How do you think each each incubus likes to cuddle and hold their S/O?

Honestly, all of these apply for each boy, but I just put which one is their favorite and some little headcanons. (Can you tell I really liked this ask?)

James- He prefers spooning, him as the big spoon. He likes the security it gives him, like he's protecting them. He'll rub their side and stomach, pressing soft kisses to the back of their head.

Erik- He likes his partners head on his chest. He likes being able to kiss their head, rubbing his hands up and down their back. He likes spooning as well. He'll tell them how beautiful they are as they lay there.

Sam- He is very intense while cuddling, more than the other brothers at times. Likes being tangled with his partner, face to face. He likes how connected he and his partner feel in the moment. He likes nuzzling their foreheads together. He also likes being able to watch them as they sleep.

(It's almost like spooning, but facing each other?)

Matthew- He likes putting his head on his partners stomach as a pillow. He'll give them sweet kisses over their stomach. Alternatively, he likes having his partners head on his chest. It makes him feel protective.

Damien- He likes spooning, with him as the little spoon. His partners arms wrapped around him firmly make him feel loved and wanted. He also likes being able to use their chest or shoulders as a pillow, pressing sweet kisses to their cheeks before going to sleep. He also likes to nuzzle his head against their chest.

⭐️Seduce me the otome: Hold Me AU Redesigns!⭐️

First post here on tumblr with more thoughts then just “huhuhu look i art pretty?” Hoping to develop this AU for this old ass fandom I’ve been apart of for like AGES. This AU is called Hold Me Like I Matter. And follows the Twin sisters Rika and Mika. Rika is definitely more of the main character just for a different perspective and personality. But Mika is still here! Just more of a supporting character for the time being, but I do plan to write a fic dedicated to her as well. Hold me Like I Matter is focused on Rika though. So mostly you’ll see me talking about her. Another thing this is a full AU facts, lore and backstories ARE different if a little similar. But fundamentally this is a different world. Thus the visual novel aspect of the game is not present and is written as if it is a novel. So there are no multiple love interests only one. The main love interest for this story? Matthew!

Now onto the Boys and there redesigns! For the most part I’m happy with all of these so you won’t see many details change. But let’s talk about each redesign even if it’s only a little bit and why I choose the things I did. And as a general note! I added red/pink in there eyes and gave them all various levels of freckles to show they are related despite being half siblings. There dad has red eyes and freckles.

Erik

Pretty simple, just made him more fashionable and less like a James look alike. At least in his clothes. Gave him an undercut cuz I feel it just fits him somehow. I myself am not the best clothes designer so his clothes are simple. But I feel for casual comfort it still works. And still shows off his more dramatic side if more subdued.

James

Gave him a sweater instead, but still kept his book/proper aesthetic.

Sam

So Sams design is more close to his OG, just gave him cargo pants and got rid of his shirt. There is a lore reason for this! Because he is more brute demon he runs automatically hotter. The more angry brute demons are or the more rage they have festering the hotter there bodies get. Which can cause them ti set things on fire when they touch something or melt through walls. This heat is controllable but typically most brutes like to have little to no clothing since usually there skin is already rock hard. Sam is fine literally no matter what the weather is. He can go shirtless in the snow and it will be an average temp to him. So he needs clothes a lot less then his brothers due. Tho they all still have this same trait. The angrier they are the hotter they get.

Mathew

He hates shoes? No he wares flip flops or slides so he can take them off easier but still wares them when he goes out and about. Pretty much the same otherwise gave him black skeleton sweats instead of jeans. And some buttons on his hoodie to represent his brothers.

Damien

More or less the same, gave him a longer coat. Kept the white pants, his eyes are brown rather than purple-blue. And he has naturally black hair! A trait that I stole from @new-tella-us ‘s Damien design! He dyes his hair the same color as Erik’s to look more like his brother. For several traumatic reasons that I feel anyone reading this may understand.

Rika & Mika

They are Twins! But as they got older Rika got taller while Mika stayed more or less the same height she was in high school. Rika looks more tried for manny MANNY reasons. And tends to not ware makeup. Mika dose so she can easily hide any eyebags better then her sister. Rika keeps her hair long and simply shampooed and brushed while Mika curls her hair slightly. It’s still obvious they are twins. They sound the same just with different tones. And they have the same face and eye shape, just due to Rika tiredness her eyes are more half lidded looking.

