I think most of the complaints about the costume design have been centered around the iconic yellow dress and not really about the rest of the costumes in the film. Also about the whole "Emma Watson refuses to wear a corset bc no corset = empowered woman" controversy. I agree that the yellow dress seems a bit underwhelming but I really love the rest of the costumes from what I've seen in the trailers

And the stays, well no one in the animated film looks to have a corseted figure, so they do not have the need to actually make the cast wear corsets. The silhouette would have been slightly more accurate, but if it’s not needed, well, what’s the point. XD

500 followers!!!!!

I started this blog six months ago literally as an outlet for my historical interests and aesthetics and because my 'main' blog I was using was festering and decaying because I had stopped writing poetry. All I was expecting to do was share and reblog various pictures relating to my historical interests, and perhaps garner a handful of followers along the way. My intentions were purely humble.

Upon my life, never did I expect to meet such kind, sweet, thoughtful, engaging, enthusiastic and incredibly intelligent individuals, whom I learn so much from and delight in passing on knowledge to in return. A community united by history (and for some of us, prinny!) and the past and a burning desire to learn. 500 followers is nothing in the grand scheme of things, but seeing as this was just meant to be a side blog of sorts, I feel I've done well and come far.

As always, big love to my Set™, my fave mutuals, @decadent-empress @lordansketil @staches-and-sabres and @a-royal-obsession (follow these ladies immediately if you aren't currently doing so!) for being all of the aforementioned and more, for nerding out over prinny and Georgiana and G3's family and so forth, for making me laugh too. I have come to adore you all over these past six months.

Big love also goes out to @hismajesty-kinggeorgeiii, @beau--brummell, @therepublicofletters, @spoutziki-art, @andrewstuntpilot, @scopesandskullties and my newest sweet mutual @girlwhoiscrying! I hope I can interact with all of you more as well as my blog continues to grow and evolve! Future plans include more Original Content™ alongside the reblogging, where I rant and get excited over some likely incredibly niche area of history, maybe liveblogging when I visit certain historical sites/buildings, and a better blog layout because I'm aware mine sucks (; thank you again one and all, for being decent and genuine people, and for being so kind and welcoming towards me.

Where do you currently live? In the Oxfordshire countryside, very close to Blenheim Palace.

Where would you prefer to live if given the option, and why? York - I feel drawn there. Cheltenham, Bath or Bristol (again) would be nice too.

Shoe size? EU 43-44 / UK 10-11.

Can you fall asleep on your back? If so do you wake up like that? I usually fall asleep on my side but wake up on my back.

Is there a movie/book/show/game you’re looking forward to? What about it has you most excited? I’d still like to see Victoria & Abdul! I only read historic biographies and fiction tbh lmao so not really, no shows as I don’t watch TV but gameswise I’m excited for ni no kuni 2, that big dishonored dlc and the new final fantasy dissidia.

Wine, or hard liquor? What is one of your preferred drinks? I only drink red wine, and gin is my poison in relation to spirits. My preferred drinks are coffee, energy drinks and nearly anything carbonated and/or with elderflower in it.

Physical touch, do you enjoy it? What’s your favorite spot, what spot do you not want to be touched? I either crave it or am repulsed by it, there’s no inbetween. I like it on my neck and chest but I think most people do, and I don’t like having my stomach touched.
