but yes you are correct! this is renji abarai from bleach ! he’s good friends/rivals w the mc ichigo (my baby🥺🥺🥺) and in the “army” he serves in, he’s a lieutenant for his squad ! second highest in command for squad 6 ! as you can see he has plenty tribal tattoos alll over his body, long red hair (that you can do so many styles with 🙈), pretty nice build and stature ( he’s muscular and i wanna say he’s like 6ft ? almost ? maybe a little more ? can’t remember for sure i have to look it up ) but yeah !! the first pic you chose was him in the manga a little later in the story, and the other two are official art so yea, he CANONICALLY looks that good 😩 just know if u get with him you’re dating a fashion icon bc he can dresssss, the headbands he always wears are part of his signature style.

as for personality, he can be stubborn when it comes to what he believes in and what he thinks is right so generally he has a good head on his shoulders and tries his best ! very loyal to his captain and to his friends <3 he also drinks his “respect women juice” everyyyyday so he has manners and respects them. def can be rough around the edges sometimes but not in an edgy or angsty kind of way, if that makes sense??? anyway he also can be silly and be funny sometimes without trying to be 😭😭😂 and gets dragged into ridiculous situations (common in ova’s and some unserious filler) but most of the time he’s kinda serious and fills out his role as lieutenant to keep the squad in check

as someone who also has FF14 and Bleach OCs, I have to ask... tell me all about Kuro!

Ohhh, I'm always happy to ramble about my fictional children~ But a fair warning, I made Kuro back when I was like, 14 or so. There's been changes since then, but you totally can still see most of that teen edginess lol (also this got pretty long, so I'll hide it under read more)

Also as a quick worldbuilding note: the rp setting he's from throws Ichigo and all his buddies away, so basically none of the canon Bleach events happen. Captains etc mostly stay bc we could not be arsed to come up with that many side characters, and it made things easier to set up. If we want one of our ocs to have a specific seat, we usually just toss the canon character that has that seat to make room ^^' Also everything starts kinda same as canon, with Kuro out hunting a hollow and the guy he's shipped with, Sora (my rp partner's main oc), getting caught up in things (and later discovering his shinigami ancestry).

Hair: Black, pretty basic short hair with some of his bangs hanging in the middle of his face (what I like to call "basic anime boy hairstyle") Eyes: Dark grey, almost black Height: 154cm (uhhh 5'1" I think?) Tattoos/Scars: No notable scars. Small black butterfly tattoo on his left shoulder. Piercings: Two basic earrings on both ears (small silver rings)

Family: - Older brother Satomi. Very close, often hanging together if their work schedule allows them to. Satomi absolutely adores Kuro, spoiling his brother whenever possible and in general being the overprotective big bro. - Parents (I don't remember their names help) are both dead. Reasons vary a bit with each plotline but usually it's just "killed under mysterious circumstances". Hirose family was one of the 4 Noble Houses, but since the entire household (except Kuro and Satomi) was wiped out the two brothers have mostly just their family's wealth + some general respect left. - Both are basically adopted by Ukitake (and Kyoraku), who knew their parents and was kind enough to look after two young kids.

Zanpakuto: Name: Tsukiakari Type: Light - Basic katana with light blue handle in sealed form, shikai is twin swords. No bankai yet (bc I could never come up with one lol) - I know I've chosen release command as a teen I can't remember what it was efhufhe, we usually just skip them. - Spirit form is a purple haired, tall ikemen type of guy. Often just called "Tsuki". He's generally a nice big brother type, very helpful and a bit playful, but strongly dislikes when Kuro shows any sort of insecurity and just kinda fucks off to pout.

Bonus fun power stuff! Hirose family has some cool hereditary skill that allows them to interact with zanpakuto spirits more closely than others, leading to most of the family having been teachers in Shin'o Academy. Inner world's are only for their owners and their zanpakuto spirit? Nope, Tsuki and Nesaku (Satomi's zapakuto) can go visit other spirits in their worlds whenever they please. If the owner is present, they can (for a short while) drag the spirit outside (visible to anyone). The other spirit can leave whenever they choose to, and both Tsuki and Nesaku refuse to do it again (they tend to side with spirits rather than owners lol). Both Hirose brothers can also take someone along to either their own inner worlds by touching them while meditating, or enter someones inner world with them - again, the spirit there might kick them out if it's in a really bad mood (and the inner world itself may be dangerous).

This was mostly brought on by us liking the spirits shown in canon a lot, so it felt boring that only their owner could see them haha. So, Kuro and Satomi get to be god's specialest children and do these things (￣▽￣)" But it's also fun to have Tsuki (Nesaku less, as he's mostly mute) as a sort of extra guide/mentor for all the characters (Sora and his bff are very special cases) to figure things out. Also we got to come up with really neat inner worlds! Kuro's is this huge temple that's almost completely submerged: only some high buildings have their roofs/upper floors above water. There's huge full moon 24/7, and you can actually walk on water, but only if Tsuki is in good mood (if he's feeling like ass, he'll make you take a bath haha, so better to stick to the roofs).

What else... uhhhh

Kuro is mostly pretty serious person. He still has some playfulness left, but growing up orphaned made him mature pretty quickly.

He's kind and tries to see nuances rather than follow rules blindly, but prefers to try and keep from breaking rules in the first place (which is directly opposite from the guy he's shipped with, as Sora is very free spirited little hooligan lol).

Very easily embarassed and harbors a very deep inferiority complex ("woow, lieutenant to your own adoptive father? must be easy to have everything handed to you"). Tsuki absolutely loathes this inferiority complex and just flat out refuses to speak, help or sometimes even work if Kuro is spiralling.

