thinking about d-class in the scp foundation. you’re doomed from the beginning. no amount of intellect or skill will help you in the face of world-ending horrors, and the people around you who do know what they’re doing won’t care to save you unless it benefits them. you’re treated as expendable, even less of a person than a canary in the coal mine. and because of what? because you did something—something unforgivable, presumably. whether or not you had a good reason, if you regretted it or if you’d do it all over again if you got the chance, the foundation doesn’t care, it offered you a second chance all the same. you were going to die anyways, you thought, might as well take a chance. you should have known there were fates worse than death.
since taking that deal, you’ve had your name stolen from you. probably not in the anomalous sense unless you’re one of the unlucky ones, but they’ve replaced it with a serial number that’s long, unwieldy, and dehumanizing. it’s easier for them to condemn you to horrors beyond imagination if they never have to know your name, if they never have to acknowledge that you are (were?) a human being with thoughts and feelings. oftentimes the things these people do in the name of the “greater good” are even worse than whatever you did to get in this situation in the first place, but that never stops them from calling themselves humanity’s saviors while using you as a lab rat. they will stop at nothing to secure, contain, protect, and you will be caught in the crossfire.
will they even let you out if you somehow survive? how long have you really been here?

well i had a tumblr error so I'm going to copy and paste the ask
wlwdwtys asked:
(Potentially) Daily ask №4
Tommy edition!
How did he become a collected? You don't gotta say if it's way too major spoilers
If he was given the opportunity to get rid of the Red permanently, would he? What if that meant that some random child in the world got the Red instead? Would his choice change?
How old is he?
His opinion on SCP 053? That one 3 year old girl physical contact with whom causes the person to become aggressive towards her but die moments after harming her, from a heart attack? She's kind of the opposite to his powers, isn't she?
BOOM I have brought a golden bracelet that allows to turn the red on and off at will. With just the intention to, basically. Now he can hug whoever he wants with little repercussions. Also, eat your vegetables, Tommy Innit.
-------------------------------------
Not spoilers at all. Tommy and Philza’s first encounter consisted initially of Philza threatening to caramelize him till he was but naught a stain upon the earth all shuddered to remember etc etc. In Phil’s defense he thought the phone call was a hostage negotiation for his teleported mentee. After reunion with The Blade, Philza’s opinion about the summoning thing was that it was a power not in good hands, given teen Tommy was a twit, but at least non malicious ones. He figured it was best to be on good terms with Tommy given The Blade’s safety was on the line. Tommy naturally had a whole normal life going on and wasn’t exactly going to drop it to be with them 24/7, which Phil thought reasonable despite his security problem. Tommy started visiting them and bringing food (and his mum at first, who wasn’t pleased her kid was hanging around with homeless men but also recognized they had experience with powers that she couldn’t help Tommy with). Tommy was in desperate need of any sort of guidance given he was grappling with suddenly not being human anymore. Poor idiot thought he was in a different genre and mistook the anomalies for a band of superpowered vigilantes. The trio tried to tone everything down for him, make life on the run seem thrilling and not deadly, hide the bodies before he came to visit, etc. Everything just seems safer and lighter when Tommy was around. Philza became fond of the bright eyed ball of energy, and after months realized ‘oh muffin I want to Collect him.’ At which point Wilbur and The Blade traded money in the background. It was more efficient that way anyway, since The Blade wouldn’t be summoned if Tommy was safe so might as well protect him. Not sure what his long term plan was since mother innit would’ve had his hide if he suggested Tommy take up being a homeless nomad instead of going to college, but the Foundation captured Tommy before anything so I suppose it doesn’t matter much. Tommy’s initial reaction to being asked about Collection was “huh? But I already have a dad.”
Tommy would get rid of his Red in a heartbeat. It’s a curse to him, a large source of his trauma, and the reason the Foundation oppresses him. If someone else would get it… he’d still give it up. He’s not above selfishness. And honestly it still might be a better outcome since the new person wouldn’t be traumatized by their own power in a way that makes it far more dangerous and difficult to live with. Frankly if it wasn’t a trigger for him Tommy could very well touch people just fine since its effects are proportional to his panic.
Now that is a spoiler. But he was captured when in the late 15 area, and had a party with Tubbo and Rosalind for his 17th while in the Foundation. They were guessing tho, since it’s hard to keep track of time and so it didn’t really take place on the 10th of April, if I’m remembering Tommy’s birthday right. And since the clues are in Fault and at least a few commenters have figured it out: Tommy is actually 21, and everyone was in the Foundation for 5 years. The Blade is the only one who knows this due to his infrequent escapes. Due to a lack of typical developmental milestones such as graduation, moving out of his parents house (in a normal and safe way), etc Tommy still acts like a teenager. People well into adult hood like Rosalind, Rhodes, etc register him as a kid because of that immaturity. Philza doesn’t judge mortal ages well, Wilbur has no frame of reference and is always taller even when Tommy grows, and everyone is teeny tiny to The Blade. Tubbo was initially pretty shocked given how tall Tommy is, but Rhodes skewed the frame of reference. Plus, then Tommy opened his mouth.
In his role as a research tool, it’s possible Tommy’s encountered her, since the Foundation would want to know if she has powers outside of the touch thing. When ordered not to touch the kid, he laughed humorously. Likely he dripped some Red on her and then sat in the corner while the kid attacked the D-class. He was grateful about the heart attack part, far easier for them to just drop dead rather than watch a baby try to rip em apart. He’d probably try to comfort her after, and would have some degree of success given a scene where he calmed a hysterical Jasmine (5) and the number of instances helping Tubbo through the trauma of the Foundation. It’s helped but the fact 053 isn’t really affected by the attacks, but he would lose points for inadvertently suggesting some of his own ill advised coping mechanisms or convictions. I don’t think her anomalous affect would target him while the Red was active, so he might draw little pictures on the floor for her with Red while janitors took care of the body.
Tubbo has to carry around Tommy for days since he’s in full koala bear mode. They don’t mind but also they don’t have very high stamina due to how many bees they’ve lost. Wilbur would also get a lot of physical affection, and for once wouldn’t be a cagey tsundere about it. There’d be hesitation at first, of course, still instinctively demuring from contact and holding himself back, but that would fade into only subconscious, infrequent moments Tommy would be almost always touching someone, an arm slung over shoulders, a hand hooked in the crook of an elbow, leaning and pressing and starving.
He’d never turn it back on.

