Boom Scourge needed his own version of Rosy the Rascal.

Meet Rosy Red. Design is partially inspired by some of the scrapped designs for Surge the Tenrec as well as Super Amy's fan-made hairstyle.

I have some other designs for her kicking around, but this one was my favorite.

OK chat I know Scourge has one of the most recognizable and iconic designs in the series but hear me out.

siamese cats right. they're a heat-sensitive partial albinism. which means they're born white, but get darker with both age and in the cold.

do u see my vision? siamese Scourge, who's born solid white, but grows dark to the point of being almost a shadow by the time we see him in the darkest hour.

or alternatively, he can be more realistic, but the fur that grows around scars would be darker on a colourpoint too.

I really wanna do a timeline for how Scourge goes from

Like-- imagine being Sonic and you find ANOTHER clone of you, but this one is actually you but with so many mental issues he should be considered a Batman rogue 💀and he for some reason geniunely hates you and everything you stand for

people rightfully make fun of ken penders a lot but how come barely anybody complains about how he thinks of himself as this creative genius when most of his characters are just recolors or already existing characters with barely changed designs but they're actually from an alternate universe or their child or parent or whatever. the only character of his that a lot of people actually like is scourge but people only like him based on what other writers and artists did with him. hell he didn't even make the design or name that everyone associates with scourge the original version of the character penders made is just. evil sonic with a leather jacket and sunglasses. yet he still takes credit for all those other people's work and makes money off the green design specifically. exploding him with my mind

My favorite old design so he’s barely changed, here’s Scourge! He’s a whitetip reef shark. Since the catfish have gills on their necks, collars aren’t really a thing for pets (they instead have their bio-luminescent whiskers docked, which you’ll get to see when I get to drawing some clan-born). In the place of his iconic tooth collar, Scourge here adorns himself with fishing lines! All the little scars around them are from the hooks catching him. There’s also a few lures on his white paw to make it look extra fancy

suddenly thought about what if ibara has kids when hes older and i keep digging myself deeper into a rabbit hole with this thought bc its such a conundrum. assuming hed even want to have kids at all (he wouldnt, which is why i think this is so funny) depending on where his personality settles as an adult it could go a couple different ways

- if he mellows out and stops larping wolf of wallstreet hed be an amazing parent

- if he does literally anything other than that, then him even considering having kids would probably count as some form of child endangerment

but regardless his kids would be a fucking nightmare . the only saving grace would be if niki was their father, and in that case i grieve for whatevers left of nikis sanity. and god forbid their father be nagisa , they would have the most bizarre brand of autism known to man and the scourge of teachers everywhere.

but realistically if niki or nagisa or whoever he ended up with asked if he wanted to have kids hed stare at them like they just told him theyre not actually human but instead a pig monkey chimera synthesized in a lab as the result of 60 years of research and they need him to drive them back to the lab for a decennial report immediately tomorrow. he would have a very spoiled cat though . good god this post is nonsense . dont take this seriously i have adhd

so i just ask about music headcanons instead? would scourge even listen to breakcore or like dnb? cause i kinda think he would but he has to be either in a foul mood to do so, or if he feels like zoning out but with fast paced beats to listen to.

for general enjoyment tho it would be the more aggressive punk music or stuff that hardcore edgy middle schoolers listen to. stuff with a lot of noise and anger to it

Story: Conrad, Boris, and Ainsley born triplets to a couple which sold them out to the highest bidder. Conrad was placed under the care of an institution which created assassins, detectives, overall the perfect soliders. Boris was sold to scientist who used him as a human test subject. Ainsley was forced into servitude of a powerful family. They were originally sold at the age of ten. One day when they were 16 conrad got ahold of the scourge (or if it was blackridge at the time) family begging for their assistance help free him and his two siblings from captivity. Though a high price was set conrad agreed. With the assistance of the family they managed to escape and lie low. The three struggled to keep up with the debt to the family, even going as far as ainsley getting extremely sick and all three becoming malnourished. Conrad busted his ass for his two siblings but Boris felt like he was useless in the situation. He sought out Maverick on his own accord, asking to trade his life and complete servitude to the family in lue of the debt his siblings owed and additional funds to them to provide a better life for Conrad and Ainsley. Maverick accepted. Boris was only 17 when he last packed his bags and promised his siblings hed be back, but never to return. As a way to cope with the hurt Boris became agressive and stern. Dedicated to his position which quickly gained him favor from Maverick as Boris let his past erase from his mind.