Very very affectionate when drunk, will cling to nearest person and most likely fall asleep on them.

Gets pissy when you call him short. Guy who calls him Chibi loves teasing him (he later moves on to tease Satomi, after he figures how to annoy him), and Sora tends to rest his chin on Kuro's head (he's a full head taller than Kuro lol)

Organized. Usually the one that handles most of the paperwork in 13th div, as well as keeps an eye on Ukitake's health (and makes sure he remembers to take his meds).

NOT a morning person. Sleeps like a log (and demands to have a huge bed), takes forever to wake up and gets very grumpy when woken (and usually tries to go back to sleep when you stop watching him).

Not that strong physically, but quick on his feet and good at kido. Using Tsukiakari he mostly relies in quick, weaker attacks (+ blinding enemies with bright lights) that slowly wear the enemy down.

Spends some time in the human world hanging out with Sora and his friends, during which Kuro gets to show how completely oblivious he is to both human and commoner lives ("no butlers? maids? why is the house so small? tf is a tv?")

Most clothes he wears in the human world are picked by Sora (and often a borrowed from him, so oversized)

Both Kuro and Satomi graduate Shin'o Academy rather young (young enough to be called prodigys but not as fast as Hitsu) since both their parents were teachers and started teaching their kids stuff from very young age

I'll end this here since it's already so long aihuiefh. Sowwy anon, there's like years upon years of rp he's seen and like 3 complete restarts to the story when we get stuck (and all of them are currently on hiatus lol) so there's a lot of stuff and most of it is pretty chaotic.

It takes a minute to get a response and in the meanwhile his old man comes back in, right hand sliding his phone down into his pocket. Isshin looks at the three of them with slight suspicion, but finally cracks one of his stupid grins and starts in talking about them like they’re still fucking kids. To him, maybe they are. It softens Ichigo a little and for a minute, he feels guilty.

He considers calling Shiro off. It couldn’t hurt if Ichigo took a couple weeks off to be with the family he’s damn near abandoned. But he already committed and he’s not a liar. Or not in that particular way at least.

As if you’re one to talk

He’s betting it’s still not as much as Shiro is going to get for himself.

They what? He blinks at those words, incredulous. Ichigo is betting they don’t. But he scoffs at that second bit too. She was being nosy, it’s her own fault. But I don’t exchange dick pics, so to be fair, she never saw it coming

It’s quiet for a while and he assumes Shiro must be busy getting everything together. And although Yuzu won the argument about who’s staying, Karin insists she will too, and between both of the little monsters, his old man somehow ends up shut outside of the room to go back to the hotel alone. Ichigo can hear his theatrics all the way down the hall and it squashes any other remorse he might’ve worked up.

He gets grilled lightly about Shiro and Ichigo gives them vague details, since the messy truth won’t really work. He mostly sticks to a description and is a little sad he doesn’t have any dick free photos to show.

He genuinely gets such a kick out of gently tormenting Ichigo. Ichigo’s just a lot of fun. He’s smirking pretty much the entire time he waits on replies while they talk. And it is very nice to talk after not hearing from him in three days, especially since he didn’t even know for sure Ichigo was alive.

Tough shit if Ichigo’s still letting his sisters read his phone. He sends the kiss emoji back to Ichigo’s middle finger like a toddler, but is kind of amused and a little giddy about the whole stupid thing, which is honestly just so ridiculous and out of character for him. But fuck, he’s a sucker for Ichigo.

The response to what he said about needing Ichigo makes him blink, head tipping a little while a sly smirk slides across his expression. That sounds like a challenge and he punches that hospital name into his phone GPS to see how long the drive will be.

Except the mention of meeting Ichigo’s sisters freezes him up a little. They talked about meeting Ichigo’s friends and his family, and he knows Ichigo cares deeply for both of those groups. It feels like a big deal. He doesn’t know what to think. He’s not really the nervous type, but it’s a little nerve racking. He plays bravado though. Of course they do, i’m a super interesting person. they’ll probably like me more than yoou.

Have you ever had an odd moment when rereading/rewatching a story you love and get that feel like you're reading fanfiction?

I'm currently reading Bleach for the first time since watching the anime and, the missing bits from the manga kinda hit different.

It's like the world feels a little more lived in with the way characters emote and goof around. A lot of fun characterization gets lost.

Like Rukia, she wasn't my favorite character, in the anime, she felt like a motherly/older sister type of figure. Sure she does have her silly doodles and her love of bunnies but I got the vibe of action girl with like 2 quirks.

The manga on the other hand, an old man almost scams her, a celebrity absolutely scammed her and she sold out Ichigo. And she's "researching" human culture via horror manga lol.

It just let me see a bit of why the entire bleach fan base is overly protective of her. (It's still a bit scary, but what can you do?) Knowing her backstory already, it's like she's been stressed out over dramatic changing in her life and Rukia finally had a chance to slow down and relax.

And that's something that fanfiction let's readers indulge in. Seeing characters you enjoy goof around and take a breather.

So it's kinda nice to see. 😊

I'm not quite sure I agree with the comparison to fanfic, but it is certainly true that the Bleach anime did a real hack-job on Rukia's character.

I know that it's easy to dismiss the "Studio Pierrot screwed up Bleach!" as a shipper's complaint, because Studio Pierrot absolutely screwed up the minor bits of romance that Bleach actually contains, but the fact is, they screwed up a lot of other stuff, too.

It's really weird, because so much of the time, it's just literally for no reason? @star-snail started to do a really nice analysis of this once, and got exhausted one episode in (I encourage you to read their thoughts on it this sideblog). One example that really sticks with me is that they made Rukia show up earlier in the episode, while Ichigo is interacting with a ghost, whom Rukia ignores. You might say "who cares?" but then that ghost gets eaten by Fishbone, and the end effect is that one of the first things we learn about Rukia is that she's bad at her job.

