How do Amara and Evan feel about being the WoL in their respective WoL verses?

Evan kind of stumbled into things and never really saw them going the way they did. She's in it purely for the adventure of everything and to witness cool things other people don't get to. Sometimes the entire thing feels a little constraining to her, but she's happy to be able to help people, even if doesn't necessarily view it as something she has to do. idk. She honestly kind of views it in a very spiderman like way. She has a lot of power and a lot of responsibility to the world. Sometimes it sucks since she can't save everyone and she has to live with that. She just kind of accepts the good and the bad of it all. Evan's come to terms with the fact that she'll never get a break and will probably die doing something heroic and there isn't much she can do to change things. She's content to go with the flow and see where life takes her. Being WoL is very fulfilling to her, even if she does feel like she's more emotionally distanced from those she cares about because of it. Evan doesn't like to burden people, and even though she's more in touch with herself emotionally, she does tend to keep that stuff to herself. And, to be fair, no one really asks her either.

Amara tends to lean towards being resentful of the responsibility and all the weight that gets put on her shoulders. Originally, she definitely leaned into it because it was getting her money, fame, fortune. Then shit started going downhill with the faux assassination and just kept getting worse between people she cared for dying and the increasing amount of pressure on her shoulders. Now, she's kind of stuck in this weird place where she's a hero but doesn't really want it because she doesn't feel like everyone deserves to be saved. Endwalker kind of forced her to accept the intellectual fallacies of her logic given how high the stakes were. (Which is her fascination with Amon explained to some degree.) It also solidified that she - as warrior of light - is bordering on primal status and that could be tipped over the edge one day. Which is frightening to her. She likes the idea of that power but… Ultimately she's stuck walking in Azem's shadow and she hates it. She always wanted to be free of one cast from her family or brother and now she's stuck with a bigger and more grandiose one. Her hatred is offset by her fascination though.

6.4 Things. Mostly Character ramblings for pandae for Evan & Amara

Rhea didn't like Lahabrea back when she was Azem because she's essentially very similar to him in how she draws conclusions and then cannot be moved from them. However, her logic was usually different than his and so the two tended to be on opposing sides a lot.

Hemera didn't have much of an opinion, but she's the opposite side of the coin. She's far too whimsical and acts off emotion and gut instinct to appreciate the man's more logic rationales.

Amara spends the entire time bristling because Lahabrea & Erich's relationship reminds her of the one she has with her mother. Her mother's personality is very similar to Laha's. (Which I've said since I started writing her here that her mother is extremely emotionally distant.)

Evan had a good time fighting all the things as she usually does because she's also somewhat combat-sexual at times. However, fighting with Elidibus was more like a reunion between two dear friends (or more for my ship with seatedsacrifice) than an actual fight TM.

Amara was definitely caught off guard by a lot of it. Not the fights but witnessing the family problems and solutions that reminded her eerily of her own. Then the re-made Elidibus/Themis really caught her off guard. Because if there's one thing to know about Amara is if you compliment her in a genuine way she will become putty in your hands.

Evan is kind of unhappy with how things went in the MSQ. On one hand, another big bad to fight, on the other hand she feels as though this could have been handled a lot better? Also poor Azhdaja(sp?) and Vrtra :(

Amara is just pissed because she was supposed to be on vacation enjoying her island sanctuary when SOMEONE had to go poking into places and things they shouldn't.

I'm still trying to suss out how - despite the fact there was only one Zodiark who had bits cut off of him to put in the reflections (not the entire thing) - they made a dragon zodiark. From the bits. :thinking:

what does your muse's bedroom look like? is it cluttered or clean? do they use the overhead lighting, or use lamps and other things to provide a better ambience? do they make their bed every morning or leave it unmade?

Soo depending on the character...

Amara is extremely neat. She has a lot of things - a lot of high quality fine things - but they all have a place. Her house tends to both feel barely lived in but also yet very personalized. She really enjoys creating moods so she's comfy when she's home. Her bedroom is a more sensual place with candles. Her kitchen is super organized and has overhead lighting. Amara has a lot of plants.

Evan is a chaotic and organized mess. Her place has things scattered about everywhere but she can usually find everything she needs. She's not a woman who keeps an organized pantry or separates her knives and forks in the drawer. She has a lot of fish tanks in her basement to keep the rare fishes she catches. There are portraits and sketches she's done strewn up on the walls. Her house is primarily green and she probably painted a mural in her bedroom.

Ardbert likely has/would have a cleanish place. He puts things roughly back where they should go. He likes wood and metal. Skylights. He isn't there as often as he likes which is also why it's fairly clean as he's generally disorganized.

WHAT SOFT ROMANCE CLICHÉ ARE YOU?

the almost kiss

you're unsure about things, always hesitating. why is that? maybe there's something to lose for you, but maybe (just maybe) the risk is worth it. you're the moment when the main characters lean in, lips parted and almost touching. but it's not the actual kiss everyone loves, it's the anticipation. when they look into each other's eyes before their lids flutter close. and there's a lot of frustration when things are interrupted. trust me though, you're a lot more memorable than the actual kiss. you're nervous, but at the end of the day all you want is to be loved.

because i love you!

passionate; you are the heated moment of an argument. when the person you care for has done something outrageously stupid or dangerous. all of your pent up emotions that you've kept inside of you come bursting out: "beCAUSE I LOVE YOU!" how could they be so dense. how could YOU be so dense. you've loved each other this whole time. your love tends to be strong, and loud. sometimes it might be hard for you to express your feelings but you let people know that they are cared for. you're also hot. good for you.

Just wanna say while I remember that the english VA for Benedikta is 100% how I imagine Amara sounds. Think the accent is similar enough too for what they’ve decided on for Ul’Dah and Ala Mhigo.

