I agree, it should not be on the teachers to provide for their students when they often are struggling themselves due to low pay.

Schools should ALWAYS provide food to all of their students. Even ignoring the fact that some students rely exclusively on school food to survive, just having food makes students do better in class, which is good for the school, because if their students do well on standardized tests, they get more funding (at least, public schools work like that). So it even makes sense from a purely selfish standpoint on the school.

Another day, another band of idiot Republikkkans.

Beach sand moves according to the tides - mostly.

In many places, though, state agencies buy expensive sand from other states & places.

This is to keep shore visitors happy & to rake in some usually local tax monies.

In Florida, this more or less 'useless' practice has been going on since the 1920s!

The Republikkkans say they don't mind wasting tax payers' money in this way.

So long as visitors keep flocking to their seafronts.

Yet, these same politicians can't seem to find enough money to feed school kids. Nor, to house the homeless or help veterans in need...

This waste of funds has already been scheduled to be repeated again this year.

It's time to vote these Republikkkans out of office.

There's so many better uses for this money.

Think of the old people that have little to eat or of the unemployed who need a 'bridge' loan until they can get a new job...

These funds could help so many.

But, the For Reich politicians won't lift a finger to help others.

They need to be put out to pasture - sue them for mismanagement of tax monies & keep them from getting any government jobs.

At least, until they actually bring their voters some kind of real help...

My little son, Hamoud, only 17 months old, doesn't understand why he can’t play anymore. He doesn’t know why everything around him is wet and cold. How can I explain to him that we’ve lost everything? How can I tell him that the world, which should have provided him safety, has abandoned us?

I write to you today, holding onto a small thread of hope, praying that you can be our support. We desperately need your help. Our lives are at risk, and our children are in danger. Your donation could save their lives, could restore our belief that someone still hears our cries. You are the lifeline we are waiting for.