Another example is this asshat, wholly an invention of the anime:

T(thanks Bleach Wiki for the pic, since I refuse to waste energy on this guy). If you don't remember him, good for you. He shows up in the Memories in the Rain storyline to "help" Rukia and Ichigo fight Grand Fisher. Here is a short list of what's wrong with him:

In the manga, Kubo really slow-plays revealing anything about Soul Society or other Soul Reapers. Take a look at these shots-- the first Rukia thinking about Kaien's death while Ichigo fights Grand Fisher, the second is the first glimpse we see of Byakuya and Renji being sent to apprehend Rukia. Look at the composition, the care Kubo took to make these scenes mysterious and intriguing. Now look up at that guy.

He claims that he was two years ahead of Rukia in school and that she was known as a Kuchiki princess? a) of all, this makes no damn sense because Rukia left school when she was adopted. b) she was only there for 2 months and she was a freshman? Why would this guy even know her? More importantly, though, in the manga, we don't find out that Rukia is Soul Society royalty until Byakuya and Renji show up. Instead, the anime blows all that build-up and dramatic tension by just having this dude... blurt it out? Also, he implies that maybe she was spoiled and stuck up at school? We know nothing about Rukia's life in Soul Society at this point, so as the viewer, we just take this information for granted and... for what? What were they going for?

Memories in the Rain is a story about Rukia allowing Ichigo to fight for his honor, despite Kon begging her to intervene. It's a mysterious fight that is an allusion to her trauma at killing Kaien, and it's a really important character moment, telling you what kind of person Rukia is. Having some other guy there disrupts all of that.

He's gross and makes a bunch of jokes about Rukia and Ichigo being together. Again, for what??

Another bit in the anime that gets re-arranged for absolutely no reason is Prelude for the Straying Stars, the flashback where Renji, Momo, Izuru and Shuuhei are attacked by Hollows during a school training exercise. In the manga, Renji explicitly says they've been at school for 2 months. In the anime, they change it to 6 month. In the manga, the training exercise is to go perform konsou in the Living World, in the anime, it's this elaborate thing with dummy Hollows. In the manga, one person is killed and two are injured, in the anime, there's a slow pan over a group of student corpses, dripping blood. Mostly, I am just mad about this because I tried to write a fanfic about it once and I couldn't figure out any of the details and it made me really mad and I never finished the fanfic. Also, they skipped this for some reason, how dare they.

On the other hand, the anime does include a lot of little character scenes that are great! Ikkaku training Renji! That Academy flashback episode and A Star and Stray Dog, Rukia and Renji's origin story, both contain a lot of extra scenes, which are really nice!

People complain about the anime filler arcs, too, but to be honest, the vast majority of the Karakura kids being pals is from filler. If you have ever enjoyed a story where Rukia is hanging out with Ichigo in Karakuratown after getting her power back, it's not canon!

To be honest, I really like the aspect of Bleach that you can really just pick and choose what you want to be canon. Filler arcs, the movies, the light novels. People on the internet will try to argue that you must accept such-and-such, Kubo approved it, or whatever, but you don't have to accept shit. Zabimaru will only ever be a nue to me, no matter how many people tell me that there was an omake where Kurotsuchi offered to change their gender. I don't care.

Anyway, I'm glad you read the manga, Anon, because, personally, I think it is straight-up better. Rukia is a goddamn dirtbag delight.

I wanna hear you rant about the Gin vs Hitsugaya anime fight bc I love seeing your pov and you clearly write better than whoever extended that scene :) pretty please

          out of character.  DON’T ENABLE ME SO MUCH !!  No but I cackled when I first saw this ask because oh my god, clearly you saw a taste of my annoyance about the anime adaptation -- no, adaptation implies it was accurate, I’ll say the anime’s take was “inspired by” the manga’s quick run-in. I’ll start by saying this moment is supposed to be a bit important considering, via the audience’s point of view, THIS IS THE FIRST WE SEE OF TWO CAPTAIN-RANKED SHINIGAMI CLASHING. The only other captain-involved fight we’ve seen thus far in the manga is Kenpachi  ( who is an outlier and should not be counted... no, I joke... but, still, Ichigo was not an equal to him, his sword was sliced through like butter. )  The whole reason I enjoyed this encounter between Toshiro and Gin was simply this; it wasn’t some fancy multi-chaptered fight. IN THE MANGA, THERE ARE ONLY TWO BLOWS MADE. One, by Toshiro, to begin the fight. The second, to end it, is Gin’s strike.

          I want you to know that I’ve rewatched this specifically to answer this ask, and only due to this, as I wouldn’t have ever sought it out otherwise. HONOR MY SACRIFICE.

          In the anime, they monologue at each other, and it’s mostly a combination of Toshiro making three separate death threats  ( he starts this off by saying “I’ll kill you before Hinamori arrives” and then goes on rewording it each time, and then also repeats the death-threat he gave Gin prior to this conflict about “I’ll kill you if Hinamori bleeds” )  and then also Gin and Izuru talking about how truly powerful and amazing Toshiro is -- no, this isn’t me being bitter or petty, I literally shit you not, Gin has a line that is legit “AS EXPECTED FROM HITSUGAYA TOSHIRO, CAPTAIN OF THE TENTH DIVISION, A CHILD PRODIGY OF TH' SORT THAT ONLY COMES ALONG ONLY ONCE EVERY FEW CENTURIES. HOW VEEEERY DANGEROUS. YOU’RE SERIOUS, AIN’T YA?” like don’t get me wrong, love a good sarcastic little shit comment like that, but the amount of times the anime pumps Toshiro up like he’s their shinest new cash cow ( and he is, at this point, it is not even 50 episodes into the series and they’ve realized everyone likes him and he’s jumped to high ranks in popularity polls... earning him filler spotlights, and eventually his very own non-canon movie )  so everything coming out of Gin’s mouth feels like more bullshit than necessary. Izuru’s already literally monologued, internally, how powerful and amazing Toshiro is anyways. Why this ?

