Day one of Auraugust: Scales

Sdir has more snakelike scales than actual plating. They do get thicker around his forearms and spine.

WHOOPS FORGOT TO POST HERE TOO, I’m doing mermay this year but I’m not following any particular prompt list. I mostly just want to get a drawing out every day. ANYWAY THIS WAS DAY 1, Sdir will most likely be the main subject this month.

Day 6: Sdir is a leviathan-class mermaid, so it's unclear why he prefers to stay near shallow water instead of migrating deeper. Some theorize that the area he frequents most might be a popular nursery for merbabies and that he sticks around to protect the young.

Auraugust day 2: childhood

Sdir didn’t have a nice childhood. He was orphaned at an early age, absorbed into a completely separate tribe, and basically ignored because he smells awful (he has TMAU, a metabolic disorder that makes him smell terrible no matter how much he bathes).