Shoving the Phantasmagoria Duo into the SCP foundation >:3
Item #: SCP-1029 Object Class: Safe Special Containment Procedures: SCP-1029 is to be kept in a reinforced glass display case within a secure containment chamber at Site-221. Access to SCP-1029 requires Level 2 clearance and authorization from at least one Level 3 researcher. The containment chamber is to be monitored at all times via surveillance cameras. Testing involving SCP-1029 must be approved by the Site Director and conducted in a controlled environment. Description: SCP-1029 is a sentient orchid flower resembling a wooden staff. At the apex of the staff is a single eye, which exhibits movements consistent with those of a human eye. The staff measures approximately 1.5 metres in length. SCP-1029 displays several anomalous properties:
Healing: SCP-1029 has the ability to heal any physical wound or injury inflicted upon a living being. The extent of its healing capabilities surpasses conventional medical treatment, demonstrating near-instantaneous regeneration of tissue and loss of limbs. It has yet to be tested whether or not SCP-1029 can bring back a subject who is on the brink of death.
Compulsion: One of SCP-1029 most notable effects is its compulsion to compel truthfulness in individuals who hold it. Subjects holding SCP-1029 report an overwhelming urge to speak only the truth, often confessing thoughts or feelings they would otherwise keep hidden. This effect persists until the staff is released. Attempts to deceive while holding SCP-1029 result in discomfort or pain for the subject. Many resisted the idea of even attempting to lie while under the influence of SCP-1029 due to finding the thought “nauseating” and “disturbing”.
Sentience: SCP-1029 displays signs of sentience, exhibiting awareness of its surroundings and reacting to stimuli in its vicinity. Additionally, SCP-1029 demonstrates a degree of control over its anomalous properties, selectively activating its effects based on the intentions of those interacting with it.
Magic: SCP-1029 showcases additional unexplainable ‘magical’ properties, including the ability to emit a soft, soothing light and to create a shield. It has been observed to manifest minor telekinetic effects, such as moving objects within its vicinity. Testing is still being done to see what else SCP-1029 can do.
However, if SCP-1029 is used to intentionally harm another being, the item exhibits signs of distress. The eye appears to express sorrow or disappointment and SCP-1029 emits a faint sad chiming or bell noise. Continued misuse of SCP-1029 results in heightened emotional distress, with the staff actively resisting attempts to use it for harmful purposes. SCP-1029 has been in existence for an indeterminate amount of time, with historical records dating back several centuries and the ancient ruins by the ████████ Forest that it was found in being theorised to be perhaps even older. Dr. ██████ believes that SCP-1029 is related to [DATA EXPUNGED] Occasionally, certain individuals are able to perceive a faint apparition holding SCP-1029, adorned with a golden crown. This phenomenon occurs sporadically and seemingly at random, with no discernible pattern or trigger. Individuals who experience these sightings report feelings of warmth, safety, and tranquillity. This figure has been named SCP-1029-1 Addendum 1029-1: SCP-1029 exhibits the ability to influence the wielder’s mental state, as during a recent test where the previously aggressive subject was asked to hold SCP-1029 for a prolonged period of time, the subject’s behaviour was recorded to slowly become abnormally passive. SCP-1029 was removed from the subject before the test could further continue, and we are waiting for further instructions. Addendum 1029-1: Other SCPs are more capable of seeing SCP-1029-1 than regular people. Further testing is required to see if subjects undergoing anomalous effects are able to see SCP-1029-1.
Name: Dr.Phantasmagoria (SCP-1067)
Occupation: Senior Researcher (Level 3) Part of the Antimemetics Division
Current Status: Phantas is currently kept within Site-221 after being transferred from the Antimemetics Division by [REDACTED] due to [DATA EXPUNGED]. Phantas's eccentric demeanour and unconventional methods contribute to his effectiveness in handling anomalies. However, his propensity for unorthodox approaches requires additional oversight to ensure compliance with Foundation protocols and containment standards.
Special Considerations: Phantas's status as SCP-1067 introduces unique containment challenges, as his anomalous properties render others susceptible to antimeme and amnestics symptoms. Despite having been deemed safe and having dedicated a long period of time working as a researcher within the SCP Foundation, regular monthly evaluations are essential to mitigate potential security breaches and safeguard sensitive information both for Phantas and those who come in regular contact with him.
Additional Notes: Phantas must undergo regular psychological evaluations to ensure his mental stability and resistance to anomalous influences.
He will never be allowed to receive a higher clearance level.

