So I’ve been getting back into Bionicle lately, I loved it as a kid and I’m on a whole nostalgia trip right now, rebuilding my Toa and Bohrok and rereading the comics/watching the movies, and as much as I still love it, it makes me sad for anyone who didn’t get to experience it as it was coming out.
Like take the MCU, for example. If you weren’t old enough to start watching the MCU before the first Avengers came out, you could still experience the MCU in its golden times. And if you have young kids, who are just getting to the age, where they can start the MCU, they can still kind of experience that by watching the movies in order and building up to Endgame. It obviously won’t be the same, but I feel like if you do it the right way and paste it right, you can kind of re-create that experience in a reasonable proximity.
The same goes for Star Wars, you can have your kids, watch the original trilogy, then show them trailers for each of the prequels before letting them watch those to get them. Excited, then let them go back and watch clone wars and rebels, and let them read the expanded universe books at their own pace. It won’t be the same as growing up with the prequels coming out and being excited to see new Star Wars movies after seeing the original trilogy when you were little, but it’s still a fairly decent facsimile.
But with Bionicle, that feeling cannot possibly be re-created.
You can’t recreate the feeling of being 11 years old and finding out that Mata Nui is dying, and that the Toa Nuva, your traditional heroes, were defeated by the new villains, and that the six Matoran you grew up with since the franchise started are the new Toa who have to pick up where the Nuva left off.
You can’t recreate the shock of finding out that the eccentric village elders who have advised your heroes for three years were once Matoran themselves who became a team of Toa a thousand years earlier, defeated the main antagonist, went through a Jekyll and Hyde mutant phase, and then turned into the Yoda type elders.
You can’t recreate the horror at finding out that Makuta won in the end, his convoluted, millennia long plot resulting in himself gaining control of the universe. You can’t recreate the disbelief that the story abandoned the Matoran on that dark note to explore an entirely new planet with entirely different characters, species, and culture. You can’t recreate the relief when Mata Nui showed up, his presence, carrying the promise that the original storyline would tie into the new one sooner later, and the grim ending was only a temporary pause. You cannot re-create the excitement at seeing the story climax with the final showdown between Mata Nui and Makuta. A final battle that you had never imagined possible, but one that only feels right and full circle.
You cannot re-create the horror and sorrow when Matoro failed to reach Mata Nui with the Mask of Life in time to save him. You can’t re-create the disbelief and terror at wondering where the story can possibly go after that point. You can’t re-create the disbelief and sorrow and morning as you read the pages of that comic, as you see Matoro put on the mask and start to become part of its energy. You can’t re-create the stunned, heartbreaking silence that you felt as the death of Matoro, who you would known for six years, who you had at least peripherally grown up with, whose journey you had watched unfold as he went from a simple but well-known and even iconic Matoran, to a new Toa of Ice, unfolded on the pages of that comic in that curious new art style that you would never quite gotten used to. You can’t recreate the feeling of mourning you share with his friends as they learn that Matoro has died, that feeling of almost being part of this universe as you share in the sorrow of the characters (Matoro’s sacrifice was way better than Tony Stark’s, sorry but not sorry).
And above all, you can’t re-create the feeling of having to wait two months for the next comic or the next book, or the movie to find out what happens next, and filling that time by making up your own storyline, and acting it out with your own toys.
Largely because the story unfolded through books and comics, and through the new wave of toys, and through the movies in some years, trying to re-create, even a close facsimile of that feeling just isn’t possible. And it breaks my heart for any kids I might have one day that I’ll never truly get to share this wonderful franchise with them.

