in js&mn there’s that scene where strange does his magic trick for norrell and norrell loses it like he’s so delighted by this unique kind of magic and it’s basically against his entire character we’ve seen so far - because it shows us that he’s more fond of magic than of competition, at his core, and it influences how their conflict later unwinds because we know he does really appreciate strange in some weird way. BUT i rewatched it and childermass has no reaction! which is (1) either his rbf, (2) he’s attempting to look unfazed but he’s freaking out inside, or (3) he’s been experimenting with weird magic already so this doesn’t ruffle him. dying to know which option it actually is but my vote’s on he’s been screwing around with mirrors and stuff for a while and so he’s like ‘whatever mr. strange good for you yesterday i made gold out of norrell’s thrown out notes’

Aussie: It's always apparently down for maintenance anyways. So I thought why not take it home for maintenance?

Florida: Did you have a clipboard at least?

Aussie: Yeah mate, had the holy Trinity high-vis, clipboard, and a ladder to take me to higher places.

Ellis: What'd you use the ladder for?

Aussie: Well I had to look busy so I just kind of went onto the roof.

Beth: What and then what happened?
