The Ladies of Addagala || Kofi | Commission Info | Threadless Shop|| Do not edit, trace, or repost!
So this started as another one-off bit that involved drawing the lords of Alagadda with inverted colors, but it grew into a whole realm with Lore. The finding of this place written below, pov of my sprite persona.
[ You would think I would have learned my lesson by now, considering how the blame fell on me for witnessing and then interfering with these kinds of entities. But, no. And so, with the knowing expectation that I will be held responsible for merely observing this, I wish to tell you what I saw while around the outer boundaries of ■■■ verse, ■■■ space-■■■ time, "SCP Wakey Wakey"’s reality. It would appear that, by accident, a secondary nexus evolved from my observations of Alagadda and its tributaries. An attempt by What Is and What Isn’t to balance out the chaos of the city-state: an antithesis. Such a place is a hefty feast to observe by oneself – hence my absence – so I took in what I could for now. More undoubtedly lingers beneath its glossy surface.]
The Land of Addagala – a name a little too on-the-nose in my opinion, but that's not important – was a citywide sanctuary locked within a snowglobe. The first notable sensation I recall being the chill in the air; I learned later that it became just warm enough in its spring and summer seasons to let the flowers bloom and produce fruit. A warmth that apparently came not from the grey sun, but that radiated out from their beloved monarch. The sun, which also acted as its moon, was more of a static decoration in the sky. No sunrise or sunset; the day faded into night into day into night again without it. The kingdom’s borders were high stone walls, beyond which was a mystery that even my kind could not perceive; it simply did not exist. Leaving through the gates led out to… Well, it led me out to Nowhere, but others presumably back their native reality (hopefully). Within said walls were sprawling, spiraling meadows, pastures, and gardens. Neat rows of simplistic homes and facilities leading up to its centerpiece: a modest basilica with a clock tower that stretched far higher than seemed necessary. Everything within this scenery had its similarly mandated colors – or only naturally occurring ones depending on the realm’s laws– of Silver, Indigo, Sapphire, and Turquoise.
After a general overview, I floated down and followed one of the branching stone paths in the garden. Blue roses and peonies lined in neat spirals, soft turquoise grasses, beautiful stone statues, bumbly honey bees buzzing about; I must’ve spent hours in the garden alone. The aforementioned clocktower would sweetly chime each hour before falling into a peaceful quiet again. I spied a few citizens there as I perused the flowers. Besides the silver masks (also mandatory here), they dressed in accordance with the cold weather: Long gowns, capes, and sleeves; furs, feathers, and fluff; soft, warm, and layered to keep the cold at bay. I learned later that those unfortunate few to enter without proper fittings would not stay cold long as the advising Ladies and their orderlies would happily provide suitable clothing. Their motives are well-intentioned, yet also motivated by an implied modesty dress code. Suppose I should have expected as much from the opposite Alagadda.
It was there within the gardens where I found the first lady of the city: Lady Turquoise, wearer of the Solemn mask. Dignified yet understanding. Her stature towered, imposing an air of respect. She was hard at work tending to the hedges; precise in every movement and measurement. A look within revealed more about her and the kingdom itself: This place had a rigid sense of time and a stern set of rules to keep order: both of which were expected to be followed by every citizen. And schedules needed to be planned, written, and updated by someone. The sense of such strict routines was somewhat nauseating – and I like routine, mind you. But now, in a moment of allowed leisure, she tended to her gardens. I would’ve lingered longer to watch her work, but the hint of desperate perfectionism within warded me off. I drifted off towards the main square.
More citizens, and few visitors, were found here. Pleasantly conversing, eating lunches, etc. It was hard to imagine this place had any tie to Alagadda, opposite or not. The mundanity of it was too… mundane. Even the silver masks adorn by all only gave a small sense of strangeness. Even the appearance of the second lady held little fanfare – if you could even call it that. Lady Silver, wearer of the Solaceful mask. A face that knew deep sorrow yet so hopeful. She was out on a daily constitutional, greeted by the occasional passerby. As I lingered near her, more revealed itself: this was a place of pacifism. Violence of any kind would not be tolerated and be “corrected”. That word always worried me, and for good reason. As the clocktower chimed again, I saw how these “corrections” were made. The tower held many rooms: rooms of solitary for those who needed time to accept the help they were so graciously getting. To break those unfortunate habits they brought with them. Truly, they – well, Lady Silver here had her doubts about it, how helpful – believed this method was humane. My growing disappointment accompanied me as I continued my investigation. The city’s basilica awaited.