On the topic of Damien being more than his trauma, can we talk about how unhinged he kinda is?

Like, 1. Micheala has stated he would be the most likely to be a yandere (other then Diana) AND we have a audio of this exact scenario playing out.

2. His whole entire fight with Malix, like, he was SADISTIC while fighting him, straight up taunting him throughout the whole fight. That and how willing to throw hands with Diana in the second game when he found out that she lied.

3. Damien being a straight up snitch half the time?? Like, he is not afraid to expose his brothers and what they are thinking about. There are multiple times throughout the first, second games and even the EPISODES where he says what his brothers are thinking and they get upset at him for it (Rightfully so) Honestly that's like peak little sibling behavior.

Moral of the story, I need more unhinged Damien because it is honestly hilarious.

I Hear a Symphony

Part 2

Summary: Here is the long waited part two to the original story of “I Hear a Symphony” I created three endings, one for each boy.

AN: I really hope you enjoy reading these as I had a lot of fun writing this for you guys!

James Ending

“Y/N, wait!” she heard someone call her name in a rushed tone.

That’s all she remembered as she ran until she couldn’t anymore. She ended up at her grandfather’s grave, at the local cemetery. She came here from time to time to talk to him. Even though he can’t respond back to her, it provided her comfort knowing that he is still watching her. Her feet were sore as she took off her shoes near the cemetery gatefall. She moves to sit on her knees in front of the stone. The glossy surface reflects as she can see her tear stained face and ruined makeup.

As soon as she started to run he shouted her name to get her attention but he could only watch her rushed footsteps. He knew that he shouldn’t have expressed his feelings, especially since Erik and Sam did the same. She was going through so much with her grandfather passing, James taking over the company that she was once given, and managing with the incubi living with her. She was overwhelmed, and adding romantic feelings on top didn’t help. He knew exactly where to find her as she had taken him to talk to Harold before. Hot on her heels he made his way towards the cemetery gate just outside of the factory to see her beautiful flat shoes ruined. He picked them up and continued on. Soon enough he sees her kneeling at the cold stone grave as he sighs with relief.

Her heart is still pounding in her chest as she sighs looking at her hands to envision James hands over top hers. She wondered where James was after her panic. She was so distracted by her thoughts about how she acted that she didn’t hear the footsteps approaching her.

“I knew you would be here.” James' smooth voice made the girl shiver as her orbs widened with embarrassment as James helped her stand up to meet his gaze. James looked at her once white dress to find it ruined with the weather, she met his gaze but quickly looked at his chest as her face was blushing.

James was lost in his thoughts that he noticed the girl wrap her arms around him as she buried her face in his expensive suit. He looked down to pull her in closer to warm her up from the cold north wind. After a comfortable silence and a couple of her tears wiped away he looked at her with concern. He didn’t feel cold as he noticed they were protected by the wind. They both looked at the grave in question as being buried underground couldn’t stop the warlock’s powerful demon magic.

“Y/N,” James lifted the girls face as she gazed into his whiskey coloured eyes, “I’m sorry for tonight Miss, I shouldn’t have expressed my feelings towards you during a stressful time.”

“James I-” she started but James made a shushing noise as he took off his black tuxedo jacket to wrap around the girls’ shoulders. Her hair wrapped around her face as she could feel the warmth and his perfume in the air.

“Love, I want you to know that my feelings for you are real. I deeply care about you,” James pulled her in closer to whisper, “Ever since you let me, and my brothers stay after the Malix attack. You are a wonderful and generous woman and I love you. I don’t expect an answer now as it’s been an eventful evening.” He deeply chuckles at her blushing.

