How To Choose a Right Welding School?
Welding is a high heat process that melts the base metal. Using high heat to melt the base metal allows cooling the causing fusion & in some cases the addition of other metals or gases, causes the metallic structures of the two pieces to join together & become one.
The first and the foremost thing you should look into while choosing a welding school is to go through the reviews and check whether the school is having good placement assistance. You can also ask the companies in your area the list of schools from which they are hiring employees. This can give you an overall idea about which school to choose. You have to decide on what type of welding school you should choose. Before making a decision you have to choose the areas in which you are going to specialize. The areas include pipe welding, plate welding, or combo welding. Getting a combo welding certificate means you can successfully weld on a plate and pipe.
While choosing a welding school the course which they offer covers all welding processes. The welding processes include  TIG (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding), MIG (Gas Metal Arc Welding), FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding), and Stick (Shielded Metal Arc Welding). You have to also enquire about the duration of the course. The duration of the courses offered by some welding schools can go from 9 months to 24 months depending on whether you want to go for the associate's degree or not. You have to make sure if there is sufficient welding equipment and welding equipment as per the strength of the students they are planning to accommodate. If you have three students stuffed in a welding booth you won’t be able to develop your skills properly as welding needs a lot of practice.
Before you enroll for the welding course you should also check the level and experience of the faculty. That means you have to enquire whether the faculty has the necessary skills to explain all the paths in welding that is understandable by them. You should also go through the safety measures and procedures. Apart from all these, a welding apprenticeship program is a great way to build a career in welding. When you work as an apprentice you get hands-on experience in the welding industry. This can give the students a platform to build their skills in the welding area if they undergo this program before joining for a welding course.
