Very slight redesign of Allura from MLP G5 for my next gen universe. Her design isn't awful by any means (it's better than Opaline's lol), but I just tweaked her colors a bit and changed her hair to resemble that of a maned lioness rather than her obvious girly human hair. 

Story wise I’m only going off her debut in the Secrets of Starlight special, I’m still not interested in watching Tell Your Tale to follow Allura’s arc there. Anyway, in my AU I’ve replaced Starlight Ridge with the Crystal Empire, and the Auroricorns are instead distant descendants of the Crystal Ponies. Allura’s deal with them is that she wants to steal the Crystal Heart and use the Crystal ponies/Auroricorns’ positive energy for her own personal gains for reasons I haven’t quite fleshed out yet.

Idk if I should keep her backstory that she was separated from her brother Alterro through a portal or not. Considering how much FIM had its very large diverse number of magical creatures I personally don’t see why Allura’s species can’t just exist in Equestria as opposed to a separate dimension.

UGH SO I WATCHED THE NEW MLP CHAPTER-

Just watched Secrets of Starlight! my thoughts are:

-ok when I saw that it was called “Secrets of Starlight” and that the title was colored similar to Starlight Glimmer, I assumed it was a coincidence… I did not expect a giant throwback/homage to her a la the isolated village, the forced smiling, etc. Cool!

-holy gender Comet

-also loved that they gave a major role to a chubby pony, Violet Frost was very cute c:

-ok ngl Allura was cool but she looked NOTHINGGGG like an MLP character. I swear I’ve seen a toy that looked like this from some other preschool show, but I can’t remember which one.

Feels like they’re setting up for a bunch of stuff, which considering MYM is done and over with, I guess they’re gonna continue it in TYT? Hooray… 😞

As much as I love the new auroricorns from the mlp g5 Secrets of Starlight special, I'm a bit disappointed they look like normal unicorns with crystal horns. So I've kinda been designing what I initially expected when I heard the term, "auroricorn".

This one was started last Friday, and I decided to go back and finish it.

These I drew today - it's another G1-style set.

Notes:

I was debating on whether Twitch (the rabbit) should say hand or hoof. (Also, they would probably have an annoying voice.)

Violet Frost (the unicorn)'s mane is slightly off. And Allura (the leopard)'s mane is shorter.

Didn't feel like drawing Thunder's helmet, so there.