James could feel the girls tears well up again as he pulls her in to comfort her but instead the girl reaches up on her tip toes as her hands go around his neck to give the confused incubi a kiss on the lips. He moaned at the contact he could feel her energy as his eyes were gold for a minute before snaping closed, as he picked her up, with her legs wrapped around his thighs and he gently placed her on top of the grave. Soon enough James felt her tongue on his lips asking as he quickly took control as it started to get hotter between kisses. His hands pulled her closer as they slowly ended the kiss. Looking back up at James with heavy breathing and blushing she looked at his white dress shirt while James was smiling back at her with his full demon form on display. His golden horns and markings made him feel powerful and protective of her. The kiss was enough to show her feelings, but she wanted to say it back.

“Raestrao.” At the sound of his real name the incubus looked down as his grip tightened around her waist while his eyes flicked gold.

“I love you as well.”

Sam Ending

“Y/N, wait!” she heard someone call her name in a concerned voice.

Sam was the first one to notice her fresh tears rolling down her cheeks. He wished that he could have seen it sooner, before she ran.

During the dance Sam couldn’t have noticed how worried she was, he thought that she was having a fun time while in his arms. His forest eyes sharpened after he shouted her name to get her to stop. He quickly turned around to follow her footsteps, but not before flipping off his oldest brothers. He stopped to see a framed photo of her with her grandfather. She looked so happy; he couldn’t believe that this gray-haired old man was the warlock Harold; who allowed him to come to the human world so that he could be with his brothers.

He finally found a door that led to the polished backyard, with a large dark wooden deck that included a wide staircase near the bottom. He walked outside and a large blast of cool air hit his face as his footsteps made no sound. He sees her now, his doofus sitting on the last step with her shoes off and her bare feet in the wet grass. He heard her sigh as she stared at the night sky hoping for a solution.

She placed her hands in a prayer, he overheard her whisper, “Grandfather , please guide me!”

Sam let out a sigh as he used his demon magic to let out a green chain. He used it to bound his magic to his suit jacket. He wanted to create a distraction for her so that he could pull off his plan.

She gasped at the sight of a suit jacket being carried by a green chain. It moved so gracefully and the familiar green glow provided comfort. She started to laugh as the arms swooped up around her.

“Oh! You want me to follow you?” She questioned as the jacket glowed bright green, as if it could answer her question.

She was really confused but she let the jacket led her though a small clearing near a forest to see a small dance floor made from grass with fairy lights around the large brown trees. She was led into a dance in her bare feet in the wet grass. It allowed her to forget about what was going on and just allowed her to let go. Sam creeped over to see her smiling and laughing as the jacket was copying his dance moves from before. His chest puffed up in pride as his plan was working. Soon enough the jacket spun her away in the dark while Sam got into position to take over as the wind playfully pulled her back right into his arms.

“Sam!” She squeaked in embarrassment while he let out a hearty laugh, “Was all this your doing?” She remarks as his forest green eyes confirm with sincerity.

“Yeah, I planned this little scheme,” he turned her as the moonlight was their spotlight, “ Matthew is not the only one who can create romantic moments, ya know?” He smirked.

But before he could continue he tripped over a tree trunk and the both of them tumbled down the hill. His arms quickly went around her to stabilize her as he took most of the damage. She found herself under Sam as he carefully placed his hands above her head as she was laughing before he could ask her if she was okay.

“Oi! What’s so funny doofus?” He barked at her.

“Oh, it’s just that I haven’t seen you so graceful in a while.” She sneers

“Hey! I’m graceful,” his green eyes locked on her, “that was just a one time thing.”

He rolled off her as they sat up at the bottom of the hill that was facing a small lake. He looked at the two of them to see grass stains on both of their outfits as he knew that Erik was going to be upset at his creations. He took off his jacket to throw it at her, in surprise she fumbled with it before she quickly covered her shoulders.

“Thank you Amories.” She whispers as their eyes caught as she could see the quick colour change.

“It’s no problem doofus, " he looked over to see her sigh in relief, “You need it more than me anyways.”

“Do you really have feelings for me?” She asked after a comfortable silence.

“Of course I do! You’re the first person to see through my tough exterior, I made a total ass of myself when we first met and I wanted to make it up to you ever since.” He got quiet as he continued, “but then I found out that James and Erik had feelings too and then I felt trapped. James is a perfect gentleman while Erik knows exactly how to swoon you and I just don’t have any of that.” He looks right into her shining orbs as she moves to get closer to the incubus, “I know what qualities I have and that I like to think that actions speak louder than words.”