power of love, part 16
Alternate ending S4: Steve has a habit of surviving near death experiences then getting sick for no reason. And Eddie and those fatal bat bites? After an impossible feat of mouth-to-mouth resuscitation from Steve, he’s mysteriously fixed. So, Eddie’s back to being banished, this time with Steve and Robin in tow. Eddie’s healing, but Steve isn’t… and life gets even more confusing, when Eddie develops feelings for Steve, which aren’t entirely unrequited...
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Part 7 Part 8 Part 9 Part 10 Part 11 Part 12 Part 13 Part 14 Part 15 Part 17 Part 18
Steve POV
Two soldiers escort Steve into the former Soviet base. He’s gotten his wrists cuffed behind his back, which makes his shoulder ache miserably. His bare feet are bruised and icy-cold—much worse than in the stupid ditch—and his thoughts race as wildly as his pulse:
The army is using the Soviet base. Okay, I was right about that. I was right and it sucks, because Robin was righter, and I have no clue what I’m supposed to do. I can’t even hear the crazy-ass water thing anymore. Oh my God, oh my God!
The apparently endless corridor reaches a spacious hall with racks of weapons. It reminds Steve of somewhere the evil emperor would hang out in Star Wars. Talking of bad dudes—a guy with a shitload of medal ribbons paces over.
“Colonel O’Sullivan,” says one of Steve’s guards. “This one says he’s Eddie Munson.”
A small tank loaded with an antiaircraft gun rolls by. Steve disguises a sniffle behind a mocking laugh. “I’m flattered. Did I make the FBI most-wanted list?”
“If you mean ‘did Eddie Munson make it?’ then no,” says O’Sullivan, matter-of-factly. “You and I both know he didn’t murder those kids. It is simply convenient for the public to believe so. Whereas you, Steve Harrington?” Steve can’t suppress a flinch, and clings to his only comfort—Eddie got away. “I get why you lied. You’re up to your ears in far worse trouble, so let’s cut to the chase. Where’s the girl, Steve?”
“What girl?”
O’Sullivan raises his arm sharply. Steve’s gotten a sudden urge to shout, I work for Scoops Ahoy. He’s gonna get hit, and it’s not going to go well, and all his worst fears rip through him like a tornado:
I died here before. Unless I dreamed it all, and what happened with the weather was JUST THE GODDAMN WEATHER, and I never drowned, and I don’t have superpowers, and it’s all a mad coincidence, and I’ve literally gone nuts.
O’Sullivan, nevertheless, hasn’t hit him. Instead, he presses a hand to Steve’s back, above his cuffed wrists. He steers Steve around to look across the vast room. “You see this impressive facility?”
Steve slows his shuddering breaths enough to say: “G-got these things called eyes. Can’t exactly m-miss it.”
“It was built by the Soviet invaders,” continues O’Sullivan. “We shouldn’t give them too much credit. These tunnels beneath Hawkins were already here. Some of them were old waterways, and others—Brenner’s pet made those. With the power of her twisted mind.”
That is a total bunch of bull!
O’Sullivan turns to confront Steve, his face carved with stern lines. “Do you not understand? We are being gentle, because of your age and medical history. Nevertheless, those who protect Eleven are traitors to this country. Traitors must be eliminated. SHE must be eliminated.”
O’Sullivan keeps talking. Blah, blah, blah! Steve tunes out, anger simmering way hotter than his fear. He doesn’t even know El that well. She’s still one of the kids. His kids. I’d do anything to protect them. Anything… Anything.
Finally, he feels the water, thrumming in his blood. Even better, he’s starting to get it.
That scream. That fire-and-fucking-fury tide sweeping through the tunnels. These are waterways, carved by nature, ancient and beautiful. At least, they were once. Like Lovers Lake, they’ve been violated by the Vecna and the Upside Down. Then by the Soviets and now by these knuckleheads, who seem little better…
He hears that strange voice again, the caressing whisper that drew him here: You are home, Steve. You know what you must do.
To be fair, he’s not exactly sure. All the same, he jerks his chin up, curls his lip: “I’m not gonna tell you shit.”
“Poor decision, son.” O’Sullivan nods emphatically at some guy hovering behind Steve. “Put him in with the other one. Let’s see what happens.”
“The other one? What the f—? Who!?!” Steve’s bravado dies in an instant. Oh my God, they caught Robin, and I’m gonna have to do something, and I still don’t know how! I can’t let them hurt her. Oh crap! OH CRAP!
His knees sag, and he’s scared his feet will fly from under him. The guards grab his arms and drag him away.
A door swings open, revealing a small box of a room. Steve absorbs the sight of Eddie curled in a corner, bare footed also, spattered with mud. The world stops spinning for several seconds. Then Steve’s uncuffed, shoved inside, and the door slams closed behind.
Eddie scrambles up, more doe-eyed and crumpled than ever. Steve lunges forward, grabbing him by the front of his t-shirt and shaking him hard: “You total braindead moron! What the hell are you doing here?”
Eddie POV
Eddie has spent the last ten minutes picking at his dirty nails and going completely out of his head. Then the door flies wide, and Steve is pushed into the poky cell-like room.
He stares at Eddie through a mass of messy hair, with huge eyes that seemed to have swallowed the anger and pain of an entire galaxy. A dozen resentful thoughts riff through Eddie’s head, ending with: Oh, Stevie, Sweetheart. Not you too.
He launches himself out of the corner where he’s wedged himself. He’s about to fling his arms around Steve, when Steve grabs him by the front of his t-shirt and shakes him so hard his teeth rattle: “You total braindead moron! What the hell are you doing here?”
Eddie shoves him off: “What d’ya think I’m doing? Come for the vibes? Oh, and thanks for the note. Real touching, man.”
“Yeah, that was a bust, seeing as HERE YOU ARE, HAWKINS’ MOST DIMWITTED FREAKSHOW!” Steve rubs his wrists, then squares his shoulders with a touch of King Steve swagger, that… Oookay, this does not ring true. “You know what? I’m happy these suckers didn’t get one of my real friends—you do make me wanna hurl. You know that?”
“Why are you spouting this crap?” He scans Steve quickly, seeking any obvious fresh injury. “You’re not being straight with me. What happened? Did they hurt you?”
Steve’s teeth pinch his lower lip, stained red where he’s repeatedly chewed it. Then the barest whisper: “No… no. You?”
“No. Oh Christ, Stevie, I get it, okay? What you wrote.” Eddie moves in for the hug again. Steve jolts away super-quick. Eddie jolts too, half-expecting to be headbutted.
“I had everything handled, and now… now… I HATE YOU!” yells Steve. Then, leaning closer, impossibly soft: “They’re watching us, Eddie, I’m sure. If they think I care, they’ll hurt you to get me to talk and… and Jesus Christ, I haven’t a clue what’s real anymore. All I know is I’m sorry… and I need to kiss you.”
Steve’s mouth barely brushes Eddie’s, yet the tingling, breathy warmth, the goddamn undiluted sweetness—it slams a sledgehammer blow straight into Eddie’s heart. Then Steve moans, sways backward.
Goddamit, he kissed me. Oh shit, and he wasn’t kidding. I MAKE HIM SICK!
Eddie lunges to catch Steve, never makes it. The door swings open again, and Steve collides with that instead.
To Eddie’s relief, Steve’s not totally out of it. He rights himself, shakes his head blearily. A dude with a ton of ribbons and shiny gold bling—the dreaded Colonel O’Sullivan, Eddie guesses—steps in, flagged by a couple of his henchmen.
One of them grabs Steve, wrenching his arms behind him. O’Sullivan regards Eddie like something he’s scraped off the bottom of his boot, then performs a smart about-turn and seizes Steve’s drooping chin.
“Tell us what you know about the girl, Harrington. Or Loverboy’s gonna wish he’s never been born.”
Part 17
...
I promise good things will happen for these two starting next chapter… Sorry for the cliffy, but it’s all in the name of my stupid plot (for what it’s worth!)