Note
The SCP foundation, along with most webcomics, regular comics, youtube-reviewer "universes", and even some long-running cartoons, demonstrates that any fictional universe allowed to grow unchecked eventually turns into some sprawling metaphysical epic about the nature of reality itself. Whether this is the evolving-a-perfect-being kind of unchecked growth or the cancer kind depends on the reader.
There's more than 8000 of the things it can easily be both at once

Scp x Captain Marvel
(Why? Because i am going feral for this idea. I am crawling up the walls. Foaming at the mouth. If i could write fics, THIS would be the one, but since i can't, i'll just write this long idea)
Billy (in cap form) is sent into a portal when fighting an magical villain who was attacking Fawcett. The portal leads him to another dimension, where he lands on a populated area. Phones are drawn, videos are taken.
Billy gets nervous. Where was he? Why are people recording him? This for sure isn't Fawcett or anywhere near, judging by their amazed and scared faces.
Billy flies down to the crowd to try and reassure them that everything's fine, but as he lands, the crowd scatters away. Billy didn't think it would be nice to follow them, so he left it at that and flew off, exploring this small city he ended up in.
After a good while of just flying around, he decides enough's enough and goes down to a place he deemed "safe" and de-transforms back to his human form.
What Billy didn't see was a camera on the other side of the road, that saw what looked like an flying man land on an alley, and proceeding to be struck by lighting after yelling 'SHAZAM!' (that surged out of nowhere in broad daylight and in a clear sky), after which a small child comes out of said alley, no sign if the man was ever present.
The SCP foudation executives catch wind of this "Flying man" and quickly get up to capture him, seeing the videos circulating around Social media (and deleting them, not to cause more panic) to locate where exactly it is.
They narrow it down to a small city and dispatch a MTF squad to find the child, now nicknamed SCP-6514-1, contain it, and bring it back to the foundation for further inspection.
As nightfall came, Billy was searching a place where he could sleep safely. This new world didn't seem to have heroes (or, as far as he'd seen) but crime might still be big.
When he left yet another building he thought was safe (an abandoned parking lot didn't seem that welcoming if it rained), he heard footsteps. Multiple footsteps, loud against the pavement.
Billy heart started beating faster, but before he could even think of looking back, an dart shot out from behind him, hitting his arm. Billy instantly felt different- sleepy, drowzy, just, not good, as various masked and armed people came out of his surroundings and picked him up, leading to some sort of car or van (Billy couldn't really tell, he was too busy trying to keep awake.)
When he woke up, he was muzzled. It was not tight enough to hurt, but tight enough he couldn't let a single word out.
He scratched at it to try to get it off to no avail, and just as he was about to give up, the door to the room he was trapped in opened, with the same men who captured him escorting him back to another room- this one being fully white, and being separated by some kind of reinforced glass. He was brought to to one side of the room, and another person awaited on the other side. A nametag on his lab coat reads “Dr. Peter S.”
Dr. Peter: “Hello, SCP-6514-1.”
The man said, getting a note book and a pencil and giving it to Billy,
Dr. Peter: “We would like if you'd answer some of our questions. We assure you, you won't be harmed in any way unless you attack us first and we see the need of self-defense.”
Billy: “...”
Dr. Peter: “I'll take that as an 'yes'. Now, what are your powers?”
Billy, writing down in his note book: “Why would i tell you? You just kidnapped me!”
Dr. Peter: “Well, you see, you are an anomaly. You came out of nowhere, causing mass panic, demonstrating supernatural powers above any normal human's. Could you see how that's a cause for concern, 6514?”
Billy, a bit annoyed at the nickname: “I can see how that would be weird, but not weird enough to kidnap me over! And what's with the numbers?”
Dr. Peter: “The numbers are simply for identitication's sake. And for any intends and purposes, you could pose a threat to humanity, so i find it's enough to capture you over.”
Billy: “Threat to humanity? But i'm just a normal boy!”
Dr. Peter: “How come?”
Billy: “i'm the Whiz kid! I work for the radio!”
Dr. Peter, writing this all down: “Uh huh. I see how you can be an 'normal child', but what about 6514-2, your flying-thunder summoning counterpart?”
Billy, frozen at the mention of marvel: “..I don't know what you're talking about.”
Dr. Peter: “6514, we saw it. It's why we captured you. There's no need to try and say you don't know.”
Billy, with a defeated look: “That's Captain Marvel. A superhero.”
Dr. Peter, with an eyebrow raised, obviously doubting it, yet still writing it down: “Uh huh..? And what exactly does he do?”
Billy: “i save people. I defeat villains. It's what heroes do, isn't it?”
Dr. Peter: “Yeah, i'd think so. But tell me, what is a child like you doing as an superhero? Shouldn't you be at school?”
Billy, writing something and scribbling over it trying to find the right words: “I can't go to school.”
Dr. Peter: “Okay. Well, where did you live, then?”
Billy: “I lived in Fawcett city. You know, the magic one?”
Dr. Peter, writing down stuff: “i never heard of it, and i'm pretty sure there aren't magic cities.”
Billy, a bit upset: “Look, i was just fighting a villain and a portal i accidentaly fell into put me here! I just wanna go home!”
Dr. Peter: “And home is Fawcett?”
Billy: “No, no! Away from here, anywhere but here! I don't want to be here, everyone should be so worried! And i'll not be there for the people i swore to protect!”
Dr. Peter, with a small worried look, collects all his stuff and gets up, looking at the MTF guards on stand by: “I think we've done enough today. Bring 6514-1 back, he's too emotionally charged right now. Besides, we've already got a lot of information.”
As he heads out to leave, Billy knocks on the glass and puts up the notebook.
Billy: “Could i keep the notebook?”
Dr. Peter, thinking it over, since it is a small decision but if anything goes haywire he would be to blame: “hmm.. okay.”
/////
Billy curls up in the first cell he was brought back to, thinking about ways to escape and if the justice league will be able to find him.
“Stupid portal.. making me go to some weird place i don't know..”
Billy thinks, as he draws in the small note book and glares at the camera and it's blinking red dot.
Suddenly, the lights go out in his room. Was it night?
Oh well.
He hopes tomorrow the league will already be here. He misses Mary and Freddy.

