I am an artist (part 2 of 2) Years later I’m walking around Boston and I see this really cool sculpture by an artist on the street of Newbury (shotout to The Slab) and I’m fascinated by it, after talking for a while with the artist he shares that he used a “Munny” as a base for his character. I went to the store the same day and bought myself a DIY base, a Munny. This got me going, it took some time to remember those skills, but surely enough, the more I did something, the more I remember doing it already, like I would think “how can I make this character with curly hair… oh yeah, just use a colander like you use to and you’re good” of course add to this years of becoming the artist I am today, I wasn’t just picking up sculpting after years of not creative outlet, I had been very creative the entire time, so it was the right moment to engage in it. I believe I have an addictive personality, I normally find something cool and I want to do it all the time (look at skateboarding :P) and when I got this energy I went all out on sculpting, probably a good year or two of sculpting, this is how some of my early followers found me, through sculpting, and I thank all of those that have stuck around, I know it looks like i don’t sculpt, that is all illustrations and skateboarding, but this is forever a part of me, and I go through stages where I reengage, the Mr. White Cell tournament was one of those sparks. I did some art, will continue to do more #newyearsameme #art2019 I had so much fun being creative and doing my thing. Painted murals, live painted, started working with spray paints, sculpted more this year than the last 4 (not all shown), made over 20 stickers throughout the year, made enamel pins, painted canvases for galleries and art shows, finished 31 ink drawings for the 4th year in a row, had some fun doing digital illustrations, designed over 10 shirts, made my first hats, drank and inked a lot but not exclusively, I also sketched at a party 😜 and did it all with a giant smile on my face. The thing I like about these roundups is to see how much I really did.
