There’s actually not much to analyze about this chapter ‘cause it’s simply well said. So I’ll be sharing my thoughts & feelings. This chapter has such a warm (with a hint of sad) end to a rollercoaster of an arc

I do kinda feel bad for Endo. In a way, he just has this longing and slow burn love for Chika and he just knew he can’t be seen by him the same way he sees Umemiya; being accepted in his world.

Endo gives him everything while he receives nothing (but punches and kicks).

No wait. This is adorable. TF. Endo expects a good hit from Chika but was ecstatic when the kick was harmless. Chika didn’t even give one hit but multiple soft hits??!! STAHP! That’s too cute.

The way Chika's fist froze when Endo mentioned a hot bath 🥲 He's tired af and being babied by Endo 😭

This confirms all the things he said to Sakura about Umemiya is his negative perspective of him. He DETESTS and is jealous of the guy who’s able to be in his Chika’s world.

Now…this is sad.

Something tells me Chika had a really bad experience with people at a very young age…or maybe had none at all :(

Maybe links to his probable face blindness. People who have such condition are usually mistaken to be cold or indifferent towards people, but it's because they have a hard time remembering people's faces. Although, in here, it sounds like his indifference to humans makes him develop face blindness. So I hope we get to hear more of Chika’s past in their talk.

Ah, there’s our Umemiya.

Come to think of it, since his biological family died, Umemiya was exposed to people from different walks of like who are not his blood since he was 9. He has grown and absorbed a vast world for 8-9yrs.

And he could truly tell Chika how amazing it is.

Without even realizing it, Chika actually made the first step to expanding his world. It started from the moment he accepted Umemiya. He even said Ume’s name before Ume told him this trick.

And now that he is aware of it, Chika looks like he decided to accept more people in his world, little by little.

(For some reason, maybe it's because his hair is drenched wet, but he looks lost here 🥺)

I SCREAMED. I knew it. And I’m not even an endochika stan. Oh Endo. Chika has acknowledged him 😫AND A FULL NAME!

(I actually thought we’ll have something dramatic like Togame & Choji crying scene but i dont think it’s ready for that lol)

No words were said but that smile and gesture says a lot. Both leaders didn���t lose. They kept each other's promises.

Umemiya is thankful, happy, and proud of Sakura. Not only for winning and being there for him, but for becoming the person he is now. He is glad his kouhai part of the found family, Bofurin 🥹💚

And we got a double COLOR spread of the two!! 😭😭😭 Thank you Nii sensei! This is beautiful 💚

I hope they get to talk after ALL that. Sakura was a bit shaken up in seeing Umemiya like that and I'm sure he has questions about what Endo meant. Either way, I'm sure Umemiya would want to chat with Sakura about his fight with Endo.

Side note: I LOVE the silly exchange between Umemiya and Endo 🤣most especially reading those small text beside the dialogue bubbles.

I can hear the sarcasm in the “since you didn’t even give half a sht about me before” 🤣🤣🤣

Ah what an end to a great long arc! What a wild ride that was. Hope we get that BBQ! All of them (us included) deserve it 😭

I'm with you on the whole weirdness thing. I'm so tired of having to censor myself to not bring "shame" on everyone who ships it.

Dw anon ur safe here. Do whatever you want forever. If both sides are going to be disappointed no matter what we do, we might as well have fun, eh?

There are things and topics I don’t talk about on my page - not because I don’t want to, or I think they’re shameful, or that I’m worried it’ll reflect badly on others. There are other topics I have no particular interest in, but I don’t think they need to be as heavily censored as they are. The reason I don’t share or interact with them is because it simply isn’t safe to. Because everyone’s idea of what is weird or inappropriate is different. And it’s become normalized that if you break these unwritten rules that you’re just supposed to know and agree with - despite them never being clearly defined - then you’re asking for a witchunt. And it’s your own fault for getting hurt because you stepped out of line. Because you didn’t just “behave”.

Antis think us shipping rg at all makes us -insert buzzwords here-. Then we turn around and people within our own walls say “so long as you don’t talk about this or make the characters do that, then you’re good”. For the most part, we know the antis will never accept us, which is manageable for some of us. It’s predictable. The problem truly lies in how much we have to walk on eggshells within our own spaces for risk of people who are supposed to be in our corner teaming up with the bullies on the outside. Because then nowhere is safe for us. That’s the reason so many people left. The reason so many people don’t engage. And it doesn’t foster creativity, it stifles it. It only fosters restriction and fear instead.

This isn’t to say that all these hidden rg shippers are all secretly into the nastiest stuff imaginable. I can confidently say that many of us are against or neutral about the topics, and many others - even the ones you think never would, even the ones that have made public attacks against that very content - are interested in it. Have had discussions, written stories or aus, or drawn things of that nature or anything in between… the only reason no one sees it or associates it with the ship and this community is because it only happens behind closed doors. Where it’s safe. Where there isn’t risk of bad actors or antis breaking in, taking screenshots, and sharing it around to induce harassment campaigns.

I use a lot of buzzwords myself when I talk about The Discourse (which I hope to stop making posts about after this ask because I promised this space would stay relatively free of it). But I am truly just repeating what I’ve researched of these phenomena from a bird’s eye view. There is significant overlap in online fandoms - from tv shows to celebrity stan culture - and systems of abuse. There’s overlap with violent political movements, co-opting of social justice tools that were never supposed to be used against each other for this, and even studies showing that the beliefs within these circles have significant overlap with cult tactics. Especially behavioural control and ostracization from the community of anyone that challenges the norm.

All of this is just to say: engage with fandom how you want to. Be kind to each other. Curate your spaces against content you don’t like without trying to control how others behave. Without harassing people. Find like minded people that are safe to share the things you want to talk about with, and share whatever you want or feel safe enough to publicly. The people who don’t respect us, who are always watching and waiting for us to slip up so they can attack, will never be satisfied. The goalpost will always be moving, and respectability politics - this oppressive belief that if we just behave we’ll be safe - makes us anything but.

Glitch talks about Rwby characters! (Because apparently I like pissing people off)

So this is an interesting one. This is less my normal rants about Rwby characters and more of a hybridization of my feelings of love... And hatred for this show. (There is a reason why apathy is the opposite of love. Hate and love are just passion going in two different directions. Apathy is a lack of passion)

Before I begin I'll simply be stating right here why I'm doing this. This is for fun and to bridge to casam between Rwde and the Fndm. Because while we fight eachother, the fact is that Rwde is still full of Rwby fans (I hope. Because otherwise I'm walking away.. or changing that shit by force-).. and also because I really wanna talk about the effects this show has had on me. (In my original works and my Rwby rewrite)

I should warn you all I will put a warning of either

Just so that way you can skip them if their about a character you hate or like.. I don't feel like bringing down the vibe.. unless some chickenshit anon decides to act in which case your all DYI-

OK THAT'S ENOUGH. LETS GET TO THE ACTUALLY TALK.

Ruby Rose.

So Ruby rose is an interesting character. I don't have any strong feelings on her so I'll just give certain takes I have about.

Positives.

- she has a alright starting basis as a protagonist, going into shonen tropes of having a dead parent (Rwby was inspired by anime specifically shonen.)

- at the start she can be very fun to watch just be a bit of a dork dumbass.

- ... Look my favorite color is red and she's wearing it, I kinda like her on default.

Negatives.

- overall she doesn't have a lot of screentime later on and when she does I just wish there was more of her.

- her characterization can get frustrating later on. She's not a total piece of shit I just get annoyed sometimes.

