SCW3 PROMPT REVEAL

Prompt voting is now closed, and prompts for the third SuperCat Week have been chosen! Below are the prompts for this event, running from April 16th through April 23rd.

Day 1 - Sunday, April 16 - Abilities; being near your soulmate gives you abilities/takes away abilities (e.g., healing injuries, immortality, powers, etc.)

Day 2 - Monday, April 17 - Dreams; anything involving dreams (e.g., visions, alternate worlds, Black Mercy, etc.)

Day 3 - Tuesday, April 18 - Feelings; whatever emotions your soulmate feels, you also feel (or the opposite)

Day 4 - Wednesday, April 19 - Red String of Fate; where a string tied to you leads you to the person(s) you’re destined to

Day 5  - Thursday,  April 20 - Distance; anything involving distance (e.g., compasses, pain with distance, etc.)

Day 6 - Friday,  April 21 - Dating Agency; either Kara or Cat runs an agency that tracks and matches soulmates 

Day 7 - Saturday,  April 22 - Eyes; anything involving eyes (and other physical features) (e.g., color change, etc.)

Day 8 - Sunday, April 23 - Creator’s Choice; any fic written involving soulmates and SuperCat is accepted

You are now welcome to start working on your creations. Please remember that while you are welcome to work on/finish them early, you may not post until the appropriate day. SCW3  PROMPT VOTING | MARCH 5 - MARCH 11

Prompt suggestions are now officially closed, and prompt voting has begun! Voting will be open until March 11. You may vote for up to seven prompts by selecting your choices on this poll. If you submitted suggestions, you may vote, and you may vote for your own suggestion(s).

Below are the prompts that have been suggested. Some suggestions were excluded if they didn’t fit the theme of Soulmates, were extremely specific, or were potentially harmful. All other suggestions were included, but I did combine a few that were pretty similar. That being said, there is still quite a bit of overlap, so when our prompts are chosen I will do my best to phrase the winning prompt as inclusively as possible to maximize our ranges.

There is a short description of each prompt below the cut, but remember that you are welcome to interpret a prompt however you like for the event (so if the definition doesn’t spark you but the word does, feel free to go with it!).

SUGGESTED PROMPTS

Abilities; being near your soulmate gives you abilities/takes away abilities (e.g., healing injuries, immortality, powers, etc.)

Affairs; in which both soulmates are unable to be together in some way but they get together anyways (e.g. married, dead/ghost, human/alien, politics, etc.)

Color; anything involving color (e.g., seeing color when they meet, not seeing soulmate’s eye color, give up color to be with soulmate, etc.)

Dating Agency; either Kara or Cat runs an agency that tracks and matches soulmates 

Distance; anything involving distance (e.g., compasses, pain with distance, etc.)

Dreams; anything involving dreams (e.g., visions, alternate worlds, Black Mercy, etc.)

Eyes; anything involving eyes (and other physical features) (e.g., color change, etc.)

Feelings: whatever emotions your soulmate feels, you also feel (or the opposite)

Multiple Soulmates; either Kara or Cat have multiple soulmates and they both have to make a choice 

Multiverse; in which Kara and Cat are soulmates in all universes (or not)

Name; anything involving names (e.g., hearing them say your name, seeing them write your name, name tattoed, etc.)

No Soulmates; neither Kara nor Cat have soulmates

Red String of Fate; where a string tied to you leads you to the people

Reincarnation; you and your soulmate are always reincarnated (e.g., someone has to remember and the other forgets, ghosts, afterlife, etc)

Scars; you have the same scars as your soulmate 

Tattoos; anything involving a soulmark, etc. (e.g., first words, last words, name until they stop loving you, etc.)

Time/Countdown; anything involving a countdown of some sort (e.g., till you meet, till you fall in love, till you fall out of love, etc.)

Touch; anything involving touch (e.g., when you first kiss, when you touch their hand, etc.)

SCW3 PROMPT SUGGESTIONS | FEB 26 - MARCH 4

Theme voting is now officially closed and prompt voting is open! By popular demand, our theme for the SuperCat Week 3 has been chosen, and it is Soulmates.

The submission box is open once again, and I’ll be accepting prompt submissions from today, February 26, until March 4. If you would like to participate and have any concerns, please contact me.

Before submitting your prompt(s) in the submission box, please read the following guidelines:

Anyone may submit prompt suggestions. If you do not have a tumblr account/cannot submit for any reason, please visit the ask box and leave your suggestion(s) there.

There is no limit on number of prompts you may submit. You may submit them to the submission box or the ask box. You may submit multiple prompt suggestions in one entry, or in multiple entries, whichever is easier.

Prompts should be relatively short; the most effective prompts should be as short as you can think of, such as ‘colors’, ‘soulmarks’, ‘first words’, etc. 

However, feel free to give a longer explanation of your prompt if you feel you can’t communicate your submission in just a few words.

Prompts must fit the current theme of SuperCat Week 3: Soulmates. This may include other theme suggestions that did not win (such as different jobs, kara arriving on time, different time periods, etc.) if the topic qualifies.

Submissions will be open until March 4.

While you are free to submit anything you like, no harmful/offensive/discriminatory suggestions will be posted. If you are unsure if your suggestion is appropriate, feel free to ask.

