Scp fact: the state of Massachusetts is an SCP

Let me tell you about a great and funny SCP: SCP-4006, A.K.A The entire estate of Massachusetts. Basically the area of Massachusetts has been uninhabited during the entire history of America but due to a series of mundane but ridiculously improbable casualties, people has though Massachusetts is an state with a population. This includes people who think they are in a city on Massachusetts, but actually are in a city in another state only ever talking about it with other people that also think they are in the same city in Massachusetts. For some reason some foundation personell were immune to this effect and decided to use this area of probability concealment to their advantage, building important facilities in the area. Eventually building more and more infrastructure, following the widespread imaginary Massachusetts maps, until actual civilians start moving into it, eventually creating the actual State of Massachusetts.

I would have expected this behavior from OHIO but Massachusetts?

scp-4006 is funny as fuck to me because “People believing themselves to be visiting any city in Massachusetts (such as Boston) will actually be in any number of other cities near Massachusetts. Such cities include New York City, Philadelphia, Buffalo, and Pittsburgh”

what the fuck do you mean pittsburgh is near boston. it’s a ten hour drive babe. you can just name like… providence and. in hindsight there aren’t many other big cities in new england

when i was first getting into the scp fandom way back in the month of ????? 2020 i decided to make a list of scps in my notebook but instead of listing them by number i decided to list them by describing them in the most boring way possible and failing (by the way time isn’t real every single day feels like two seconds ago and two years ago at the same time i don’t even remember when i started this blog much less when i made this list).

notable list entries: -donald trump -massachusetts -ikea -captain crunch’s peanut fursona -glados except male -your uncle who is a war criminal -origami dragons that will make you sad -memes created by a bunch of losers on discord and 4chan -a swim in a lake with family and friends that is also somehow exactly a recurring nightmare that i’ve had since i was 8 and no i am not elaborating it is terrifying and i’d rather not think of it -me

anyway the reason i am writing this is because i ended the list with “not funny. cried.” and i do not remember what scp i was trying to describe at all (thought it was the paper dragons, but no i had already done the paper dragons) so we may never know what i was trying to say.
