blanket and closing his eyes tighter.

Ah, yes....mornings.

Ahhh I SCREAM. this reminds me of one of your very first works you posted on here, idk if it's intentional but either way it makes me extremely emo omg. 😭😭😭 I can't wait to see where it goes, I'm so excited 🥺💙 His expression is AMAZING girl. I love that he keeps his eyes closed. The sight of him with eyes closed is a big weak spot of mine for some reasons, idk why, but it makes me v weak and I'm in love with how you drew this expression here. He looks lost in his thoughts, reflective. His frown is captured so well, his wrinkles and brow are perfect and I wish I knew what he's thinking about that keeps him so busy. ❣️ Very random thing but I've always simply loved the way you draw his eyelids, they're so distinct and unique and beautiful, and you not only do capture these qualities every time, but also bring up their soft delicacy and subtle translucency. Such a unique part of his face, and in this wip they're simply outstanding. his eyelashes too. ❣️ My heart is weakkkk looking at this. 🥺💙💙 The energy this Wip radiates is indescribable, wow. There's a kind of stillness in his pose that makes me feel at peace and soothed, I simply adore it. I also love the contrast I get between the stillness of his pose, so quiet and peaceful, and the inner dynamism that seem to be filling his thoughts. His brows knitted together makes me think that probably he's not thinking of something that brings him joy. Probably I'm just reading too much into it. 😂 AND BIG HUGE GIANT SHOT OUT TO HIS HAND. His hand is perfectly shaped girl omfg I cannot do nothing else but YEARNING at the sight of those beautiful bony joints. 😶👌🏻🚑🚨 I can see how much you worked on his hand and improved, I remember that hands isn't exactly your favorite part to draw 😂 but is so clear that you're improving. His hand is exactly his, so perfect. Those bony fingers are incredible and illegal. 😫 One of my favorite hands you made so far. 😖🥺 U G H. you even captured the breathtaking shape of his thumb. 😫 It's silly but I love the way his thumb is shaped, makes me lose my mind and you made it perfect. And this is just a wip! 😵 I'm yearning pretty shamelessly over here. 😶😶 AND. HIS. HAIR. LOOKS. SO. EXTREMITY. ENDLESSLY. LONG. OH. MY. I LOVE HIS HAIR HERE SO DAMN MUCH. So long and soft, and the way his curls are smoothed back and fall on his shoulders in these soft waves is just. 😵 I'm so excited to see this beauty girl, I'm a mess. 😭 It's already so beautiful i can't way to see how this will evolve ❣️❣️❣️ I'm too young to yearn like this 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️ oofff I've promised myself that I wouldn't rant again like this but I think I didn't manage 😂🤦🏻‍♀️🧘🏻‍♀️🧘🏻‍♀️🧘🏻‍♀️
