ANYTHING for you! This is based on updates on Twitter/people’s comments in my inbox/my own personal experience

Reza’s Dinner: Absolutely, despicably boring. Not a single scene was started. Where was the Magick protest outside?? Why weren’t ppl interrogating Reza to the third degree?? Where was the long-lost relative responsible for the initial article leak, come now to get his revenge and reveal Reza’s stash of objectifying fairy porn or something?  I was really hoping this would turn into one giant game of Clue-- we’d find Reza murdered in his own house, get locked in one giant room together, and yell at each other until one of us cracks under the pressure. It was Toulouse by the stairs with the leg of mutton! No, it was Phineas in the kitchen with a giant bottle of curl-fortifying shampoo! Alas, there was not even One Murder.  

Al’s Potluck: Sweet and Cute and Good For Your Health. We saw a lot of flirting at this event tbh-- I’m looking at you Lachlann and you Seamus, but also Haru and Jun, both disturbing concepts I don’t want to think about anymore!!! Who knew that potatoes could be such an aphrodisiac? 

Shock’s Haunted House: A rip-roaring good time! 10/10, though there was ALSO a suspicious lack of murder! Really the only newsworthy thing that happened was Ashle Boulet going in with Candy... and never coming out again ;) JK, they did, but this is not the first time they’ve been seen together, which makes me think that Candy is Assimilating into the Ashley Hive Mind. Wonder how Phineas is gonna feel about that? 

Aquata’s Walk-a-Thon: Surprisingly ok because of # of cute dogs, could have used less walking.

Greasers: BLAH, look I wouldn’t hate this if they like at least performed Greased Lightning or committed to the HAIRSPRAY bit, like, give me some volume!! I love boys in leather, but Halloween is a time to go all out, not play it safe. 1/10

Mei and Lock’s Antony and Cleopatra: Honestly, barely redeemed from last place by Mei’s wig. Still, it’s truly so straightforward and boring, especially compared to these other options. The heterosexuality, additionally, repulses me. You both deserve the tragic end foretold. 2/10

The Justice League ft. bros + Rose: Lol. This is basic AF, completely uninteresting to me, and borderline racist in Swynlake terms (Tom is the one playing with that line there-- though it’s all up for debate, I’m just acknowledging the debate exists). I do LOVE they included their dog though, and I guess it does tech pass the Bechdel test (unlike most superhero movies) b/c of that so... that’s the only reason I’m putting you above Mei and Lock. 3/10

The Flynn-Fletcher Brothers as Mario/Luigi: Look, this is also pretty boring to me. I give points for it obvs be homemade, and I mean, they both ARE cute which... is maybe saving this more than it should. But I love cuties in overalls! I guess there’s something to be said for a classic? IDK ask me again tomorrow and I might hate it. 3/10

Minnie and Marzel as Zorro and Elena: It’s sexy! I love mining a lesser known Hollywood classic, and I love a mask, and I LOVE a sword. It’s just altogether very sexy in a classic way, and so it’s a solid, albeit safe costume. One day I too hope to wear a beautiful white gown and have my own Zorro sweep me off my feet so! I don’t hate it! 4/10

Jake Long + Deb’s Alien/Astronaut: Slightly more original! Now we’re thinking! I’m in love with Deb’s hair here, and I think the costume does strike a good balance between sexy/quirky. She also sidesteps the whole magick debate by going alien!! I missed Jake Long’s face though. RIP. 5/10

Mocha, Jane, and Barbie’s Pirates: This is also very basic and classic, but It’s ranking higher than others for the following reasons: Barbie. Mocha. Also, Jane’s HILARIOUS peg leg. That’s playing to your strengths! So um yes, please, someone, plunder my booty anyday ;-; 5/10

John Darling + Ting-Ting’s Celebrity Chefs: Honestly, if your costume isn’t at least a little bit funny, even if it’s in an uncomfortable way, what are you even doing? This feels both funny and uncomfortable and made me do a double-take on my feed. Honestly, the more I look at it, the more I love Ting-Ting’s Guy Fieri. She might, actually, be the coolest Qin after all??? Who knew! 7/10

Nemo/Finn/Tae’s Powerpuff Girls: Look, I admit that I don’t know if this falls in the same is this racist? club as the Justice League, but I’m willing to ignore it because 1. GENDERBENDDDDDD and 2. COMPLETELY homemade and designed from the ground up (ugh ugh ugh) and 3. More inventive than the Justice League. Also I LIKE Powerpuff more, and I do want to steal Finn’s boots, thank you for asking-- and Nemo and Finn even dyed their hair! I respect, I respect. 8/10

Simber’s Danny/Sandy: It’s the Queering a Classic for me, and also the Six-inch Heels for me, and the Leather Jumpsuit for me, and also Berlioz’s entire forehead, so smooth and bright that you could land a PLANE on that thing. I think Simber knows exactly what Halloween is and this costume, like their others, are the perfect balance of hilarious and sexy and scary all at once! Do I want to hit on Simba or run away screaming? I simply can’t decide! 9/10

Alana/Jake’s Genderbent Playboy + Bunny: It’s the Queering a Classic for me. Again, I reward couples who make a little bit of a joke of themselves, and so this made me respect Jake more (though I think we all knew he was the sub in the relationship anyway). This one is slightly edging out Simber because I think the Playboy/bunny combo is less done than Danny/Sandy. It’s really a toss-up though. 9/10

Seamus MacTuggen + dog as Indiana Jones + t-rex: YES this counts as a COUPLE we respect dog lovers on this blog. Um, it’s actually hilarious. I think what I love most about it is how low-effort it is but to great effect. Like, Seamus probably had all these clothes in his closet already! He is a sexy billionaire who used his cheapest flannel and bought a dog costume online for like 10 quid! I like that BDE energy and it also gives me a special thrill to give this award to the person who tried the least. It’s simply infuriating, I know. I’m a monster. Happy Halloween. :) 10/10
