The Devils were originally a small collection of adventurers with several Tiefling members. Eventually recruiting more and more Tieflings, to the point that not only did the group quickly live up to their namesake, they eventually became their own guild. Making their home in Greystone Keep.

Verdant Wilde - An original member of the group that eventually became the Devils. A green Tiefling, Beastmaster Ranger. Trained by former Vox Mochina member, Vex'ahlia DeRollo.

Omega - Another original member of the Devils. A purple Tiefling Warlock who for years l, was part of a traveling circus. He delights in two things. Entertaining crowds, and seducing women ... much to the chagrin of his succubus patron.

Jean Ironwood - Human Fighter/Gunslinger. She has a hatred for dragons, after losing her left arm to a Green Dragon. Her metal prosthetic was made by Percival DeRollo, who also taught her how to use and build firearms.

Kyrie - Astral Self Monk. She belonged to the same traveling circus as Omega. A former slave before then, she has spectral prosthetic arms.

Scourge Maelstrom - A swashbuckling Storm Cleric, and the first person the Devils recruited. The blue skinned Tiefling would eventually be voted unanimously as the leader of the group, and guild.

Varris - Light Domain Cleric. An undying Tiefling with a nigh impossible task thrust upon him by Serrenrae herself.

Aquamarine/Aqua - A sky blue Tiefling. The youngest and second recruit of the Devils. She has a knack for getting into places that she shouldn't.

Gamora - An Orc Barbarian, and original member of the Devils. She is the living definition of "Death By Snu-Snu".

Thorne - Omega's brother. A Drunken Fist Monk, and final recruit of the Devils before expanding into the guild they are today.

Nadûr - A half-orc Fighter/Barbarian with a southern/deep Texas/ranch drawl. Fury on the battlefield, but a total teddy bear to the next person listed.

Korrin - Vampire Evocation Wizard. Nadûr's lover.

They were standing on the same side of Cash’s mahogany desk. He leaned over the contract, bracing both hands on the edge. Windows broke open the walls on two sides of the room. The afternoon California sun blazed in, glaring on the scarlet design of the Oriental rug covering most of the floor. Cash’s enormous diploma from Yale Law School hung above the couches at the back end of the office.

Dark bookcases packed with leather-bound books lined the other two walls. The books were mostly for show because the law firm had done all their research via LexisNexis for years, but Rox had caught Cash reading the hard copies late at night sometimes, rubbing his eyes.

He ran his hand through his hair, a sign that he was perilously close to losing his cool. She’d only seen him do that a few times, once when a Taiwanese film director had insisted that Cash play golf with him. Cash had appeared to be in good humor and had shot a perfectly respectable ninety-two, but he had returned to their hotel and ranted about The Damned Scottish Game for half an hour. Rox had laughed at his tantrum until he started chuckling about how his ball had gone into the water three times on the seventh hole.

Rox flapped her hands at her sides, narrowly missing Cash’s broad shoulder. “I cannot believe that he would even try such a dick move. That’s why I put a red flag sticky on it, so you would see that part first. Does he think we’re redneck idiots?” She emphasized redneck with her Southern accent to camp it up.

Cash scowled. “He must think we’re idiots. He must think we’re all idiots, every one of us, if he thought no one here would catch this.” Cash’s upper-crust British accent made them sound like the King of England conversing with a redneck colonist.

When Cash got all heated up like this, he literally got hot under the collar, and the subtle cologne that he wore—sandalwood and cinnamon and vanilla—crept out of his sharp designer suit and crisp white shirt. She tried not to lean in to catch a whiff, but she could just smell it when he was having a good rant. She could almost taste the vanilla on her tongue, as if she had her mouth pressed to his neck.”

Review

(audiobook) I don’t care much about doing things in order if I can. I’m rebellious like that. So after enjoying Arthur’s story in Stiff drink and Hard liquor, I came back to the beginning of the series and listened to Working stiff, Casimir’s story. And what a story!

This book is packed high with everything--it’s a billionaire romance + royal romance + office romance + romantic suspense, with a lot of pining, a lot of steam and even a touch of BDSM. A little something for everyone to enjoy!

I found the same problem as the other books: some things are repeated several times and it becomes annoying.

As for the narration, it was very good! First work I’ve listened to from a high profile of the narrating world, and I became an addict. Although it’s a long book--about 12 hours--I couldn’t stop listening and finished the book in less than 24 hours. I only had one problem--but it’s my fault--with the female character’s southern accent. When she speaks fast, I sometimes had trouble understanding what she said. To my defense, I’m not a native speaker.

I highly recommend the series, especially this book! You won’t get bored.
