A Broken Boy

(Starter for @heretic-sciscitator hopefully this works for you.)

The fluorescent lights overhead flickered and let out a steady hum as they stirred back to life shining a harsh white light throughout the room. It was the type of light that was blinding, one that reminded him of similar spotless tile floors, the smell of antiseptic and the feel of cold metal against his skin. That wasn't even mentioning the pain.

He tried not to think of it. The man had become so used to blocking out those thoughts that he often could brush them aside like they were nothing, but there were certain times that he found that task to be not so easy. Now was one such time and he loathed himself for it since he should have been so much better than that; he told him that he should be. So how could he not be?

How could he be so pathetic?

Without meaning to his hands clenched into fists causing the lab assistant standing in front of him to take a step back  and raise up their hands visibly shaken. No doubt they'd thought that they had angered him judging by the sound of their racing heart which thundered in his ears as if he had his head pressed against their chest. But his hearing had always been abnormally acute, 'special', just like all of his other senses and what those senses told him now was that the man in front of him was absolutely terror-stricken.

Why wouldn't he be? Everyone here knew who and what he was – that man had made damn sure of that fact – and knew to handle him with 'care' and that failure to do so could result in less than pleasant outcomes.

“Let's get this over with.” He repeated himself, brushing past the shaken man and making his way toward the unmarked metal door that lead deeper into the laboratory.

The lab assistant seemingly coming back to their senses nodded dumbly and rushed ahead to push the door open for him and guide him down a narrow hallway toward the solitary room at the end. He hated that room, but he walked on, his stride never changing although every fiber of his being screamed at him to turn back. But he couldn't listen to it, couldn't give in, couldn't be weak, especially not in his eyes.

Through several hastily mumbled apologies the lab assistant had him take a seat in the special metal chair in the room before scrambling to turn on the various instruments attached nearby. The steady rumble of the machines flowed through the metal and into his very bones and he found himself tenser than he would ordinarily have been although he was careful not to show it.

“Get him. Now.” His voice was cold, demanding and immediately sent the lab assistant skittering out of the room with promises to fetch the last person on earth he wanted to see, but had to nonetheless.

Synchronization

It has been stressful as of late with all the attacks against Shinra, having to worry about Cloud and his crew returning to deal with them. She wouldn’t stand for that though. She would defend the Professor no matter what it took. She owed him her life and truly as long as one remained alive they would always repair the other. She had to piece him back together after the attack at the canon afterall.

She currently stands in the bathroom, staring into the mirror while her slender fingers firmly grasp the edges of the sink she’s leaned over. There’s a burning look of hatred in her brilliant blue eyes that she stares at her reflection with. Her moonwhite strands tousled around her slender figure, clothed in a long black coat with laces down the back and silver metallic bands around her arms. 

She’s furious of the attacks and it only digresses her into her mind. Why she protects that man when she used to hate him, when she tried to constantly escape. Though she never truly wanted to perhaps, for if she did then she would have. By now it was far too late to deny that he had eaten her mind. He had tactfully manipulated her to exactly what he wanted. To something that would never leave because in her mind he was the only one who knew how she worked. The only one that could fix her if she was severely damaged. She’d be dead without him. 

Of all the experiments, she truly was the one that never left and by now she never will. Though deep down she hated herself for that too. Hated that she let him capture her, hated all the torment she had been put through and most of all hated that she needed him. Truly. She had never known a normal life, she wouldn’t be able to function on her own out in that world. It was a mutual dependence and on top of that she was just insane. Clearly.

She takes in a deep breath and sighs it out while taking a few steps back from the mirror. That dark gaze flits towards the door and she aims to head back into the labs, composed once more, to check on things. 

Her boots click against the floor as she wanders out into the large facility, echoing in the eerie silence of the night as she seeks him out. Her daggers as well as a belt of syringes strapped hidden upon her thighs. Once in the middle the hybrid pauses to look around, knitting her brows.

“Professor?”

And she sat there in agony for hours until she died. Now every week on the day of her death she returns to the person that reads this letter, on a monday night at 12:00a.m. She creeps into your room and kills you slowly, by cutting you and watching you bleed to death. Now send this to ten other people on this one site, and she will haunt someone else who doesn’t.

You swallow pain & fold around it. You have always hurt. You hold it carefully, and twisted in such a way that other people don't have to see it. You don't choke on it. You don't drown. You just have it, the way some people have freckles, this is a thing that lives in your bones. You fold instead of fighting because you know how to make yourself small, tuck away the places where they have clawed at, swallow the bruises so you seem clean. Nobody needs to see it. You will live through this on your own. You know what you need, and relief isn't it. This doesn't mean you cannot reach out - it means it is not in your nature to do so. You should. whether it’s the way you bare your teeth when backed in a corner, your loyalty, or your tendency to act on instinct, your reoccurring theme is the dog. like mitski said “i get mean when im nervous, like a bad dog” or how halsey said “i won’t smile but i’ll show you my teeth” even when migos said “dance with my dogs in the night time” the essence of the dog runs through you. you’re tough and a quick draw on the outside, but if we got down to it we’d see you’re acting the only way you’ve ever known how. it doesn’t make you bad, survival is natural, your loyalty and determination is commendable. i don’t blame you for the way you act when your back is against a wall, but please remember to not bite the hand that feeds.

—    BASICS.  

▸     IS    YOUR    MUSE    TALL    /    SHORT    /    AVERAGE ? Sephiroth is very tall and stands at a towering 185cm.