More flowers, statues, and an endearing fountain decorated the atrium. A faint humming led me to its kitchen. A friendly tune, hummed by a most friendly person. The third lady of the city: Lady Sapphire, wearer of the Amiable mask. Her countenance bore a gentle, inviting smile. She was discussing medicines with a few visitors it seemed, all while baking some kind of honey pastry. Each and every concern of theirs was met with reassurance, every question had a simple answer. There within her I saw the purpose of the city: to be a place of healing and peace. Vows of sobriety, working treatments for nearly every ailment, and a steadfast belief that anyone could be rehabilitated. Such an unwavering optimist, of her own skills and of people in general, that it was almost… concerning. I did not peer any further.
I meant to keep this short, I really did. However, recalling the little pleasant details before Knowing has helped me get to this point. I remember the walls and columns of the nave being a marble of some kind, streaked with silver and indigo. The natural lighting filtering in and mingling with the grey candle lights. Upon the bema towards the altar, lavish bouquets had been placed. I wish I could have enjoyed the scenery longer – I wish I could have enjoyed Addagala in general longer. However, that is not possible now. There upon the altar stood a large crystalline coffin, occupied by a giant corpse wrapped in glimmering, gossamer shrouds: their beloved monarch, the Charred Queen, seemingly at rest in eternal tranquility. And kneeling at her feet, was the fourth lady of the city: Lady Indigo, wearer of the Quiescent Mask. A face serene in sleep. She was deep in prayer, some hushed communion with the queen. Beseechments of guidance, blessings, and the like. I went to peer in to gain some more insight…
But I found nothing. Hollow. Instead, I felt a connection, a string if you will, leading back to the queen’s corpse. So I followed, and I looked within her instead.
I left the basilica hastily. Back out into the open, chilly air. Up, up, up towards the grey sun until the strange claustrophobic feeling left my chest. Having experienced similar horrors already, it should not have surprised me and I should have expected it, but as you can see – I did not learn my lesson! After a moment to calm down, I decided to make one more investigation before leaving. Hesitantly, I stepped down onto the grounds of the garden. All around me revealed the brilliant branching life of the plants, healthy and prospering. Then… then there were the “statues”. Some brighter than others, some were dimming, but none were extinguished completely…The lucky few to receive the Queen's “blessing”, I learned : an eternal state of peace in the land of Addagala. Or at least, that's what the queen told them, the Ladies, everyone...
No. She would not rest peacefully anymore.
All it would take. Is one. Little. Push.

oh huh weird, how'd that statue fall over
Anyway. If it wasn't clear in the snippet, the ladies do not know that the charred queen is actually incasing people in stone. Leading to this incident, which is what causes Lady Silver becoming disillusioned, and deciding to run away from Addagala (mirroring the black lord's execution/exile).

I have so many questions about the cool colored ladies and their home. Does the charred queen turn the others against Silver when she leaves? Do any of them have guilty pleasures or favorite books? What are the people like in addagala? Are there any animals besides bees? What would the yellow, black, and white lord think of them? I love them so MUCH!
Does the charred queen turn the others against Silver when she leaves?
No, because she does not know nor figure out that Silver knows. Shortly after Lady Silver leaves, Lady Indigo finds and disposes of the statue remains, and then reports the incident to the queen. The queen decides to initiate her plans immediately after.
Do any of them have guilty pleasures or favorite books?
Silver - her Want to experience the “Forbidden” stuff like chocolate and physical intimacy (her reasoning is that she will be able to better understand people's joys and sorrows). The thought of just holding Red’s hand flusters her a lot.
Sapphire - make no mistake, she does not take any pleasure in surgery. But being the only one in Addagala permitted to perform it (the few times it is required) does give her a sense of pride (the full weight of that job has not hit her. yet.) She owns all manners of book on modern medicines and practices.