- her character feels like it's stayed the same. And it does not gel well with the attempt at a more mature tone.

Overall Ruby is not a terrible character but definitely feels a tad bit lackluster so overall I give her a 6/10... Thousand

JOKE! JOKE! JOOOOKE!

But some of you might be thinking I'm just complaining and that I wouldn't know how to write her.. well my friends this is the benefit of writing a Rwby rewrite. I am going to be writing her. So this section is about how I would like to write the rose reaper in my rewrite.

1. Focus on her relationship with her mother, what did she mean to her and has her mother impacted Ruby.

2. Focus on her relationship with yang a lot more (this will also appear on my yang post.. if I don't get a hit put out on me by Rwby stans.) allow them time outside of their team to have them just be sisters. Hanging out and relaxing. Building up that connection between them a little more.

3. Overall I wanna try and make her more mature as the story takes a turn after Beacons' fall. Get into her head and show how she felt about it all, about what beacon means to her, about the deaths she saw.. and specifically, Pyrrha's death. Pyrrha's is the thing that awakens Ruby's silver eyes but we don't get to see them interact almost at all. So that leads to number four.

4. This is a real weird one as this is going to be elaborated on further when I discuss Pyrrha.. and how much I fucking hate her. But my idea is to build Ruby's relationship with both her teammates but also members of team JNPR outside of jaune (I have an idea for the leaders of the two teams I am going to discuss about when I get to Jaune.). Especially Pyrrha.. and I'm gonna do that, via Jaune at first. Have them truly get to know each other when jaune asks Ruby for help after she finds out about the fact jaune didn't get any training. (This is also to give Ruby more time in the spotlight). However Ruby can't completely teach Jaune, she can teach him how to properly use his aura. And how to lead but she can't teach him how to fight. So Ruby suggests asking Pyrrha to help, which Pyrrha would as both her and Ruby would both begin teaching jaune before they start hanging out outside of training Jaune. Having them train together and also have a scene where pyrrha finally gets to be a regular girl.. my idea is that Ruby and her go shopping for a video game Ruby really wants to get but the rest of her team is way too busy. So she asks pyrrha to accompany her, the two would get to just casually talk and allow Ruby to understand who pyrrha really is. As the vermilion spartan begins to talk about how she wished she wasn't famous. How she wished she was like Ruby or Yang, or even Jaune and just had a normal life with normal standards set for her. All of these moments between them so that when Ruby and jaune see Pyrrha die.. it hurts, it strikes Ruby to her core as she begins to break down while jaune trys (and fails miserably) to fight cinder. Before Ruby finally unlocks her silver eyes.

But that's all I got. I ain't discussing Penny because quite frankly I think how her and Penny's relationship was handled was really good. (I'm not acknowledging Penny's reappearance in volume 7 yet, I'm saving that for when I talk about her.. as well as her second death.)

I hope this long ass post comes off less as me complaining and more of just me giving my opinions. I love this show but I get frustrated with it. But it's from that love that I even decided to talk about this show instead of just walking away with apathy.

If you have your own opinions for Ruby I will gladly listen.. y'know as long as you don't insult anyone because if you do? Yeah get out.

like a) i'm interested in commonalities between leaders in general and b) soyeon and hongjoong have ALWAYS reminded me of each other in some ways--like they are both capricorn risings, neptune and uranus in 1st, chart ruler saturn in the 3rd, scorpio MC--physically they look similar (tiny with a BIG presence, shape shifters, performance geniuses) and their personalties have that same funny like... people think they're intense and scary unless they know what a little weirdo cutie they are. but also they truly can be intense and scary! then be a loser three minutes later. they can be geniuses and they can be dummies. duality !!

i also find it such a great way to go really deep into a placement and tease out the subtle differences and how that can manifest?

like they are both ruled by retrograde saturn in the 3rd (work communication and bucking the norm = key themes) but

hongjoong is ruled by 29° aries saturn -- he is gonna be tested much more on issues of authority, judgment, work than soyeon is. he also has more of a natural talent for leadership but also a hot and cold potential to be a tyrant lol (temper). his saturn is in the jupiter decan, so education philosophy idealism Open Mindedness are all important too soyeon is ruled by 3° taurus saturn-- more of a workhorse, methodical and like... she's not gonna get mad as easily she's like "lol ok let's see who blinks first bc it's not gonna be me honey" (stubborn as hell) and it's in the venus decan so #aesthetic also she is about that creative control + control freak vibes rather than her needing to be in charge for its own sake

so for example

-> if soyeon hates something she's written (superlady lol) she's gonna accept the L (loudly, 3rd house) and move on, but -> hongjoong might be internally irritated but also refuse to admit he was wrong (aries energy 🤪) and maybe just talk his way around something like that (3rd house)

hongjoong's saturn is ruled by his 8th house virgo mars

his chart ruler energy is more... uh... depression potential? 8th house and virgo both um... can be a little negative or depressive at times. however also precise, rational, reliable, service-oriented, transformative, deep, committed, i'm a survivor i'm not gonna give in i'm not gonna stop, i'm gonna work harder, u know the tune. hongjoong's saturn is motivated not only by his own desire to assert himself but also his care for others or his want to like... be of service? very tsundere, you aries saturn you. plus there's an 8th house sex and death vibe to hongjoong's saturn which feels... truly so right. like who else is gonna lead a sexy cyberpunk anarchist revolutionary performance demon power of friendship concept other than a uranus-neptune-capricorn rising ruled by 3rd house aries saturn rx ruled by 8th house virgo mars. like. all the key words are there down to the aquarius uranus cyberpunk energy, like. also jupiter decan... more successful overseas, gets lucky overseas???? idk??

soyeon's saturn is ruled by her exact leo venus-mercury conjunction in the 7th house

her chart ruler energy NEEDS to create and perform like almost pathologically, has an ego but also there's an impulse to compromise or make nice that super disagrees with other parts of her chart. however her saturn is also generous, creative, fair, artistic, team-orientated. mercury adds to the 3rd house gemini energy--youthful, playful, loves to learn, switches lanes like crazy. it makes sense that idle's concepts bounce around very a lot, and that soyeon does all the creative direction herself down to hair and makeup, and that she usually starts with a very clear message to communicate when designing a comeback (even if sometimes the message is super specific and profound and sometimes the message is "idk fuck it we ball"--like tbh if i had been responsible for quite literally pretty much everything for my group since debut while constantly having to fight the public and even the company despite having kept the lights on pretty much single-handedly for the past ??? years, i too would want to fuck it and ball after a while)

(hongjoong also has a prominent venus but his is conjunct his mc--very visible, very key to what he offers the world, what he wants the world to perceive him like--soyeon's venus is much more about creative vision communication and work and hongjoong's venus is more expression and expansion and growth)

Okay, I have finally finished S4 of The Umbrella Academy, and as someone who has been in love with the show since day 1, disappointed and frustrated don't even scratch the surface as to what I feel about *gestures vaguely*... whatever the hell that was.

I've had some time to let it sink in, and if I don't talk about it I'll die. So here are my thoughts (warning - it's long. I have a LOT of thoughts. excuse any spelling mistakes).

[major spoilers ahead. like. the whole damn thing]

What I Liked / What Worked (not much, so let's get that out of the way)

Allison and Claire (and Klaus) finally being together and having a normal mother - daughter relationship. She deserved to see Claire grow up.

Diego and Lila's daughter being named Grace after the Umbrellas' mom (Grace) was very cute.

Viktor finally being able to live a normal life as himself. Also him finally standing up to Reggie! Loved loved loved that.