▸      ARE    THEY    OKAY    WITH    THEIR    HEIGHT ? He has no issues with his height as it’s not something he’s really particularly cared about.

▸      WHAT’S    THEIR    HAIR    LIKE ? Straight, silver, and absurdly long to the point it would be impractical for anyone else in the military to possess such hair.

▸     DO    THEY    SPEND    A    LOT    OF    TIME    ON    THEIR    HAIR     /    GROOMING ? Not nearly as much as one would think, but Sephiroth is very efficient in all things and grooming is no different as he has come up with a specific routine he can complete relatively quickly all things considered.

▸      DOES   YOUR   MUSE   CARE   ABOUT   THEIR   APPEARANCE   /   WHAT    OTHERS    THINK ? No. Being the product of experimentation Sephiroth has learned early on that he is different and that his appearance is abnormal compared to normal humans. So he is fully aware of how he appears and while he knows others find his strange features attractive and even terrifying, he doesn’t necessarily know why.  This also helps play into the fact that having spent his whole life beneath a microscope (both figuratively and literally) he has long since become desensitized to what others think about him.

He can however, be in a crowd as he has been trained for it, but he will not choose to be in a crowd if the decision is up to him.

▸     ORDER    OR    ANARCHY ?   Order. Sephiroth was raised in a world of order and even when his sanity shatters he still believes that he can make his own warped version of order a reality.

▸   PAINFUL    TRUTHS    OR    WHITE    LIES ?     Painful truths. Sephiroth has been lied to his whole life and he’d much rather have the truth no matter how ugly it may be.

▸   SCIENCE    OR    MAGIC ?     Magic. He has an understandable hatred of science. ▸     PEACE    OR    CONFLICT ?    Conflict. He has no purpose without the need for battle. ▸   NIGHT    OR    DAY ?     Night. ▸     DUSK    OR    DAWN ?    Dusk. ▸     WARMTH    OR    COLD ?     Cold. ▸     MANY   ACQUAINTANCES    OR    A    FEW    CLOSE    FRIENDS ?     None. Sephiroth has no friends and the only one considered ‘close’ to him is his sword as it is the only thing that can be trusted. ▸     READING    OR    PLAYING    A    GAME ?      Reading. For the majority of his life reading has been Sephiroth’s only escape from reality even if the literature he was permitted to read would be considered more textbook in nature.

No. Sephiroth has never had anyone that he’s been close to on a personal level.The only major figure he’s had in his life that was kind to him was Professor Gast who vanished during his childhood, and to this day he does not know exactly what happened to him other than that he died. 

▸      WHAT    ARE    SOME    FOND    MEMORIES    YOUR    MUSE    HAS ? None. Every memory that Sephiroth has is marred by pain, cruelty, and suffering which fueled the shattering of his sanity.

▸     IS    IT    EASY    FOR    YOUR    MUSE    TO    KILL ? Yes. Killing for Sephiroth comes as easy as breathing because he was trained to be a living weapon and he excels at his job. None of that means that he particularly enjoyed it before he lost his sanity, but more that it was what was required of him.

▸      WHAT’S    IT    LIKE    WHEN    YOUR    MUSE    BREAKS    DOWN ? Villages burn.

▸      IS    YOUR    MUSE    CAPABLE    OF    TRUSTING    SOMEONE    WITH    THEIR    LIFE ? No. Sephiroth possesses a deep mistrust of all people and has learned that they are a source of pain and suffering and nothing good can come of trusting them.

▸      WHAT’S    YOUR    MUSE    LIKE    WHEN    THEY’RE    IN    LOVE ? Oblivious. Being permanently emotionally stunted and lacking proper comprehension of social standards Sephiroth would not understand that what he felt was love if it hit him in the face. However, even with that lack of understanding if such an unlikely situation were to ever occur Sephiroth would show an unusual amount of attentiveness toward the person and a particularly aggressive protective streak. Depending on the individual in question he would also be more open to their suggestions and show more consideration for their desires than he ordinarily would.

Which tragic character

You try your hardest to be a better person, but sometimes you wonder if you will stop feeling trapped by your past. What monster from folklore protects you?

Cadejo

There is no such thing as Black and White, Good and Evil, Yin and Yang. The world only knows the various greys in-between.

       Nearly every culture out there has some manifestation of the righteous and the treacherous. The cadejo is no different. Hailing from Central American folklore, the tales of the cadejo varies from country to country but they almost always come in two separate variations. The pure, helpful white dog, and the malevolent, evil black dog. The white dog helps to guide lost travelers out of the woods and is the only force which can kill or harm it's evil brethren.

       The black dog that which cannot be killed, prowls the streets at night, searching for its next victim. Once it chooses its prey, it stalks. Almost nothing can draw its attention from the hunt. Its raspy snarls and soft growls can be heard, usually a sign of the victim's impending doom. Your only chance of escaping its open maw is the intervention of the white cadejo.

       You have never been focused on the technicalities of life. Nor have you agreed with many people's boxed-minded views on the concept of good and evil. Nothing in this world is inherently good or evil. You choose to live your life in the grey. This does not make you a bad person. Your life is how you choose to live it and the choices you make along the way. You simply won't allow for moral conflicts to interfere with a logical train of thought. It is this perspective on life which has attracted the cadejo to you. Just be wary of your guardian, it is nearly impossible to tell which one it is until you see it and by then

           it's already too late.