          Not to mention that, prior to saying that long-winded shit, Gin’s haori changed length three times  ( and once it was longer than his entire body by several feet, and no not in a ‘to show motion’ way )  and most importantly Shinso was drawn, consistently, at katana-length for the duration of their little spat where the following, too, happened: Gin frog-leaps after doing a backflip, Toshiro gives Gin two (2) haircuts, Gin ruins some floorboards and gives Toshiro at least one splinter in his arm, Toshiro whilst wearing socks lands on Shinso’s blunt edge and pushes the sword down with his footsie because that’s how that works, there’s another backflip somewhere in there that Gin doesn’t need to be doing, twirl, twirl, and ballet, Gin’s face elongates until his chin is bigger than his face, Gin spends ten+ seconds purely dodging very close strikes to his face as Toshiro is the only one making breathy growly and ‘tsuuaaah’ sounds, there is a brief moment of no gravity as Toshiro keeps hacking at Gin midair and Gin blocks it over and over again but they still stay in the air but they’re not standing or jumping or using reiatsu they’re just like, momentum-locked I don’t fucking know, Gin frowny faces as he blocks because like somehow this kid who doesn’t even have more reiatsu than him, whose arm strength should not be an issue, is like. making him nervous?? as sword sparks fly. if you know me at all you know I hate when they fuckin’ firework sparkler-ify swords clashing.

          Anyways, all of this happens whilst Shinso is the wrong length and Gin’s hair is getting purpler by the second and this entire thing is somehow a big jack-off to Toshiro’s immense strength even though he’s screaming and wailing at Gin like a child and Gin’s just a vessel at this point to Enhance Toshiro, which, fine, okay, but at least be more accurate with it god damn. ANYWAYS,

          THEY JOUST. They literally run at each other, swords centered, and run past / to the side of one another. Jousting. “Cause that’s how that works. No slashes, no cutting motion. Just swords centered, because the animators were like “no worries guys I know swordfighting basics that’s a legit pose” yeah it is WHEN STATIONARY. Not rUNNING IT DOWN.

          And then Gin’s sleeve is cut, somehow, from the Jousting, because wow Toshiro wow wow wowowowow, and then Toshiro comes back and starts wailing at Gin again and Gin blocks it, again, and it’s all very annoyingly repetitive, and Gin’s frowning and sparks are flying and Gin’s using Shinso, the katana-length wakizashi I guess, with two hands because like I said, the animators knew basics and basics are “katana are used two-handed” like. Okay, you’re not wrong, but I cannot stress this enough: SHINSO IS NOT A KATANA. It’s shorter and meant to be used single-handed!!!! sTop!!! So then Gin rips off the tattered part of his sleeve and throws it at Toshiro, who swipes it away from his face using his Zanpakuto because that’s intelligent and a piece of cloth was definitely threatening enough to use your sword to bat it away  ( btw, Hitsugaya wasn’t holding his sword with two hands at this precise moment, so he could have just... used his other hand )  and then Gin goes in for the classic “stabby stabby rapidly at you while the animation gets a little breather because we repeat this cycle a few times with flashy bgs and phew money made” ... WE ARE FOUR MINUTES AND THIRTY SECONDS INTO THIS FIGHT BY THE WAY. Gin does this for seventeen (17) agonizing seconds straight. Yes, I counted. That was sixteen and a half too many seconds for me, personally.

          Toshiro somehow lassos Shinso whilst Gin is stabby stabby-ing with Hyourinmaru’s chain component. I say component like it’s somehow some type of beauty guru’s lipstick holder, but really am I that wrong ? When else has he ever used this feature ? Anyways, he lassos Shinso because yeehaw I guess, god I’m falling apart at this point can y’all tell????? I need a drink.

          and so, because now Toshiro has Gin’s sword somehow trapped with chain even though it’s just looped around it, he backflips over Gin for a cool trickshot, no blow issued, just vibes, and Gin uses a big brain moment to tug Shinso and the chains slide off. okay now what. We’re past five minutes into this fight, nonstop.

          SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD TIME FOR GIN TO PAUSE AND APPRECIATE TOSHIRO AGAIN! “I see, I shouldn’t have underestimated you, HItsugaya Toshiro” I’m starting to have a feeling Gin’s VA was told to just wing these lines because the amount of times he fills silences / Gin’s mouth movements with Toshiro’s long-ass name is astounding, he’s definitely drawing blanks here but he sure as hell knows one thing: that damn ice-boy’s name. He continues by saying “I suppose I’ll end up regretting it afterwards.”

          Toshiro says that’s not enough, and it’s really dramatic and cool. His eyes even glow all icy and blue and pretty, like his flowy reiatsu. Aesthetic points were gifted entirely to Toshiro’s animations in this scene. Gin was finished in MS Paint and each new scene they had to draw Shinso from memory and try to remember what hue of purple his hair was at gunpoint. Toshiro lets off a big wave of reiatsu and then it vanishes, and he jumps up reaaaally high. like this guy’s flying. his eyes arent glowing anymore that’s sad. Bring Back Glowing Eyes For Strong Shinigami 2k21.