Gean and Jean. The Potential!!! The flair!!! Was very delighted to know they are married irl too.

The Keepers - cool concept, poor execution.

Ben being a convicted Crypto Bro. Of course he is, that's hilarious.

Family road trip. I love them being chaotic (although the Baby Shark joke got real annoying real fast).

Lila got her parents back! Babygirl finally has a real loving family (yes i know. i'll get there).

That gorgeous Ben x Jennifer opening card with the upside-down umbrella. Gorgeous.

Allison Klaus and Luther reacting to The Affair revelation (what a mood).

Controversial opinion, but I actually liked seeing Stripper Luther! I'm not a fan of how heavy they rely on his himbo side, but it was nice to see him with a normal body and be able to enjoy it outside the whole Umbrella thing. He deserved better.

Luther and Diego having a Team Zero moment on the CIA? YES.

That Cleanse gear-up scene with Muse playing? AMAZING WONDERFUL WOW WHAT A CHOICE WHAT A SOUNDTRACK. Absolutely.

Loved the concept of the subway. Hated the execution (or lack there of).

Five's diner. Yes. Brisket Five I love you.

Loved that Alison and Viktor at least made up before dying.

What I Hated / The Bad Stuff (hooo boy)

Ray "Honour and Dignity" Chestnut would NEVER walk out on Allison and Claire. Never.

It feels damn racist to have your one other black parent character walk out on his family. He was one of the most noble and honorable and interesting characters in the whole show, and they did him so dirty.

Literally any other excuse would work as to why he couldn't be there (sickness? accident?). Ray would never.

Hated all the stupid (and frankly unjustified) fat jokes about Diego, and how they did their marriage so dirty.

I don't disagree that Lila and Diego would find it hard to adjust to a settled-down life with kids and all, given they never really knew stability, but That? Making them seem like some unhappy sub-urban nuclear family that has fallen out of love? Absolutely not.

They destroyed Ben. I get that he was Sparrow Ben, and that he was a bit of an asshole, but geez. Would think after a whole apocalypse and years of playing family (although from prision), he'd be a little bit nicer to the Umbrellas right? Not a single meaningful Klaus x Ben interaction was CRIMINAL.

They have been MADLY in love from the start - if anything they would be too wild and out-there with their kids (like when Stan was around. I can see them doing little kid bootcamps).

Also, Diego and Lila both have different flavours of mommy issues. You'd think they'd both try so hard to give their kids a loving family and relish in each other's company, because finally they get to know what it feels like to truly love and be loved.

I hate how they made Jennifer be the only thing he'd care about. I wish Ben would have *some* memories of og Ben. It would've been interesting to see him trying to concile the two. Or at least make him grief his family properly. Just anything else aside from "I'm a dick and I love Jennifer".

Klaus. Everything about him. He's probably my favourite character, and had some of the most significant and relevant character development and cool abilities. But someone decided to take a massive dump on him instead. Because of course they did.

I hate how they once again reduced him to a low-life addict (EVEN THOUGH! BOTH IN SEASON 2 AND 3 ALL HE DID WAS DRINK! The only times he ever got drunk (and intentionally, I might add), where after the whole Dave debacle (understandable), and at his brother's wedding A DAY BEFORE THE END OF THE WORLD.).

Klaus hasn't been that person in many, many years (remember how in Dallas Ben points out to him how he'd been sober for 3 years? Why would he return to that mindset after the reset?). It feels so gross and pointless to have him go back to that state - especially given how much he HATED being that person.

And this is not to say he *wouldn't* relapse after re-gaining his powers - they were the cause of so much pain and trauma, I would understand. But at least do it right, actually show him being conflicted and fight against it, show the damn ghosts, idk. Don't reduce him to a powerless addict after all the progress he made - if he was to truly relapse, at least do it so in a way that honours his character.

I hate how they wasted his powers, how they didn't even show him on The Void with God / Bicycle Girl, and how they watered his witty, extravagant, sweet, funny self into a cowardly, out-of-control mess. They chose to make him a literal prostitute (and given he was there to pay a debt, not sure how truly consensual it all was, so that's also incredibly gross), rather than give him any plot relevance.

If you wanted him to have some sexual debauchery (which sure! absolutely! Destiny's Children had that and it was fine!), then do it?? Why would you opt for him (your one other queer character btw) to be sexually coerced instead (not sure if "assault" is the right word, given he knew what was going on but. whatever it is, it doesn't sit right with me)?

Literally all he did contributed exactly 0 for the plot. They made him be so mean and bitchy towards Alisson (he would NEVER), and sneak around for drugs yet again, for absolutely nothing. No mentions of Dave, no plot-relevant connections to the Mothers Of Agony (remember Pogo worked there before? Remember they did Five's Oblivion tattoo?), nothing.

I love that he got to be with Claire, but seeing him go back to his old self and scream at her while stealing their tv was painful to watch. I hated everything they did to him, Klaus deserved SO much better.

Luther should've found Sloane. Luther would've never given up trying to find her - even if it drove him crazy. If Sloane was to remain missing, I wanted to at least see Luther go full conspiracy mode. I mean, living in a van, a bunch of blurry pictures of women who vaguely resemble Sloane, that travel guide in his pocket.

What a wonderful plot device! Ooohh cool symbols? Several lines! Several entry gates! What a cool new power! Surely this must be extremely relevant to the plot right? Surely this is perhaps connected to the Oblivion project, given the strange symbols? Whatever it is, surely it must be extremely important given it was the setting for the promotional photos and posters right? Right?? RIGHT???

A 2 minute conversation. The subway served for exactly nothing but a 2 minute conversation between the Fives, just to say "ya lol, you guys are the problem, kill yourself bestie 😜🩷🙏".

Why were those symbols used instead of English? Given Five was the only one with access to it? Why wasn't the original timeline connection marked in bold on the map? How did it even appear? Why did the Grandfather Paradox not apply there?

Five, who basically missed out on their siblings' life, who has put them in danger countless times and blames himself for it, who despite the grumpyness is beyond happy to finally be with his family. That Five? Who has risked his life over and over to save his idiot siblings? That Five?? Who despite growing up alone and abandoned and without an LITERAL ounce of affection or warmth or love, devised countless (infinite actually!) plans to stop the apocalypse and save his family??? Are you telling me THAT FIVE BETRAYED HIS OWN BROTHER AND FELL IN LOVE WITH HIS SISTER IN LAW? WHOM HE STRONGLY DISLIKED FOR MOST TIME???

I refuse to accept that. I can *somewhat* understand both he and Lila feeling vulnerable and desolate, especially Lila, given she has real children and real parents waiting for her, but cheating on Diego? With his brother nonetheless?? She would never. SHE WOULD NEVER.

And are you telling me, after all that, Five, Mr Stoic and Logical, went so far as to nearly ABANDON HIS FAMILY because Lila couldn't leave her husband (HIS BROTHER) for him???? Are you telling me Lila would actually betray Diego, a man whom she has been crazy, deeply in love with for years, literally the very first person to see her and accept her and truly lover her EVER???

No. Absolutely not. I refuse to accept this. Absolutely not. What a disservice to all of them. I hate that they, on top of that, made Diego some lazy, deadbeat dad for no reason. Absolutely not.

Jennifer. Babygirl, I love you, you're very cool and sweet and gorgeous, but I expected more.

Does she have powers? Is she connected to them in any significant way? No. Just a poor innocent girl with Durango on her veins. Why couldn't Reg and Abigail just kill her straight away? How did she know about the cleanse (given she was saying that when she came out of the squid). Why does she even have the durango??? How did that happen??

