â SIX HUNDRED FIFTY SEVEN â VAMPIRE â MALE â MUSICIAN â
âTerrific. A bisexual dominant vampire with kidnapping expertise.â
Biography: Thereâs insanity and thereâs Scott. Both can easily be used in the same sentence. This is the story of Scott Landenberg. Scott was born as the son of a duke, a title that was passed onto him, a man with many old beliefs and superstitions, while his mother was sweet. His mother never stood a change against his father, all she could do was watch while her husband tried to mold their son into some kind of picture of perfection.
This is what Scott was for a long time as he didnât know any better, a perfectly mannered boy who never stepped out of line, not that he would dare to anyway. But like any child, Scott grew older and even though it was late, his puberty hit inevitably. His father didnât like it but Scott was rebelling, loving not having to do as told for once and just go against everything as he took every opportunity to go out and party. His father watched him change into a young man and didnât like what he saw, in his eyes there was something terribly wrong with his now 19 year old son. While Scott was being a teenager becoming an adult, his father had convinced himself his son was either insane or that he was possessed by a demon or the devil himself.
The day everything changed was the day before his 20th birthday. His mother had begged her husband not to go through with the plan he had for his son, being convinced that he was saving Scott even though the young man didnât need any kind of saving. That day he was going to look at a venue to have his birthday party, or so he thought. The moment he stepped into the building, everything turned black, he felt people take a hold of him and a black cotton bag had been placed over his head. Scott tried to remain calm, this had to be a kidnapping and surely rescue would come soon. As soon as something hit his head he passed out.
When he awoke again he found himself in a bright white padded room with a man standing in front of him, telling him he was his Doctor. Scott tried to explain he didnât need help, he needed to go home, but he was soon explained his father had put him here to get better, as he called it. He tried to fight it all he could, but soon enough days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months. Though he was perfectly sane before being brought there, his mind started to change over time. Every so often other patients, or so he thought anyway, were allowed at night into his room, taking full advantage of him in every way possible. Every time it happened, he tried to report it, but every time he was told it was all in his head and the injuries he had were self-inflicted. The more it happened the more he started to believe it.
The months were turning into years and Scott talked to himself as he had no one else to talk to, a trait he still has this day, discussions that usually happen in someones mind, he speaks out, usually in a whisper. One day the doors finally opened, it was close to his 27th birthday and an aged version of his mother was standing there. At first he thought it was an illusion, but to his relief it was really her. His father had passed away and his mother came to get her son out of the hell her husband had placed him in. Scott had to get used to normal life again, but his beliefs had changed, to him forcing others to do things he wanted them to do was normal, as it was done to him as well.
Most of the things he likes are linked to what he has been through. His mother took care of him and helped him to get a reasonably normal view of the world again, but he couldnât control his needs to control other people. Often heâd run out of the house and hit the town, to get drunk, fuck and stop his mind from changing all the time. That was until one night his life changed, an old friend came to visit and he doesn't remember much of that night. What he did remember was waking up and feeling a hunger unlike any he had felt before in his life and his friend being there to provide him with the blood he craved. Soon he learned what he had become, a creature of the night with an appetite for blood. As years passed by he tried to live as normal as he could manage with his mind still quite scrambled at times.
Hiding who and mostly what he was, was not easy in those times. Anything different was usually ending up beheaded or burned at a stake. Yet he didn't let that stop him, being the Duke of the region, throwing lavish balls and just enjoying life. Life became that much more enjoyable when a witch named Azalea walked into his life, capturing his attention from the second she walked into the castle. A dance was all it took for him to fall head over heels in love with her, both keeping each others secret of what they were safe. He wanted to keep her with him, turn her, but she could never let go of her magic and that's something he respected, as hard as it was for him. Their love bound them together, so when she passed away, she had made sure she would return through reincarnation, the two of them being pulled towards each other in each lifetime she had. Saying goodbye to her, having to watch her die every time takes a toll on him, but he won't complain because he knows losing her fully would be even worse.
Together they have been to various places in the world where they felt safe, but the day that the supernatural beings, like they were, were finally accepted in the world was a great one. Now they didn't have to hide, to fear constantly for their life, even if Scott is sure there are still hunters on the prowl. Now he is here at Saintes, trying to adjust to an actual normal life, not knowing if all will go as smoothly as he hopes.
Scott Landenberg is played by Jeff, 34, He/His, GMT +1