          Toshiro releases his Shikai, and it’s badass, the sky darkens, Izuru looks distinctly more worried than usual, and Gin’s frowning with his teeth out like Bugs Bunny’s having a bad day, all is right in the world. Toshiro and his released Shikai have a nice moment for the Pics, and a big epic freeze frame blur moment happens with it all coiled and swirling around him. Wrow!  ( click the ‘wrow’ it’s a link to my exact reaction )  Izuru narrates for the third time about how powerful Toshiro is, his reiatsu, his Zanpakuto being a deity who is only unlocked every few centuries. The strongest ice-type sword. Pardon the pun, but that’s... you could say, so cool.

          It can even control the weather. So hey, next time it’s rainy, cold, icy, or snowing and you’re unhappy, it’s time to direct a big fuck you at Toshiro.

          Gin dodges the first dragon, and blocks the second with Shinso because blocking water and ice with a sword makes sense right? This actually takes a solid amount of seconds as Gin cuts through the entire length of this ice dragon noodle. Things dissipate, and pause, too, to really drag this out. Surprisingly, this reveals that Gin’s made a boo-boo, his left arm’s frozen, which doesn’t even mean anything because Gin is right-handed, and Toshiro teleports himself behind Gin in true fighty fashion.

          We have arrived at seven minutes and just under twenty seconds of this fight, and Gin turns, DOES THE UNTHINKABLE, gasp! He opens his eyes. His red, dull, evil, gray-eyebrowed with purple hair eyes, and shoots Shinso through its hideout spot behind his haori. This nearly takes off Toshiro’s eye and upwards of his head, but the little guy dives down fast. The rest happens in slow motion, supposedly, because it takes an eternity and people talk entire full sentences in its span of time.

          Gin asks Toshiro if he’s sure he’d like to dodge that  ( it’s a little late for that ) and says that Momo’ll die if he does. SHINSO SCRAPING ALONG AGAINST HYOURINMARU STRANGELY MAKES NOT A SINGLE SOUND. Mute. Even though before they had no problem animating and adding sounds to them smacking blades earlier. There are soundless sparks though, so there’s that. Yay. Can you tell how exhausted this’s made me? I need a nap.

          Shinso is already more than halfway towards Momo, still unconscious, she most definitely has a serious concussion via Toshiro backhanding her midair consider she’s been unconscious for longer than ten minutes. Toshiro has time to get up off the floor where he dropped to dodge, realize with a shocked gasp, turn, shout her name, and watch as Rangiku arrives in a random glow of gold which never happens ever again and blocks the attack with Haineko. Haineko almost cracks on the impact, and continues growing in damage as Rangiku holds Shinso there, implying that she’s stopped it from reaching one-hundred sword’s lengths to pierce Momo. Yes I’m including that implication / note in here because we love to see Rangiku succeeding in life and being Not-Helpless, all while potentially damaging Haineko severely if it wasn’t able to hold him off. Yikes, Gin!

          Rangiku threatens to join the fight if he doesn’t withdraw his sword. Gin smiles, withdraws it, and then Shunpos away.

          Whatta mess. Oh, and the anime fight was pretty fucked up, too.

So I was working on a pic for day 16 but I was working on it after work so didn’t have much time before 5pm to get pics.(I need a scanner one of these days) At some point I just looked at how dark it was getting in the room I take pics in & gave up. I also don’t know what to do for day 17, I want to guess something like Future Foundation or characters being in the simulation from DR2 due to the name of the project but I dunno. I might do something but the theme future is coming up so I’ll likely save it for that.

I’m rambling & kind of feel bad for my posts for day 15 So day 16 was alternate universes & I really enjoy AUs though a large amount of the ones I like are crossover plots. Most of the pics aren’t crossover based & are largely just based on past RPs. I made a bunch of pics & didn’t want to spam with posts for each so I tried to put as many as I could together.

The first three pics are based on a thing I call Monster Community AU thing, pretty much characters are secretly some kind of creature(witch, alien, merpeople, harpies, etc) living among humans but sometimes do things in secret areas other monsters hanging out at like a community of monsters.

The two scenes here are from different mermaid RPs, both from my Monster Community AU stuff again. Both pics involve RP plots that were DR1 happened, DR2 characters were trying to survive the aftermath of the world going mad(pretty much surviving in the destroyed city until finding somewhere or something) & some other stuff I’m going to leave out due to rambling. Just know this is technically a simplified version of the series post-DR1(if that makes sense? probably not) that was used because I keep doing shit in RPs.

The one to the left is from a plot were the survivors find a cave they end up staying the night in only to decided to check further & find themselves in a place other monsters are living in. For some reason Makoto is a grey eyeless big mouth monster, I think I was obsessed with a design I saw on Tumblr but can't find anymore. Byakuya is an octopus merperson because for some reason I imagine he'd be on if he was a merman. The second one is vampire Byakuya is living in a mansion his family had by the sea on a cliff area that leads to the beach. He ends up learning Makoto is a merperson(whose parents tried to keep him from learning about other creatures for safety) & expecting their kids. Makoto is a species of merperson that make nests in the sand when they have kids so Makoto had to stay in the water until the babies could swim by themselves. Byakuya will probably have some special pools setup in the house for the twins since they'll be to young to go into human form after the being old enough to swim.(It'll only be a couple months) At the moment Makoto is in a cave inside the cliff that leads to the ocean, some how the inside of Byakuya's mansion has a secret stairway leading down here. Makoto can't leave the water because his nest is here & his merperson instincts don't want him to leave until the babies hatch & are old enough to swim. Due to Makoto's parents hiding his & Komaru's mermaid/creature side Makoto didn't think much on the fact he was a merperson until he got pregnant & his instincts demanded he make a nest... That's also how Byakuya learned his family had a secret area of the mansion & proceeded lug a futon mattress/blanket down there to be close to Makoto. I didn't think much about it at the time but I guess something lead to his parents getting protective & scared if someone knew they were merpeople, then again there's a Japanese myth about eating mermaids/some kind of fish people would cause immortality. I almost forgot this but Byakuya hung up a net & decorations so the babies when down in the cave don’t swim into the sea.