SCW3 THEME VOTING | FEB 19 - 25

The votes for the event dates have been tallied and SuperCat Week 3 will be held on April 16 through April 22. That gives five weeks to prepare for the week once the prompts our given and without further ado, theme voting has begun. 

Theme suggestions are now officially closed, and its time to vote for your favorite theme!

Starting now, February 19, until February 25, vote for your favorite theme out of the list themes suggested. Below the cut are the themes (with a description as well as examples of prompts from the theme) and other important information about voting.

Voting is open to everyone, but please only vote once. Please also keep in mind that only one can win and that you are voting for theme, not prompt. This means we will need to break the winning theme down into 7 smaller prompts. Once our theme is chosen, I will open the ask and submission boxes for prompt suggestions, and any prompts fitting the chosen theme can be submitted.

Please note, you may not see your suggestion exactly as you sent it; there were a number of very similar suggestions or very specific suggestions that I combined to make the most simple and clean list possible.

SUGGESTED THEMES

Alien Accidents; prompts focusing on different mishaps and incidents of magical or alien properties (e.g., world jumping, Cadmus, martian madness, kryptonian intoxication, mxyzptlk, etc.)

College; prompts focusing on a time when Kara and/or Cat were in college (eg., both in college as students, bartender!Kara and teacher!cat, Kara at college and joining the Daily Planet, etc.) 

Cross Overs; prompts focusing on crossovers with other shows, movies, books, etc. (e.g., Kara and Cat in the Buffy universe, Kara and Cat working in Warehouse 13, Kara and Cat meeting Miranda and Andy, etc.) 

Different Jobs; prompts focusing on different jobs Kara and/or Cat could/do have (e.g., firefighter AU, medical/medicine AU, spy AU, etc.).

Family; prompts focusing on family/domesticity (e.g., Danvers sisters + love interests, SuperCat + Carter, etc.)

Genres; each day is a different genre (e.g., action/adventure, romcom, horror/thriller, sci-fi, etc.)

History; prompts focusing on aspects of history (e.g., Kryptonian lore, the Dark Ages, etc.)

Kara Arrives On Time; prompts focusing on if Kara had arrived to Earth on time (e.g., she becomes childhood friends with Cat, she raises Kal-El, she starts her own company, etc.)

Kryptonite; prompts focusing on kryptonites of all types and either the affect on Kara or Kara and Cat’s relationship (e.g., pink kryptonite, red kryptonite, x kryptonite, etc.)

Movie/TV/Book Plot; Kara and Cat in different movie/tv/book plots (e.g., Sleepless in Seattle, Academy Award winning movies, horror film, etc.)

Myths and Legends; prompts focusing on aspects or stories of mythology or famous legends (e.g., Kryptonian mythology,   Greek/Roman/Norse/Egyptian mythology, gods and goddesses, etc.).

Random; no theme - the prompts can be any prompts

Seven Deadly Sins; Prompts where the theme is one of the seven deadly sins. (e.g., Lust, Wrath, Pride, etc.)

Soulmates; prompts focusing on Kara and Cat being soulmates (or not) (eg., colors, tattoo, first words/last words, timer, no soulmates, red string of fate,etc.)

Supernatural; prompts focusing on the supernatural (e.g., demons and angels, werewolves, haunted houses, magical transformation, etc.).

Time Periods; prompts focusing on aspects of history and historical AUs (e.g., 1920s, medieval, Victorian Era, etc.)

Time (and Space) Travel; prompts focusing on time travel/world jumping (e.g., born in different eras, living on different planets, soulmates on different universes, etc.)

Unrequited; prompts focusing on unrequited love (e.g., the one that got away, Cat interrupts Kara’s wedding, Supergirl flies Cat out of a date, etc.)

Video Games; prompts based off of video games (eg., Skyrim, World of Warcraft, Mario Kart, etc.)

What If?; a series of scenarios (e.g., what if someone had never left, what if Kara was left in charge of CatCo, etc.)

SuperCat Week Three: Coming Soon

SCW 3 EVENT DATE VOTING & THEME SUGGESTIONS | FEB 12 - FEB 18

Today marks the beginning of the voting and planning period for SCW 3. Starting today, February 12th, until February 18th, you can sign up and start casting your votes for the dates of the third SuperCat Week.

Here is the link to vote! This year things are going to be a little different with the voting process - a sign up is attached to this but it’s only to see who exactly is participating for the week and to gauge the amount of prep time given for everyone to get their works done.

With the chosen weeks, you’ll be given a fair amount of time to work with the given prompts, with the time of preparation ranging from 1 week to 6 weeks as well as an “other” option.

The submission box is also officially open for you to begin submitting your theme suggestions.

Anyone is allowed to suggest themes, and you may either drop your suggestion in the submission box (if you have a longer list or a long explanation, this is recommended), or in the ask box (anon is on, so if you don’t have a tumblr account you can still participate).

To clarify what exactly qualifies as a theme:

While a more general idea such as “random” or “alien accidents” is ideal, it’s really up to you. Any theme works, just remember, the prompts will be tailored to the theme, so the more general the theme, the easier it will be to prompt in a week. Also, please avoid repeating any themes already used in previous events.

If you are really unsure about the theme you’d like to submit, feel free to add a note after your submission, and I can contact you to discuss it, if need be.

While you are free to submit anything you like, no harmful or offensive suggestions will be accepted. If you are unsure if your suggestion is appropriate, please feel free to ask.