Eyes scanned the shop as he entered, so much variety in flowers. It looked nice and smelled even better. Scott was sure this place was close to heaven to his claim. His eyes shifted to the young man behind the counter when he was spoken to. âHi, yes, I need some bouquets to be delivered. Six or so will do, one of them at least needs to contain Daisies. Which other flowers are popular right now?â He asked as he leaned against the counter.
Theo shuffles his feet a bit nodding politely to the man. âWe do have a lot of daises.â He says, giving a small smile. He pauses to think for a moment, tilting his head a bit. âAre um, are these for a specific occasion? Different flowers can mean different things depending on what theyâre for...âÂ

Shattered Princess: Skylerâs Story
âHe took one look at her, and he knew she was the perfect kind of trouble: a good girl who knew exactly when to be bad.â
The perfect daughter born with a silver spoon in her mouth. She got everything a girl could possibly want. She got nice cars, the most expensive horses, designer clothes, but something happened that nothing of material value could fix: she lost her mother. A teenager, whose emotions had been heightened, and a mother who couldnât handle it. Her world was in turmoil.
Did she go after her? No. Did she turn to her angry father? No. She ran into the arms of a man who couldnât handle her. He tried, but the storm that was inside her just caused them both to erupt. No matter what they did, the ground shook and the sparks didnât fly, they set things on fire. Now, it was her turn to run.
She came with everything, only to lose it all. But, she didnât give up. No, they young scared girl used it to turn everything around. She used her own emotions to build up a strength that she could use to push herself further. She wouldnât let the world tear her down. Instead, sheâd build herself up.Â

Scott stopped in his track when he heard the recalling of rules. This was definitely someone new here. Some seemed to forget that even for those without a collar, this place could be quite a shock. âI take it youâre new here? No, itâs not a joke, but it can be seen in many ways, the claims I mean. A claim can be good, considering the cells arenât all that, so some of us help others by claim or renting. It can also be bad, depending who does the claiming.â Â Scott shrugged, taking a sip from his coffee and held out his hand. âAnyway, welcome. Scott Landenberg, Professor here. And who might you be?â
âYep,â Leo replied with a pop on the âpâ, gaze looking up to the man standing there. His frown only deepened as he listened to the man, skepticism filled his face. âThe very idea of there being claiming and renting is already unbelievable. Weâre talking about actual people. Not some car or a uh- textbook. Am I supposed to think itâs better that some people are nice enough to help people out?â Leo huffed, eyes turned to the offered hand. Letting out a breath, he reached out and clasped the manâs hand, giving it a curt shake. âLeo.â Â

