“What’s your favorite Bob and Linda moment?” -@boblinweek

This post was long overdue! I can’t believe I haven’t done this sooner, but here’s part two of the very first post I made on this lovely site, random Bob’s Burgers facts that no one asked for but I’m sharing/reminding everyone of because I can:
—Apparently, when Gene was a toddler, Bob had to watch him, and he somehow managed to eat a fern under Bob’s watch. Where did this fern come from? Who knows?  ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯  Bob was very worried and thought Gene would die or get really sick, but he was fine. Gene has an iron stomach for real. This tidbit is as mentioned in Season 3, Episode 15, O.T. The Outside Toilet.
—Gene is the only Belcher with visible ears, and they’re adorable 🥰 I still don’t know how Bob’s hair manages to completely cover his, but it does.
—Real life fact, but 9/3 is not only Bob and Linda’s anniversary, but also Loren Bouchard and his wife’s anniversary! That’s where he got the date from. How adorable.
—Linda’s birthday is June 3, making her a Gemini. Tina’s birthday is March 30, making her an Aries. Gene is a Sagittarius, making his birthday sometime in either late November or December. I like to say his birthday is December 19, because that’s one of my friend’s birthdays :3
—Linda’s high school was called Cardinal Genarro High School, and one time, there was a pumpkin carving contest. Linda didn’t want Gayle to feel bad for losing to Linda’s amazing pumpkin, so she tried smashing her own pumpkin. Gayle followed her, though, and because of a series of events, they ended up destroying the entire table, which they swore to keep secret until well into adulthood (Season 12, Episode 3, The Pumpkinening).
—Linda’s hometown is a made-up town called Hunkawtaway.
—Linda once had Jury Duty on St. Patrick’s Day and wore a green blazer to court.
—Tina’s favorite flowers are Gardenias, as revealed in Season 5, Episode 11, Can’t Buy Me Math.
—Tina owns cat pajamas as seen in Season 4, Episode 9, Slumber Party, and that’s very important to me.
—Gene has brown eyes, which he most likely inherited from Bob. In the comics, Tina’s eye color is revealed to be blue, which she might have inherited from Linda.
—According to Gene in Season 11, Episode 2, Worms of In-Rear-Ment, Louise has always wanted to see Machu Pichu.
—Louise has apparently seen “Game of Thrones”. I wonder what she thought of it. Funnily enough, in the Season 4 Wharf Horse two-part season finale, Bob mourned the fact that he’d never find out how the show ended.
—As seen in Season 11, Episode 14, Mr. Lonely Farts, Gene normally hates being alone and thrives off the energy of other people. My poor boy had a whole panic attack when he was accidentally left home alone. However, he ends up using the opportunity to do a rave in Louise’s room with all of her toys, which she usually tells him not to do. It’s also revealed in that episode that Linda has a secret cracker stash, which he infiltrates.
—According to Season 13, Episode 18, Gift Card or Buy Trying, Gene might not like himself a whole lot. He rants about his former friend, Mitchell, saying that he’s loud, can’t really play music, and has no idea how annoying he is, and then comes to a realization, saying they’re exactly the same, so those things might be how he views himself.
—In Season 13, Episode 21, Mother Author Laser Pointer, it’s shown that Bob and Linda used to read Snail & Newt books to the kids when they were young, which is based off the real life Frog & Toad series. It’s so sweet they did this T_T
—Teddy’s favorite color is yellow! Mine is too :D This was revealed in Season 4, Episode 16, I Get Psy-Chic Out of You.
—Teddy’s full name might be Theodore J. McGillicuddy.
—Jimmy Pesto called Jimmy Jr. “Pepper” as a nickname in Season 1, Episode 10, Burger War, a nickname that’s not been repeated since.
—According to Season 3, Episode 20, The Kids Run the Restaurant, Mr. Fischoeder was married for a week. He had a real Grunkle Stan moment.
—As seen in Season 9, Episode 19, Long Time Listener, First Time Bob, Bob loved listening to a radio station with a DJ named Clem when he and Linda first started getting the restaurant off the ground. I think Bob listening to the radio at night and jamming out is very endearing. The same episode also revealed Bob’s hatred for Sweet Potato Fries.
—In Season 9, Episode 16, Roamin’ Bob-Iday, it’s revealed Bob occasionally succumbs to severe burnout from working at the restaurant, but despite that, cooking will always be his favorite thing to do.
—As revealed in Season 7, Episode 7, The Last Gingerbread House on the Left, Bob used to build gingerbread houses with his late mother, Lily. In the same episode, he made mini gingerbread versions of his family, which is the cutest thing ever. He’s the best dad for real.