For something called the "Jennifer Incident", Miss Jenny sure didn't do much. In the og timeline, Ben and Jen are killed like what, 5 minutes after they meet? They barely talk and yet the show makes it seem like she is/was incredibly relevant in Ben's life (or rather death)? Why even call it the Jennifer Incident? Reggie could've just said it was an accident related to a weapon or anything.

Literally no reason to mention her. I'm sorry, but 2 kids looking at each other for less than 5 minutes does NOT warrant a "ooohhh we're connected and in love" plot line.

Big massive Fuck You to Mr Reginald Hargreeves for MURDERING YOUR OWN KID AND TEMPERING WITH EVERYONE'S MEMORIES.

Mr Reginald himself. He was horrible - HORRIBLE - throughout the entire show, and yet got away with literally everything. Also, I hate Abigail.

"Oh but I'm NOT your version of Hargreeves" okay?? What a lazy writing cop-out. I'm glad Viktor had that outburst, but it was not enough. Especially after the Ben death reveal, how did they not kill him right away?

I wanted to see him take accountability for his actions - or at least be properly confronted with them. His quasi-redemption arc and consequent back-stabbing in S3 was much more satisfying and in character than whatever passive male-wife version of Reggie they cooked up. Even if he did love Abigail to no end, I refuse to believe he would be that pliant under her company.

Abigail is... Yeah. I don't know. I don't get her. She started out as an interesting character, grounding Reg a bit. But then she went and killed my guy Gean (rip) and aired out her marital complaints in the middle of a sort-of Purge??? What. Was that. And then everything is okay and dandy, even if it was all her fault???

Idk guys, that whole durango - marigold plot felt super flat to me. I'm more confused than pissed off. They gave us so much and so little, and not in a good way.

The whole Cleanse thing was weird and confusing and made 0 sense. How is Life Particle + Anti-Life Particle = Grotesque Blob Monster an actual plot.

Did the Keepers know they were going to die? How exactly did they piece everything together? You'd think a conspiracy that big would've alerted Hargreeves, but I guess not? Even though he's what, the president of the city or smth lmao.

I wish they expanded on The Keepers and made them, like. Rogue Commission ex-workers or smth. Or made Jennifer actually relevant aside from "you have a virus in your blood". It felt so rushed and scrambled together, completely lacked the flair and pacing of the earlier seasons.

I actually liked S3 despite the confusing plot, but boy does it look like a masterpiece after whatever S4 was.

What a shit end.

Ben died a jerk, disfigured, without so much as a goodbye. Five and Diego died hating each other because of Lila, not knowing her true feelings; she died having her marriage destroyed and both relationships compromised.

Klaus *actually died*, instead of at least going to the Void and looking for a solution (it's death, the apocalypse has no effect there whatsoever), having contributed exactly 0% for the story.

Allison ONCE AGAIN was forced to abandon her child and have her love interest pulled away. At least she got to say goodbye.

Luther died in the same place he had always been. At least the others had time to become adults outside of it - Luther was just beginning to discover freedom and they made him go back there again. Without Sloane.

They would never surrender themselves to death. The would've either fought back, or truly enjoyed the last moments together. The Umbrellas I know would've NEVER stood passively in the face of death - especially given it was their beloved brother the responsible for it. They would've tried to get through Ben.

Flowers. Really. Really? Absolutely not.

Overall lack of significant sibling interaction. Most of their scenes together were either pure silly or just ridiculously aggravating and angry. Where is the witty banter, where are the tender moments? They were so all over this season, I miss them being an actual family ya know?

Idk if this is my annoyed self clouding my judgment, but visually this season felt very flat and lackluster.

One of the things I love the most about the series is the amazing visuals. The cinematic moments. Seasons 1 and 2 were magnificent - the colours, the fighting sequences, the pacing. Just gorgeous.

Even S3 had some really gorgeous moments - the introduction of the Sparrows, Diego's fight against Alphonso and Jaime, the hotel itself.

Sure, nothing will ever top Five's fighting scenes (Istanbul Donut shop, and him murdering the board? Also I Was Made For Loving You with Diego and Lila in Texas? Top-tier). And Klaus' and Allison's intro sequences in S2?? Or S1 Viktor playing violin??? Stunning.

I loved the 1st episode of this season, the poker scene, the birthday party. But aside from that scene/sequence in the Christmas market, and the subway scenes, they didn't really gave us much more. The dancing scene with Gean and Jean was AMAZING, but? That was it? Literally not one memorable moment (aside from the Muse/Cleanse - that was gorgeous).

What was the point of them gaining their powers back, if they can barely use it? It was useful in the Christmas market and CIA, and that was it really. Allison barely used it, Klaus flew once (1), Five can barely blink (no murderous rage scene either :/). Where did Lila's lasers came from? Also only useful once.

Questions I Still Have (literally what is going on?)

The squid. How? Why? For what? Uh??? Yall.

How did Abigail managed to come to life after the reset? How do they know what marigold is? Is *she* made of marigold? Why was she on the moon?

Reginald?? He and Abigail are aliens, sure. But? What planet? How did they get here? Why? Are there others?

Where is Pogo? Where is Grace? Where are Sissy and Harlan?

If Allison and Diego and Lila never existed, how are their kids alive after the Cleanse?

Where did the subway even come from?? I get that Five built the system (did he????), but if it was there the whole time, how did he never come across it? How did they get him to come there only now?? I don't know, maybe I'm really dumb, I just don't get it.

Given that The Comission works outside time and space, you'd think *someone* must've known about all the other apocalypses, including this one.

Even if they are no more, it makes no sense for them to not be alerted to it. The Comission works outside of the timelines - it'd make sense for them to be aware of Ben and Jennifer.

But I guess they don't really appear in S3 either so sure, yeah.

Why did Abigail isolate the marigold particle in the first place? Literally everything about her makes 0 sense.

I don't even know anymore gang. I'm so disappointed in how they ended things. How can you fumble a show That Good so bad?? The cast is so correct (especially David mi amor, you know what's up). I feel so sad for both Gerard and Gabriel - they worked so hard on the comics, it must be awful to see their characters done so dirty like that.

Hello, ‘tis I. As my primary resident The Boyz stan mutual, I am humbly asking for some suggestions about getting to know them since I’m seeing them at the end of July. I like, know their names but couldn’t put them to faces really. I know Ju Haknyeon because P101 s2, but he was like 16 or 17 at that point so I’m sure he’s pretty different now. Anyway, I’ve already gotten some info from others but I know that if anyone has lots of knowledge about The Boyz, it’s you.

Hello 🤭💖 good to know I earned that title~ I have many suggestions- But I think I'll do a thorough answer beneath this paragraph- and base them on content and things~ But omg you're seeing them at the end of July!? I'm seeing them in New York in the middle of July! That's so cool that we're both getting to see them this year! I absolutely understand- Oh heck yeah- I only have seen clips of that but I'm glad you already have a slight start~ I wonder what you've learned so far 👀 But it's so sweet to know that you turned to me for this 🥺💖(this is gonna get really long and it's just because I cannot shut up about them even if I tried- I really hope this helps).

For me I really like Idol Human Theaters and always enjoy them. And I think that's a good place to start they helped me get to know them- It really shows you how funny they are. I really suggest going in order and I'll link that here ~ Personally my favorites are their Athletic one (Killing both the stage & Cloth P.E. Students) and their drinking one (What Happens On Daytime Get-Together).