I personally love headcanoning the idea that Leonard actually does have a relationship with his nephews.
I mean, I would’ve loved it if we had gotten to learn more or been introduced to Leonard siblings and maybe see that they themselves certainly dealt with their own hurdles with having Beverly as a mom. There’s no way anyone can convince me that she didn’t do damage to all 3 of her kids and I’m sure Leonard’s big sister (I hc her name is Katherine) and their little brother Michael both had their own unhealthy relationships with their “Scientist Always, Mother Never” parent.
We know from what Leonard has said that his little brother was a bit of a dick to him so maybe any reconnect between the two would take longer, but Leonard doesn’t say anything negative about his big sister so what if they actually reconnected and started to mend that bridge? Getting closure now that they’re both adults - I think I remember his big sister is supposed to be like six or seven years older than him?
So picture this: It’s pre-Penny moving into the building, Leonard has been Sheldon’s established roommate for a while, and maybe he gets a surprised call from Katherine - she’s shocked too at having made the call - cuz she’s gonna be in the LA area for a medical conference thing and she’s been battling with herself to get in touch with Leonard to catch up… Cue them meeting up, some initial awkwardness thanks to being estranged siblings, but eventually they put the cards on the table and fuss up about their fucked up childhoods - maybe Katherine having felt guilt for not protecting her brothers from their mom but she was a kid too - and things start to mend between the two of them.
Things move along with the continued mending of their relationship with emails and phone calls - Leonard gets to know his brother-in-law better and gets to spend more time with his nephews outside of just occasional family holidays. It’s a little slice of healing pie in the Hofstadter books.
Penny eventually moves in and gets to see a normally shy Leonard - imagine this happening early on in the show when they are still getting to know each other - act loud and silly with his little nephews when his sister drops them off to visit while she and her hubby have work stuff and they know the boys would be bored to tears at these events. I know that apparently Leonard sister ends up having five boys in total but maybe at the start it was just 3 under the age of 11.
Howard calling the boys - Hoflings (Hofstadter + Clings cuz they cling onto their fun uncle Leonard)
Sheldon barely tolerates these visits despite the boys being very polite and not leaving messes, but Raj and Howard have a blast monkeying around with them.
I guess I just want Leonard to have a little bit of happiness when it comes to his family and I would like to think that if he did get a chance to interact with his nephews and niece (apparently Michael has a baby girl with his wife) that he would follow his Uncle Floyd’s influence and maybe be an even better uncle. I just doubt that either one of his siblings would put their kids through the same shit they went through so they definitely wouldn’t follow Beverly’s parenting styles.
Based on our agreement I am gonna share my HC on the activities with fun uncle Leonard
>regular visits at the comic book store (obviously) =>nephews sometimes spending their pocket money there =>rarely but happily Uncle Leonard buys them a small gift
>Leonard, Raj & Howard invent a kids' version of D&D so they can play with Leonard's nephews
>Raj & Howard are being called uncle as well and Leonard's heart overflows with joy
>at least once a year a Star Wars Marathon Sleepover with snacks with Star Wars-ish names for the snacks
>if his nephews and nieces would want that Leonard would play sports with them and go to indoor playgrounds
>he would take them to work and let them do some cool physics experiments

Caitriona Balfe is never short of something to say.
Caitriona Balfe in Quotes: Here are 13 funny and interesting things the Outlander star has said about fame, acting and love
She’s won multiple awards for her role opposite Sam Heughan in hit time travel drama Outlander – and the show is just one of the subjects she’s happy to have her say on.
Born in Dublin in 1979, Caitriona Balfe always planned to be an actor, studying drama at the Dublin Institute of Technology.
But at the age of 18 she was scouted by an modelling agent at the age of 18 while collecting charity money at a supermarket and quickly became successful – closing fashion shows around the world for the likes of Chanel, Givenchy, Dolce & Gabbana, Moschino, Alberta Ferretti and Louis Vuitton.
A minor role in the 2006 film The Devil Wears Prada saw her return to acting and she moved to LA in 2009 to focus on her first love, winning parts in films including Super 8, Now You See Me, and Escape Plan.
Global fame beckoned when she signed up to play Claire Fraser in the Starz historical drama series Outlander in 2014. Since then the six series of the hit show filmed in Scotland have earned her a British Academy Scotland Award, an Irish Film and Television Award, two People's Choice Awards, three Saturn Awards, two Critics' Choice Television Awards nominations, and four Golden Globe Awards nominations.
Here are 13 interesting quotes from her many interviews.

1. Caitriona Balfe on...visiting Glasgow
"I was at a restaurant in Glasgow, and I was walking down the stairs. A woman passed me and said, 'Oh my God, what are you doing here?' I didn't know who she was, and I was like, 'Sorry?' She goes, 'Oh no, sorry, I follow you on Twitter. I just didn't expect to see you here.'"

2. Caitriona Balfe on...the Highlands
"The Scottish Highlands are incredible. There seems to be magic and poetry everywhere."

3. Caitriona Balfe on...love
"There is a moment in your story when you can pinpoint the exact time you fell in love, be it with a place or a person. I can remember both like it was yesterday."
Tumblr media
Photo: Jeff Mitchell
4. Caitriona Balfe on...loss
"How do people move on after they've lost the love of their life? It's a really interesting thing to look at. It happens to people every day: you see people... even in the worst, most war-torn places, people get up and continue with their lives. And it's a fascinating thing about human nature. That ability to just continue on."

5. Caitriona Balfe on...her Outlander character
"While 'Outlander' is a brilliant period show, Claire represents so many qualities of a 20th century modern-day woman: someone who is forging her own path, fighting for what she believes, and doing so with integrity."

6. Caitriona Balfe on...sleep
"For me, if I have the choice between an extra 45 minutes in bed or getting up at 4:30 A.M. to go to the gym, I will always choose bed."

7. Caitriona Balfe on...progress
"The people who used to hold the purse strings were a select group of white, middle-aged men, but that's changing, and the more it continues to change, the more we'll see inclusive stories get told."
Tumblr media
Photo: Momodo Mansaray
8. Caitriona Balfe on...modelling
"Modelling wasn't a passion of mine, so that made it get old kind of quickly. I was getting very frustrated."
Tumblr media
Photo: Vivien Killilea
9. Caitriona Balfe on...having a career before acting
"I'm just so glad that I started acting when I did because I had this wealth of life experience. I don't know if I'd have been able to handle it had I gone out to LA at 22."
This is where Brian reached his 10-photo Tumblr limit. 🙄
10. Caitriona Balfe on...being a modern woman
"I think women today are really struggling with these dual roles: How do you have a full-time career and be ambitious and still take care of your family?"
11. Caitriona Balfe on...Paris
"It's true, you never forget your first love, and, for me, that will always be Paris."
12. Caitriona Balfe on...starring in a period drama
"I never thought of myself doing period. When you're in your acting classes, and you think about the kind of roles you want to play, it's always 'modern relationship drama'-type things."
13. Caitriona Balfe on...women in film and television
"Every so often, we - women in film and TV - get annoyed and frustrated. We kick up a fuss and make some gains. But then we become complacent, and things slide backwards again until the next generation comes up and gets frustrated again."
The Scotsman
Remember… for me, if I have the choice between an extra 45 minutes in bed or getting up at 4:30 A.M. to go to the gym, I will always choose bed. — Caitríona Balfe

