Seemed like a good idea at the time- until I had to take a bloody picture...

So, I tried to create something new, and made my own Scraper Foil picture.

Started with a Wax Crayon base, covered it with Black Acrylic paint, and had at it with a pen nib.

I probably won't do this again, as it didn't come out very well.

Winchester library exhibition - Olly Moss

Olly Moss’s work is really simple yet clever and that’s what I like about it. The posters containing little and important details that add to the thought and consideration behind them. Using limited palettes with some posters lets you focus on the specific silhouettes of some figures to see the little details as well as keeping the poster feeling like a single entity. The styles varied with a few of them and I liked that there was variety in his style with some parts seeming very digital art whereas others incorporate traditional methods as well.

In future projects I might actually consider using Olly Moss as inspiration as his posters are very pleasing to me with their details and thought behind it. Exploring simple colour palettes could be a good experience too and perhaps maybe very different media as his Howl’s Moving Castle poster looks almost like its done on scraperfoil, the positive and negative space really effective for the poster.

Couldn't decide which would look better so did both. Took SO freaking long for me 😞 but hopefully worth it.