Turquoise - achieving perfection. Her final efforts, pushed further by the queen, will be her downfall.
Indigo - n/a
What are the people like in addagala?
Visitors are not frequent to Addagala. They are treated with Hospitality, asked to respect a few basic rules (dress code, do not disrupt citizen schedule, no contraband). They are required to be evaluated by Sapphire and Silver at least once, just to ensure their health. Any treatments that may be recommended are optional of course, so long as they don't intend to stay. But after experiencing such a peaceful and sincere world, that gives all who enter a sense of tranquility, who would want to leave?
Citizens were once visitors that decided to become permanent residents. They must abide by all the rules and schedules and treatment plans. But otherwise live easy, peaceful, and harmonious lives. They are by no means Not Allowed to leave, but must be evaluated by all four Ladies to ensure their health before leaving.
There have been a few occasions of friction between visitors and citizens, but the orderlies handle it calmly : Escort visitors out, Escort citizens to the tower.
Orderlies are citizens who work directly with the Ladies, often assisting in duties around Addagala.
Are there any animals besides bees?
There are some farms for cows, sheep, ducks, and chickens.
The occasional stray pet wanders in from time to time. All are taken care of; some are assigned to residents that wish to take care of them personally.
What would the yellow, black, and white lord think of them?
They would think them foolish and weak. And given that the Ladies would see the Lords as poor souls in need of healing and rehabilitation, they would hate them.
Red would too. The reason he gets along with Silver eventually is because she's his complement (black's reflection) (not to be confused with ryb color complement. I used rgb color complement because this started as a "photo negative" lords joke)
which, when i was trying to express this concept to @insane-control-room , they came up with an easier way to see it.

New ship droped lady silver and the red lord🤔 i can see it being very wholesome and extremely fucked up at the same time!!!
Correct.
On one side, you have a person who's only known a modest life of peace and healing, and also a lack of (for lack of a better term) "Exciting Experiences". Everyday, they console everyone else's worries and difficult emotions. They can see the troubling experiences through their patients' eyes but of course never having truly experience it themself. It leaves them with a sense of doubting, in their work and themself. A sense of yearning to truly experience life so that they may truly help others.
On the other side, you have a person who's only known the extremes of pleasure and pain. A life of luxury and depravity. They are compelled to feed off the vulnerabilities of others, by way of intimacies. Able to spy in on people's weaknesses and desires to bend them to their will. Deep down, theres an unspoken desire to have a real connection to someone, yet it only leads to cycles of violence because thats what They Want (cough cough the other lords cough cough). It only gets worse when the black lords gets exiled.
However one day, by complete happenstance, they hear each other through the wall. So they begin talking to each other. And despite their best efforts, they are somewhat endeared by the other. It was frustrating at times: he couldn't find a guilty desire to manipulate, and she couldn't see through him without permission (which he was adamantly against at first.) They talk for an hour and then hours, once every couple of days to everyday, a few weeks go by then months. By then, they'd spoken about things that they never would have otherwise. Let slip the masks they wear. Their powers canceling each other out in the best way: one feeling bold enough to Want and the other feeling Wanted as a real person. His hunger momentarily satisfied by it at times.
And then the statue incident occurs. And Silver is rightfully scared and panicked. Everything she knew about her home is shattered. So she runs and pleads with her friend to meet her on the other side of the wall because she is terrified but cannot stay there, and he agrees to (despite it being impossible. Because his side is a completely different wall in a completely different world and there no guarantee she would be there--
There's a frantic knocking on his wall. The red lord hesitantly opens the passageway to the service tunnel, and is greeted by someone he has never seen before but knows. They both know. They stay there in his bedchambers a while. Lady Silver grieving her friends and home, held in the arms of a person she can barely look at because of the Redness (shes only seen it once before ai the statue breaking open.)
Try as he might to comfort her, the red lord knows a simple unfortunate fact: she cannot stay here either. For many reasons, but mainly because he knows this place would tear her to pieces. Its a confusing feeling: he wants to help her escape to somewhere safe, but that means he either loses her forever or he leaves home with her. Leave behind all the luxurious fashion, jewelry, feasts, fights, sex -- like, a lot of sex -- all for some stranger who makes him feel like. A person.