You posted a small taste of butch obi wan. Wanna post a big post about butch obi wan? :))
yes !!!!!!!!!!!!!! finally have the time 2 make this post long awaited by all (u n me)
ill do some basics here I think! ask away if u wanna know anything specific :]
butch obi-wan very early realised she didn't want to be a girl, but took a few years to realise she didn't have to either
(keep reading and consensually experience my ramble!)
when Anakin meets her @ nine years old, our butch looks pretty similar to how obi-wan (boy) looked at that age but she has yknow tits etc etc (THOUGH she does bind her chest like uhh everyone else bc that's how I headcanon star wars bras TM it's a long story) so idk she looks boyish, Anakin thinks she's a boy, and qui-gon explains she's not!
going into her twenties and early thirties, obi-wan is no longer boyishly gangly she has muscles !!! she's buff and strong !!!!!! "the strongest master in the world ever!!!!!!!" - Anakin, like 11 years old
I'm a little torn on whether she keeps her hair short or not.... I think it used 2 b long and when it was, it was Always braided either tight in a crown braid or sth similar (she teaches Anakin to braid her own hair at some point, and Anakin took and still takes to the crown braids) anyways when it was long it was an honour to see it loose but now it's a mullet, or in the words of an Older Master at the temple (Jocasta nu) "Business in the front, party at the back"
Anyways in my silly lil universe butch obi-wan still comes from stewjon I think but I also think stewjon is having sort of a friend of Dorothy's situation going on so idk! maybe she is maybe she's not and it's an in-universe metaphor maybe it's both!
lastly have a lil snippet from my wip ab her relationship w the clones! (sorry ab the formatting..... tumblr is tumblrin.)
"The war has slithered her slimy hands through Obi-Wan’s hair and left grey stripes in her wake, but she carries them with poise, as handsome as ever. She goes everywhere with poise it seems, carrying her own little pocket of peace into war zones. Everyone who needs it is welcomed into it for a little respite. On the rare occasion she’s lounging in one of the rec rooms, it doesn’t take long before there’s a little gaggle of troopers around her.  There might be a dozen other, more comfortable chairs, but people seem to just gravitate to the ones closest to Obi-Wan’s chair. It is not that she is very entertaining company at all times. Sometimes the general just sits and reads an archival document and sometimes she is sipping her spicy tea (nobody knows where it is from nor why it’s about the only spicy thing she will eat or drink, but General Skywalker is often seen drinking the same tea, although in her case it’s the fact it is tea and not that it’s spicy that is puzzling) and sometimes, if you’re lucky, she will join a game of Sabaac and sweep the table. "
ALSO she's got a soundtrack !!!!!

Ninjago: Crystalized Redemption (Calling All Artists)
Tumblr media
You guys asked for it.
Yes, I have officially started the work of a full on season rewrite of the final season of Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitsu.
I say 'final' because Dragons Rising is a sequel show. Kind of like the Star Wars sequel trilogy. That doesn't count.
I think we can all agree that an 11 year story we've all grown up with deserves a better conclusion that ties everything together into a grand finale that's entertaining, action packed, heartfelt, and maybe a tear jerker?? (We'll have to see)
I swear there's more cartoons that's endings crash and burn than ones that actually work. (Star Vs, Steven Universe, blah blah other stuff) What is up with that?
In actuality, and this may come as a shock, I don't hate this season as much as everyone else seems to, though I do agree with pretty much all the complaints. I think Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitsu is a worse season personally. But Crystalized has a lot more requirements to fulfill than that, and is even more disappointing as a result.
And I do have experience with rewrites, as I also rewrote Total Drama Action, which you guys seemed to really like that. So thanks for the confidence.
However, this has far higher stakes than that... my luck.
Anyway, I am currently working on the outline of the rewrite as we speak. It is still going to be 30 episodes, 11 minutes each. However, some episodes will not have the same titles as canon, because from my structure so far, it's not the same as the show.
The rewrite will be posted here, and we will be going episodic once we feel the rewrite is good and ready, so stay tuned.
And here's the purpose of this post:
You know in my TDA rewrite posts where I had some of those bad quality images showcasing a scene?
I'm going to allow fan artists to get a moment to shine and shed some love to the show with this.
And also help with criticisms towards my outlines and drafts of the rewrite, to make this work. Or if you have any crazy ideas for the story you want to suggest.
On a discord, I have a server for artists and potential writing editors.
This is where I'll be posting my outlines for episodes when I get them done, and on that server, artists can draw out the scenes. (Any scene, from the show or a completely new scene I add)
If I think the artwork is good, I'll add it to the post of the episode where viewers can get a great visual of the rewrite, and you will get a shoutout for your Tumblr blog.
This is also a place for said artists to suggest ideas for the narrative or scenes, so I can get a perspective on what people want to see. Criticize my outline or drafts so I can fix that before I officially post the episode, or otherwise.
Any art style will be allowed. You can replicate the show's style, or do your own, I will allow that. I do have some rules with that and it will be said on the discord too: Age appropriate. This is still a kids media. (Very high chance your work won't be on the post if you break that rule) In terms of non-lego artstyles, in the discord we will agree on a certain look for certain characters so that the story is consistent. We're not gonna have one image with massive bulky Cole and another where he's the same side as the others, that's what I'm getting at. We'll decide collectively what works, and I'll have some people make specific character designs as a board for other artists to use.
Also, this is unpaid. This gonna be for fan artists who love the show and want to help me give Ninjago the ending it deserved. And if they just want to get recognized and credited for their work.
What's on the discord stays on the discord and should not be posted on any other platform, unless you go to me first and get permission. We'll see what happens ninja artists.

