The Other World of Scorpion Venom

The venom that word itself sounds horrific, the deaths caused by the sting of deadly reptiles are huge in numbers although scorpion stings are not life-threatening they are dangerous to life. Individuals living in g in rural areas with low sanitation are much likely to be stung by scorpions.

 There are certain kinds of scorpions whose stung could be fatal. The venom of scorpion has a mixture of neurotoxins, cardiotoxins, and nephrotoxins. Scorpion sting can cause neurologic disorder to cardiovascular collapse and in mild reactions, it can cause shortness of breath, restlessness, numbness, and warmth.

The Importance Of Scorpion Venom And Possible Its Discoveries

 For years now scorpion venom is being studied for its advantageous effects on health, scorpions such as the deathstalker Scorpion, Tunisian Scorpion maurus, have been identified to be used in medicine. The scorpion-derived peptides are therapeutic and are being used in biomedical industries. But the only toxin that is being used is the chlorotoxin other than that  the scorpion venom market does not sell any toxins.

 Although the medical research related to Scorpio has been slow there are several possibilities. As per research, it’s been found that a scorpion venom in the coming years could be used for the treatment of lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and cancer.

 For some time now researchers have been studying the toxins of Scorpios, snakes, and other species to discover ant-microbial components. As the doctors are furious about making more pain-resistant medicines to manage pain, some researchers have shown positive results, but there are side effects attached to it. So for now, there is a long way to go.

 With all the research, there is the biggest hurdle around, scorpions are rare and special species and are illegal to trade in some states and controversial. Scorpios venom costs thousands of dollars making it difficult to invest in them.

I know I spam gifs of this guy a lot, but I just love watching him! He is super jumpy and active, a really fun species! These guys were initially recommended to me as a way to get comfortable around defensive, agressive scorpions while building up to hot species, and I definitely agree.

This is the most pissed off scorpion I've ever had to deal with! Luckily his venom is nonpotent, because he went to sting the tongs several times. A great species to start with if you want to get into more potent hots!

One of the new scorpions I bought! Scorpio maurus, but I suspect she's subspecies palmatus. Hands down the angriest scorpion I have ever worked with, she threat posed whenever I had to move her container. I'm really happy I found her, as this has been a species I've wanted for a while.

He put himself in a weird position, but I got to sex him. He's a male! Still got to name him though.
