Episode 3!
Tumblr media
The sweetest part was Mary and George's back-and-forth correspondence, followed by its propagation among the rest of the family (Sheldon and Missy, Connie and Mary, Georgie and Mandy)!

Season 7 episode 3 of 911 titled Capsized, Tommy is reintroduced. Yes, all I guess minor characters one would call Tommy, Ravi, grandparents and kids go in and out depending on the story.
Hen remembers Tommy being unkind to her, so she’s a bit standoffish. And here we go ladies and gents. Here we go.
And we learn Hen is standoffish because Tommy knows a lot more, but that’s because Chim called him. That’s how Tommy is introduced to Buck and Eddie. I need lots of coffee.
I was so happy Nash and Athena are alright. I loved seeing Buck and Eddie save Nash and the little boy.

Eddie: *sad voice* Chrissy, there’s a spider near my car keys.
Chrissy: *pats his hand* You did the right thing by telling me.
Eddie: *watches anxiously from afar*
Chrissy: Shoo! Get out of here! *returns with a satisfied smile as she wipes her hands*
Eddie: *smiles* Ahh, that’s better.

ENG PLAYERS I BESEECH YOU
I have been informed that you guys are getting part 4 of episode 7 tomorrow, which means we are FINALLY going to get the official romanization of Revaan's name, somebody please tell me because I need to know what it is.
like, yes, it's probably just Revan/Levan, but look, I'm sitting here with my finger over the button of all these Laverne and Shirley jokes and just waiting for the opportunity to deploy them --

Season 7, Episode 3: The Girl Next Door
WHOA. 60 over 30??? That's really bad
Yikes
That's not good
I'm sorry Dean, but that's not happening
Ouch! Stop doing that!
Dude. What did you expect
Bobby!
Yeah...
But is that really Bobby
Yeah, no kidding
Dude, those take work
Something tells me dessert is the Winchesters
Or not
Oh Dean, you're in no shape to do anything
Good plan
Uh oh
This is nerve-wracking
Well crap
Oh thank goodness
They stole an ambulance.
Hmm. Good place to lie low
Really, Dean?
Wow, he is invested
Something tells me Dean would love Days if he gave it a chance
Baby!!!
Oh great
Have you tried Borax?
Well that's great
Major PTSD
Now you are, but you weren't 30 seconds ago
Yikes
Dude. Learn from Alexandria
I would not do that
Of course!
Sam, Interrupted
I mean, he is doing better
It's too good for Dean. Holy crap, this isn't just about Sam, it's about Dean's self-esteem issues. He doesn't think he can have anything good in his life, and that includes Sam getting better!
One step at a time
Yikes
That's concerning
Uh oh
Oh, that's really bad
That's not gonna help, Dean.
Oh, Dean...
No. Sam, no. He needs pie
A kitsune? Really?
Yikes
Sam, no
MY BLOODY VALENTINE WHAT

That's not going to help, Sam

The way to a girl's heart, I guess
I'm sorry, Sam
Yeah
Is he really gonna tell her?
Right...
I mean. I was right
Does that exclude Queen?
Oh, her mom's the monster
Yikes
Oh, Sam
Hey, that's fair
Go Sam!
She's a vigilante
I'm sorry, Amy
Wow.
Hey, at least Dean knows what's happening
Dean.

Sorry, Sam
Sam knows how that goes
Oh. Oh, I want to throttle John with my bare hands-
Sam...
Catch-22
She has a kid

Uh oh
Oh, Sam...
I feel really bad for them
Wow, he went flying! 😂
I'm okay with that rule
That was a sucky note
Mm, yeah, about that...
That's not good
She killed her own mom!
Yeah, that explains a lot
Wow, Dean
That's just it, Dean. You didn't have to
That's true
Oh, Dean...
Great. Biggerson's
The difference here, Sammy, is permission
That's a concerning thing to call it
Dean. Please don't
Please, Dean
No. No, Dean come on
Dang it, Dean...
Well crap

Merritt: So Syd and I roomed together on road trips because we're a couple. Sydney: Roomies. Roomies slash lovers! M: Y'all know how that goes, don't you? S: Yeah. M: Well played, you guys, well played. Christen: Guilty. Guilty. Tobin: Well played. Well played. S: Yeah, just roommates. M: We took a little note from your playbook and it works, actually. No one asked us shit. S: Yeah, yeah.
M: So anyway, we're laying in bed together watching those... S: Yeah. S: Cuddling. T: You always knew when the double bed, like one of them was, like, completely was made. M: Yeah. When you're trying to hide everything, you’re like, let me just... T: Mess up that other bed. C: Untuck those sheets, now we're good! M: Uh, move that pillow a little bit.