After reading some responses to the latest Doctor Who, "73 Yards," I realized that a folkloric faerie story might be alien to modern audiences. However, there's a good modern equivalent, and I thought I'd try my hand at putting the story in a more familiar form.
"73 Yards"
Item #: SCP-17347
Clearance Level: 2/Restricted
Object Class: Euclid
Disruption Class: 2/Elam
Risk Class: 3/Warning
Special Containment Procedures: All Foundation personnel are to maintain at least a 32-foot (10 meters) distance from SCP-17347-1 unless necessary to protect civilians, in which case personnel are to use antimemetic ear and eye covering to reduce exposure to her effects. Otherwise, Foundation personnel in the field are forbidden from approaching, interacting with, or acknowledging the existence of the entity in any way. Should this prove unavoidable, personnel are to disable all communication devices to prevent the effect spreading. Any Foundation personnel inadvertently exposed to SCP-17347-1's effects are to be administered class A amnestics and transferred to a different site. Should this fail to relieve symptoms, they are to be offered early retirement with full benefits and disability pay.
Grade C surveillance is to be maintained on SCP-17347-2 with a primary goal of preventing civilian exposure to SCP-17347-1's effects. While SCP-17347-2 will generally avoid being separated from SCP-17347-1, should this occur Foundation assets are to intervene and ensure the 73 yard (67.75 meter) distance is maintained.
Description: SCP-17347-2 is a 21-year-old female Caucasian approximately 5'2" (157 cm) tall, with green eyes and natural brown hair that she prefers to dye blonde. A major identifying feature is a scar on her right eyebrow of unknown origin. Her demeanor is generally cooperative despite signs of psychological trauma related to abandonment. Attempts to gain SCP-17347-2's cooperation should use the subject's given name, "Ruby S█████," while focusing on reassurance that she is not alone and that the Foundation has her best interests at heart.
SCP-17347-1 is an entity of unknown origin, appearing as an elderly female Caucasian with white hair and wearing a long black overcoat. Due to its anomalous properties, it is impossible to form a more precise image of the entity. Methods of indirect observation such as cameras always show the subject with the same resolution as a human eye with 20/20 vision observing the subject from a distance of 73 yards (67.75 meters). Even anomalous means of observation are subject to this effect.
SCP-17347-1 maintains a constant distance of 73 yards (67.75 meters) from -2. Despite having a demonstrable physical presence, she does not appear to move when observed, instead relocating between blinks or lapses in attention. This effect is observable even on recorded video. Objects offer no hindrance, and the entity is able to keep pace with the fastest available Foundation land vehicles.
Attempting to transport SCP-17347-2 via air, sea, or other methods where SCP-17347-1 would theoretically not be able to follow have thus far failed due to anomalous weather activity. The temperature will plummet rapidly and produce out-of-season snowfall, escalating to blizzard conditions, and in one case flash-freezing a portion of the English Channel. The effects abate immediately should efforts to transport SCP-17347-2 cease.
Any attempt to interact with SCP-17347-1, including but not limited to attempts to harm, hinder, communicate with, or describe the entity will trigger her memetic effects, and can spread to secondary subjects nearby or through live audio/visual communication. Anyone subject to these effects will develop an intense antipathy towards SCP-17347-2. In civilians, this most often manifests as fear, but it can take other forms, such as anger, disgust, hurt, and disdain. The particular manifestation appears to matter less than the effect: an immediate and overwhelming desire to completely distance oneself from SCP-17347-2 in the most expedient and thorough way possible, including refusing to enter an establishment she frequents, changing their name and moving to a different country, resigning public positions, and, in one case, self-termination. Amnestics have no effect on this, though they may be administered to affected individuals to reduce psychological trauma associated with past and theoretical future interactions with SCP-17347-2
Testing has concluded that this effect includes indirect and negative means of interaction, with no known limit on range. D-Class subjects proved unwilling to push a button if informed that it would expose SCP-17347-2 to an intense, loud noise, even under threat of termination.
Those affected by SCP-17347-1 will only be able to refer to her in the most vague terms, describing her as "Shaped like she is," or "Looking like she is supposed to." They are unable or unwilling to explain the source of their antipathy, even under extreme duress, with the most common response being, "Ask her," refusing to clarify whether they mean -1 or -2.
At all times, SCP-17347-1 performs a looping series of gestures that appear to be an attempt to communicate in a form of sign language. However, the gestures are either not found in ASL or BSL (American or British Sign Language), or performed so poorly as to be unrecognizable.
Discovery: SCP-17347 came to the Foundation's attention following a failed operation to apprehend SCP-17347-1 by UK paranatural security organization UNIT (Unified Intelligence Taskforce). UNIT director Dr. K███ L█████████-S██████ (Dr. K for brevity) was exposed to the effects during an operation and ordered all information on SCP-17347-2 purged from UNIT databases and her files burned, on grounds of "Wasting precious resources on someone who doesn't f██████ matter)." Embedded agents and spy software were alerted to the purge and managed to save some documents. Official UNIT liaisons attempted to recover the remainder of the documents, but Dr. K vehemently refused and threatened to cut ties between our organization if pressed on the issue, yet she readily accepted amnestics when offered, to "Get her out of my goddamn head forever."
Addendum 1: From recovered documents, SCP-17347-2 appears to be a former associate of PoI-3 ("The Doctor") though what relevance that may have is unknown. -2 has shown reluctance to speak on this subject explaining, "That's when it started. The second time someone abandoned me forever. Not the last, though. Not the last."
PoI-3 has not been sighted since the anomaly began.
Addendum 2: Additional anomalous properties only came t o light during the documentation process. All measurements related to her must be conveyed in Imperial units first, though metric can be provided in parentheses. Also, both entities must be referred to with feminine singular pronouns, even when referring to both of her. Further research into this effect with languages lacking singular feminine pronouns is pending.
(I thought about adding interviews and testing logs, but I think you get the idea, and this had better get me like 500 notes from how much effort I put into it even without that)