This one is based on an RP were Byakuya is a werewolf while Makoto is a harpy. DR1 happened, Byakuya & Makoto had a relationship but went their separate ways to find their families(see if there’s hope of them still being out there) while working on getting their lives together.(Since with the despair event they likely need to recover/figure out what to do now)

Byakuya at some point is house sitting for Hinata & Komaeda(originally it was his vacation cabin in the woods but something changed forget why) when he ends up having to help a harpy who lost their nest because a tree landed on it. He took the harpy in because they didn’t have anywhere to go & the crash broke one of their wings. He was to tired to think much about figuring out who the harpy was after patching them up because he was tired.

Byakuya ends up learning in the morning that the harpy is Makoto & pregnant. Byakuya reassured Makoto knew he was safe now & he(Byakuya) isn’t going anywhere. Byakuya later learned Makoto found his family but someone attacked & ditched him in the woods while injuring his eye. After that Byakuya helps Makoto recover & they eventually move to his vacation house when Hinata & Komaeda come home. Byakuya has a nursery for their eventual kids & Makoto ended up staying in the nursery sitting on the egg Ichigo was in when he had the twins. Len kept barking when he found her until she finally hatched.

Here’s Makoto perched on Hinata’s couch singing a bird tune as Byakuya listens, sometimes the blond will sometimes whistle which makes Makoto squeal in delight because it sounds like Byakuya trying to mimic a bird. Makoto is meant to be a House Martin harpy because the bird is cute & has fuzzy feet. Makoto’s hood/cape is just his hoodie tied to his neck, he can slightly still see out of the injured eye but without something to protect it things seem to bright during the day through that eye.

This was the pic that lead to not posting anything the other day, as you can tell I made more pics right after managing to finish it. This pic is once again based on an RP(well two of them), for some reason I really liked doing this plot. The AU is pretty much everyone lives in a world of animal centaurs(in Kazuichi's case he's a shark merperson) & for some reason this is before modern technology exists. Everyone lives in caves that have been carved into homes with some having multiple rooms, they have furniture made from leftover stone, wood, some other stuff & clothes made out of normal animal skin like they're in Brother Bear or something. Given the state the world is currently at they seal off the entrances to their caves in the winter after making sure to have enough food to last it.(There's some that have the ability to hibernate luckily) I have absolutely no idea why I enjoy this so much. So Byakuya is a wolf(lol blond wolf fur) & Makoto is a pygmy goat(I made him a little bigger because again awkward size) but for the first RP I kept switching the species(from pudu deer to pygmy goat) because I was obsessed with those animals at the time. It ended with S having Gundam call Makoto a goat/deer hybrid so he's a deer goat in the first RP.(I didn't switch it often but kept talking about confusion) In the second RP Makoto stayed a pygmy goat for the entire RP. Len is a wolf centaur & Ichigo is a goat centaur, Byakuya & Makoto had other kids but they're preexisting characters(Komaru & Chiaki for some reason) & I'm mostly focusing on these characters.(I don't actually know what I was getting at) The twins are a couple days old, since Ichigo is a pygmy goat she's already active. Byakuya is laying down so she won't get hurt, Ichigo & Makoto's goat side makes them enjoy climbing things so the little baby is climbing on daddy. Len's eyes & ears haven't opened just yet so he's kept safe in a portable cradle thing since he's to small to play with his little sister right now.(Makoto will retuck him in in a moment) Makoto has a poncho thing because he has trouble keeping warm which luckily his kids didn't inherit. Also Byakuya is pretty strong so he can take his daughter & his mate trying to climb on him especially when Makoto is pregnant. It's ok & doesn't bother him in fact it's kind of cute especially since sometimes after that Ichigo will do a little jitter dance that baby goats some times do.(He'd also whether they climb on him or a stool thing than try to climb the side of their home or something bigger due to worrying about the two hurting themselves.

Byakuya & Makoto have slightly long hair because it's hard for them to cut their hair with a dagger Byakuya worked on for hair cutting. Byakuya is hoping to eventually trade something for a mirror some traveling trader visits, maybe see if someone in the pack can help with cutting hair not that it matter much.

Meet Mikan Kurosaki! The daughter and youngest child of Ichigo Kurosaki and Orihime Inoue, and younger sister to Kazui Kurosaki.

The shade of her orange hair is exactly like her daddy's while having her mommy's eyes and pale skin.

Orihime passes her flower hair pins (cherished gifts from IchiHime kids' uncle Sora Inoue, may his handsome soul rest in peace😔🌹) down to her young daughter and the red heart hair clip on her right sporting braid from Charat Dress Up is supposed to make up for her hair tie that has a 🍓 in between two 🍊 halves.

She was born 8 years after her big brother.

Her birthday is June 12......which is 5 days before the anniversary of grandmother Masaki Kurosaki's death. (May her beautiful soul rest in peace😔🌹.)