20 Questions for Fic Writers!
Tagged by @hydriotaphia
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
93 on AO3, with more on ff.net and LJ.
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
401,235
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Currently writing for Crows Zero.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos
Control (Batman fandom - explicit; slash)
They can try to imagine (Avatar: the last airbender fandom - explicit; slash)
Thorin & the three lovers (Hobbit fandom - mildly explicit; slash)
An enlightening experience (Star Wars fandom - gen)
Children (Batman Nolanverse fandom - slash)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Um, I want to say yes but often I get lazy and the days pass and then it's just awkward to write a response saying 'this is so late but ty' to a comment that came in weeks ago.
Also, if you've enjoyed the fic and just want to let me know you appreciated it on a general level, I'm perfectly fine with kudos. I see comments as being a way to fangirl over something (either in my fic or related to my fic) that you'd like to share. I'll probably respond immediately to a comment that says more than 'thanks for writing' because there's something personal to engage with there.
So tl;dr - I try, but don't always.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Ooh. Well, I'm a sucker for happy and/or hopeful fic, so angst tends not to show up often in my works. Possibly the most teenager-y angsty fic would be most of my Labyrinth fic on ff.net (special mention to Mature in Stages and the entire Bond of... series).
But recent fic on AO3 would have to be Making Do (Lewis fandom - slash)
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Ah, I'd pick The Following (Hobbit fandom - everybody lives, mildly parodic humour fic)
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Never. I just assume most people are mature enough to roll their eyes and back out of any of fic that they start reading and find problematic.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Definitely! (coughControlcough). Mostly slash fic, running the gamut of vanilla to kinky.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
I do love the occasional crossover. Strangest one would have to be a tie: Patterns (Batman/ Velvet Goldmine crossover) and In Flashes (Batman/ Law & Order crossover).
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes, I've been very honoured to have a couple translated:
Blue (NaPolA/ Before the Fall - Russian translation by aldandersss)
Ten Heats (Crows Zero - Mandarin translation by DelusionClassic)
Aaaand now going through the comments shows me that I've missed several requests for permission to translate, I think I'll put a blanket permission statement up on my profile and may on my fics.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Nope. And I don't beta because I tend to re-write rather than properly beta, Which is not fair to the actual author.
14. What’s your all-time favourite ship?
Lol. Any ship I'm currently shipping! But I guess it would have to be Fedal (Federer/Nadal - the only Real Person pairing I break my 'real person fic is a hardline no' rule for).
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I tend not to publish until I have all chapters written but I do have one I'd love to muster the drive to finish - A Disappearing World (and a Bygone Age) (Star Wars; Sound of Music! AU).
16. What are your writing strengths?
I have a basically decent narrative style, I guess, and I take time to edit drafts so I can minimise spelling and grammatical errors as far as possible.
I suppose I have a fairly decent grasp of consequence and character logic (so if I interpret a character/ event/ plot point in a particular way, it generally tends to stay consistent in the fic) and a workman-like approach to description. So I churn out stuff that is perfectly suited to simple, unexceptional reading so long as you already want to read works for that particular fandom/ character(s)/ tag.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Energy. Tone. Depth. Foreshadowing. Layering. Pacing. Editing. Shall I go on? ;)
I can't write fic that is exciting, dramatic, parodic or wistful. I do broad-stroke writing but struggle with fine detail and evocation.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I'm all for it! I think if it fits your story or is canonical, it can be poignant and atmospheric in fic. So long as you always include translations for it.
Personally, though, I'm not linguistically flexible. I tried using another language once and a kind reader had to correct me because I'd accidentally used German instead of Swiss German.
But I also think it shouldn't be just about dialogue in another language. Good writers can evoke cultural change or perspectives just from the way they style their dialogue and narrative tone. They don't need to write in another language to do this.
For example, I'm currently writing for Crows Zero, which is a movie prequel to the Japanese manga Crows. I've had to come to terms with the fact that I'm not a good enough writer or committed enough researcher to properly entrench my fic in Japanese life and culture as relevant to high school male delinquents. I try, but my work is clearly written by a fangirl who is not familiar with the correct assumptions, experiences, terminology.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Buffy. And kind of alongside it, Angel.
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
History (Crows Zero; Izaki/ Tokaji with a slight AU for accidentally getting their ages wrong) is my favourite as a reader.
it's the one fic I never get kudos or comments for (and I rarely get any for CZ anyway as it's quite dead on AO3), but History is the fic I keep coming back to for my own reading pleasure. It has everything I want for this pairing, and while I still can't write in the style that canon deserves, I love this version of how the pairing comes-together. I recreate it a bit with The night for lovers (same fandom, same pairing) but History gets it really right for me.
In terms of a favourite as a writer, I guess a tie between Control (Batman; Bruce/ Clark), History, and The Shadow of Ursa (ATLA - gen; AU given the sequel graphic novels).
All three have writing that either gets the correct reaction from readers or does something that I'm proud of.
Bonus: Favourite fic you haven't written?
Oh God, too many to count! Most recently:
Leoht Unfæger by AvaCelt (Beyond Evil; Lee Dong Sik/ Park Jeong-ji). I mean, this is how you write violent, emotional, active, character-driven sequels that expand and extend the canon while also focusing primarily on slash romance. It's beautiful.
This is me down on my knees by hydriotaphia (Bridgerton; ranges). Again, this elevates character study and emotion and rich, intense descriptions for me. I don't read Bridgerton, but when I read these chapters, I care about the characters. It has all the intensity I can never manage to achieve as a writer.
Все для тебя, моя принцесса! by Artaletta (Crows Zero; Izaki/ Tokaji) a fic in Russian which I use Google translate to read. According to Google translate, this fic is 'All for you, my princess', which should not work for high school delinquents but traps energy and life and romance into a perfectly interpreted version of the duty, grimy, ridiculous world of Suzaran All Boys High School. Somehow Artaletta has a sweet romantic tone (and not just because it works out happy) in a fic based on the premise of a character forcing sexual attention on another. But she balances the power dynamic, clear signage and dialogue so perfectly (even in Google Ttranslate) that it just works for me.
--------------
I have no one else to tag since I'm not often on Tumblr, but this was fun! Thanks, hydriotaphia!. ^_^