Season 3, Episode 15: O.T: Outside Toilet.
Tumblr media
Premise: A mysterious crate lost in the night. Gene fails his parenting class. Moping, he takes the long way home. Finding an amazing talking toilet that he bonds with. He loves taking care of his friend. Unfortunately, someone comes looking for it. Meaning he has to escape this guy and charge his toilet, which is low on battery. Unfortunately, it turns out the toilet is stolen and is confiscated by the cops. Upsetting Gene until Bob gives him a 'pep talk.'
Bob contests a parking ticket in a borrowed suit. Looking like a respectable guy. He's treated better, and it goes to his head a little.
My Thoughts: A Gene-centric episode about a toilet. So, just what you would expect from the wacky world of Bob's Burgers. Also parodying that famous E.T scene, the moon looked pretty. But are parenting classes actually real? Is it just a trope?
Pros: Bob literally insulting a kid that wasn't his. Louise's plan, that, goes without a hitch.
Cons: Poor gene. Linda also calls some ladies sl*ts, not cool.
My Favourite Line: His name is Bob Burger.
My Rating: 7.5 /10.

TINA AND HER LOVE FANTASIES
1 - Tina dated a ghost in Tina and the Real Ghost (Season 5, Episode 2)
Tumblr media
The basement storage space of the restaurant has a bug infestation and Bob has an exterminator come to check it out. However, the exterminator claims the basement is haunted and refuses to treat the infestation, claiming they need to make contact with the spirit to get rid of it. Linda and the kids decide to use a Ouija board to communicate with the ghost and trap it in a shoebox to get rid of it. Using the board, they learn that the ghost is a 13-year-old boy named Jeff, which piques Tina's interest. After "trapping" Jeff in the box, Tina refuses to throw "him" out and brings him with her to school. Tammy, Jocelyn, Zeke, and Jimmy Jr. taunt Tina about the box, until Louise has them all use the Ouija board to communicate with Jeff. They become convinced Jeff is real, and through the board, learn that Jeff is cool and that he has a crush on Tina.
Tina and Jeff begin going out, earning her attention from her friends, though she has some doubts about whether Jeff is real. However, Tammy takes the box and claims that Jeff left a message written in steam on the girls' bathroom mirror that says he's breaking up with Tina and is now dating Tammy. Tina is heartbroken. The family tries to decide how to cheer Tina up and Louise reveals to the rest of the family that she controlled the Ouija board and made Jeff up, but did not anticipate that Tina would fall in love with him or that Tammy would one-up her by stealing Tina's popularity with a similar ruse.
Louise and Gene resolve to get back at Tammy by scaring her on Halloween night when the older kids plan to enter a mausoleum in the nearby cemetery. Tina surprises them by joining the group and they head into the mausoleum, which immediately shuts and traps them inside in complete darkness. Louise takes this opportunity to steal the box and fill it with bugs from the restaurant and gives it back to Tammy to open. The kids light a candle and are frightened to find a message written in blood on the mausoleum walls, allegedly from Jeff, condemning them all to Hell.
Scared, Tammy confesses that she wrote the fake breakup message and throws the box away, causing the bugs to swarm them all. Tina calms everyone down by revealing that she pretended the mausoleum door was locked and wrote the message before they arrived in ketchup to scare them, having realized long ago that Jeff was not real.
She explains that they all believed in Jeff because he was able to give them something they wanted: Tina wanted a boyfriend, Zeke wanted to believe in the afterlife, Jocelyn wanted another way to conform, and Tammy wanted Jeff as a status symbol. Tina states that they can get these things from themselves, though they all agree that Tammy is terrible. Louise is impressed that Tina pulled such a great Halloween prank on all of them.

