Wanda took a slow breath as she leaned into the arms wrapping around her. He was fine. She could sense him in her mind, could feel his pulse through their bond. He was fine. But for a moment, Pietro crying out in pain had sent her back to Sokovia, to feeling like she’d lost him, to the horrible silence that had followed until his body had healed enough and she’d been able to reestablish their mental connection. 

Arms wrapped around her girlfriend, her body slowly relaxing as she let the Laurel’s presence soothe her, the way she always did. After a few moments, she lifted her head to offer a small smile, hoping to reassure the other that she was settled. “Are you alright?”

The smile that crossed Laurel's lips were bemused. "Yeah," she responded softly, eyebrows furrowing as she took in the other woman. "Yeah, I know." She could not help the frisson of worry that crept down her smile, however. "Is something wrong?" Had she done something?

Witchy as a term of endearment was still new to her but it made her smile, hearing all the fondness and affection in Laurel’s tone. Hands settle at Laurel’s waist, leaning into her girlfriend so she could meet the kiss. It was such a simple thing but it made Wanda want to melt into her and just spend the day curled around Laurel. “Hi, love.”

They got nights in far more often than Wanda was expecting, not that she would ever complain about that, not when it meant getting to spend more time with Laurel, more time recovering from everything that had come before, more time learning how to use these powers that she’d gained from that experiment. Practicing took a lot of her, though, which why she’d been curled into Laurel for most of the evening, enjoying the way her presence soothed Wanda’s constantly busy mind. 

Laurel’s words made Wanda focus her attention on the woman instead of the movie they’d put on, searching her face for something, anything, some sign that she didn’t fully mean those words that so few people had ever told her. “I love you so much.” Lips curled into a smile as she leaned in to press a kiss to Laurel’s lips, feeling more happy than she’d felt in years. For the first time, in a very long time, she felt like she was grounded. Like she had a home. Something that mostly came from Laurel, Wanda was sure.
