Belphegor brainrot...?

I wanted to put together all crumbs about Belphie just like I did with Asmo.

We know Nilfheim is a something like a military hive mind. Nobles use swords or other melee weapons (the scythe is somewhat included in this), and since consistency is usually maintained, plus Bathin has a uniform resembling a soldier (we will talk about uniforms later), let's very roughly assume that it is, to some extent, a knightly country.

Okay I'll be honest, I'm just amused by the idea of Belphie as a mixture of Sleeping Beauty and a knight on a white horse lol.

I don't have a screenshot unfortunately, but Satan during Halloween event said Beplhie don't like tedious work (even if it's just a signing.) Expected. He's embodiment of sloth after all.

Actually, I can relate.

It looks like Gusion and Bael could shake hands. But Belphie is there, he really does a lot when he's out of his cave. It is not without reason that it is said that lazy people are the best employees because they will get the job done in the fastest way.

Looks like his Majesty is flirty! A big point in my opinion, because for me he seemed cold and distant. I was afraid that we would be too similar to Leviathan, but I guess that's not the case.

He doesn't sound like this decision bothered him at all. I don't know how to interpret it, so I leave it here out of chronicler's duty. And to please the eyes, look at my pretty boy!!!

But... that's it. That's all. So, I have found a related topic to rabmle about.

Nilfheim boys what's wrong with you?

We only know two, only recently three of them. Gusion, Bathin, Andrealphus.

And I guess they have a different definition of military than us.

Two of the three are like, "hey, have you seen that unicorn in the green cloak? This one who is never in his country? Great idea!" and yeeted themselves from Nilhfeim.

He just. Randomly visited Earth. Because why not.

We are fresh from Andrea's escapades to Avisos. We know that he spends a lot of time there and from the screenshot above we also know that he doesn't really need things like his king permission to be happy.

Considering that Bathin is friends with Stolas...

...aka his personal radio, I'm sorry I can't get over this lol, it is very possible that he also often visits Avisos. Beel, you are tempting nobles from the next country and you are not even in your own country.

Bathin? Andrea? I understand that in a sentence "The devils of Niflheim almost never move individually" you are the "almost". Two of the three known. A known majority. They are hopeless.

And you know what? The third one isn't any better.

Yeah. Who in a MILITARY COUNTRY would wear a uniform. Well, no one normal. Let's get back to those uniforms, this time for real.

We already know that Gusion doesn't bother with such bullshit, so we don't know if what we actually see is the one times he wears something he should wear all the time. (I guess we do and he just doesn't have a jacket.)

Bathin has a uniform, but it's from Paradise Lost. It is possible that his appearance refers to this and not Nilfheim, as we know that other devils associated with foreign countries, especially Buer, but also Sitri, have appearances related to the latter country.

Andrea seems to be the most reliable. But who knows? He wanders where he shouldn't, do you think he would care about his uniform? Plus… A wing? And a halo? Exactly.

Ultimately, I would lean towards uniforms of nobles that look like hitmans. Just like someone described Andrea in the event.

At least one thing is right. The devils of Nilfheim are unnaturally strong, even by their standards. We all remember how Andrea abused every angel in his path. Even the big guy who seemed to break him like a match. No, the big guy was shaking like an aspen under his feet as Andrea happily dismembered him. As we can see, Gusion's sword also proves his strength.

Even some of Nilfheim's lower devils seem to have great fighting skills. Not all of them, of course. One is a fish.

We have the least information about the countries of Asmo and Belphi, but we have some coherent idea about Abaddon thanks to the nobles. Nilhfeim? Nope! Funny country. I can't wait to visit it.

Some quick things to get out of the way with my kwamis and this newest batch.

Animosity and Wrath: While these two seem fundamentally close, which they are, Animosity is ultimately hate, not just rage. Hate is often a byproduct of anger, hence why they are so closely related, but Animosity doesn't always need to come from a place of anger, but 9 times out of 10, it usually is. So, Ira is the pure essence of anger and a short fuse, while Orikko is hatred personified.

