Edit: okay so when I wrote this I imagined ronan and cara as merfolk as well but the mental image if ronan as a crab is also amazing and I can't pick which i love more

Stay Alive reprise but it's Ronan as dying Phillip, Brianna as Eliza, and Seamus as Alexander. Connor is trying to keep Cara and Paddy outside of the room where Ronan and their parents are. There's silence till they hear the Brianna version of Eliza's scream and Connor just has to hold back his siblings who are screaming and crying for Ronan and their parents while he cries.

It's quiet uptown but it's Brianna and Seamus after Ronan was killed in a fight protecting his siblings. They've rebuilt Bay Hollow but no matter how similar to the original it is, without their son it feels much colder and the beautiful autumn colors look less bright for the Whitlaws.

The Whitlaw Family Colours

It’s not pictured here, but Paddy’s cloak is the basis for the entire family’s colours. In particular the leaves of his cloak appear as feature colours across all their outfits. In the Whitlaws we get the chance to really demonstrate how Bay Hollow’s fashions are shaped by their environment and vice versa. Before it’s ransacking, Bay Hollow existed in a sort of eternal autumn, despite the fact that the seasons passed in the town just like they did everywhere else on Arcadon. The way the town’s colours have changed so radically upon Paddy’s return should hint to the required presence of the town’s populous to maintain the beautiful shades of autumn throughout the year.

Paddy and his siblings are a design mix of their parents, Brianna and Seamus. Ronan is the most like his father, having barely any of his mother’s freckles, but all of the Whitlaw children have Seamus’ hair colour. Their costume design reflects their familial ties as well - for example, Ronan wears his scarf like Brianna, and Connor wears arm wraps like Seamus.

It’s important to note that the colour swatches around each character are only our initial shading colours. Although this palette specifies these swatches and opacity, during the colour grading stage for this episode we discovered it was better to use a single colour for shadows that matched the scene as a whole, and then adjust the opacity accordingly. The purple shadows in the carnival scenes are a good example of this, and a good example of something we’ve learnt since we started production on this show!