She gasped as slowly their bodies started to get closer as he wraps one arm around her waist while the other one rests on her face as they kissed. She could feel no energy being taken as she could feel all the love and protection that Sam was pouring into her. Her hands wrapped around his neck allowing him to pull her closer as she is straddling him. They moved their lips in sync with the rhythm of their bodies as they both parted to breathe.

“Wow, that was amazing!” She giggled as Sam had a look of passion in his golden orbs, “ I love you Sam!”

Sam leaped in joy as he put his arm around her, “I promise to do everything I can to make you smile and laugh along with me. Forever.”

He kissed her on the cheek as he laid with her on the wet green grass enjoying the beautiful sunset that was over on the horizon.

Erik Ending

“Princess! Please come back!” Erik begged as he watched her run away.

He quickly pulled himself together to chase after her but before he could James and Sam stopped him from leaving by grabbing his wrists.

“James. Sam. Please let me go! I need to find her!” He pleaded with them.

“Erik, I have known you longer than anyone else and why would I let you chase after her when you are just going to use her.” Sam snarked back while James slowly nods. Agreeing with him.

“Because I actually have deep feelings for this woman! My mother did raise me to be the perfect incubi and worked at my charming skills but I was never truly happy back home! The amount of women I had to seduce was a chore and I hated myself after every incident! What was worse is that my mother encouraged these behaviours! We all had to do what we were told tosurvive that hell hole!!” Erik yelled as the brothers could see his spiritual energy rising with his rage.

He was able to push Sam's hand away from him as he walks over to where James and Sam were standing as he continues, “Now that I have found a beautiful, smart, and talented woman who is able to see who I truly am and you all want to get in my way!” Erik got really close to his eldest brother with an evil messed up grin.

“I would like to see you guys try.” He taunted them as he clenched his fists.

Now all of his brothers turned in shock to see that Erik was threatening them all. It has been true that back home he was nicknamed the ‘Sly one, second son of the demon lord’. Looking back they could never tell how Erik would feel after his sessions, nor did they ask. All of that pent up aggression that Erik held onto was not healthy and the brothers looked at each other in understanding. Since coming to the human world they have seen Erik in a brand new light. Ever since he met the women of the house he became more helpful and learned about the human customs instead of falling back on what he used to know.

They remember how she took them into her home dispute with her sister. She taught them, gave them all support, and within a couple months they turned into a family. A true family like Matthew would put it.

James turned to place his hand on Erik’s shoulder before letting out a sigh, “Erik, no one is here to fight you,” he begins as Erik cools down, “We all know that you have fought very hard to prove to yourself you are not who you used to be. We know that you deserve happiness and I want you to find her and tell her the truth.” He gave him a smile, “We know that we can trust you and you are a great man for her.”

Erik smiled at his brothers feeling the rage leaving his body “ Thank you guys! With all of my heart I love you.”

He adjusted his black tie before leaving, “Wish me luck!” He shouted as he left the room to find his princess.

Meanwhile the girl got tired of running and she was now wondering where the production line of the factory was. She remembers coming here as a child to see her grandfather who would allow her to create new toys for children to play with. All of his employees loved her enthusiasm and enjoyed her company.

She glanced up to see a large portrait of her grandfather, Harold in his most elaborate black and white suit. She smiled as she got closer to examine the artwork. All of a sudden the portrait started to move, like her grandfather was trying to tell her something. She let out a small scream as she quickly backed away terrified.

“As if my night can get any worse!” She snarked towards the portrait as it said nothing. She gave the portrait one last cold glare before walking away.

Erik was running down the hallway in desperation trying to find his princess when he heard a woman's scream. He stopped and listened to gasp as that was his princess scream. He pointed out the direction it came from and continued on with determination.

Soon enough Erik made it to the production line. He knew the area well from Matthew talking about working on the floor often at the dinner table. He walked around observing the large machines as he heard her wonderful voice again.

“As if my night can get any worse!”

Erik tried to pinpoint her location but he soon detected demon magic in the air. He could see that the warlock was following his princess. It reminded him of a ghost; with a teal glow outlined his body as he was in his human form. He quickly ran up the stairs to follow them.