Emma D'Arcy on Rhaenyra's Fanaticism
Hi all so I've been going on about Rhaenyra's cult leader era for a few days now and wanted to bring in some quotes from two recent interviews that Emma D'Arcy gave about this most recent episode specifically. This is part three of my ramblings- I first talked about Rhaenyra's growing religious fanaticism here, and then expanded on the evidence from the show to support this here.
In the interview with the Wrap, we are told that Rhaenyra’s faith comes from “the ultimate belief that she is supposed to take over her father’s throne.” Over the series, “we see her become more and more wedded and ingratiated into her faith” to the point that “it borders on a kind of religious fanaticism.” She acts with this “slightly frightening…religious fervor, like she has the gods at her back in this decision.” In the interview with GQ, Emma reinforces this: “...something that has been happening for Rhaenyra throughout the series is a growing religious fanaticism.” Over the course of the episodes, “we see her more and more invested in her faith.”
As for why Rhaenyra is turning to religion, Emma outlines a few reasons in the GQ article. First, she is “in search of her right,” seeking to validate her insecurity over her birthright being questioned and usurped. Second, she has chosen her faith as the “anchor” that she is “going to cling to” in the wake of all the loss (Visenya, Lucerys, Rhaenys, Alicent, etc.) that she’s facing. But ultimately, Emma comes back to the idea of “narcissism” as Rhaenyra’s key motivator. “I think her connection with her religion is about wanting to reinforce a divine right.” Rhaenyra wants to believe that she is divinely ordained and special; it’s a very human desire, and so she’s reading into everything that happens around her. “She feels that she is riding on the wings of her faith. But her faith and her belief that she is the ruler that is supposed to sit on that throne are completely enmeshed.”
Emma also confirms in the GQ article that Rhaenyra views Addam claiming Seasmoke as “a gift from the gods” and says that this perceived sign is what emboldens Rhaenyra to both “ride roughshod over Jace’s very legitimate concerns” and is what “allows her to stage a massacre.” In the article from The Wrap, she expands on Rhaenyra dismissing Jace’s concerns: “ultimately, she will choose herself, really, above anyone. And here she chooses herself and her divine right over her son and her son’s legitimacy. I don’t think it’s an easy decision… but in this case, she feels she’s received divine permission.” We know how ride or die Rhaenyra has always been for her children, so this sense of divine permission must be incredibly significant to Rhaenyra in order to supersede her deep seated desire to fight for Jace’s claim.
Finally, Emma confirms in the GQ article that Rhaenyra feels like the dragonseeds’s deaths are “totally” and “without a shadow of a doubt” worth the result of two dragons being claimed. When Rhaenyra is up on that balcony, watching the dragonseeds be burned alive, “she feels like a god” and “feels super proud.”
Tumblr media
To Rhaenyra, even the proximity to Vermithor and his dragon fire feels like she is “soaking up the divine.” Rhaenyra is in a state of religious fervor that distances her from the “horrendous” things she is doing in the short term; instead of truly registering how awful the carnage before her is, she is instead “experiencing events within a far bigger timeline” and thinking about how her name will go down in “the history books.” And so Rhaenyra ends episode 7 as “this sort of emboldened fanatic.”

Why did I just notice that???
Do you see how Alicent is so dissatisfied in the scenes during the Green Council meeting in episode 9? How utterly surprised and somewhat disappointed?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's not because she falls from cloud nine to discover the possibility of Aegon becoming king when she learns about the lords' "long-laid plans" from Tyland Lannister. She knew that it would make sense for Aegon to inherit the throne for both the realm and the survival of her family, and basically gave us hints she realized this as early as the hunt scene in episode 3.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
More specifically, she understands that she might have to put Aegon on the throne during the scene when a heavily drunk Viserys laments his fears of making a mistake in naming Rhaenyra his heir since he now has a son, and reveals to Alicent his prophetic vision of seeing his son with the conqueror's crown. Even if at that moment, Alicent reassures Viserys he made the right choice, you can see that the doubt lingers in her mind, and in seeing Rhaenyra return from the hunt covered in blood in absolute and ruthless callousness, Alicent recognizes the danger.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It is a wake-up call: in the end, she might have to choose her son over Rhaenyra.
And of course, we know that as Aegon was growing up, Alicent spent hours musing these doubts and even confronts him with them in episode 6: "You are the challenge, simply by living and breathing. You are the king's firstborn son and what they know, what everyone in the realm knows in their blood and in their bones, is that one day you will be our king."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So what explains her dismay during the Green Council meeting??
As I see it, the cause of Alicent's distress during the Green Council among other things is not that the lords planned a whole operation to crown Aegon as king, but that they did so behind her back, as if she is not fit to be included in these discussions, let alone be consulted for her own son's future and survival.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She rightly says: "Am I to understand that members of the small council have been planning secretly, to install my son without me?" and right after that comes the condescending reply: "My queen, there was no need to sully you with darkling schemes."
No sh!t.
Remember how betrayed and distraught Alicent felt went Aemond lost an eye and everyone dismissed her concerns as that of an overreacting and overbearing mother? The Green Council scene gives flashbacks to this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Once again, Alicent's wishes, her wills, her thoughts, and her whole person as a mother, queen, advisor, and woman, are sidelined and minimized by members of her own council.
So this is why I think it makes sense that episode 9 is called "The Green Council" which contrasts the name given to a different council meeting in episode 10, namely, "The Black Queen." Because apparently, Rhaenyra owns her council meeting, even if she has to shut down Daemon to do so. But Alicent is not yet perceived as her own council's queen.
I hope we can somehow see Alicent truly become her own Green Queen in season 2.

Okay, I know the entrapment line by Colin is the hardest thing to listen to in part 2, but I wasn't even that mad at him even though he's being deliberately cruel and petty because we all say stupid shit when we're upset.
Instead I was borderline amused because my man, this girl thought eating cake made babies until two years ago. Did you really think the girl who thought fingering was as far as sex went was deliberately trying to entrap YOU, who just returned from his slut tour of Europe and immediately landed in Ton brothels?
I know you're mad but man Colin, you also dumb.
#the ton does not have comprehensive sex ed