The Last Dance: Life, Love & Loss in Words & Music
Sat Feb 17th 3:00pm - 5:00pm
Guilford Community ChurchÂ
Facebook
$15 per person
By FOMAG
Guilford, Vt. - Friends of Music at Guilford's (FOMAG) annual Midwinter Musicale begins at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 17, in the sanctuary of Guilford Community Church. A propos for Valentine's week, this program is a multimedia consideration of love, as it is woven inevitably through the weft of life and loss, and it includes elements of music, movement, and the spoken word.
Last summer, Jessica Gelter, a former trustee and occasional soloist for Friends of Music, proposed performing David Lang's "Death Speaks" song cycle. Lang had won a Pulitzer Prize for his 2007 "Little Match Girl Passion," a choral work based on the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale. To create this 2011 companion piece of five love songs in the voice of Death, Lang combined excerpted texts from a study of over 600 lieder by Franz Schubert. Mezzo-soprano Gelter will perform the resulting 25-minute work with baritone Tony Grobe, violinist Michele Liechti, guitarist David William Ross, and pianist Keane Southard.
To build a concert-length program around the Lang piece, four gravestone epitaph settings by Putney composer Tom Baehr will be reprised by the reconstituted RIP Singers, who presented a full concert of similar works in 2014. They will also perform Baehr's recent setting of "Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night" by Dylan Thomas, with piano accompaniment by Southard. The RIP Singers include Tom Baehr, Amy Cann, Christina Gibbons, Tom Green, Jenny Holan, Steve John, Bruce Landenberger, and Andrea Matthews, all members of other regional choral groups and choirs.
To complement the music through other expressive modes, FOMAG administrator Joy Wallens-Penford envisioned including the literary arts, particularly poetry that offers solace and inspiration in the face of death, which can seem to signify not only the end of life but of love. A few selections expanding this limited view will be read by actors Adrienne Major and Tom Green. Poets include Kahlil Gibran, Edna St. Vincent Millay, and Henry Scott-Holland, as well as Valerie DuBois of Chicago, whose post on a poetry site in early January was selected only a couple of days later.
Relevant prose possibilities began to rise to the fore one by one as well. Jess Gelter asked for a version of "The Little Match Girl," so a summary of that heart-rending tale awaits the FOMAG audience. Then FOMAG member Valerie Abrahamsen offered to read from her 2015 book "Paranormal: A New Testament Scholar Looks at the Afterlife," based on research into near-death experiences. Listeners will note that these two works share some common themes and offer an element of hope.
Other published viewpoints on the topics of death and love and moving forward include the first chapter of Robin Truelove Stronk's irreverent memoir "Vet Noir: It's Not the Pets, It's the People Who Make Me Crazy," which deals with the euthanasia of a beloved cat. Since the author, now a full-time artist, spends winter in the tropics, Guilford veterinarian Laurie Schneski will step in as reader for this down-to-earth and entertaining episode.
When Guilford-based poet and author Verandah Porche lost her husband Richard Coutant in 2015, just six weeks after a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer, the decision was made to bury him on the property he so loved and tended at Total Loss Farm in Packer Corners. She will read her poignant and poetic essay on their story, published in the Spring 2016 issue of Northern Woodlands magazine.
Blending poetry and movement is interpretive dancer and hand-signer Beverly Miller, who lost a grown son a few years ago. To move through her own grieving process, she began writing daily haiku and taking nature photographs to pair with them. While Miller interprets a baker's dozen of the haiku being read by Adrienne Major, the paired images will be screened for the audience to enjoy.
Various resources on death and dying will be made available for attendees, including the opportunity to order copies of some of the works being presented on the program. Beverly Miller is coordinator of the local chapter of The Compassionate Friends, a national organization serving families grieving the loss of a child and will be glad to speak to anyone interested in participating.
Admission at the door for "The Last Dance" is $15 per person, which includes a teatime reception of warming homemade soups, hearty breads, various sides, and desserts, with mulled cider and other hot beverages. Guilford Community Church is at 38 Church Dr., Guilford, off Bee Barn Rd. and Rt. 5 in Algiers village, just a bit over a mile from Exit 1 off I-91. The facility is handicap-accessible.
Friends of Music at Guilford is a community-based music organization known for presenting unusual repertoire and offering its core programs on a donation basis to make music accessible to as broad an audience as possible. For further information and a season calendar, contact the FOMAG office by phone at (802) 254-3600, email [email protected], or visit online at www.fomag.org and Facebook.
FOMAG's 52nd concert season enjoys media sponsor support by Vermont Public Radio and through the Vermont Arts 2017 and 2018 programs of the Vermont Arts Council.

Scott,
Can't not wish my own sire a happy birthday. Even though I think when you're that old, they kind of become obsolete. How old are you anyway? You don't have to answer that.
Enjoy these. One is more for me to enjoy with you, but I think it'll still be fun.
xoxo Atticus
PS, I drank like half the wine in the bottle and filled the rest with blood, but I think it's the thought that counts.