As a little girl, Mikan is super fond of Kon and loves to carry him.....🦁🤗😅

Her name in the kanji is 美侃, which means "beautiful love of peace". Like how Ichigo's name is "one guardian" in the kanji 一護. Plus both the father and daughter have names that can also be translated into names of fruit.

hello. pictured below are eight different images from a horrific collection of pictures i’ve acquired over time that remind me of world of the living era renji specifically (with explanation!)

to start, i thought about arranging them all at the very bottom and explaining myself beforehand, but that’s boring. the pictures should be experienced first before trying to understand my thought process. to make things easy, i’ll explain it row by row.

first things first, i consider a good handful of characters in bleach to be disaster bisexuals. some examples: all the karakura kids, hisagi; i don’t consider renji to be as disasterous, but he’s definitely up there. more straight-leaning too. he thinks ichigo calling him an ex-bisexual after marrying rukia is the funniest thing ever BTW. and speaking of ichigo, him and renji fit the second pic to a T. just bros hanging out playing video games in karakura town, nothing to see here XD

second row is party renji. this is where he’s most bisexual. he takes pics like that tom hardy one, sends it out via soul communicator to a groupchat with all the lieutenants, then rukia, then ichigo. they’re all reminded by one picture alone that renji is kind of gay. the mads pic is the one he shares the morning after. (byakuya gets his hands on one of these photos at some point. renji is horrified to go back to seireitei)

third row is just stuff that reminds me of renruki. i’m so obsessed with the idea of tiny little rukia just slutting renji out. it’s so funny. she’s so small, like a bunny, and he’s massive with full-body tattoos and a terrifying hairline that pulls back into thick red hair. but she sluts him out. side note: he’s super into it.

last one is sort of just a body headcanon? i guess. i like to think renji is beefy. i feel like he kind of has to be to swing zabimaru around the way he does, and for how long he’s been doing it. i don’t know how tall he is and icba to look it up, but he’s just a big ol boy. towers over everyone. ichika and kazui like to swing back and forth on his arms like monkey bars. they’re totally weightless. if he’s too busy for them to mess around, he just T-poses and watches them try and fail to jump up and latch onto his biceps. lets say he’s 6ft5 (don’t look at me like that. let me have my moment)

Then the phone pings. They both pause, her drool still sinking through his pants leg. Ichigo: This is the most boring math lesson in the history of math lessons A brief pause. Ichigo: Send me a dick pic Grimmjow blinks slowly. Ichigo: DONT SEND ME A DICK PIC He pecks the tiny keys slowly, a smile growing on his face. "I don't have any sugar left, all my apologies!" God he was heavy. He was... She wished she could let Kurosaki-kun handle him. But Kurosaki-kun's face. Her throat was tight, watching that expression in usually warm brown eyes. She cleared it, put on another smile, made sure her fairies were still in position between them and the door, the neighbor she ought to protect, just in case she was wrong. "Are you okay, Grimmjow-san?" "... Why were you letting that old hag make you feel like that," he said in a quiet, oddly intense tone. When she craned her neck he was staring right at her and he didn't look vague and approachable and soft; he looked sharp, jaw-clenchingly furious. "The fuck did she even say?" Oh. Um. "It doesn't matter," Kurosaki-kun said, uncomfortable, sword tip slowly drifting back to the floor. "She's just an annoying neighbor. It's not worth--" "She thinks I'm a slut." Oh man, oh man she hoped she didn't need to explain it to him; her moment of frankness had gone already and she knew she would stammer herself into an early grave if he really didn't get it. "... favorite thing about them

there’s a lot so i’ll keep it short. he’s a very fun and goofy character, and i think him goofing around and making me laugh is probably what drew me to him. his mysteriousness and duality makes him an endlessly interesting character. aside from those things, his very apparent mental illness and the way he makes mistakes and deals with his failures is very relatable to me personally.

god, where to start… i mean there’s a lot of things, counting his sins is going to need far more than two hands. but ummm the transformation he did to yoruichi in TBTP sucked and is probably the thing that affected me most. it sucked so much that, because i’m so attached to kisuke and yoruichi as characters, it actually worsened my depression for like a month after it happened in the manga. i’m going to be 6 feet under and i’ll still be mad about it :)))))

he’s not a harmless grandpa, he’s caused death and untold suffering of many innocent people. he’s described as a monster in canon. he’s as villainous as the villains like aizen and yhwach in bleach, really the only difference being that the villains usually challenge the status quo while yamamoto defends it.

It’s been years since Death Note ended, yet we find ourselves drawn to his gripping series like moths to a flame. Part of that has to do with the series’ nail-biting mysteries and iconic characters. But the other part of that admittedly stems from all of the hilarious Death Note memes out there.

Perhaps no other character from the series inspired as many mems as L Lawliet – the eccentric sleuth that nearly exposed Kira to the world at large. 10 Take This L

When someone goofs hard, we often tell them to ‘hold an L’ – aka accept your loss and try not to screw up so badly in the future. Were you planning on asking your crush to Prom, but botched your proposal. Hold this L. Did a movie theater employee tell you to enjoy your film, and you mindlessly “thanks, you too?” Hold this L!

This meme adds a new connotation to the phrase – hearkening back to the first Legend of Zelda game on the Famicon. Now, the expressions ‘hold this L’ or ‘take this L’ are akin to phrases like ‘Godspeed Spider-Man’ or ‘May the Force be with you.’ If a friend is about to pull an all-nighter to try and snag a promotion, you can say ‘take this L’ as a way of wishing them well. Though your mate will probably just think you’re making fun of them, come to think of it.

9 Laziness

Ain’t technology grand? A few decades ago, the ability to video chat with someone on the other side of the globe was the stuff of Sci-Fi novels. Now, most of us have pocket-sized supercomputers that do almost anything and everything. Surely, the advent of such sophisticated technology would usher in a new Golden Age for mankind!