Sloth and Lethargy: These two were a little harder to explain at first, but ultimately comes down to the definitions of them and their pairs. So, Sloth is the reluctance to work while Lethargy is low energy, but not reluctance. This is further shown in the pairs. Diligence is careful, persistent work while Determination is firmness and unyielding. They are both what leads to Diligence and Sloth, but not them at the same time. So, here's the explanation for them:

Diligentia is the act of the hard work that could take years to accomplish and the keen eye for every detail in the work. Sloth is the refusal to work. Determination is the unyielding force that drives us. Lethargy is that low energy state when we need to relax and take a break.

The Pandora Box:

I wasn't going to call it this, but I like it, so it stays. Now, this is where I say it's the closest you'll get to it being a miracle box because this box contains the jewels of the Sins but is guarded by the Virtues.

Now, the box:

The box itself is very unassuming. The most notable things about it is the bizarre art/markings and that there is no way to open the box. This is because the box is more of a prison, crafted by the Virtues to hold the Sins. And while the design is near flawless, there is but one flaw to it. While no ordinary mortal can open it, a holder would have access to the contents within. Something the Virtues will keep away from the holders and other kwamis.

The Virtues and Sins are the result of Velze's "death" just as is the creation of Gimmi. They were once a core ensemble of the family as the core beliefs, good and bad, that Velze upheld. The kwamis as a whole embraced them, until the Sins started causing trouble that their virtuous pairs deemed them too dangerous to leave to their own devices, containing them against the wills of their siblings.

Now the Virtues have assigned themselves the task of watching over the Sins and keeping them contained until they are all called back on the final day. At least, that's what they hope.

ok this is sorta a mix of two abilities with their own conditions, basically envy can transform into people and copy their powers but can only use it when they transform into the power's wielder not only that but the accuracy of the copied ability depends on his knowledge of it while the strength of the ability is relied on how much envy he has for that person/power and how much he wants it

say hello to bapho, the traveling merchant of yokei godneu, and the planet of pheron. A mysterious figure how sells a wide variety of magical items, bapho hides their true appearence form everyone. Suspicious as ever, bapho does make good deals for their items, and they usually work as intended, though often these magical items have to do with transformation. Purely chaotic, bapho doesnt have any sort of allegiance with anyone and anything, it’s not even sure what their gender is, all that is know is that they are not human. Bapho is always accompanied by a pet slime that they use to make their various transformation potions and objects, I can’t show it in this photo, but I promise, you will see them later.

Bapho like her name suggests is actually a powerful baphomet, the demon species of sloth, how actually is doing something, equipped with a powerful scythe in her true form, bapho is rather powerful for a Demon. However, despite this, bapho is a peaceful baphomet, just preferring to sell stuff, than fight, unless she has to, and bapho isn’t even her real name, she just uses it to respect the leader of the baphomets, though I haven’t come up with it.

name meaning: "Scythe Lizard" "Turtle Formed"

pronunciation: Ther-i-zine-oh-sore-us kell-on-i-form-iss

What: A large, probably herbivorous theropod

When: Late Cretaceous

Where: Nemegt Formation in the Gobi Desert in Mongolia

Fun fact!: An original description of Therizinosaurus the material was thought to have belonged to a gigantic turtle with huge three foot long claws. This original material was found among much Mongolian turtle material, however reexamination of the specimen showed that it was actually a part of a very interesting dinosaur instead.

Why are they cool?: As one of the few theropods with proposed herbivorous habits, it is an excellent example of convergent evolution (def: the independent evolution of features that appear reminiscent of features that appear in multiple organisms that have no common ancestry, e.g. wings in bats and birds).

The arms of Therizinosaurus have been notably compared to herbivorous mammals such as the Giant Ground Sloth and proposed to employ similar feeding styles of retrieving vegetation for consumption as well as digging for roots in the earth.

Her Sin Affinities are sloth, gloom, and wrath. Sloth comes from how she lets others decide her life choices, never taking control of anything or truly "living." Reap is just an empty body, nothing within her. She makes no decisions of her own. Gloom comes from the same thing, really, how she lives an empty life with nothing to live for. How all she can feel is the desperation to live, her survival instinct. Wrath ties into her desperation and determination. She must live, and she will act in extreme violence to keep living. A dead body cannot follow through on commands. Failure is not an option. Turtle Dove has a rage within her, her true self and a desire to live on the verge of seeping out. This also puts noise at risk, and she will never back out or give up unless ordered to do so.