Field log: Elliot Manor
Note: The following is an illustration and transcription of audio and video recordings streamed from investigation of ground zero for SCP-468395. Instances of SCP-468395-A will continue to be referred to as Corrupted Security Drones (CSD) despite recent discoveries on their origins as standard drones.
Tumblr media
Michelle: You hear that? behind the door over there, there's two voices talking.
Jordan: Yep. Could be the target. Stay on guard, she has weapons.
Team proceeds to the end of the hallway. Agents get into position in front of the doors and Jordan kicks it open.
Tumblr media
Tessa Elliot: What-
CSD: Yeah NOPE!
Six rapid gunshots are heard and visual feed is disabled. Only one microphone records the following segment.
[04 level clearance required to access full file. Verify clearance level to continue] (Click keep reading)
Tessa Elliot: Wow…uh…okay…you just killed some SCP staff?
No one speaks for 3 seconds.
CSD: Well…yes! They’re hostile and intend to capture us, right?
Tessa Elliot: What happened to the boot licker you described a minute ago?
There is no talking for another 3.5 seconds and the CSD vents air as if to sigh.
Tessa Elliot: Anyway, back to those questions, so [SCP-468395-1-C] wore my skin huh? Is that why my corpse over there looks fresh from the slaughterhouse?
CSD: That’s correct.
Tessa Elliot: And now some gothy lookin' drone ate Cyn’s core and…survived? And has control of the solver now?
CSD: I’m skeptical of the twerp’s success myself.
Tessa Elliot: (chuckling) You keep calling her a twerp but the more you describe this kid the cooler you make her sound.
CSD: You think N is cool, because you’re kind like that.
Tessa Elliot: Psh, nah. He’s pretty cool, especially with the vampire-angel thing going on now.
CSD: Now you’re demonstrating what I just said.
Tessa Elliot: Do you think N would be cooler if he drove a company car?
CSD: On the condition that he'd get an upgrade for his cognitive processor.
Tessa Elliot: Are you sure you'd like that? You'd get competition for employee of the month.
CSD: Not if leadership and being cool are in the criteria.
Both chuckle.
Once again there is no talking for 3 seconds.
CSD: I have questions too.
Tessa Elliot: Oh?
CSD: How do I know I can trust you’re the real Tessa? You could be an anomalous doppleganger, an illusion, or any other type of deceptive SCP.
Tessa Elliot: Huh. (Pause) You got me there. I can’t exactly prove I’m not any of that. I betcha can tell my fingerprints are different, right?
CSD: And your facial structure has slight differences, along with your brain. Oh and I don’t need to scan you to see you’re 4 centimeters shorter than you should be at your alleged age.
Tessa Elliot: Hm. Well that tracks with me being a clone right? And there’s bound to be differences with how fast they grew my body. As for the height uh…I’m not as exactly well fed as I was from before the apocalypse?
CSD: Okay.  Next question: How does a technical genius that's avoiding the foundation think it would be a good idea to go to ground zero?
Tessa Elliot: I kind of wanted to see what was left of my stuff here.
CSD: How is that enough reason to risk all the dangerous-
They pause yet again. This time for 2 seconds. The CSD sighs again.
CSD: You wanted to look at your own corpse didn’t you?
Tessa Elliot: That and see if Dad’s SCP collection is still here.
CSD: …You know what, that passes as Tessa behavior.
Tessa Elliot: Right! Knew you'd come around!
CSD: Next question. You said you're avoiding bunkers since most of them are extensions of SCP-2000 right now and you'd get caught. How do you expect to survive outside of bunkers? What happens if you’re starving and can’t wait out a six-week glass-dust storm to take off your helmet for food or water?
Tessa Elliot: I got my own shelter for that. But I don’t know how much I can tell you about it.

CSD: What? Why? I was completely transparent with you. That’s not-
Tessa Elliot: I kind of….have my own team I’m working with as you’d say? And, I dunno, you said you’re not working for the foundation right now
CSD: Yes but I wasn’t finished-
Tessa Elliot: And we're both different from the last times we saw each other-
CSD: That's true but I still haven't mentioned-
Tessa Elliot: To be blunt I don’t know who your next boss will be but they definitely won’t be friendly to me.
CSD: Yes but please Tessa wait second!
Tessa Elliot: I-alright.
CSD: (Pause) I said I was between employers, but I meant under the previous circumstances. I-it's different now. You're...alive now. Before, you were gone, I had nowhere to apply. Then I read about SCP-2000, and-

CSD: As long as you’re alive, you’ll always be my boss, Tessa. Just, please, if you'll accept my application.
The subjects pause again for 6 seconds.
CSD: Wait shit-

So, I just finished reading through Null Magical Girl (Puella Magi Madoka Magica spinoff novel)
And, I think this is the most batshit insane, yet completely unironic and noncomedic story i've ever consumed in any form. And I'm saying this as a FNaF and Danganronpa fan, as well as an avid consumer of fanfic, of 4th wall breaking stories, of weird illogical slasher movies, and of surrealist content.
Like this isn't comedic or random, and it's not meta at all really save for some analysis on the nature of stories and stuff like that. But...
I don't know how to verbalize it. It's pure philosophical insanity at the level of the most confusing SCP article you can think of x10, in the universe of Madoka Magica (but none of it's characters except Kyubey), with a main character who must at one point become the "ultimate detective" and solve "the ultimate locked room murder" (Danganronpa brainrot go brrrr), and I don't want to spoil it but...
You know what? Just fucking read it yourself, I can't do this shit justice. And whatever you've heard about it being weird before this is likely just the beginning. Like I knew about the Homo Magica species being a thing. I knew about the time travel into the distant future to observe this species
But none of that is even scratching the surface of this thing.
Anyways, 10/10, it's not better than Rebellion but it's up there for me. How does anything manage to be this ridiculous and absurd without being ridiculous and absurd. Like this isn't anything like, for instance, Lasagna Cat. But I had a more wtf reaction to this piece of media than to that. It's just so uniquely, subtly out there compared to things like Lasagna Cat, not that I don't like that series, it's just being used as an example of the kind of insane that this isn't, to in turn demonstrate through that absence how insane this work IS. Because it is fucking insane. And I love it. And AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Maybe it's made worse by the fact that I am actually capable of following it's logic.
Maybe the best way of putting it is that it's a Mind Screw without being aggressively symbolic or random or tonally inconsistent.
I dunno, I keep trying to describe it and it keeps failing so I'm just going to force myself to stop typing and actually post this rant that wasn't supposed to be a rant but apparently I can't help myself when it comes to these things.