Writer 20 Questions
seen via @findswoman!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
58
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
177,314
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Dragon Age, fairy tale retellings, and one fic each for Sherlock Holmes and Batman
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
so Fade to Black and Fade to Black and Back, my two multi-chapter smut series for Star Wars Rebels, are I guess going to be my enduring fandom legacy lol. 637 kudos for the first and 452 for the second.
After that it's...more smut, but Talk About It is Dragon Age smut, and I guess my most popular stand-alone story at 399 kudos.
Then it's back to Star Wars Rebels, but Wedding Dance (377 kudos) is a gen fic, so that's my most popular non-smut piece. Braided at 320 kudos is another explicit one.
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I always mean to, but sometimes when a bunch come in at once I get overwhelmed. I try and go back and respond to unanswered comments every time I revisit an old fic. Just this week I answered a couple that were seven years old *wince*. It's never too late, right?
6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
That's Scenes From Rivendell, no question. I can still make myself cry re-reading that fic. Poor Celebcarch.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Most of them have happy endings really, but I'll say the happiest is Marriage of Convenience, because it was written to provide a happy ending for Alistair and Anora--and that's a pairing that only arises out of some pretty grief-laden circumstances in Dragon Age: Origins. So that's the fic that takes something sad and makes it better.
8. Do you get hate on your fic?
A couple times people have tried to chide me for writing smut, which is like ??? Did you not see ALL the warnings? My sister what were you even doing at the devil's sacrament?
9. Do you write smut?
I doooooo. Yes I do. I don't feel even a little bit bad about it, either.
Sex is important! It's one of the most intense, emotion-rich experiences in life! Especially in a love story--there is nothing that will tell you more about the dynamic between two people than showing how they have sex. And the smut is the part that's usually left out in mainstream media, so it's the big "missing piece" that I am often drawn to want to fill in, creatively.
10. Do you write crossovers?
I haven't, but it would be a fun challenge.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I'm aware of!
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes and it's the best feeling every time. Same for getting podfic made of my stories, or fanart. Just the best.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic?
No, but from rp experiences, I think collabs are absolutely the way to go if possible. It just gets lonely writing on your own, and having a partner keeps the energy up.
14. What‘s your all-time favorite ship?
Space pirate OCs. But excluding my own characters... man, I've had poor luck with my ships, honestly. Looking back through the characters I was really passionate about, canon screwed me one way or another on all of them. I loved Mulder/Scully, Xena/Gabrielle, and Kanan/Hera, and all of their shows went off the rails at the end, so I think about them all with a tinge of sadness now.
It's better to love your own characters, because then at least when you make awful things happen to them, it doesn't come as a surprise.
15. What’s the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
My only current WIP is a kid's book, and I hope I do finish it!
16. What are your writing strengths?
Dialog, and also there's a sort of lyrical register that I can shift into pretty easily (it's a trick I often use for endings).
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Oh, self-indulgence. Things like writing about Kanan's seaglass eyes, or people "growling" their dialog. Cheese, basically. I don't rein myself in too much for fanfic, but in original writing I have to be strict with edits because if I don't force myself to stay spare and restrained, I'm probably getting cheesy with it.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
Tricksy, very tricksy! It's certainly not something you can just hand off to Google Translate. I personally wouldn't do it unless I had some first hand experience with the language, or could consult with native speakers.
Funny story on that, for the space pirate novel, I had a bit where I needed an automated warning looping in various languages. The English was "Warning! Please evacuate the building!"
I asked my Russian friend to give me a translation, and he said I'd need to do some cultural translation first, because the Russian "would be a lot more direct. And they wouldn't say 'please.'" So he gave me Vnimaniye! Vyhodi zdaniye! which apparently translates more directly to "Attention! Exit building."
That's the kind of thing Google Translate can't do for you.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
X-Files. This was Usenet days. Alt.tv.x-files. Many many memories. At one point there was a spinoff group so we could roleplay, but not roleplay being in the show, exactly. Just like all living in a town. It was almost a proto-Tumblr.
I miss Usenet.
20. Favorite fic you’ve ever written?
It might be The Last of the Rebel Angels: that one's not the best, I don't think, but it's the weirdest and most ambitious. I had something to say, and even if I only managed to sketch it out or gesture at it, there's still a really tender place in my heart for that fic.
Any fic writers who'd like to fill out the questions, please consider yourselves tagged!

“Are we too far apart? Two worlds among the stars? You’re gonna take a piece of my heart if you leave... So it’s two separate ways, Or am I too late to say, I wanna fight for what we got? ‘Cause I believe in family...in family...”
~“Family” by TobyMac
x~x~x~x
I gotta say, I didn’t think I’d become so attached to Carewyn’s youngest cousin Tristan when I decided to write for him in that one drabble I did, but...yeah, here he ended up as a young adult with Carewyn in my sketchbook! Go figure! XD
But yeah, this is Tristan Cromwell, age 18, and dressed to the Goth Victorian nines. Yes, that is his aesthetic -- he would’ve 150% been that Tim Burton-obsessed weirdo kid, if he’d been raised in the Muggle World. I see this being him reaching out to his now-nearly-30-year-old cousin Carewyn at the Ministry of Magic, specifically talking at that one fountain in the center Atrium, which has gone through some changes since its pre-Wizarding-War days and especially since the Wizarding War itself. As you can see, Tristan’s grown up a lot since he appears in that drabble -- a bit personality-wise, yes, but definitely physically. Tristan ends up being the tallest and lankiest of all the Cromwells at 5′11″, making him both an inch taller than his father and the same height as his deceased grandfather, Charles. It also means he towers over Carewyn, the smallest Cromwell at 5′3″.
Despite his and Carewyn’s differences, though, Tristan as a young adult really becomes all the more motivated to fix the rift in his broken family. (I’m not joking, while working on this, I must have played Scott Shattuck’s cover of Waiting on a Miracle a good twenty times, imagining it as a theme for adult!Tristan.) As Blaise’s only son and heir, he’s presumed to be the one who’ll have to take on the mantle of leadership for the Clan, even while the youngest of the Cromwell cousins, so Tristan feels an obligation to do what his father has been unable to and bring Carewyn, Jacob, and Lane back into the fold. One lesson Tristan does internalize that Blaise never does, however, is that love is about sacrifice, not just possessive control...a lesson bolstered by his interactions with his favorite "bastard cousin,” Carewyn. I could even see Tristan seeking out Carewyn’s help with getting a position at the Ministry as an adult, since his father’s influence is far less than Charles’s was back in the day and Tristan’s lack of real-world experience, connections, and social skills hampers him in his job search.
“I’m a Cromwell! I’m not supposed to have to struggle to get the respect owed me.”
Fortunately for however proud and entitled Tristan is thanks to Blaise’s toxic influence, he also is painfully aware of his duty to his family and is determined to be the best Head he can be...even if it required him taking a desk job he’d be miserable at.
“Wouldn’t I, what, prefer to do something else? Obviously. I’ve been locked up inside nearly my whole life -- you don’t think I don’t wish every day I could just pack my bags and go running off into the sunset on some whirlwind adventure, the way your brother does? Hell, reckon even your precious Quidditch player’s able to do that sometimes, with how much travel he must get up to...
“...But...I can’t. Not when it’d break Father’s heart. Not when the whole Clan needs leadership, and just about all of them presume it has to be me. It’s not like it could be anyone else, really. Elmer’s not the leadership sort, and Arsen and Kain...they can’t even score a promotion with the Hitwizards, let alone take charge of the Clan. And Heather, Dahlia, and Iris, feh -- the Manor would probably get burned to the ground in a week if they called the shots.
“I was raised to do this, by my father. I have to do this, the way he has -- but I can’t do it his way. Not just because the Cromwell name’s been tarnished and Father can’t help me get ahead the way Grandfather did for him, but because...well...”
“...You’re not your father.”
“...Yes. And...if anything is going to get better, with our family...if I’m ever going to make things right...I can’t be like him, either. No matter how much I love him and no matter how much I want to make him proud...if I’m going to make that dream come true, I have to do things my way.
“So just...put in a good word for me, will you? Maybe Father’s word doesn’t have weight here at the Ministry, but yours does. You’re the Ministry’s Star Prosecutor, after all. Even if I do have to be stuck indoors all day, well, at least it’ll be a different ‘indoors.’ And I know Father will be pleased, if I ended up in your Department. Sure he’ll see it as the perfect excuse to try to lure you back home...”
Tristan’s lips were curled up in an amused, mischievous smirk, when he said this: one that made him more closely resemble that thirteen-year-old boy Carewyn had seen back at the Cromwell Manor during the War.
As one can expect, Carewyn didn’t flaunt her influence around to get Tristan a job the way he wanted...but, feeling some compassion for her cousin, she did line up several promising Ministry internship opportunities for him -- one with the Department of International Magical Cooperation, one in the Department of Magical Games and Sports’s office closer to Quidditch League Headquarters, one at St. Mungo’s sponsored by the Accidental Magical Reversal Squad, and even three for the Department of the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. None of those opportunities, however, were in Wizarding Law.
Sorry, Tristan -- but I think you’ve had more than enough of being stuck indoors.
After much deliberation, Tristan selected one of the internships for the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, specifically the one that required him to work with the Dragon Research and Restraint Bureau, exploring more humane methods of transport for the creatures across Muggle-occupied areas. Tristan’s extensive knowledge of magical creature anatomy ended up being very helpful in this task -- though the best part of the experience, by far, ended up being when he was able to finally see a real-life Welsh Green for the first time. After only ever knowing such creatures as models and drawings in books, Tristan almost couldn’t breathe when he was able to actually reach out and touch one, with his own hands.
Blaise would probably be more than a little disconcerted about his son ending up so close to such a dangerous creature -- but in that moment, Tristan couldn’t keep the huge grin off his face as he ran a hand gently along the dragon’s comb, rubbing his wet eyes on his sleeve. He’d never been so happy in all his life.