Well, as this meme highlights, it would seem that smartphones have made us lazier – not smarter. This scene comes from one of the earlier chapters in Death Note – wherein L infiltrates Light’s new college to try and catch him red-handed. Out of context, however, it just looks like L and Light are phone-droning to the nth degree.

8 Creepy Cute

There’s no shortage of Death Note fans that ardently believed L was hot as Hell. We remember it like yesterday – witnessing thousands of fangirls and fanboys posting pics of themselves with L body pillows on social media.

We won’t deny that, in his own way, L is a rather charming fellow. However, as this meme suggests, L is creepy cute – like a bat or a pet snake. Our favorite aspect of Lawliet’s character is how little he cares about other peoples’ opinions – he’ll look as disheveled and unhinged as he wants, consequences be damned!

7 Sitting Strangely

L’s signature sitting pose is another example of how little he cares about what others think of him. Our man looks like an owl waiting to catch a field rat for lunch – which isn’ t too far from wrong, come to think of it.

Netflix’s live-action adaptation of the series sort of disregarded its source material at every corner, but Lakeith Stanfield’s depiction of L at least struck this pose a few times. Oh, we just thought of another diss; L looks he’s squatting over a toilet, ready to drop a tactical nuke!

6 Challenge Accepted

Arthur memes are honestly some of the best out there- pure facts! No matter the subject and regardless of timing, these memes seem to work every time. To rest our case, we present this meme that calls back to the very beginning of Deat Note – when L challenged Light on live TV!

As fans of the series know all too well, L’s challenge was merely a part of an elaborate plan – one that Light fell for hook, line, and sinker. Just the thought of Light getting triggered enough to bawl his fist a character from a children’s show is golden!

5 Light Is Kira

Are you familiar with the Cassandra Metaphor, by any chance? It’s essentially a moment wherein someone tries to warn others of an impending threat, only to be met with skepticism and ire. But only later on, when it’s far too late, are the futurist’s words proven true.

That predicament, in a nutshell, epitomizes L’s struggle throughout the entirety of Death Note. Since the beginning of the series, L heavily suspected that Light was Kira. But everyone else swore up and down that the wunderkind couldn’t have been the mass murderer. Even L started second-guessing himself – right before Light put his master plan into action.

4 L’s Always Right

Off course, things would have gone much more smoothly if everyone adhered to these two simple tenets. Think about it like this; Light more or less had free reign since the only person who consistently challenged him was L. Everyone else, including the task force officers hunting Kira, essentially took his word at face value.

L, in stark contrast, constantly found himself wrestling with the police officers that were supposed to be under his command. Were L able to conduct the operation without any obstructions, we think there’s a high chance he would’ve caught Light/Kira very early on. But, then again, the series would’ve been over in about 5 chapters tops.

3 That Was Easy

Though L never managed to take down Light directly, his work paved the way for his successors – Near and Mello. By the time Lawliet, unfortunately, passed away, everyone learned to stop questioning the smartest guy in the room.

As a result, Near had a much easier time exposing Light than L did. Granted, the young boy had to put his life on the line – after Mello outright sacrificed himself – but he managed to capture Light in a matter of chapters.

2 L Didn’t Die

There are a few pervasive theories out there that suggest L’s survival at the end of the series. Some like to think that Lawliet, migrated to the world of My Hero Academia – taking on the role of Shota Aizawa.

Others believe that L became Ulquiorra Cifer from Bleach – as this meme points out. While we think that L becoming such an OP character is a cool thought, we also detest the notion of him becoming a villain – as well as getting rekt by Ichigo in the long run.

Hah! Great I'm not bringing you clothes to change into after all. Of course he is, but he does like the idea of Ichigo's ass just being out there for his enjoyment.

It must sound like such a dumb question but he's completely serious. He pulls out a second outfit, because his own clothes are blood spattered and messy. It's nice being the same size as his boyfriend, because he can just borrow his clothes whenever he wants.

He leaves Ichigo's shit hole apartment and wonders, not at all for the first time, when is too early to tell Ichigo to move in with him. With the bag swung over one shoulder, he pays a little extra attention to his surroundings while he's walking to his car, checking his phone again once he's got it unlocked and he's pretty sure there are no cops or other suspicious people around.

He scoffs. You read me, I said they love me. Everyone loves me. Sometimes it just so happens that they'd love to kill me

He tosses the bag into the passenger seat, then arches a brow at the photo request. He's never actually taken a selfie that wasn't stupid and/or a dick pic. He makes an effort though, straightening beside his car and flattening out his shirt a little first, because he knows this isn't just a random request. This is absolutely related to Ichigo's family. He sends it, then sends a question mark to make sure it makes the cut.

He genuinely gets such a kick out of gently tormenting Ichigo. Ichigo’s just a lot of fun. He’s smirking pretty much the entire time he waits on replies while they talk. And it is very nice to talk after not hearing from him in three days, especially since he didn’t even know for sure Ichigo was alive.

Tough shit if Ichigo’s still letting his sisters read his phone. He sends the kiss emoji back to Ichigo’s middle finger like a toddler, but is kind of amused and a little giddy about the whole stupid thing, which is honestly just so ridiculous and out of character for him. But fuck, he’s a sucker for Ichigo.

The response to what he said about needing Ichigo makes him blink, head tipping a little while a sly smirk slides across his expression. That sounds like a challenge and he punches that hospital name into his phone GPS to see how long the drive will be.

Except the mention of meeting Ichigo’s sisters freezes him up a little. They talked about meeting Ichigo’s friends and his family, and he knows Ichigo cares deeply for both of those groups. It feels like a big deal. He doesn’t know what to think. He’s not really the nervous type, but it’s a little nerve racking. He plays bravado though. Of course they do, i’m a super interesting person. they’ll probably like me more than yoou.