He packs a few "essentials" in a bag, and they both sneak out of Alagadda together. Theres a realm he knows that should be safe enough for them both...

How are Yellow and White Lord doing back in Alagadda in the Addagala timeline?
In a word: Bad.
As one might expect, even a realm of chaos like Alagadda runs own its own sense of balance. It was already pushed off kilter by the exile of the black lord. But now, with Red's departure, its unbalance is worsening, and faster.
And suppose that they know that. Suppose that at the door leaving the city and entering earth, the two runaways were stopped. The Red Lord has never taken his responsibility to the city particularly seriously; but to abandon it outright? It infuriated the Yellow Lord. Suppose they would've gotten into an argument and fight; after all, after everything -- every excuse to help that bastard -- just to run away with some girl?
But it's not just some girl. "I love her." the Red Lord reasons, on instinct. Its almost laughable because the Red Lord never loved anyone before, so this must be another one of his stupid jokes. Its not. And the yellow lord can see that. Can see him, despite the Everything. And with that came a sense of clarity.
The end was coming. The red lord was leaving. The city would burn to the ground. This would be the last chance to help him: by letting him go.
"Don't look back."
Its not long after that riots start breaking out. People giving in to every violent thought and action. It takes all his strength to not stop or join in the violence, to simply let it be. Alagadda was rotting from the inside out. He was tired. His living quarters were burning down. He was tired.
Suppose the white lord finds him, trying to sort out the violence, and control it again. But everything is burning down. And the Yellow Lord is laying in bed. Its absurd! Its ridiculous... Its quiet. The fire crackles around them. There's nothing they can do for Alagadda anymore. They both know it. There's nothing more they can do for each other. So they succumb to the fire, laying together and wrapped in each other's arms for the first and last time.

How would the other lady’s and lords react to meeting to their compliments?
If they could've met, Best case scenarios:
Yellow/Indigo - Would have been similar to his relationship to the white lord, except that Indigo does not retort. Every argument and insult and threat is met with silence. Like talking to a wall, and it makes him absolutely furious. Even physical violence is met with no response. There's no satisfaction to be had winning against this being. And it's not that Indigo is ignoring him either; they are aware of him and listening. Suppose, deep down, she sees his rage as directionless.
Their powers would've eventually caused the yellow lord to better handle his violent tendencies, able to cool the boiling blood that courses through his veins – while Lady Indigo, on the other hand, would finally have some will of her own, able to express herself finally.
White/Sapphire - White finds Sapphire to be naive. Afterall, if she is supposedly the head of their medicine and chief surgeon (their only surgeon), they would know to carry themself as such. But she act like a maid. And Sapphire thinks them strange : if the white lord knows so much important knowledge and wisdom, then why are they not using it to aid their city? What was the point of knowing if not to use that knowledge?
Their powers would have eventually softened the white lord, humbling them enough to try being kind to others and even ask for help when needed. Sapphire would see that there are more complexities to healing and medicine, even the miraculous kind she makes. Its not always easy, not always happy, and not always kind. But it does discourage her.
Black/Turquoise - A volatile combo. Suppose they have some things in common: their “loyalty” to their monarch (though one is from selfish gain and the other from infatuation), and their drive to do what needs to be done. Its hard to say what would be worse, them opposing each other or working together.
Their powers would have eventually made the black lord a little less of a selfish prick by subduing his ego, and Lady Turquoise would be forced to see that Perfect does not exist. This will cause her pain, but it is necessary.

What do the ladies look like under their robes?
(That sounds so wrong, I mean do they have spaghetti flesh, or something else?)
[Footage clip from interview with SCP-2264-3]
SCP-2264-3: You want me. To describe my wife's naked body. To you?
[ [Researcher pinches the bridge of their nose.] “That is not what I asked.”]
SCP-2264-3: [Crosses his arms, eyes of his mask narrowing.] It sure sounded like it.
[ “I'll rephrase: you've both mentioned being from separate realms, and we have noticed a slight difference in physicality. However, we have yet to gain consent to any physical exams for your partner to document anything specific. So, we were hoping instead you could enlighten us on any significant differences between you two.”]