She was finally in her grandfather's office. She would come here a lot when her father would drop her off. She slumped down in his large office chair and looked out the large window that was facing the lake.

She heard a noise around the office door that startled her. She took a deep breath before she quickly grabbed the nearest item which was a sharp pencil. The door opened and with a shout she then turned to stab the intruder, but she was met with her grandfather's ghost and the pencil right through him with no pain.

“Grandfather?” She shakly spoke. The ghost nodded as he quickly moved his hands on top of hers.

“ I heard your prayer and I came to help you.” It spoke just like he would she puzzled

She looked into his eyes to see his own green eyes staring back at her. Her eyes started to tear up as her grandfather held her as she cried.

“I miss you so much!” She hiccuped, “I knew you would come back.”

He smiled at her, “I never left.” He used his magic to show the brothers waiting in the ballroom, “ Now my dearest, why did you leave?” She took in the question to notice that Erik wasn’t present.

“Well,” she started, “ I was overwhelmed with your passing and with James running the company that you started I just needed to breathe as I didn’t know how you would feel about James taking over.”

��I see. I find that James is the perfect CEO for the company. He has charm, and the business skills. I feel pride that he threw this party for me.”

She looks at him with a questionable look, “You were there?”

“Of course I was! I needed to see my two grandchildren! Now I think the real reason you came up here was to run from Erik.”

“Erik? Now why would I hide from him?”

“It’s because you are scared to move on and be happy with him.” He told

“I’m not scared!” She challenged back.

“Oh,” he let out a laugh, “Uzaeris, I know that you are there. Come here.”

Her eyes went wide, “What! Erik is here! How?” She turned to face him but was met with purple eyes instead. Erik held her hands while she was in shock.

“Yes, princess, I followed you here.” He started, “Princess I’m so sorry to bring up my feelings tonight as you were clearly not ready to hear them. I think that your grandfather is right, since his passing you have been ignoring me and my brothers. I want to help you,” his hand moved a strand of hair behind her ear, “but you need to be ready and open to talk.”

She started to relax in his embrace, “Erik I,” she started but started to sob in his arms. He quickly rubbed her back as she cried about the loss. After a while Erik moved them to sit on the couch next to the desk.

“Do you feel better princess?” He questioned.

“Yes Erik. I feel better now. I think that I learned that it’s good to express my emotions and feelings.”

She moved to straddle his lap as Erik purred seductively. “Princess! What are you doing?”

“I’m finally not holding back anymore.” She smirked

“What do you-.” Erik couldn’t respond as she leaned in and kissed him.

He quickly recovered as his eyes snapped shut as his hands moved to her waist as hers went into his red locks. He took control and he could feel her energy as he used his tongue to swipe her mouth as she let his muscle explore her wet mouth. They were both painting as he slowed the kiss to allow her to breathe.

He opened his eyes to see his princess with a big smile and her flushed face. He smiled back at her.

“So princess, how was that?” He teased her as she blushed due to his boldness.

“I love you.” She whispered around the dark room while his violet eyes soothed her.

He kissed her again to show her that he loved her without using words. Erik could still feel the demon magic in the air as he went to kiss her neck. He took one look to see her grandfather looking at him with a nod of understanding.

His last words he worded to him was, “Please take care of my granddaughter, Uzaeris. I trust you.” Erik nodded back as he vanished away, leaving him and his princess in the room.

“Now my princess, let’s go home.”

She nodded as he gracefully picked her up bridal style. He puffed his chest with pride as he walked to meet the gang. She cuddled closer to his chest as she was falling asleep.

Character Analyzing in Seduce Me

If there’s one thing you should know about me, I love character writing. A story is only as good as the characters in it, and a big part of what makes me like or at least be intrigued about a character is its writing. However, the character writing in Seduce Me is… fine.

Big props to Michaela Laws, she has worked so hard in making me want to know so much more about a character, but unfortunately, a lot of that curiosity is locked behind a whole account, @sm-asks (which I highly recommend any new person or person wanting to learn more about the game check out because you can get lost in the account). Don’t get me wrong, I love the game, but I feel as though things are lacking and that’s what the account is for. Any person who has a question about the game goes on the blog and asks which Michaela then answers. But what of the people who don’t know about the blog who are missing a big chunk of the story?