Her E.G.O is still something I'm working on... It's called 2:7 and the primary affinity is wrath. She gains her wings and uses a scythe. Deals slash damage. Unsure of what else outside of that v_v

Fern should've had therizinosaurus instead. Therizinosaurs were the Giant Ground Sloths of the cretaceous. Smilodon (Sabertooth Cats) and its cousins hunted ground sloths. Perfect Fizzy tie in too! plus Therizinosaurus means "reaping lizard" or "scythe lizard", so Fern should've had a scythe. also therizinosaurus probably had feathers, so shes floofy like Izzy!

plus giving Fern whatever the fuck solon is rather random.

However, I don't necessarily agree with the last part bc wasn't Fern given the title of Solonosaurus (not a real dinosaur, but that is what Solon is) ranger bc she saved Solon?

A Cursed Queen's Pride

If any knew Lilith, which so few took the dedicated time to do so, they would know that she was no fan of the exterminations. She hated that Heaven believed they could still dictate what could go and what could stay in the territory belonging to her and Lucifer.

She wasn't exactly battle trained but she wanted to fight! Lucifer always advised that she should stay indoors when they flew in to leave with a death toll of Sinners under their belt. Lilith knew that he meant well but she felt helpless, weak - a damsel in distress. She didn't need someone else to fight her battles.

But she wanted to know how to fight.

Word had caught her ear that there was a demonic Duke who commanded legions of demons under his command. Not a terrible source to seek out if she wanted help.

The day following the extermination, Lilith waited until Lucifer left for his meeting with the Sins to slip out and find Astaroth on her own. Traveling down to the Wrath Ring, she made her way to his base of operations.

Upon requesting that he teach her to fight, he simply laughed. However, he did say that he would offer a challenge to her. If she could survive two minutes against him, he would give her all the knowledge he knew when it came to fighting.

Unaware of what his challenge entailed, she agreed. Once the timer started, she was immediately engaged in a battle with the demon lord. For nearly a minute and a half, she was running - scared for her life as he swiped his chained scythe at her, many of them being near misses.

As the last thirty seconds ticked, she noticed how low the chain for his scythe was to the ground. Thinking quick, she took the chain into her hand and pulled his weapon out of his hands. Gripping his weapon tightly, she manages to back him into a corner - his own scythe pressed against his throat. With the time up, Astaroth reluctantly admitted defeat. Pushing her away, he crafted a blade that could steal life.

During the whole process, he lamented how he was defeated by a woman, the Queen of Hell, no less. There were a few muttered slurs noted, which Lilith took full offense to as she was nursing a knee injury during one of her tumbles from running.

Once the blade was finished, she took hold of the blade and ran the demon through. His soul was absorbed into the blade, now giving it the vibrant crimson glow it now has.

Afterwards, Lilith teleported herself to the Sloth Ring, needing to recuperate. Thankfully she was close with Belphie and she covered her rear by letting Lucifer know that she was visiting Sloth for a few days and would be back in no time.

Once she was healed, she listened to his voice coming from the blade and learned how to defend herself. There hasn't been a need for her to use the blade for a while but she is willing to use it if she must.

~Anyone who holds the blade will hear the voice of Astaroth in their head. He will encourage bloodshed and death.

~Angels who hold it are tempted to corruption with words of doubt and will question their bonds with loved ones

Also, another one of my dino-swaps. Therizinosaurus!Solon and Fern. it works because: -Dinosaur that actually exists -Therizinosaurus was considered the ground sloth of the cretaceous, Smilodon (though swapped out for Allosaurus) hunted ground sloths

-Fern with a scythe and stabbing things would be funny as fuck -STILL HAS FEATHERS -the sheer size of it would honestly make Solon funnier purely because she is so huge.

it is a pretty dinosaur. I think Solon looking like that would be kinda cool. She looks like grass. I wonder if she would feel soft.

Paresse watched with only a touch more than passive observation, as Mizho trained.

The rapid thump-thud of her shins against the dummies and the crack-snap of her cane, too.

He shifted his weight. She was a little off-beat. Rusty. Muscle memory that still needs to be fine tuned.

She pushes herself too hard. She nearly falls over when her adrenaline fades. He has to carry her back to her bedroom and bandage the places where sharp shinbone broke through fragile, young skin.