SCP-2264-3: Ooooh. You want me to describe both of our naked bodies.
[ “No. We just– …” [The researcher flips through notes.] “We already know you have a red, leathery flesh attached to white, chitinous limbs. Flesh that can reshape itself as per your want.”]
SCP-2264-3: Most of the time.
[“Yes– Wait, what?”]
[SCP-2264-3 doesn't answer, simply shrugging as his mask returns to its wide-eyed expression.]
[“… We'll address that later. For now, could you just tell us if she is the same? A simple yes or no.”]
SCP-2264-3: [tilts his head side to side, humming.] hmmm… No.
[“How so?”]
SCP-2264-3: I'm red, she's grey. [Subject chuckles.]
[ “We knew that.” [The researcher sighs, exasperated, and pauses a moment before switching methods.] “…Look, first and foremost, we're simply worried about her. We've noticed she's quite reserved about herself, in such a way that would suggest she's hiding something: some kind of injury, most likely. You claim to be her husband; doesn't her behavior worry you? Or… maybe it was something you–”]
SCP-2264-3: Don't. [Subject’s eyes flash red; guards ready tranquilizers.] Don't you dare even suggest that!
[ “...If not you, then perhaps someone else?”]
SCP-2264-3: [red eyes fade away.] I…I don't know…
[ [Researcher motions guards to stand down.] “ We only want to help keep you both safe. If someone or something hurt her, it would help to let us know.”]
SCP-2264-3: [sighs, staring off to the wall.] Have…Have you ever seen those vases-- the broken ones mended with gold?… That's what it looks like... Her soft flesh, like glossy, grey porcelain, broken into chunks. Like a doll in the hands of a malicious child. Deep scars all across her body, seared and welded together with some kind of silver, attaching to limbs of a similar substance… the scars they, they go so deep… those burns… she doesn't…
[SCP-2264-3 trails off, then his breathing becomes deep and labored.]
[“2264-3?”]
[SCP-2264-3 looks back to the researcher, then to the guards, as if confused by surroundings.]
SCP-2264-3: [Whispering.] … I should go back to her now… We shouldn't be apart for long, I get… hungry.
[“Hm… Alright. We'll end this here for now.”]
[Interview Footage Ends.]

Hello again! Just a curious question what would the other ladies in Addagala would react to my fox-sona being a being that can transform into a fox and make some silly mischief also is lady Sapphire will still assess the Sona. >;P
Lady Sapphire would most likely be the most friendly towards them. Would give them a quick check up to ensure they aren't sick.
Lady Silver and Turquoise would be less warm, but still kind. More akin to a teacher with gentle scoldings against mischief.
And Lady Indigo... well, she would be too preoccupied with prayer to acknowledge them.

So why did Alagadda burn down in the Blue ladies AU, but not the wakey wakey AU?
vbhfajkb blue ladies au 💙😂
It is a different timeline from the wakey wakey au. In the Addagala au, Alagadda burns down; the realm (both actually) are reduced to ashes. But one will regrow from said ashes.
edit: OH WHY. I swear I can read y'all. Because of symmetry. Which is kind of a simple answer -- In the Addagala au, these places are like weights on a scale and meant to balance out the existence of the other -- If one burns down, the other does too. The events leading up to the burnings being like. a domino effect. Already somewhat set in motion with the black lord's exile, which is balanced out when Silver runs away (because a certain sprite pushed over a statue) but thrown off again when Rubedo runs away with her. Further thrown off when Citrinitas and Albedo decided to end themselves.
Why the city is burning could be explained that without the presence of the red lord, the overwhelming pleasure of Alagadda leaves too, leaving the Violence and such to grow. But that wasn't too deeply explored in the wakey wakey au, since they were all gone.
Alagadda in the wakey wakey au doesn't have a counter balance.
#no spoilers but. sometimes that symmetry isn't always 1:1 literal.#also since universe hopping is a kind of thing in scp. wakey wakey au lords Could meet the surviving addagala lords and ladies.#ask#scp addagala#scp wakey wakey#scp au#scp#anon#greenghostlyjekyll
