#sebek trying SO hard to get baul to like him though ����

I do intent to actually write the rest of the Lilia dream with Dusk as a story, like how I did the other sections, but idk when (anywhere from tomorrow to months on, idk when my brain says it’s fun enough). It’s not that much left and honestly not too exciting, so I just wanted to give a summary for anyone wanting it.

Book 7 Spoilers. Stuff out on EN and edited. - Spoilers for rest of Lilia’s dream in Dusk’s au.

From where we left off, Lilia just got injured and Dusk saw. And I honestly can’t see Lilia keeping Dusk there now that there’s evidence of real danger. He only took Dusk because he though there wasn’t much of an actual threat (he was cocky), and Dusk would have broken if apart from him for too long.

But now things have changed and he had reality slapped into him. So he basically tells Baul to send Dusk with some troops back to the castle in Dragonopolis (I’m pretty sure that was the name. It funny.), and says there’s no longer a viable path to keeping Dusk there. Eventually Baul agrees and tears Dust off him crying and screaming (trauma!) and send him away.

Then there’s a skip for all the things that don’t change from the main game and we come back to when Lilia brings the egg to the castle. There he feels Maleanor’s magic disappear and he’s kind of in shock. Then Dusk runs up and hugs them. He’s not crying or saying a word, but standing there and shaking. Between both things and holding the egg, Lilia breaks down and hugs them both.

Malleus is taken away and Lilia is kicked out with Dusk. That makes Silver and Sebek panicked and confused as well as trying to protect Lilia, but it doesn’t work and Lilia gets swallowed by the darkness.

Then Silver and Sebek see the light of the ring and see Lilia called in when Malleus first starts throwing fits, around a month or two after this (Deviation from canon). Lilia immediately hears the crying and rushes in, using his love and magic which hatches Malleus, and he’s over the moon.

Then suddenly Dusk starts to form into the hug out of no where and Silver and Sebek realize Lilia’s dream is about wanting all of his sons together as one family.

Then Malleus pops up and is pissed he was never told he was hatched by Lilia, and the dream gets hazy and Dusk fades in and out long with baby Malleus.

Eventually Lilia wakes up and challenges Malleus to catch him like in game and Silver and Sebek escape to awake others, like in canon.

I guess it wasn’t that short, huh? But I thought the idea was fun and didn’t actually expect to write the whole thing when I started, just wanted to show Dusk being there, but then I did.

And Dusk made the story so hard to work around! How dare he?!

But I’m pretty proud of myself for finishing a plot line of adding a kid into a story. (Ignore the cop out of just writing Dusk out for a chunk of the story. It’s genuinely what I think Lilia would do, I promise. ;-; )

i lied. so maybe i am a sebek fan like that,,,,

just thinking of sebek bringing you home for the holidays and preparing to introduce you to his family. his parents adore you, especially his mother, who cannot stop squishing your cheeks or commenting about how you're just the sweetest! and his father is just as kind and welcoming, gently teasing sebek who is so obviously fond of you. but his grandfather........ it caused quite the stir when his mother wished to marry his father, and sebek is already awkward and self-conscious enough being only half fae. he suspects baul will disapprove, albeit quietly so as not to disturb the peace of the holidays. but it's obvious in his actions that he's still not very fond of the idea of welcoming yet another human into the family bloodline.

sebek tells you this is just how his grandfather is and to not take it to heart. you know bits and pieces about the war he fought in from sebek, who tells the same tales his grandfather once shared, and they're all so impressive. you try to be understanding even though it's been years since that war and all has settled and changed for the better. it's a new era. humans and fae coexist peacefully and happily. but baul won't hear it. not from a human.

so you try to navigate this tense situation. sebek's siblings make things lighthearted, as do his parents, but there's always that feeling when you rest your head on the pillow and shut your eyes that you will never be enough in baul's eyes because you're human, and you can't change that. he can grumble all he wants, sebek will whisper to you as you cuddle close in his bed, but nothing is going to change his feelings for you. sebek loves you. and it's a wonderful reminder that soothes your heart. even so... you want to be on pleasant terms with baul.

just,,, maybe everyone else is preparing the holiday meal or setting the table and you're left alone. maybe you're flipping through a photo album or looking at the framed photos on the wall while you wait. baul who happens upon you and you try to take your leave, but then he starts talking about the memories associated with those photos and you linger because this is a first. pointing out the ones of his daughter and sharing all of the fond memories he has, and you realize he really does love his family. he's just stubborn (like a certain someone you know).

maybe you even share some of your own family memories from your world. baul who listens intently and it's the first time you find yourself having an cordial interaction with him. maybe even getting him to smile a bit when you mention sebek and how hard he works at school and how you're so grateful to be able to be here with him and meet his family.

shaking hands with him afterwards, and it's a very stiff handshake. but it's the thought that counts. and of course the moment is soon spoiled when you catch sebek's family, who were all peeking and listening in during your little moment, silently cheering you on LOL. baul who scoffs and gets flustered just like sebek and it's so silly to see their similarities.

slowly but surely, baul warms up to you.

Baul Zigvolt x Fae!OC Plans

The OC is named Illia who is a snake fae (based off the hypnotic snake from jungle book). Super AU since I am not up to date with the TWST Book 7 Canon.

She and Baul got together during the war. She was a spy and then something happens and she is discharged from the army because of an almost life ending injury (I am thinking poison). They have kept their relationship a secret but once she is discharged she and Baul finally get married and settle into a life with with each other. They try having children but fae have a hard time conceiving already and they don't even know if she can after her poisoning. There might be more angst in between but they end up only having one child (Sebek's mom). Even though they always dreamed of having a big family, a clutch/ whatever but only end up having one little girl. They spoil the hells out of her and when she grows up and brings home a human. Its like a record screech for both of them. They both fought in the war, and remember how mean humans are. Takes a little to warm up to it but once they meet him they relent. Baul is still mean with his anti-human sentiment that his wife is quick to stop, because she wants to be a part of her daughters and potential grandchildren lives.

The two of them are so fucking in love. and there is so much more backstory to the two your honor I just don't have the energy to write more these days.
