finally got around to drawing my chainsaw man oc, the scopophobia fiend who goes by Iris. more info about them /  translating my awful handwriting under the cut. I plan on drawing their true devil form soon

scopophobia fiend.

notable features:

eyes - no iris (ironically), only pupil and sclera. very bloodshot, they don’t blink

scars - an autopsy scar from the morgue their body was in before they possessed it. self harm scars from the body’s ‘previous inhabitant’

teeth - when they took over their body, all the old teeth fell out and new sharp ones grew in

powers:

The Feeling of Being Watched - when looking at someone directly (ie without a filter, such as glass, plastic or a reflection) the air pressure around that living being will slowly begin to increase, and they will be left unable to move. This pressure will increase to the point of being painful, but cannot kill someone.

All Seeing Eye - by creating an eye symbol on any surface (floors, walls, vehicles, people), Iris can choose to use them to look through. The pupils of the symbol will move as if it were a real eye, and Iris can use them until the symbol is destroyed. Their eyes roll back in their head while they do this.

Personality wise, Iris is rather playful, and likes to creep people out. Sometimes they’ll say things just to scare people, they have a very dark and morbid sense of humour. They consider themselves to be a friend of Aki’s (who more or less just puts up with them), and when Power and Denji show up, they take on the “Older sibling’s cool best friend” role.

John's Nightmare I've had the idea bouncing around my head for like months to make one of his nightmares into a comic! It's about sense of self, frustration around the loss of memory but retention of feeling, loss of potential future, and becoming unrecognizable to himself.

Sahkil, Vlogar

[Commissioned by @thetygre​. The vlogar was a creature in the Book of Fiends, originally a daemon of lust. And in a book that features multiple evil sperm monsters (seriously), it’s one of the more subtle lust-themed creatures in the book. It was the commissioner’s idea to make it a sahkil related to scopophobia, which I thought was a brilliant choice. And because the art is disturbing without being puerile (see previous statement about sperm monsters), I wanted to be sure to use the original piece.

Incidentally, do you think it’s a coincidence or an intentional joke that a voyeur monster has a name close to “vlogger”? The word vlog was coined in 2002, and the Book of Fiends came out in 2003, so it could go either way.]

Sahkil, Vlogar CR 3 NE Outsider (extraplanar) This humanoid creature has pebbly skin that shifts in hue as you watch it. Its hands and feet are clawed, and it clambers around on all fours. Its face is contorted into a ghoulish rictus, and a long tongue lashes from its oval mouth obscenely.

A vlogar is a sahkil representing scopophobia, the fear of being stared at. They embody this fear in both directions—a vlogar is rarely seen unless it wishes to be, but it is a voyeur par excellence and stares at others constantly. Most vlogars delight in revealing their hideous gaze only for a moment, just long enough to let a victim know that they are being watched, before disappearing back into the shadows. They also encourage wicked mortals to become voyeurs themselves, and may stoke this obsession towards more serious crimes given enough time.

A vlogar prefers to leave direct violence to more powerful sahkils, instead watching from the sidelines to strike at the unaware or vulnerable. Creatures they grab are magically silenced, and vlogars are responsible for at least some mysterious disappearances. They only fight for a few rounds at a time before retreating, scampering up sheer walls to find a hiding spot. On the rare occasions they fight an entire group at once, they break up formations with their spell-like abilities, rendering parties fighting amongst themselves so the vlogar can pinpoint their weakest member.

Lesser Skip Between (Su) A vlogar can use the skip between ability of a sahkil only once per day. Look of Fear (Su) 30 ft., Will DC 16, shaken 1d4 rounds. This cannot increase a creature’s fear levels beyond shaken. This is a mind-influencing fear effect, and the save DC is Charisma based and includes a +2 racial bonus from the vlogar’s emotional focus. Silencing Constriction (Su) A creature grappled by a vlogar’s tongue is silenced, as per the spell, for as long as it remains grappled.
