I was reading your post about the gaps in what we know about Rose Quartz/Pink Diamond because we're always seeing her from others' perspectives, she's dead by the time of the narrative and so we can never know who she was. It made me think about Agnes Montague, the absent messiah, who is described by so many characters but whose words we never get to hear.

The final new character of v2.1 is revealed and it's Gallagher, our first playable member of Penacony's Family!

Though unorganized in apparel and casual in how he makes his drinks, he is always courteous toward guests but keeps his vigilance about him. He seems to be a character with a complicated past, yet never actively mentions any details.

Always happy to see more Abundance characters, and I actually might be able to make a mono-Fire comp once this guy rolls around. Glad he's only a 4!

Snow and taxis

I must vent.

The weather tonight was brutal, blizzarding all over the everything, lightning bangers followed by thunder boomers 1 second later, snow covering the landscape in big wet clods.

I opted to call a taxi to get home warm and dry, instead of standing outside waiting for buses.

This proved to be an error.

The taxi dispatcher had told me it'd be about 15-20 minutes til it arrived, and they'd call me when it did. (Firstly, this is the first time in 9 years I have requested they call me upon arrival, and the first time in 9 years that I received no call at all.) At the 20 minute mark I went outside, having set the work alarm and locking the door, securing the key.

Immediately the taxi driver drove past me, ignoring all flailing attempts at getting his attention.

I thought, "Well maybe that wasn't the taxi assigned to me. I'll wait." And wait I did, for another 20 minutes. We're at 40 minutes now since I called for a taxi, people. So I call back, and they're like, "Oh oops, it looks like maybe someone else took your taxi." You mean the one that drove past me, the only person outside, who was waving to get the attention of the taxi that I called, standing under those bright-ass LEDs, outside the address to which I called it? A stranger took my taxi? Are you sure?

They promised to send another taxi. I stood outside my workplace in the blowing, wet snow, for a grand total of 40 minutes. And friends, it sucked and blowed.

So, a full hour after I called initially, another taxi arrived.

Bringing me home at exactly the same time as if I'd taken the buses, just as cold and wet as if I'd taken the buses, and $14 poorer.