Now if you lean more into scary content I def suggest Wings of Escape ep 1, & Episode 2 (tbh as a person who really can't take scares- it's only scary for the 1st 5 minutes) I spend the rest laughing- it's so silly- I go back to watch it all the time. For me, I really like knowing who the cowards are- as a coward myself :) (how I ended up biasing 2 noncowards idk-at least I bias one that is) Like Q- man is giddy over the scares and is so excited to go in- (His team is my favorite) But Ju Haknyeon is the coolest- he's the type of friend you want if you're going somewhere scary. Sunwoo is my representative in that escape room.

Now if you love mafia content (they have several) but like "high quality" The Boyz (1): The Convoyz (2) is sososo good- You get to see how they lie and trick and figure each other out. (I've never seen a group with no sense for mafia before them 😭 I love them sm) And then in the second episode you see them play by teams against each other and it really shows their team efforts!

Now this will be a longer one but The Boyz Come On! God Saeng 😭🥺 holds such a big and special place in my heart- it made me fall for each of their personalities even harder. Like Jacob drives so much like me and has sm fun and takes care of "the kiddos" while Sangyeon's car- everyone falls asleep cause he drives so gently. And when they all went to go to bed how they each talked 😭😭 It's so gentle- they have sm fun- (there is a part I hate just because of the producers but tbz themselves... oh yeah that's my soft spot) I really could go on about each member- but the way Juyeon volunteers for dishes- and how they cheer on each other for bowling (even on opposite teams)... Oh yeah I bawled my eyes out :)

My favorite content is one of the first contents of their own that watched was Deobi University (1): Vacation (2) ! It's so funny, but it's one of those contents when you watch it again with more knowledge about them that it truly becomes hilarious, so that's why it's at the bottom of the list. But the way they play around in the water, and everyone enjoys themselves- and the game they play inside the house!? (These little weirdos 🥺💖)

Now for regular content that isn't "funny" I really suggest if you want to know more about their hard work and dedication- (other than their kingdom & all that) there is Off The Boyz their behinds- I have one that I always watch and it's 2023 SBS performance behind one. It really shows their talents and there is a vv funny moment with Kevin (he looks like humpty dumpty for a second). The performance from that: Intro + Watch It 2023 Gayodaejeon (am I little salty about Juyeon not getting the spotlight when he prepared so hard for his part of the intro dance... yes, but that's besides the point- it is still beyond amazing) But there's also their Zeneration preparation for their tour last year- and you'll see how much hard work they put into it- like seeing Hyunjae trust the rest of them to catch him- and nail the Only One move after not doing it for so long was just incredible. And then Younghoon is the thumbnail with the kitty~

so I was really on track to just stay positive today but i just cannot....

context : I found a tik tok of a clip from Nichomaki's live reacting to enhypen's criminal love. An engene&lune in the comment section said &Team voice would suit the song and a cover would be nice. I saw a lot of supportive comments but then the toxic engenes start flooding in. In summary, they were just practically trying to say that Enha's vocals are better than &Team (aka favoritism)

See as harmless and peaceful as it sounded, it wasn't. And no this isn't me being overdramatic or favoritism from my side. I love all the boys equally truly. But the way they were trying so damn hard to BASH &Team's vocal quality just to make their own group and themselves feel superior is really disgusting. Like we know how brilliant Enha's vocals are, but attacking another group and the fanbase was another level.

I started replying to few nasty comments at one point, the ones that go so far. And this one nasty ass engene shamelessly have the audacity to reply to me and say "Oh yea Enha's B-sides are way better than &Team's overall vocal. Their vocal sucks." - honestly to that person - do you hear yourself right now? You are comparing a 3 year old kpop group to a 1 year old rookie kpop group that just debuted last year. And you have the audacity to compare the quality and amount of tracks and sides they release. Disgusting.

Another thing I wanna point out - It's true each idol will differ on fields they're best at as well as groups which mainly is because of the difference in experience and time. And I think people need to get that in their heads. They all became 'idols' for a reason. Because they can sing and dance better than any local humans out there and can do both without collapsing on stage. These toxic shits don't even know the amount of stress and pain each idol/group goes through yet they're here so damn ready, doing nothing but sitting at home and binging on reality shows, and now you wanna bash and attack small growing groups. Disgraceful.

Apparently the fight stopped after a while between me and the person because I basically just told them I have no time or energy to be in an argument with a deluded person where this would lead absolutely nowhere. And the notifications pretty much went dead. And then that person tagged me - and that one act they did, straight up i just blocked them.

They tagged me in a jungwon edit video and then wrote "jungwon >>>>>>>>> &Team". I'm not here to bash jungwon or Enhypen, i truly love them, they're literally the group i stanned before &Team formed. And the problem wasn't the edit or i'm not butt-hurt about the comment, but it's the fact that even after i left the argument and moved on, they still was raring to go. The fact that we were done with this nonsense crap-talk, and they had the audacity to tag me back and try so hard to trigger me. And ykw, congrats to the person cuz at that point, i just blocked them. I'm not trynna have someone like that bugging my ass on the notification bar, they can go cry in a ditch idc.

Conclusion : Ik i'm coming off really aggressive here - but forgive me cuz i just cannot with toxic engenes. Enhypen and &Team are practically supposed to be like brother groups. They share the same lore, same storyline, even appear in each other's mvs, collabs, the past survival show contestants, the bonds - Everything. Yet its either twitter or tik tok each day, it's not even any other group stans atp, it's literally mostly just engenes. Like it is unbelieveable, how the toxic part of the enha fanbase, literally wants to target and stir discord between the two bonded groups and each other's fanbases.

A lot of engenes are also the ones currently apart of the Lune community including me and i just cannot imagine the shame and embarrassment and absolute disappointment, we must have to feel witnessing all this crap that our same old fanbase is at.

Toxic engenes just need to fucking stop. You guys are so full of yourselves. You guys even have the audacity to call normal engenes CRAZY just because they weren't in your damn toxic train.

I understand favoritism, thats something most people have, I can literally sit here and say Niki was my first love but I favoritize K over him just bc it's my liking. But that doesn't mean I'm going to go attack Niki. You can favoritize someone and love someone without trying to bash and launch at everyone else that isn't THE PERSON. "i know you're truly a team luke stan in your heart," throws a playful wink at his direction, lips curving into a grin. "oh, you're laughing now... but you better not laugh when we put it on. have to capture a picture of it, make sure the world finds out who took your in n out virginity and how i did it right," innocent lace in her voice, even though others could indicate differently. the thought of seeing the other more crosses her mind, excites her... really hope that they would see each other a lot more. camden couldn't help but feel a spark of excitement as they bantered back and forth. even though they had never really interacted before, it felt natural, and he was loving how comfortable he felt around her already. her teasing about being a tay tay fan made him grin wide. "oh, absolutely. a bit of 'all too well' and i'm hooked," he joked, playing along. there was something effortlessly charming about her. he had watched her interviews, seen her in action, and now, in person, she was even more captivating. when she offered to help him practice, it caught him slightly off guard but in the best way possible. "practice with you? i might take you up on that. but, fair warning, you just might end up being the one who's nervous." his eyes twinkled as he playfully tucked a lock of her hair behind her ear, feeling a flutter of excitement in his chest. her boldness made his stomach flip, but he wasn't about to back down. June 4th Full Moon

Each Full Moon tends to bring disruption with it.  It is a time, that is naturally turbulent; and can trigger rebellious energy.  People are more prone to pick a fight, or to get triggered into reactive and aggressive spaces.