2 - Tina dated a duck in Every Which Way but Goose (Season 9, Episode 14)
Tumblr media
When Jimmy Jr. cancels their school dance plans, Tina, discouraged by not being asked to prom by Jimmy Jr., forms an unhealthy attachment to a goose from the nearby park.
Tina's story revolves around her theme "Dance of the Living Dead" being chosen for the school dance. She goes berserk when Jimmy Jr. won't ask her to the dance (which was due to an embarrassing injury) and ends up forming a bond with a goose - she named Bruce - at the local park. This leads to the goose disrupting the dance when it followed her to school.
This is one of the rare episodes where we see Jimmy Junior being bashful of his feelings towards Tina.
During the dance, Gene and Louise find out why Jimmy Junior didn't ask Tina. While dancing, he injured his buttocks. He felt embarrassed about what Tina would think of his injury and not being able to dance with her.
“I pulled my butt muscle doing a very difficult move from Save the Last Dance. There. I said it. (sighs) It feels good not to hide my butt stuff anymore. Anyway, I can't really dance, but I'd like to try. With you.”
Tumblr media
He later sacrifices himself to save the trapped goose.
Tumblr media
3 - Tina fell in love with a character from a Spanish audio course.
Tumblr media
In Y Tu Tina También (Season 11, Episode 16) it’s school fair time again, and Gene and Louise are training hard on throwing skills to at last put Mr Frond smack in the dunk tank. Meanwhile, Tina is suffering crippling ennui, but is lifted out of it when she is forced to listen to Spanish audio lessons in the library to improve her grade and developed an infatuation with a spanish teenage boy – or rather, the voice of a 15 years-old boy named Rodrigo recorded on a 1980s Spanish language teaching cassette someone donated to the school.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jokes about Tina obsession for love and boys:
Also producers made a joke about Tina's very developed ability to made up romantic stories with every single boy or object she saw.
In O.T.: The Outside Toilet (Season 3, Episode 15) Gene finds an expensive talking toilet out in the woods, he falls in love with it and he and his friends decide to protect it against an evil toilet hunter who calls himself Max Flush.
Tumblr media
This is remarked in Just One of the Boyz 4 Now for Now (Season 9, Episode 1).
Tumblr media
A news report on Boyz 4 Now shows that they're having auditions for a 4th member after a new album sells poorly. While Tina is taking napkins out of the car, she bumps into Damon, a boy going to the tryouts and says it's love at first sight. Convinced she's met the love of her life, Tina decides to disguise herself as a boy and sneak into the Boyz 4 Now auditions to find him, since girls aren't allowed to go to them. Tina struggles to keep focused due to other boys at the tryouts, so she understands that she doesn't love Damon because of all the boys she fantasized about.

Bob's Burgers Season 3 Episode 15 “O.T.: The Outside Toilet”
Tumblr media
For the past handful of weeks now I’ve been seeing a bunch of different stuff that was trying to tell me something about E.T., but it wasn’t until today that I fully understood what it all meant.
Hint #1: Not too long ago I shared a post from Nerdist about making E.T. shaped cookies. Clink on the link here to see that post.
Hint #2: I recently watched an episode of Bob’s Burgers that referenced both Witchcraft and E.T., furthering my believe that there are similarities between the two. Clink on the link here to see that post.
Hint #3: While reading Neil Gaiman’s American Gods recently, one character makes reference to a well known alien practice: “I believe that people are perfectible, that knowledge is infinite, that the world is… visited by aliens on a regular basis… bad ones who mutilate cattle and want our water and our women.” In case you don’t know, there are many cases of cow mutilation (read up on the subject here) that are hard to explain and often occur around the time that farmers have seen UFOs in the area. It’s not hard to put 2 and 2 together.
With episode 7x03 of Bob’s Burgers still fresh in my mind, I was reminded of a previous episode of the show that was clearly trying to tell me something that I didn’t fully grasp before: E.T. is manipulating us (in Bob’s Burgers 3x15 Bob manipulates everyone around him to get what he wants by wearing a nice suit) with his advanced technology (Gene - a name with such obvious significance - finds a smart toilet in the woods) through our meat!
I just don’t quite know to what end. Simple experimentation? Gene manipulation? Who knows. That said, one thing is clear:
DON’T EAT THE BURGERS, PEOPLE!
