When my husband and I first got together we BOTH had a dream the *same night* about a #black dragon. Mine was solid matte black like charcoal and his had an iridescent shine. Anyone who knows me, knows I'm a fan of #dragons. So I obviously became even more obsessed with the symbolism of these kinds of synchronistic patterns in the world.

Historically in mythology dragons have represented either demonic manifestations or they have been protective like gargoyles, protecting your #wealth.🐉Today there are so many different kinds of dragons. Among those are Chinese dragons, Babylonian dragons, Celtic dragons, elemental dragons and so many more in creation.

Like the dragons I personally created. This one is called #Baedra. Baedra leads my character Jorath through a place where he was trapped between dimensions. He's very similar to the "luck dragon" and the "Cheshire cat" in behavior and importance. He was created in a day though a sudden inspiration when I saw specifically those eyes appear to me in a vision during his imagining. I never finished illustrating him. I need a space to focus on it and to be inspired to complete him.

This next dragon, however, took ten good solid years to manifest. I love the symbolism of the #Ouroboros. It's ancient and really fits my motif of philosophical visions. The Ouroboros also represents both a protective force and a demonic or destructive force (self-destruction). This is most important to me because my father killed himself and his death was my freedom from his mental illness as well as his own liberation from his mental illness, sociopathy and pedophilia. This has endeared me so closely to the Ouroboros symbolism and what it has meant for my life. It has been a protective symbol in my life and embodies a connection with other life here too so I witness it at work often chipping away at my own demons and protecting me from them. I envisioned this Ouroboros Chimera and my tattoo artist delivered it from my brain to paper and now it's on my back. Sean Herman @seanhermantattoo did an amazing job here.

About six years ago Ryan and I dreamed of a black dragon together. This morning I was inspired to talk about it as I was sifting through all of my animal totems/visitors. I am thinking of calling on a specific dragon for protection this season. Dragons are chimeras and the most recent animal totems I've encountered have been the Tiger, The Snake and The Bat. Well if you put a tiger head on a snake body and give it bat wings, you'll have a dragon 🙃 but I wanted this dragon to especially be protective of our child so I needed an animal totem for her. Ryan and my Love totem between each other is the Emperor Penguin and our little girl has some happy feet! Well the Arctic is no place for a black dragon, but for a frost dragon... BTW my favorite of the elemental dragons... Shouldn't be a problem.