This Full Moon calls us to consider where we can bring things into balance and harmony.  It is a time that favors uniting people and getting even those in opposition to each other to work together.  We are likely to see less extremes even among the polarities; and people are likely to feel more “centered” and less emotional than normal.  This is a time that calls us to focus on bringing together what we need to put our own ideas and plans.  It can be a good time for communicating with others; and for getting our message across.

Leaders come into the spotlight; and it is likely we will be able to see who the real leaders are and who is just in a role for personal gain, personal recognition, and to have power and control over others.  This is a time where we may see a lot of turnovers in leadership; since those that are operating corruptly and who work like a tyrant or authoritarian, will likely be getting exposed and forced out of their positions.  That gives the true leaders, who bring people together as a real team, and work towards the benefit of humanity, to step into positions of power and authority.

This is a time where materialism weighs heavy on the Spirit.  It is a time where the Spirit feels broken, if people feel that they cannot survive without giving in to those that are manipulating them.  It is a time where big corporations and governments are likely to try to make people feel as if there is no hope; unless they comply to their unrealistic expectations and demands.  We must remember that they need us more than we need them.  When we come together and refuse to fight among ourselves; they will back down.  We must use caution when standing up for ourselves; but we also should not be backing down.  The more they try to break our Spirit; the more we must double up and stand with God and the Soul Self.

This is a time that will favor us working on our own things, and focusing on our own responsibilities and obligations.  It is a time where our biggest responsibility is to stand true to Divine Principles, and what is best for us.  We will see ruin where we let others tell us what to do.  Just because someone gives you advice, doesn’t mean that you have to take it; and it doesn’t mean that it is beneficial.  We must carefully consider our path at this time, and who we are associating with, as it could make or break us.  Focus on working with the resources that you have; and don’t spend what you don’t already have in hand.

It is important for us to look at where similar things have played out in the past.  Knowing the history behind something; keeps the past from repeating itself, and leading us in unfavorable directions.  This is why those that are in corruption are always trying to erase and change history; because history will expose their agendas.  Our choices have a very strong impact on how our future turns out; so, we must use the wisdom from the past to help us to choose wisely.  We must understand how our current experiences are taking the same path as other points in history; and we must understand which paths will lead us in truly favorable directions.

I welcome you to bring things into balance and harmony.  What if you find a way to work with others, even though they have different opinions than your own?

I welcome you to lead others towards what benefits humanity, instead of what destroys it.  What if this is about working together as a team?

I welcome you to realize that big corporations and governments need you more than you need them.  What if the only way that they can survive is to break our Spirit until we comply; and what if doubling up on our alignment with God and the Soul Self is how we disempower the corruption?

I welcome you to stand true to Divine Principles.  What if this is currently our biggest responsibility and obligation?

In the Northern Hemisphere we have the Rose Moon, Flower Moon, and the Strawberry Moon.  In the energy of the Rose Moon, we see that our stress can either pull us out of Divine Alignment, or it can polish and strengthen us to overcome our challenges, tests, and initiations.  Success and victory are ours to have, if we are supporting and nourishing Divine Presence in the world.  Advancement comes where we use stress to polish and refine us.  We must be careful of things being twisted and appearing as something they are not.  This is one of the greatest ways that temptation and “evil” works; it disguises itself as something good.  It is the proverbial “trojan horse”.  We must be careful of what others present as “gifts”; because they could end up causing us a lot of grief, if they are not in true Divine Alignment.

In the energy of the Flower Moon, we see that this is a good time to focus on our own things.  Others may be more of a distraction than an asset for us.  This is a time where things that weren’t finished in the past, may resurface and need to be completed now.  It is important to use past structures as a foundation; but they will need to be adjusted and updated to fit current needs and to support us going forward.  That calls us to work with things that are timeless; for they are often the most reliable and beneficial for us.

In the energy of the Strawberry Moon, we are being called to be in observation.  It is only through observation that we are able to embrace the value of the challenges that we are going through; and to see our way forward.  This energy is a reminder that we need to stay focused on our own self and well-being at this time; and we need to let others handle their own things.  This is a great time for a personal retreat; and to understand the meaning behind things.  It is a great time to delve into our own spiritual processes.

I welcome you to allow any stress that you have to polish and refine you.  What if this helps you to stand in Divine Alignment; and to stand strong against temptations, and things that are not truly good for you?

I welcome you to finish things that were left unfinished.  What if in doing this, you worked with things that are timeless?

I welcome you to let observation help you to embrace the value of the challenges that you are going through.  What if this will help you see the way forward?

In the Southern Hemisphere we have the Oak Moon.  With this influence we are likely to see a lot of turmoil and drama being stirred up.  Weather conditions are likely to be unpredictable and erratic; especially where there are power battles going on between corrupt leaders, and those that are working to benefit humanity.  It is during this time that we will have to rely more on intuition than on our logical mind; since communications and rational thinking are not very strong.  This is not the time for making decisions or signing contracts.  Instead look at what provides you with greater freedom, choice, and self-sufficiency.  It is important to remain calm, no matter how much turbulence is happening.  If you are able to do this, both literal and proverbial storms will settle down. I welcome you to remain calm; and focus on what provides you with greater freedom, choice, and self-sufficiency.  What if this is the key to restoring peaceful conditions?

Ford and Fiddleford's Dynamic - Pt. 1

Alright, so I had expressed not long ago that I wanted to more exhaustively discuss my thoughts on Ford and Fiddleford’s dynamic, why I love it, and why I find it so compelling and enjoyable regardless of whether it is read as romantic, platonic, something in between, or something else altogether. I'm going to break this up into parts, too, hopefully that makes it a little easier to read. I know I'm a text-heavy person, so please bear with me!

I am going to do my best to focus on canon and interpreting it and keep the headcanons to a minimum for now. As I said, I believe their dynamic is wonderfully done and equally meaningful regardless of how you want to read it (although maybe it’s meaningful in slightly different ways depending on interpretation.). Ford and Fiddleford’s ‘arc’ excellently meshes with and manages to encapsulate the themes of the show as a whole – trust, love, and the gravity of these – how they can be broken and the severity of that, how these can  be flaws, the effort it can take to rebuild them, acceptance, embracing weirdness, and mystery. It’s difficult to truly pull their whole arc out and separate it from their relationships to other characters, but I’m going to do my best to focus on them and not get too side-tracked.

Let’s start off with some words from Alex Hirsch about their dynamic (thank you to @tazmiilly for finding this! the video it is from can be found here with the quote in question at 45:48)

“Everybody has that one friend in school who, like, school would be a nightmare without them. You know, like one person who is on your level who makes the same dumb jokes, is into the same weird games that you are, just like gets your sense of humor. And like, it can be the most meaningful thing in the world to have that person. I feel like every place I’ve been I have had at least one really good friend, who like… I can get through how awful it is because they’re there. And I think, y’know…McGucket and Ford were those kind of friends.”

Between this, Fiddleford’s enthusiastic acceptance of Ford’s request to help him build the portal, and Ford’s positively giddy reaction to seeing Fiddleford again in the 80s, I think we can safely assume they had a solid, steady bond. I’m going to backtrack now to Ford pre-college to set up some context that I think makes Alex’s description of their relationship in college so much more significant.

We know that throughout Ford’s formative years, he was practically attached at the hip to Stanley. They were inseparable, they were a team (though, of course, not without their differences). They shared a dream, trusted one another, and understood each other – although despite the understanding they do have, there are aspects of each other that are going to forever be disparate and difficult for the other to get. That’s normal and good! I love that Ford and Stan share so much yet stand out as unique people with their own way of viewing the world, unique interests, ways of handling things, and so on.