She regards the gentle and intimate actions with impassive boredom, but he sees the way her shoulders relax just a bit.

Paresse smiles to himself where she can't see it. He's so glad to have found her again. And he thinks she's happy to see him again, too.

She's different. Younger, a bit more filled out, more fragile. But it's her. She says she doesn't care what he calls her. And sometimes 'lieutenant' slips out without thinking. But he thinks 'she' fits her quite nicely.

It's not something he would have thought of if asked nearly a hundred years ago. He would have said survival suited Michel's face best. He wouldn't have tolerated the thought of his master carefully sliding eyeliner onto her eyes, even after remembering who she was. It wasn't a matter of keeping up a mask or trying to be someone she wasn't. Michel... Mizho... she wouldn't bother putting in that kind of effort for any reason other than her own satisfaction. She genuinely seemed pleased with herself when she got it right.

Though she has a terrible limp for a few days, and eventually has to get crutches, she keeps going. The crutches become her new rifle, and eventually her scythe. After a year, she brandishes them as lethally as a sword.

She still goes too hard training, but she always did.

After Vice's return, after their first full meeting, she sits in silence with him in her bedroom. Her on her bed, him on his usual place on the floor. She asks him if he still thinks she's the same person.

He never even considered she would be uncertain about that. Of course she is. Life's just easier now.

Even if she wears skirts and paints her nails? Even if she writes with a pink pen and dots her kanji with little skulls and hearts? Things that she never could have known she would have liked before.

He just nods. She's his master, she's still the same brutal and deadly person she was. She just gets to kick-box with a skirt that twirls pretty when she breaks a man's nose.

She gnaws on the lollipop in her mouth and sits up. She's looking at his lap. And she makes a brief comment about it being cold. It's a lie. He knows it's a lie. He leans back and moves his arms out of the way for her to come sit there, like she used to.

He marvels to himself, internally, at how small she is now. But he dares not say anything, wrapping his arms around her and setting his chin on her head. It's a little tighter of a curl than he would admit out loud. But he knew she'd also never admit to pressing into it.

They are sloth. Apathy. They do nothing that doesn't benefit them, they care for no one but themselves, they do only what they please. Perhaps it makes them weaker as an evil douji-master pair to care for one another. Perhaps it's foolish to run his fingers through her hair and whisper how much he missed her.

But he doesn't care.

That's what makes him what he is.

Sometimes I wonder why the world is so cruel. People hate each other, tear each other down and some, yes some, send others into death’s scythe for their “ideology”, for their “money” and more often than not - for “power” - a never ending pursuit.

Being privileged enough or rather, still privileged enough, to write this, pains me. Being able to read and to write are truly some of the most invisible acquirements we should be grateful for. Access to a web of infinite possibilities, opportunities, dangers and people is a gift many can’t afford. People who can read and write don’t all share my ability to move through open doors. Not because of their character or because of a lack of knowledge, but because of their circumstances rendering them unable to move. Their doors are closed and the key is in the hands of the others.

We are back, closer than I hoped that we would be. We are back at the edge of a cliff. The cliff of unbridled greed, ignorance and fear. Fear of the other. Ignorance of the other. Greed for sloth. Greed for power. Greed to always feel prideful. Greed for power. Greed for wealth. Greed for hate. Everything is rotting in front of our eyes into a form of greed. Apparently, once the apple is bitten there is little that keeps it from rotting.

It is a new era. It is only a new era if you ignore the filth of the past. Is it a new era? Will there be a new era? Was there ever a new era? So many questions worthy of selling the world for. Some, I’ve heard, are already selling it. Not for those questions though. They’re selling it for oil, territory or maybe just for an upper hand. I wouldn’t know. Would you?

We like to imagine that there are these all too powerful forces leading us throughout life and towards death. We want to imagine that most of them want to harm us. We want to imagine that most of them want to help us - save us even. We want to imagine that they’re so powerful that we’re powerless. They don’t want us to imagine that. They want us to do something more sinister. They want us to believe that. The powerful few we accept to have power.

We let concepts dictate our lives, which allows our lives to become mere concepts. Ideology, belief, faith, hope and disdain all have things in common. They fear the rats who realize that. Those are those who rat poison is for and we’re constantly watching it happen as if we aren’t rats ourselves.