What's your favorite video game? Judging by your banner I'll guess it's TF2, but I dunno
You know it’s hard to answer. Halo 2,3 ODST has a huge place in my heart where when I was growing up we would bring Xbox and 360 consoles and TVs together and play death match, CTF, SWAT rules, and we would have 6-10 people playing together in junior high and high school. We loved forge in Halo 3, we made Some of the best nights of of my life for sure. Most of my lifelong friends are from that circle. We’d also play Gears of War and other games but we called them “Halo Nights”. Of them maybe Halo 3 is the best overall with all it offers. Halo:CE campaign is the best. I remember being maybe 10-11 and playing Guilty spark 343 for the first time and scared so shitless doing so. The music and ambient tracks still scare me to this day like nothing else.
For individual gaming experiences, maybe Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic. Mass effect didn’t end well, and KOTORs system is quite aged, but if you are playing FEAR, and if you love good story based RPGs you would love that. Pillars of Eternity is incredible on that same vein. Loved STALKER, look forward to the new one. All amazing but for the above reasons has to be Halo. I’m gutted by what’s happened to my childhood game now but it’s not Bungie at the reins.
The funny thing is when I see what kids are often socially pushed into as gaming like Fortnite Valorant and the excessive advertising and gambling I feel like I came into the golden age of gaming as a young kid, so in many respects I’m quite fortunate. But now I think there’s a huge encyclopedia of games that you can look back on, that graphically have aged but their mechanics and storytelling ring pure to this day.

10-15?
10. How do you decide what to write?
I tend to decide what to write based on spite. If I see something that suggests a headcanon or chraracterization I don't agree with, I tend to write something offering another point of view to it.
11. Are you partial to a certain character/pairing or are you more equal-opportunity? If you are partial to any character/pairing, why do you think that is?
It depends on the Fandom. For marvel, I'm way more equal opportunist. For Star Wars I'm more set in a handful of pairings. I tend to enjoy Obi-Wan pairings that bring out his inner gremlin like Quinobi and Codywan (although it is a rare thing for people to write codywan in a way that features Cody being weird and Obi-wan being weird back). Obi-wan is an interesting character to me because he is in denial of how dramatic he is and i enjoy when other characters bring it out of him either as a foil or a co-conspirator.
I like Din ships a lot, especially Bobadin, Dinluke, Dincobb (I'm new here). I tend to prefer Din in loose polyships because he doesn't come across to me as someone who would be comfortable spending their life with one person and one person only.
I do enjoy Obimaul in a gentle sort of way, in terms of both of them having a shitload of experiences and values in common but being too headstrong and grumpy to acknowledge it.
I am realizing now that I tend to like ships that make people as obnoxious as possible.
12. Are there any tropes you used to dislike but have grown on you?
I dislike a lot of tropes, specifically around characterization. There are ships that I've def changed my mind on, but not too often tropes.
13. Are there any tropes you used to like but don’t anymore?
Yeah fuckin arranged marriage for dinluke. Used to find it nice enough but now it's just terrible because people don't know how to act and no one fuckin writes humor in star wars. Jesus Christ we don't have to win the war in every fic.
14. Are there any tropes you would only read if written by a trusted friend or writer?
Oh yeah
Marriage of convenience, Age Reversal, modern AU, Hauntings, horror, oc-centric fics, and so on. I'm a picky person and don't trust anyone, I'm very sorry.
15. What’s your favorite AU that you’ve written?
I think I answered this already but for now I'll say "parallelogram" just for Boba in that fic.