With the bullying they faced and the implied pressure at home, Stanley is the only (confirmed) positive relationship Ford seemed to have during his childhood and teen years. There is a lot we don’t know about what might have happened off-screen in their lives, but we know that Stan’s role was by and far the most significant to Ford. While their home situation leaves some room for interpretation, I think it is also safe to assume that pressure was heavy on both of them and that they experienced emotional abuse, at least from Filbrick (although it’s entirely possible this went further than we know, and we don’t get a good picture of how Caryn treated them either besides potential evidence for a somewhat detached relationship to them between ATOTS and Lost Legends).

Once Stan was kicked out and Ford was alone, I would bet that nearly all that pressure was now doubled down on him and all the scrutiny Stan had been under now fell to him. Ford’s a picture ‘golden child’ and all the high hopes his family had are looming over him while he’s dealing with major changes in his life – the heartbreak of losing his shot at WCT, losing Stan (and I would LOVE to know more about his feelings and thoughts on that whole scenario and how it would have gone if their argument had not been interrupted), trying to figure out his future and backup (heheh) college plans, and so on. Even if Ford wanted time to be independent and to chase his own dreams, at least for a time, I don’t think he ever wanted it to happen like this.

We now have Ford starting as a freshman at Backupsmore – far from his first choice of school, his expectations far from high and his outlook far from rosy. He’s completely on his own for the first time, still glaringly alone in Stan’s absence, although on a more positive note this may be his chance to be away from some of that hovering shadow of pressure from his family (at least to an extent) and away from the bullying and ostracization he experienced in Glass Shard Beach. It’s not perfect, but it’s new, and it’s a fresh start…sort of.

Enter Fiddleford Hadron McGucket.

We don’t know the details of how they met or what their first impressions were of each other, but I don’t think it’s a stretch to assume that regardless of circumstances, Ford was a little hesitant and timid at first just as a consequence of past experiences damaging his ability to readily trust others; however, while also being hesitant for good reason, we know Ford is also quite the golden retriever who is excited and happy to find people he shares interests and values with. He does place importance on connection to others. Once he likes someone, I get the impression he loves them quite fiercely, in his own way (and that he’s easily won over by kindness and compliments).

Regarding Alex’s words… well, now Ford finally has someone that not only shares many of his interests, enjoys other things he might be intrigued by, but someone who is earnest and kind, who sees him for who he is and understands him in a way he probably has not been understood before. It’s not to disparage the connection Ford had with his brother, but I think what he has with Stan and what he has with Fiddleford are two very distinct connections and types of understanding. On that note, in a way, I think that Fiddleford, initially, somewhat filled the void left in Stan’s absence for Ford, at least subconsciously (and honestly…it could have even been a bit of a Mabel and Dippy Fresh type situation with Fiddleford representing everything Ford, at the moment, wished he had all this time). I think once that he saw that Fiddleford was a genuine and kind person, that switch from hesitation to golden retriever was flipped in a nanosecond.

Unfortunately, we don’t see much of their relationship in college, but again, based on Alex’s description and how readily they connect down the line, we can assume that it was a positive situation based on trust and love. I do wish we knew more about whether they kept in contact regularly after college or not. I can see them being the type of friends who could talk weekly or not speak for years and pick up like it was yesterday. I do imagine that life got in the way and Ford’s tendency to isolate did not help, but I like to think they called and wrote from time to time, maybe in bursts of talking regularly for a bit and then not at all for quite a long stretch. I’m speculating now! Back to focus on canon…

oh yeah i totally understand that sasuke stans aren't happy with how sasuke was treated post 699 so they want to remove him from naruto since he still is part of konoha but i think it's cruel to seperate sasuke from naruto (although naruto wants to change konoha its stated in the manga and wants sasuke to help him as well but this plot is then dropped). i think because naruto has repressed hatred for konoha and was lied to and neglected by them it makes me feel like he is able to understand sasuke more than some people give him credit for. and the whole ''sharing each other's pain'' is very significant to me and important to how sasuke and naruto can cope in the future because they have a person that has their back. i don't think team taka undestands sasuke as much as naruto. i get criticism of both sasuke and naruto but it's expected when sasuke stans dislike naruto they are going to be more harsh when criticizing him only labeling him as selfish and annoying and not understand there's so much more to him than that. i really believe he truly cares for sasuke's wellbeing and wants him to be happy not just do what naruto wants him to, that's kind of evident in how he doesn't keep sasuke in konoha in 699 and uses his privilege in being konoha's hero to help sasuke in his trial to have him travel freely without punishment. also naruto admitting he didn't understand sasuke and trying his best to see things from sasuke's pov and be non judgemental and refusing to turn him back on him like the rest of konoha makes me sure he would listen to what sasuke wants post war. i feel like in vote 2 naruto was opposed to the way sasuke went about his revolution and didn't just wish for things to stay the same or for sasuke to forget what happened to his family. he said he doesn't think sasuke would be able to forget them or forgive what happened to them and just said ''i can't leave you alone'' when he found out about sasuke's plan. even if he doesn't always do the right thing he does try very hard to do his best for sasuke lol. most of sasuke (and naruto) stans have selective reading. it's very hard to find blogs who like both naruto and sasuke and have good meta of both of them and how perfect they can be together even if they can be very turbulent. i guess i always believed no matter their differing views they could always find some middle ground. i'm very torn between naruto changing konoha as hokage alone so sasuke feels more comfortable visiting more often or sasuke being very involved in reforming konoha with naruto. i want them to travel together but i still wish they would change konoha together and maybe sasuke doesn't live there if he doesn't want to. also naruto was done dirty by the narrative too. please forgive me for the long rant

Naruto gives Sasuke peace in his heart, so obviously he does need Naruto. I don't agree with people who think he should be completely separated from Naruto. They have a connection like no other. Sasuke gave Naruto love, and Naruto committed to that love and bond. He committed to Sasuke. He also can admit his own mistakes and shortcomings unlike his stans. He can admit he acted bratty towards Sasuke out of jealousy. He can admit he didn't truly understand where Sasuke was coming from.

It would have been interesting if Naruto was allowed to express his repressed anger towards Konoha more. There's also the problem that while Naruto started with wanting to become hokage in order to be noticed, to be loved, it changed into "I'm strong, so I need to protect others, I need to be responsible" so we are stuck with Naruto having to protect and provide for people who treated him badly. With great power comes great responsibility and so on. It's obvious how everyone expects Naruto to handle things mostly on his own, and how Naruto himself tries to handle things on his own. Only with Sasuke it's different, because Sasuke stands with Naruto, beside him, not behind him expecting protection.

I know team Taka doesn't understand Sasuke as much as some Sasuke stans like to think, and neither do Naruto's friends understand him like Sasuke does.

Sasuke's last plan I have bitter feelings towards because it was just used as a means to an end to have the final fight and it wasn't well written at all. But with 698, we could have still gone somewhere... somewhere not Boruto.

The truth about CSers vs Regina Stans

A while back I made this distinction on twitter and I just thought I would preserve it here for the ages. I thought it was an interesting comparison and it got quite a few hits over on twitter so hopefully you all will find it eye opening as well.

The truth is CaptainSwan fans know Hook was a villain and we acknowledge it. We know there was sexual tension up on the beanstalk but we do not conflate that with love. Emma and Killian were not in love while they were still on opposite sides of good and evil. What happens between them prior to S2 ending is not indicative of two people who love each other. Most of us were even hesitant to begin shipping them until Season 3 when it became clearer that the pirate with a heart of gold beneath the guyliner and black leather armor was on his way toward a redemption.