SCP-049
[Idk speech. For fun]
A peculiar Medieval plague doctor, contained within the multitudinous of chambers in Site-19. This doctor doesn't have a degree and may even use leeches as a cure or just turn you into a patient zombie. The doctor, however, in spite of this, is driven in its goal to make a difference to the world. It's difference it strives for is to rid our world of the pestilence! What the pestilence is remains a mystery to the Foundation.. and us included.

(Another speech for fun).
Iris Thompson SCP-105. A female humanoid contained within Site-17. An anomaly thats abilities reflects its passionate hobby. This anomalous photographer can manipulate the photographs taken with its also anomalous personal camera, classified SCP-105-B. 105-B preforms its anomalous effects greater than other cameras. Just like how 105 can gasp within its photos contents, we as a Foundation grasp at its potential to serve a greater purpose than it sitting away in a box all its life as long as its animate. We can hope for its compliance to the Foundation's flaws goals to further help our objectives to serve the light of humanity.

SCP-4051
Rainer Miller SCP-4051. A male humanoid contained within Site-17's fortified walls. While it demonstrates a compliant and kind demeanor, its still an object none the less. Like how its a helpful object to the Foundation as a whole, it's anomalous capabilities centers at its ability to manifest objects from the portals it manifests. Sadly limited to how acknowledged on the items it produces. Although the objects themselves come out small from the same small portals it creates, it has huge possibilities. Have it patch the facility, make important items such as our precious, resourceful, but costly amnestics. Cut off the prices as we do 4051's social ties with its family. We pride ourselves off our "hospitality" and look forward to its continued loyalty.
Now as its in its chamber, laying in its bed with comic in hand, eyes focused in it as time approaches to testing time. How long would the somewhat good times last before traversing into much worse terrain.