okay cool! sorry for not being more clear. imma break it into two questions since theyre both kinda long. 

for scourge: 

so what if he switched roles with Sonic for issue 175? he never really deals with the kind of enemies Sonic has had in past. yikes definitely not something like the Egg Beater in this issue. [idk i checked wiki for the machine name] 

seeing that he’s not able to do any real damage against him, hearing the words that he’s reached his limit, and just utterly getting beaten into oblivion. if eggman even had a page about who scourge is on top of that, i have no doubt he would shred into him like no tomorrow. considering the kind of person he is, and how much his squad hates him, there wouldn’t be anyone to back him up post battle. maybe fiona but shes another issue entirely and i like to think she just isn’t there for one reason or another. what would he do then? 

i just hate it when he brags about conquering his planet but has he ever been fighting a guy like dr. eggman for 10+ years? no. he’s not gonna have the same battle experience as sonic does ultimately.

um well i assume if he somehow found himself on mobius prime and had to fight eggman before he went off to raze knothole?? well yeah regardless of all his hype about being better than sonic he is simply NOT beating eggman. his fighting strategy has always been just to overpower his opponent with his speed until they fall, that's why sonic gave him so much trouble until he absorbed the master emerald's power to give himself an edge over sonic. furthermore if sonic was going to beat the egg beater he wouldve done so by thinking of a clever or unorthodox solution that exploits its weaknesses, not just beating it into submission. this is something scourge is clearly pretty bad with, because aside from the surface level applications he never uses his super speed in creative ways like sonic does throughout the comic. its just not happening lol.

i mean on the mental end i just dont think eggman would tear into him like he does sonic. scourge isnt the one guy he hates more than anything, he would just be in the way of finally putting sonic in his place. eggman is quite brutal and efficient when dealing with someone other than sonic or the freedom fighters, because he doesnt have the personal stake in their suffering so he just wants things to be done with. so hed just beat up scourge, toss him aside and go on to fight sonic.

if u mean where he was in a position to go and defeat eggman and rescue everyone from the egg grapes. well. frankly he simply would not do all that. why would he care. he would run away like a loser. and i assume this is a 1v1 if he had the destructix to act as backup things could possibly go a little differently since sonic ultimately beat the egg beater by sicking his friends on it. but that is a different scenario and not really as plausible seeing as how the destructix were doing some other shit at that time

and the comic does lampshade your point, scourge taking over his planet, while impressive, isnt as insane of a feat as he would want everyone (and probably himself too) to believe. all he did is just beat him up. anyone can do that. sonic could easily do that. he says it himself. scourge is just a big bully who gets his kicks from kicking people. he doesnt need battle experience because he just makes everyone afraid of him, and for the most part moebius is a planet of cowards so everyone just rolls over and accepts it. when we see king scourge he does not have any real opposition because nobody wants to do that. the suppression squad hate him but they still obey because theyre scared of him. they dont have any experience of rallying against a greater threat like the freedom fighters have been doing for their whole lives, so it takes sonic and his friends coming to moebius to stop scourge for good.

I don't really believe the whole "Squilf is a reincarnation of Scourge" but I've been appreciating the nods to the theory that offical merch has been adding, and I thought it might be fun to add a nod to my Squilf design in Scourge by giving him freckles

it's funny how many of sonics rivals have shared a voice actor with him at some point... it's a pretty commonly known fact that jason griffith voiced shadow and jet along with sonic but did you know that a couple of shadows lines in sa2 were done by ryan drummond. and that ryan drummond also voiced knuckles in sonic shuffle. and that in metal sonics singular voiced appearance he shared a voice actor with sonic in english AND japanese which makes sense because of the robot copy thing but it's funny that there's a pattern here. unless im forgetting somebody i think the only sonic rivals who have never shared a va with sonic are blaze and silver