CaptainSwan stans tend to be the kind that gravitate toward true hero characters. The majority of us know Killian Jones is devilishly handsome no matter what but for the most part it's hero Killian that truly makes us swoon.

Contrast that with those that claim Regina & Emma fell in love at first sight while Regina was verbally, emotionally and physically abusing and attempting to murder Emma. This is the majority of the Swanqueen fandom.

Also, the majority of Regina stans deny she’s murdered children, raped a man, abused Henry and has been abusive toward Emma, Killian and Snow. They find her destroying people hot. And I’m sorry but that’s sick.

Here are some examples but really it's a widespread fandom issue.

Yes, Killian stans tend to focus on seeing the best in him... just like Emma does... but that doesn’t mean we aren’t aware that he was a ruthless pirate. Difference the show actually put effort into changing Killian and we saw that transformation and it's that change that makes him irresistible!

Lets take this a step further and review how Regina stans see the characters vs how CaptainSwan fans, who follow actual canon, see the characters.

You might be a HookedQueen stan if you think our Killian chased every skirt (doubtful) and now loves hearing Regina always putting him down.

"No "Captain Guyliner," no "One-Handed Wonder"? Where are the bon mots tonight?"

You might be a HookedQueen stan if you believe an evil mass murdering bitch that didn't think twice about murdering children would be able to help a vengeful pirate and herself find redemption. How? They would have fueled each other's evil tendencies.

Also you might be a HookedQueen stan if you call CaptainSwan incest (wrong) while at the same time believing that Hook slept with Cora and Regina (wrong and wrong) and finding that sexy. That is much closer to incest.

But you might be a CaptainSwan fan if you think Killian worked for his redemption because he wanted to be a better man not only because he fell in love with Emma, a woman who believed and supported him, and wanted to be worthy of her but because it was always who he was meant to be.

I'm Team Killian Jones. Are you?

You might be a SwanQueen fan if you think Emma is a dumb blonde with low self esteem that Regina walks all over. You believe Emma loving a man is weakness because you refuse to accept the fact that Kilian supported, encouraged and believed in Emma a hell of a lot more than Regina ever did. But that makes Emma weak whereas Emma not defending herself against Regina's insults in canon as well as in your fanon is a sign of true love and a healthy relationship. Because how could two women be abusive?

But.... You might be a CaptainSwan fan if you think Emma is a strong, independent, hero who has the undying love and support of a heroic man. You also believe that loving someone isn't weakness but that Emma found even more strength when she stopped being afraid of love and her walls came down.

I'm Team Emma. Are you?

I think one of the main reasons I'm annoyed about the buildmart discourse this time around is that it feels like it's overshadowing Orange's win? And buildmart discourse pops up all the time, and I know most people discussing it do in fact think Orange got a deserved win. You shouldn't have to put a disclaimer on your buildmart discourse posts that you think Orange deserved to win, but people are getting the wrong implications and it's causing friction.

But I think one of the reasons it's so bad this time, is because of the timing. It feels dismissive to all of the Grian fans, who are overjoyed, because Grian in particular is good at the game and his viewers normally like it and Grian finally won. So people are on edge--when severe buildmart discourse pops up immediately after someone good at it wins, us Grian fans feel like there's an implication that Orange didn't deserve to win or they only won because of it. And, while I don't review statistics, I don't believe that's true--Orange were in either 1st, 2nd, or 3rd basically the entire event. Grian never left the top 10 the whole time. They popped off and I truly think they could've won without BM.

But when you're looking at rancid tumblr discourse, you got to realize that the pro-buildmart side is on the defensive. They feel talked over and ignored because their fave players are normally ones who don't get the highest views or do the best at pvp games. Dream is allowed an opinion on the game, and I know he doesn't control his fans, but his timing is pretty bad this time because he has a HUGE fanbase on twitter who is already upset he lost and looking for something to blame. They're his fans so they're empathetic to his frustration, but not all express it well. As a result there ARE people on twitter saying the Orange didn't deserve to win. There ARE people whining and being rude in the qrts of the winner announcement. There ARE people accusing Scott of being biased and keeping buildmart only because he's good at it, despite him not controlling games. There ARE people who sent death threats to Quig for wanting buildmart (and proof exists.) There ARE people who consistently belittle the hermits and make fun of them, and sometimes when you're a fan of them or smaller streamers it feels like you're fighting for your life to get some recognition in the face of the wider fanbase. People aren't upset over nothing.

I also think Dream made a mistake mentioning Grian by name in his comment--we can argue all day whether or not his points were right, I'm not talking about that, but i think the timing of it right after Grian's win was poor because it set off a wave of people belittling the win or saying he only won because of BM. It drags Grian and his fanbase directly into the discourse when they're at peak excitement, and thus they go on the defense. They accuse Dream of being a sore loser. I think Dream should've waited until a day or two later and it might be better, but I genuinely don't know since we've become so polarized as a fandom. And it didn't help that Sapnap literally called people pussies for not wanting pvp games (implying that being bad at pvp makes you a pussy.) I hope he intended it as a joke but it just came off as incredibly rude and Hbomb rightfully called him on it. That attitude is one everyone feels they're fighting against when they're fans of non-pvpers. Sapnap obviously isn't Dream and Dream doesn't control what his friends say, but the Dream Team "brand" is strong enough that what any single member says will reflect onto all of them in some people's eyes. Whether or not that should be the case I'm not arguing, I'm just stating how I've seen people view it.

So the issue is that we're both at severe odds to each other and nobody is getting anywhere in this discourse. People who like buildmart feel attacked and on the defensive, because it gets used to belittle their faves and the CCs who dislike the game have much larger fanbases to argue against. They feel the games inclusion gives an opportunity for non-pvp players to shine, and worry that if it gets removed, it'll put MCC one step closer to being catered to pvpers. I'm not arguing whether or not this logic is sound, I'm just explaining what I perceive to be the issue. It's also worth saying that Dream fans also feel attacked and on the defensive. Dream is a large CC who's been in a lot of controversies (and we're not gonna discuss his faults in that) and as such, his name gets dragged through the mud a lot. He has the largest fanbase but also the largest amount of hate. He also takes most heat from outside the fandom--most people who "hate mcyt" actually just hate Dream. People who are fans of CCs other than Dream benefit from this shield, but Dream stans get hate from all sides. Therefore, it becomes really easy to interpret any crit on Dream as hate that needs to be defended against. So that side of the fandom is on the defensive too.

So we go in circles on this discourse. "Everybody hates it and it adds no value to the event." No, not everyone hates it--and those who don't hate it aren't only Grian or hermits either, they include people like Hbomb and Shubble and Fruitberries and other CCs. Does it add value? People argue all day over that and I won't get into in my post. People have widely differing opinions on it and I don't actually think there is a right answer, despite everyone arguing like there is one. Is the game ableist? Absolutely not, and i can't believe we got discourse over that. Is it still possibly causing issues for some neurodivergent CCs who dislike it and overwhelming them? Sure, it totally could be! I can see how it might mess with Dream's ADHD and make it hard for him, thus making him hate it, although people should stop speaking for him on his own experiences and saying it's definitively the case. Maybe something can be tweaked to help that. But remember that accessibility and neurodivergence is varied and there is no "one size fits all." I've seen just as many ND fans saying that buildmart causes no problems for them as I have ND fans saying it overwhelms them. There's no simple right answer to most of these questions brought up in discourse.

So what's the answer? I don't know. I don't know and I cannot speak for everyone. But I do know it hurt really badly to be so excited for Grian's win, only to watch my dash plummet into some of the most hateful discourse I've ever seen.