SCP-2243
Item #: SCP-2243
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-2243 is to be contained within a reinforced humanoid containment chamber at Site-██ equipped with non-lethal deterrents to prevent unauthorized access. The chamber must be outfitted with soundproofing materials due to SCP-2243's propensity for vocalization as its penchant for charisma and allure makes unauthorized access into its containment cell just as likely as an escape attempt. All interactions with SCP-2243 must be supervised by trained personnel, and any requests for interaction must be approved by the Site Director ██████. A one-way observation mirror is to be installed. However, it is not to be utilized 24/7 as it is known that SCP-2243 will always be aware that someone is watching it and may engage in performative behavior. SCP-2243 is to be provided with recreational materials upon request, subject to approval by Site Director ██████.
Interaction with SCP-2243 must be conducted with caution to prevent irritation and subsequent accidental activation of its anomalous abilities.
SCP-2243's anomalous abilities are to be monitored regularly. Should SCP-2243 exhibit aggressive behavior, Protocol Omega-Zeta is to be enacted immediately, involving the use of hand-to-hand combat to settle it down as tranquilizers only further aggravate it. However, it is likely to go through and kill many of its “opponents” before this is reached. This is why it is key to keep it calm. Notify Dr. ████ before engaging in active combat with SCP-2243 as she has shown the ability to talk it down.
[Additional Notes: Due to SCP-2243's unpredictable behavior and potent anomalous capabilities, a specialized containment team trained in both hand-to-hand combat and anomalous entity containment procedures is to be stationed nearby at all times. Despite these measures being put in place, it is advised not to engage in combat with SCP-2243 if possible as it is unlikely for one to survive against it. Even sparing is ill-advised as SCP-2243 casually utilizes brutal and at times lethal moves. It seems that SCP-2243 doesn’t understand that one is supposed to go easy on their partner during a friendly match. Instead, SCP-2243 treats every fight as if it is life or death.]
Considering SCP-2243, and most likely those from its dimension, heals from what should be considered mortal wounds at ease, it is currently considered practically immortal. No firearms are to be used and there are no current plans to test this supposed immortality.
During transportation, personnel must be able to develop a rapport with SCP-2243 or be considered in good standing. This is in place to reduce the chances of agitation and encourage its current cooperation. While SCP-2243 has been happy to help and shows a strong sense of morality, outbursts of any kind should be met with negotiation first and combat if all else fails.  dealt with by Dr. ████, which has shown to be a surefire way of calming it down.
Aggressive language or actions toward SCP-2243 will be perceived as grounds for combat, at which point the only way to calm SCP-2243 down will be the termination of said offender by its hands with the gruesome usage of what it classifies as a “finisher” or “brutality”. At this point, a disembodied voice has reportedly been heard chanting “Finish him/her.” The same course of action will be taken if SCP-2243 witnesses any type of aggressivity towards Dr. ████.
SCP-2243 is to be provided with basic amenities and entertainment to maintain cooperation and prevent boredom-induced agitation.
SCP-2243 demonstrates a strong aversion to containment and expresses a desire to engage in combat and entertainment activities. It frequently attempts to escape confinement to pursue these activities, often resulting in containment breaches and potential security risks. As such, SCP-2243 is allowed monitored access outside of its containment chamber.
Description: SCP-2243 appears to be a humanoid male of Caucasian descent in his mid-thirties with a muscular build, approximately 6 foot 1 in height despite claims of being taller, 200lbs. The only noteworthy marking on its body is a tattoo along its chest spelling “Johnny”. SCP-2243 possesses enhanced physical abilities, including strength, agility, and endurance, beyond that of normal human capabilities. Despite numerous attempts to determine the source of these abilities, SCP-2243's physiology appears to be entirely mundane.
SCP-2243 is known to exhibit a charismatic and self-assured personality, often displaying a penchant for theatricality and grandiose gestures. It is highly proficient in hand-to-hand combat, displaying mastery in various martial arts disciplines, but also shows proficiency with various melee weapons. SCP-2243 is also capable of performing acrobatic feats defying conventional physics.
SCP-2243's primary anomalous trait is its ability to generate and manipulate energy fields, particularly those resembling green, energy-based constructs. These constructs have been observed taking various forms, including protective barriers, projectiles, and offensive weaponry, all of which have been dubbed SCP-2243-1. The extent of SCP-2243's control over these constructs is not fully understood. These abilities appear to be activated through gestures and vocal commands, though the exact mechanism remains under investigation. Alongside this, it’s capable of producing photokinetic energy projectiles from its hands, which it refers to as "Shadow Balls" or "Green Energy”, that are capable of inflicting significant damage to organic and inorganic matter.
SCP-2243's anomalous abilities extend beyond its physical prowess. It has been observed to possess a form of reality-warping, enabling it to alter perceptions and manipulate the outcome of events in its vicinity. This includes the ability to enhance its own combat abilities and create illusory duplicates of itself, SCP-2243-3, making it difficult to contain or neutralize. SCP-2243 often utilizes these "stunt doubles" as decoys or to overwhelm adversaries, suggesting a strategic acumen beyond conventional human capability.
One of SCP-2243's most confounding anomalous properties is its ability to spontaneously generate film crew equipment and personnel, SCP-2243-5, seemingly out of thin air. These manifestations typically appear during combat scenarios, allowing SCP-2243 to produce elaborate cinematic sequences in real-time and manipulate its surroundings to create elaborate stage-like environments evidently at will. Despite extensive research, the origin of these manifestations remains unknown.
Tumblr media
SCP-2243 producing an instance of SCP-2243-5
It has the extraordinary ability to produce multiple instances of SCP-2243-4 at any time that it refers to as “stunt men”. SCP-2243-4 appear as men who look similar to SCP-2243, but not identical. They seemingly materialize out of thin air and disappear just as seamlessly. When asked about them, SCP-2243 claims it is “too valuable to do its own stunts even though it totally can.” Not to be confused with SCP-2243-3, “stunt doubles”, which are perfect clones of SCP-2243 that it creates using its green energy during combat. Despite the names being synonymous, there is a clear and distinct visible difference.
Furthermore, SCP-2243 demonstrates an enigmatic ability to create SCP-2243-2 instances, which function as an invisible yet responsive live studio audience. These entities provide audible feedback and reactions to SCP-2243's actions, further enhancing its theatrical performances during combat encounters. Despite being imperceptible to onlookers, SCP-2243 interacts with SCP-2243-2 instances as though they were tangible entities, implying a cognitive connection beyond conventional sensory perception.
Tumblr media
SCP-2243 interacting with SCP-2243-2
These cinematic apparitions serve to augment SCP-2243's theatricality, enhancing its engagements with both adversaries and Foundation personnel.
SCP-2243's origins and motivations remain shrouded in mystery, with conflicting claims suggesting ties to alternate realities and interdimensional conflicts. Further investigation into SCP-2243's extradimensional knowledge and the veracity of its assertions is ongoing.
SCP-2243 is known to engage in confrontational behavior, often seeking out adversaries to engage in combat. SCP-2243 exhibits an exaggerated sense of self-confidence and bravado, often engaging in verbal taunts and dramatic gestures during confrontations. SCP-2243 displays a charismatic and flamboyant personality, often engaging in boastful behavior and making witty remarks, even in stressful or dangerous situations. It has demonstrated a tendency to seek attention and validation from others, particularly through public performances and displays of its abilities.
Despite its aggressive tendencies, SCP-2243 has displayed a strong sense of morality, frequently intervening to protect innocent individuals from harm.
SCP-2243 has shown an advanced level of intelligence past that of most sapient Euclids. It has made claims of possessing a Ph.D. in quantum mechanics. When tested on the subject, SCP-2243 showed remarkable proficiency.
SCP-2243's presence tends to draw significant public attention, making containment challenging. Witnesses of its anomalous abilities are typically administered Class-A amnestics to maintain secrecy.
[Additional Notes: SCP-2243's anomalous abilities and charismatic personality pose a potential threat to Foundation secrecy and containment efforts. Research is ongoing to understand the full extent of its capabilities and origins. Efforts to recruit SCP-2243 as a Foundation asset for containment and neutralization of other anomalies are under consideration, pending approval from higher authorities.]
SCP-2243 is to undergo regular psychological evaluations and physical examinations to monitor any changes in behavior or anomalous abilities. Any attempts by SCP-2243 to utilize its anomalous abilities for personal gain or unauthorized activities must be promptly reported.
SCP-2243 claims to be a former Hollywood actor and martial artist, though its background and identity remain uncertain. It frequently refers to itself by the alias "Johnny Cage" and insists on being addressed as such. Despite its cooperative demeanor, SCP-2243 has been known to exhibit stubbornness and defiance when faced with authority or containment procedures it perceives as restrictive. However, it seems to have taken a liking to Dr. ████ and adheres to her authority for reasons unknown. Though it is theorized to be aesthetically motivated.
While generally personable, SCP-2243 can become irritated or outright aggravated if treated like a specimen or if it becomes bored. Will only answer to Johnny, Mr. Cage, or Dr. Cage.
Despite SCP-2243's often brash and arrogant demeanor, it has shown a degree of cooperation with Foundation personnel, particularly when provided with opportunities for public exposure and adulation. None more than Dr.  ████. However, caution is advised, as SCP-2243's loyalty and motivations remain unclear.
Addenda:
Addendum 2243-A: Containment protocols have been updated to include measures to prevent unauthorized access to SCP-2243's containment cell, as well as enhanced surveillance to monitor SCP-2243's interactions with SCP-2243-1, SCP-2243-2, and SCP-2243-4 instances. Continued observation and analysis of SCP-2243's behavior are necessary to ensure effective containment and mitigate potential security risks.
Addendum 2243-B: SCP-2243's containment cell has been outfitted with holographic projectors to simulate various combat scenarios and facilitate cooperative engagements with Foundation personnel. These simulations serve as both training exercises and opportunities for psychological assessment, aiding in the formulation of comprehensive containment protocols.
Addendum 2243-C: Containment protocols have been revised to include provisions for the monitoring and analysis of SCP-2243's interactions with SCP-2243-1, SCP-2243-2, and SCP-2243-4 instances. Behavioral studies are underway to discern patterns and motivations behind SCP-2243's utilization of these anomalous entities.
Addendum 2243-D: SCP-2243 has been observed engaging in dialogue referencing an alternate reality known as "Earthrealm" and claiming to be a "Mortal Kombat champion." But shows no concern about returning. Further investigation into the origin and nature of SCP-2243's extradimensional knowledge is ongoing.
Addendum 2243-E: Ongoing research endeavors aim to elucidate the extent of SCP-2243's reality-warping capabilities and their implications for containment and neutralization strategies. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams is encouraged to advance our understanding of SCP-2243 and its place within the anomalous spectrum.
Addendum 2243-F: SCP-2243 has expressed a desire to participate in containment breach drills and training exercises alongside Foundation personnel. While SCP-2243's assistance in such scenarios may prove beneficial, caution is advised due to the unpredictable nature of its behavior and abilities.
Addendum 2243-G: SCP-2243's anomalous abilities have led to speculation regarding its origin and potential connection to other anomalous phenomena. Research into possible links between SCP-2243 and known anomalies, as well as its true nature and purpose, is ongoing. Efforts to establish a comprehensive understanding of SCP-2243's capabilities and limitations are underway to ensure effective containment and management of its anomalous behavior.
Addendum 2243-H: SCP-2243 has expressed a strong desire to participate in various forms of entertainment media, including films, television shows, and live performances, citing its theatrical inclinations and performative prowess. While these requests are generally denied for security reasons, limited engagements under controlled conditions have been approved as a means of maintaining SCP-22443's cooperation and containment at the advice of Dr. ████.
Addendum 2243-I: Johnny Cage's penchant for grandiose theatrics and confrontational behavior necessitates ongoing evaluation of containment procedures and personnel training regimens. Collaboration with external consultants versed in performance arts and anomalous psychology may provide valuable insights into SCP-2243's psyche and motivations.
Addendum 2243-J: SCP-2243 has demonstrated a preference for interacting with personnel through staged combat scenarios reminiscent of action films. Requests for such engagements should be evaluated for feasibility and security implications.