I’ve learned pretty recently that if I have to look at another form of media to research a question that I have about something like a show or game, then the game is not doing a good job of expressing its storytelling. Now of course, having a comic or book about said form of said adding on to interesting or fun tidbits about a character by making something like a side story is fine, but if I know nothing about a certain character or plot I should know more about, why should I be forced to look somewhere else.

Of course, the game does a great job at expanding on characters like the incubi and Diana, but there are a ton of characters in Seduce Me. There are the incubi’s moms, their wives, the MC’s friends, the generals in the second game, the devils, etc.

Now obviously I get why Michaela wasn’t able or didn’t want to explain every aspect of every character (hence why sm-asks exists), but I feel like it’s kind of a waste to make these characters only to barely describe who they are. What I hate most is having a character JUST to further the plot, you might as well just have a box with a sign that says, “It’s dangerous to go alone, here have some trauma.” And while yes, characters are an important part of the story, again, it feels like a waste to write a character and only use them once for the story and never bring them up again. This is why I’m talking about character analyzing :DDD.

“So what is character analyzing?” I hear you ask, well the simple answer is looking at a certain character and figuring out who they are based on their interactions. But I like to go even more in-depth. We’re going balls deep into this shit baby >:D! I like looking at a character not only based on interactions but also on how they think, their feelings, how they changed, their sight, their taste, their smell, ok may not be that deep but you catch my drift.

Characters are only as good as the storytelling and the best way to tell a story is to connect. No single human is a single thought or action, humans are complex, what they do may not match what they think, what they think may not match how they feel, what they feel may not match what they do, and the cycle goes on and on.

But humans are not characters. A character isn’t always allowed on every path. Take Zeus and Hera from Greek mythology for example. They aren’t humans, they’re gods. Gods dedicate everything to one thing (or things) and they have to follow it. Hera is the goddess of marriage. If she sees someone cheating (cough cough her husband) she will take action. But since she can’t punish the LITERAL KING OF GODS, she has to punish the mistress even if they had no say in the situation, which is fucked up but a human wouldn’t do something like that, and Hera is not a human. Zeus is the god of hospitality, so if he sees you breaking the rules of hospitality, he will fight back. The gods are characters, consistently used to portray the story.

Now I want you to take everything I said about characters, humans, and gods, and throw that away. I like to consider humans and characters similarly because that makes for more interesting characters. Seeing a character as one thing doesn’t help the character, considering their complexity will help further analyze how they are in the story and what their actions were and will continue. Makes sense? Just follow my lead ;).

Let’s pick out a character from Seduce Me. Let’s do Sam because he’s the easiest to analyze (that’s not true at all XD). When we first meet Sam, he’s brash and short-tempered. Always fighting, always swearing XD, is constantly forceful (I’m running out of adjectives clearly ;v;). He’s your stereotypical bad boy and you can tell because he ripped off the sleeves of a perfectly good varsity jacket >:(

This is pretty good information to start with. However, when we pick his route, we start to figure out more information about him. First of all, his powers are super strength and speed. Second, while being short-tempered, he does tai chi. Tai chi is a form of martial arts that focuses more on rehabilitation with slow, focused motions and gentle breathing. Despite what “Karate Kid” says, martial arts is less about everyday combat and more about self-defense, and tai chi isn’t a high-impact form of martial arts. It isn’t like karate or taekwondo where the focus is more on using your body to deal blows, tai chi is closer to yoga from what I researched. This is quite surprising coming from Sam considering what we just learned when we first met him. Even the MC comments on this. Why choose Tai Chi over any other martial arts?

The more we go through his route, the more we learn that he had no reason to leave and just wanted to leave with his brothers, even though he doesn’t see the appeal of the human world. We also learn that being a demon means a lot to him. It goes more in-depth in the second game with the Binding Spell, but it is something we learn pretty late in the first game.