for the fic wip ask meme - could you tell us more about your dinluke vampire au fic? I want to know more about the lore and stuff
Let me preface this by saying I might cry 😭
Thank you (the imposter syndromes rlly been hitting different lately and this makes me feel better)
Ask me a fic question!
Lore and stuff is a grey area, but I've made a post about how vampires in my story came to be from a previous ask.
Instead, I'll talk about how i designed Luke's upbringing and how I slotted him and vampire!Leia into the original plot of the OT!
Here goes, thank you so much:
I wrote the first chapter of BBB on a whim, fully expecting it to go completely under the dinluke radar, and it turns out people liked it! I thought for a while about how a vampire could exist in star wars, and I came to the conclusion that Luke would be veiled, susceptible to the occasional blood cravings, and a hopeless insomniac (due to his kind being nocturnal).
First of all, how would this fare with Tatooine being his place of upbringing?
Well, Shmi raised Anakin, learned all she could, and taught it to Beru (link to this piece is up there ^ how vampires came to be) so, Beru learned after taking in Luke that she would have to feed him blue milk and fruit to suppress the blood cravings and dress him in many layers to avoid sunburn and sickness.
(Leia's adoptive parents did not have this knowledge, this is talked about in Ch2, Where Fruit Doesn't Grow) here's a snip to explain:
~~~..... about Luke ->
Shmi had taught Beru everything she knew before her brutal murder: how to keep a vampire’s fragile skin healthy, how to make the medicines and pastes needed for burns out of cheap herbs you could find at any market, and, especially, how to appease the appetite of an adolescent with a craving for blood. Despite the troubles with two suns, and Luke’s often reckless behaviour, on a planet where life was scarce, food was their biggest problem.
Beru had never let that stop her. Whether it meant long hour shifts or staying out late at night to kill and sell large creatures, she always made sure she had saved enough money to buy Luke’s favourite treats from the local fruit import at the end of each ten-day. That, and bantha milk, seemed to cut off need for red meat for a short while, and Luke would be forever grateful that he didn’t have to live the way he was born.
Even if being “normal” meant sneaking out to eat fruit and climb trees each night.
And while Beru was almost always busy, convinced that it was her job to provide for the child she loved so much, Uncle Owen stayed home. He taught Luke how to fix rusty parts of vapour spires, or how to cook simple dishes, while his wife taught Luke how to use a farmer’s rifle.
~~~..... about Leia ->
She’d been loved, cared for, she’d taken on the role of Princess and then Senator at a younger age than many simply because of her powerful and intelligent role models.
But they didn’t know how to raise a vampire.
Leia would run away, climb trees and watch the starships fly by from the canopies. A life without the rules that Luke had lived by, but it had left her susceptible to sun-sickness and often heatstroke. All things had their price.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So, that was that bit covered, but how does this work with the original trilogy? The bits we see, anyway?
I'll go into what I did in ch10 and 11, a little into 9, and what I'll do in future to explain.
In ch10 and 11 we see (from a separate perspective that I can't tell you about unless you've read those chapters) Luke's return from blowing up the Death Star at the Battle of Yavin, and Luke's final victory after his duel with Vader and his punishment from Palpatine during the Battle of Endor.
In ch10, BY, as it isn't Luke's perspective, I don't need to go into depth about his senses, his experience, or the X-Wings tinted windows to block out harmful sunlight — this is all however referenced in previous and future chapters.
Neither did I have to in ch11 — again, we see it from someone else's view — but we do see a moment between Luke and Leia, where his sister is tending to his burn wounds.
Ch2: The scorching dash of white lightning that had climbed his skin and imprinted itself forever on his body.
Ch9: The flashing lights, rippling the starless sky like silver fish in a black lake, sent Luke back to the Emperor’s throne room on the second Death Star, writhing in the most agony he’d ever felt. It was worse than sunlight: a sensation of scorching heat, wrapping like vines around his body, unwilling to let go, and permanently damaging his skin when he had never before suffered any more than sun-sickness.
Finally, Ch11: The lightning had fractured him, left long, red cuts and burns along his toned body. They were even on his face, crossing his nose and either cheek in one long strike that split into thinner lines like the tributaries of a scorched, red river. His blue eyes were wet with tears, and his face morphed into an exhausted scowl.
Luke's skin — him being vampiric — is weak and easily scarred. When I rewatched RotJ, I immediately knew that I couldn't have him completely unscathed after the lightning incident, considering that just meer minutes in the sun causes him immense pain.
I know this is likely not what you asked for, and I know that I might’ve got a little too excited, but thank you so much for this (even if you are just a mutual who wants to make me feel better)
Here is some fanart that imma start tagging here as well:
So, what’s new in Sid Meier's Civilization VII? For starters, your choices will shape the cultural path of your empire. Since you’ll get to lead as one of many legendary leaders from history. And with each Age of human advancement, you can also choose a new civilization to guide your empire. It’s all about strategy and making the right moves at the right time. Ed Beach, the Creative Director at Firaxis, is pumped about this one. He said they’re bringing “revolutionary new features” like Ages, where you can mix and match leaders and civilizations to create unique gameplay bonuses. The new art style is also a big deal, making Sid Meier's Civilization VII the most ambitious Civ title ever. Dennis Shirk, the Executive Producer, added that they’re aiming for the most historically riveting title yet. Each Age is its own journey, with new civilizations, resources, and gameplay systems. The goal is to reach big milestones in science, culture, military, and economy within each Age. Which will also give you an edge in the next one.
Some Key Features:
One of the big features is the ability to evolve your empire as each new Age begins. You’ll have a pool of new civilization options to choose from, based on your past gameplay. This means your empire is due to keep getting stronger and more unique. Sid Meier's Civilization VII also features a diverse roster of leaders. From the usual heads of state to visionary figures in philosophy, science, and human rights. For the first time ever, you can also choose your leader separately from your civilization. While allowing for some pretty cool strategy combos. Visually, the title is stunning. The world is more detailed than ever, with diverse cultural styles in building architecture and unit design. Diplomacy and warfare feel more real with face to face dealings with other leaders. So as your empire grows, you’ll see your cities develop into vibrant metropolises. Multiplayer is going to be a key selling point. Since you can compete against other players online in epic multi-Age campaigns or shorter, single-Age games. Cross-play between your Linux PC and consoles means you can play with your friends no matter where they are. Sid Meier's Civilization VII aims to be enjoyable for everyone, whether you’re a series veteran or a newcomer. The tutorial has been overhauled to make it easier to jump in, and there are tons of gameplay improvements that even longtime fans will appreciate.