A new study titled, Nanocarrier imaging at single-cell resolution across entire mouse bodies with deep learning, was just published in Nature Biotechnology:
Efficient and accurate nanocarrier development for targeted drug delivery is hindered by a lack of methods to analyze its cell-level biodistribution across whole organisms. Here we present Single Cell Precision Nanocarrier Identification (SCP-Nano), an integrated experimental and deep learning pipeline to comprehensively quantify the targeting of nanocarriers throughout the whole mouse body at single-cell resolution. SCP-Nano reveals the tissue distribution patterns of lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) after different injection routes at doses as low as 0.0005 mg kg−1—far below the detection limits of conventional whole body imaging techniques. We demonstrate that intramuscularly injected LNPs carrying SARS-CoV-2 spike mRNA reach heart tissue, leading to proteome changes, suggesting immune activation and blood vessel damage. SCP-Nano generalizes to various types of nanocarriers, including liposomes, polyplexes, DNA origami and adeno-associated viruses (AAVs), revealing that an AAV2 variant transduces adipocytes throughout the body. SCP-Nano enables comprehensive three-dimensional mapping of nanocarrier distribution throughout mouse bodies with high sensitivity and should accelerate the development of precise and safe nanocarrier-based therapeutics.

PJO Containment-verse ?
I was reading SCP stuff and was struck by the idea of a more incompetent version of the Foundation attempting to "contain" Percy Jackson.
The reason for the Foundation being less competent is because otherwise they would surely would have found out about the mythological world/demigods before now.
Would they try and capture all demigods or just the powerful ones? Demigods without demonstrable supernatural abilities (Annabeth) are basically normal except that they attract monsters, so would there even be a benefit to containing them? Could they even contain more powerful demigods like Nico and Percy?
Like using drugs and stuff they could probably kidnap Percy, but once he's there how do you contain him when he can just make any kind of liquid attack you and people need liquid (specifically water) to survive so how do you deal with that?
Obviously there's potential for a really dark narrative here, but I'm more entertained by the idea of Percy just continually telling these guys to get fucked in increasingly creative ways before escaping AGAIN.
If you don't know about SCPs...
It's a fictional universe where there's a secret organization (the Foundation) dedicated to hiding weird shit from regular people. The concept being that weird creepy stuff is actually happening with frightening regularity and the Foundation has decided the best way to preserve our current way of life is by putting all the weird stuff in little boxes and hiding them where no one can find them.