Now you might think I’m just listing off different things that happen in the game when interacting with Sam, but each of these interactions I can tie to an assumption. If I could skip over the first few parts for a moment,

* “Powers are super strength and speed”

- The strongest and fastest of his brothers

* “While being short-tempered, he does tai chi”

- Does tai chi as a way to calm down or is calm but gets labeled as hot-headed

* “Doesn’t see the appeal of the human when finding out at first” and “being a demon means a lot to him”

- Both points can go well together, being a demon is something very close to him which would make him hesitant about leaving his home

With these few points I just brought up, we can now look at the first few points I made and start contradicting when we first met him versus what we learned about him.

* “He’s brash and short-tempered”

- He might know of this and work towards it, but I like to think we assume this just from first interactions because we don’t see him do this after we get to know him (I mean outside of flashbacks)

* “Always fighting, always swearing”

- He is the strongest of his brothers, physically speaking. The always swearing thing I feel like that’s just habit, (I might be the nicest people who swear like sailors XD)

* “He’s your stereotypical bad boy”

- Judging by other points I brought up, I feel as though it’s just a style more than an actual personality because again, the more I see Sam, the more I start to think.

Sam doesn’t seem like the tough bad boy with anger issues. He acts more chill around us and his brothers (most of the time). We can look into his past as well. He was a middle child, he’s the only brute demon amongst his brothers, he never learned to read or write meaning he spent his time fighting and light pillaging.

If there’s one thing I’ve considered with brute demons is that while yes they can get angry (and usually do) they technically don’t have to be angry all the time, they only feed off of anger. Think of the 3 demons we know are brute demons. Sam, the Demon Lord, and Sergeant. Sure, from time to time, they do get angry, but they aren’t always angry. I’ve mentioned how Sam is pretty chill, but I also think that Sergeant is pretty chill unless he gets angry due to unreasonable circumstances, which is a fair reason to get angry. He’s determined and holds a lot of willpower, but that doesn’t relatively mean he has to get angry. And the Demon Lord is just plain evil. I can’t see him being angry, I only see him as a spoiled toddler XD.

With Sam being a middle child and not being taught basic learning I think can go together as well. Think about the stereotype of middle children, always forgotten and seeking attention. This would explain why the Demon Lord only cared about coddling James and abusing Damien while completely ignoring the rest. Sam never got any attention unless his mom appeared to give him a daily check-up. He probably had just enough attention to slip away and do whatever without getting caught.

A lot of the characters are very complex the more you get to know them, but Sam I feel is a little more concrete. While yes, I did say that a lot of the points we know of first meeting him versus getting to know him contradict, I completely understand why he would be considered and why he’s more like the ladder. I’ve always seen Sam as the more emotional of his brothers. One thing I know about anger issues is that people just don’t get it for no reason, in some cases, they get angry because the people around them don’t understand what they’re trying to prove. Sometimes they would get so angry that they’d start crying. I’ve always wanted that side of anger issues to be shown. The most I know of someone having anger issues is that they just want to be heard and understood, and Sam sticks out to me because of that. Constantly being told that you’re angry because you are a brute demon would lead to you constantly wanting to be understood and then getting angry for not being understood. Showing those emotions to me would make him feel more human. He doesn’t have to be one thing just off first base, he’s allowed to feel certain ways based on interactions.

Or at least that’s just how I see it. Everyone assumes different things based on what they think. Some use research while others use their own experiences, I use a combination of both. But if you are curious about a character, I highly recommend you take the time to analyze them and see what they could be through your thoughts. If you don’t know how to start, make a mind map, they look like the eponym of garbled thoughts spat up on a piece of paper. If you don’t know how to start it, start with a question and write the answer down (of course, you might want to make sure you write down why you made the point just so you know). Then look at the answer and start looking into where, this will start to make you think of why they act like that and research some more. Every thought has a string and it’s up to you to follow it and if you should stop.

I find character analysis fun. They not only help me understand a story better but also with writing my characters. Of course, you might want to do someone easier like Damien or Erik because they just have so much obvious shit written about them. And since I do enjoy analyzing characters, I might do this with the other characters (I have some fun ones in mind ;)), however, that might take like 80 years, so you might want to bear with me. But until then, I’m going back to fighting the urge to replay Seduce Me and staring at a wall for 15 hours.
