Thrillophilia Review Of My Andaman Honeymoon Trip

With a summer wedding I and my husband were planning to be somewhere where we get to spend a lot of time together with some scenic views. And the first places that strikes our mind was the Andaman. As the name goes this magnificent island goes Andaman perfectly falls in as the perfect honeymoon destination for couples. The crystal clear turquoise waters, the serene beaches and the white sand will blossom your love while you start with your new journey.  Our journey through the amazing island was something which we will cherish forever.

We have heard about the tour operator Thrillophilia and so we contacted them. They offered us a very decent package with a reasonable price and accommodation included. For our stay we had hotels booked at the J Hotel in Port Blair and The Wild Orchid at Havelock Island. We took our flight from Kolkata Airport to Port Blair which took around 2 hours. We were received by the organizers and transferred to our rooms.  I would like to mention few of the places we visited and some of the activities during our honeymoon trip

Some of the places which we visited in Andaman are:

Cellular Jail: This is one of the hot spot in Andaman and is filled with travelers from around the world. Also known as Kala Pani this was a colonial prison in the Andaman.  The view from the top was very beautiful and we could even see the North Bay island.  But the best part came in the evening, the sound and light show was remarkable.

Chidiya Tapu: As we were on our honeymoon, we decided to visit this romantic place named Chidiya Tapu. Located at a distance of around 25 km from the south of Port Blair this beach is also called Sunset Point or Bird Island. As the name goes we enjoyed the most beautiful sunset together here. The whole place becomes spectacular to look at as the sun goes down the elongated black cliff.

Radhanagar Beach: Crowned among the 7th best beaches in the world this is another beach which you should not miss while you are on your honeymoon. Walking unshod with my beloved while staring at the sunset was just the moment I would want to pause forever. It was truly magical.

Neil Island: Located 40 kms from Port Blair this beach is known for its unique charm. For some romantic time this is the perfect place to spend you evening by the sea side while the breeze gently touch your face.  I and my wife decided to rent bicycles and explore the island. It was indeed really very beautiful.

Mahatma Gandhi National Park: During our trip another place that we visited was the Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park. This national park is close to Wandoor on the Andaman Islands. The park has variety of coral reefs, fishes, molluscs, shells, starfish, turtles, salt-water crocodile. We also saw white-bellied ocean hawk, parakeets and Andaman blue-green while visiting the national park.

Elephant Beach: With its white sandy beach and unbeatable reefs this is one place you would not want to miss in the Andamans. The crystal clear waters will beckon you to head out for a dip in the waters. Whether you are basking in the sun with your beloved or heading out for some scuba diving or snorkeling in this beach will definitely give you a lot of memories.

Jolly Buoy Island: Another island which we loved exploring in the Andaman is the Jolly Buoy Island. This island is located at the Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park and is popular among the people for its crystal emerald water and coral reefs. Surrounding the island there is another island with some spectacular views.

Corbyn's Cove Beach: Another of the majestic beach which is a must visit for you is the famous Corbyn’s Cove Beach.  Just 8 km away from Port Blair this beach is popular among the people visiting this island. The scenic trails, the beckoning background will make you feel as you have end up on an alternate world.  I and my wife also explored few of the places nearby the beach and also collected seashells.

Some of the activities which we did in Andaman are:

Sea walking: Like I have mentioned before Andaman is just tailor made for couples and honeymooners here you will also have lots and lot of adventure. What could be a better way to spend some time exploring the underwater with your beloved? My wife was scared at first as she is a non swimmer. But we had some experienced diver with us who was taking us to the places where we can walk easily underwater. A protective cap with a straightforward visor is set on your head. We can breathe underwater with the help of the mechanical system.

Snorkeling: This was another best activity which we really loved it during our amazing Andaman trip.  The crystal clear shallow water makes it perfect for the snorkeling. Snorkeling in the pristine and undamaged reefs with white sandy beaches was really wonderful. We also spotted variety of fish, a lobster, or even clams on the coral reef. I always imagine the marine life but when you actually see it you will find it lot more interesting.

Glass Bottom Boat Ride: For my wife this was the best part from the whole Andaman trip. While taking this boat ride we saw the variety of marine life underwater swimming through the glass bottom. A lot of boats from Port Blair take you on this amazing marine tour. The luxurious windows will take you through a journey of the underwater at a high speed. Your total time will be of 60 minutes.

Parasailing: This is known as one of the most favorite sports in Andaman.  I am a bit acrophobic and so was scared to do this first. But once I was dragged by the canopy the wind it was all gone. Watching the whole place from that height was really amazing. I have never seen any place so beautiful, so serene and enticing.

It was quite a wonderful experience for the both of us. I would also like to mention about the tour operator Thrillophilia for organizing the whole trip so well. Our accommodation was also very neat and clean and so was the food. We made quite good memories on this trip. I will cherish this moments forever.