Would they date a fixer-upper? [All!]

Evan - Yes. Like her first headcanon ship I have for her is with a Foulques. So she definitely doesn't shy away from the type. She's just picky about what she'll accept from a partner in terms of treatment. Someone can be a bit of a mess as long as they treat her halfway decently and take care of themselves.

Amara - Yeeep. Pretty much the same as Evan. Although a lot of her ships thumb jerk at Amon/Fandaniel would probably fall under that category. She loves to have someone as messy and dramatic as her. She kind of thrives and feeds off the drama and passion.

Ardbert - Probably. More susceptible than the others.

Y'Shtola - No. She has the same standards in a partner that she has of herself.

Venat & Zero - both don't really date. I'll see how Zero develops as I play them but /shrug emoji

Kalli - Yes, with limitations.

When the return spell completes, where does Amara return to? Why this place? Over time has the return point ever changed?

Generally, Ul'Dah, which is her home. Like I imagine realistically her return point is set to her home in the Goblet and she goes back there whenever she can. She's pretty fond of Ul'Dah despite its failings. It was where she was born and raised so she's fairly biased. Which is also why she's part of the Immortal Flames.

Obviously, she didn't always own her own home. Though at least through ARR her return point was Ul'Dah proper. Then that whole thing with accusations of regicide happened and well... It shifted then to Ishgard since that's where they were staying and it became home #2. Even if she still doesn't tolerate cold well.

After that it went back to being her home and has stayed there for the most part.

Exceptions being in her WoL-verse it switched to the Crystarium during Shadowbringers since she was spending most of her time there. Then it went back to that after.

Amara is VERY down but only in the bedroom. That one is very much a bratty bottom and occasional dom. Ardbert would warm up to it but I don't think he'd be super good at it. I view him as very switch-y most of the time. He can be very dominant but he's also very goofy and silly sometimes and enjoys having fun. Evan I'm not fully sure about, as she's never been in that situation/had anyone propose it. She's more naturally submissive though and tends to naturally let her partners decide things unless it's something she has a strong opinion about.

They'd be down and okay with it if they got to sleep with other people. Not so much about sharing their partners though asdjhasd

Amara & Ceres are both insanely jealous. Like, they are very toxic (and dangerous) and can get away with it to some degree because of how their world systems work. Ceres knows that it isn't normal in their society to feel that way, but she can't imagine sharing Amon with anyone.

That being said they both can be attracted to or love other people at the same time so (in general), they're the partner who would do what they're afraid of happening to them, and likely where that insecurity stems from. (Aka they could fall in love/crush on a swapped partner whereas they know the likeliness of that happening in reverse is unlikely) Each version is very selfish in this way and why they'd probably not open the relationship in that manner for the sake of fairness.

After reading a meme it's occurred to me Amara is the girlfriend who will 100% get mad if you watch a show without her if you started it together in modern settings.

the protective one

it does not require much for you to take someone under your wing. you have a knack for seeing the best in others and rooting for them, and they look up to you in turn. they feel that you are safe to go to in times of chaos or strife, and are calmed by your presence. you take extra measures to make sure everyone feels supported. things that others might not even consider, you have already likely accounted for. in most scenarios, you are "the leader." your struggles tend to come from your desire to provide things to others. you want to give, to see those you love happy, to make wherever you are a place of comfort. your failures hit you hard because you see this as your responsibility, and you hate to let people down. ...okay, yes, there's no avoiding it: this is the parent friend.

the heart full of faith

at some point in your life, you've probably been told you're "the glue" keeping a certain group of people together. you look on the bright side of things. you are able to convince someone that everything will be alright. your (found) family walks away from you feeling strengthened by your faith and--let's face it--wisdom. hopefully, you aren't being taken for granted in this. keeping morale up comes naturally to you. you probably do plenty without even realizing it. you're a good listener, thoughtful, kind. even leaders come to you for guidance. you may or may not be keen on being in charge yourself, but you are trustworthy, and you do right by the people who depend on you. the only person you can't always see clearly is yourself. it's easy to tell someone their potential but incredibly difficult to realize your own. you need the support of others just as much as they need you--but once you're put to the test, you'll realize you had the right stuff in you all along.

Yes, not that she'd ever care to admit it :v She's got a few of them but her favorite is a stuffed bear with a red ribbon. It may or may not have a name. She's also got a toy coeurl, Fuath, and a few others. Though the bear is the one who gets her bed space.

14. Would they agree with the term ‘guilty pleasure’? Do they have any?

Amara has mixed feelings about it honestly since it shouldn't be 'guilty' to some extent. Though in Cyberpunk AU she has a love of pop music & other hits of the day. Despite also enjoying the type of music Ophi plays on the piano for her :3c

22. Do they like being called pet names? Do they call other people pet names? What’s their go-to?

To some degree. It's also kind of partner dependent because being called my love or something from a partner who doesn't use pet names for other people much would mean more to her than hearing it from someone who uses them loosely. Generally she prefers "Mara" or something more specific but she doesn't care to make a fuss either way. She enjoys the sentimentality. Annnd she does sometimes? Usually she just shortens their name/calls them 'my love'/ but I do imagine her being partial to bird related nicknames for her partners.

30. What would they do if they knew it would be forgiven?

Murder, mostly. On the 'bad' spectrum Amara kind of leans towards violence because it's easier for her and she can mostly turn that side of her brain off. She recognizes it's not a good thing but kind of rolls with it anyway because it gets stuff done.

Since that one post is floating around about multi-classing i’ma go ahead and say Amara’s magic definitely leaks into all her classes, particularly dancer and dark knight (which both kinda have magic anyway).
