They all play different roles, but I think I need to update Kirschtaria’s sheet soon because that was an outdated and messy concept from 2021– though I already posted illustrations of him here before ^_^

Ophelia needed a knight, but she became one herself. Surtr’s affection for her made him gift her Laeveteinn, making her its new keeper, and Sinmara was summoned “within” her as a resulr.

Pepe-san’s design is my most recent work out of these three :) Their class betrays their manifestation as they essentially break their oath that this would be their final life. The patron god of Shugendo, Zao Gongen, is the avatar of three Shinto interpretation of Buddhist deities

I hope to keep making Crypter fanservants because I miss them every day. I don’t want Kirschtaria to be alone :’)

Are you hyped to see Pepe in Case Files? Do you think Sanda will do him justice?

This one evidently missed its timing but I can still talk about Pepe. FGO's visual presentation is limiting especially for the Crypters, so having any of them in a more descriptive space is automatically a plus. It's sad to get confirmation that Pepe doesn't walk like Inspector Cabanella, but at least he does it once to clear the mountain's Bounded Field. He also uses the Kumbhira Sutra as his magecraft chant, which as fascinating choice, but this should be its own post instead of taking over here as a tangent that takes more space than the actual answer.

Anyway, Pepe is not a normal El-Melloi guest. The afterword explains that he was requested by Nasu and I think the difference is tangible. Pepe is part of this plot because Barbud and Avidya are the people who took him out of his edgelord phase. Guests rarely get this big of an emotional investment because they're characters with complete stories that Sanda plucks and throws into different context. But Pepe seems to be a character Nasu created to be completed in the El-Melloi series. His background has major blanks, now revealed to have been reserved for Sanda to fill. This story is allowed to matter immensely to his life.

Crypter queer headcanons (and some just facts)that nobody asked for;

Kirschtaria is bisexual he literally has a boyfriend, Caeneus. Caeneus is also a trans guy. I’ll sip this cold take forever I love it. I think he loves as easily as the wind blows. Tender and full force. (Waxing poetic about KiriCae I guess)

Ophelia is ALSO bisexual because she probably has a thing for Mash and Kirschtaria. Good for her 😌 She’s got that queer childhood trauma written all over her.

Akuta is straight to me. It’s ok she can love her man these things happen!!

Pepe…like do I even need to mention? It’s not even a headcanon that they’re gender fluid and queer. I believe they like men and lean in the he/they territory. Hell He/they/she because he counts himself in girl talk. Canonically is into Daybit. Pepe canonically wants that rainbow connection ok fellas MOVING ON

Beryl…..see like I’m stuck between Beryl thinking hole is hole or he’s just straight. We know he’s transphobic! Doesn’t respect Cae whatsoever. I think Beryl has the capacity, but it’s not his inclination to be queer.

Daybit is on the ace spectrum for sure because narratively this makes sense. I’m not sure if romantic or sexual desire crosses his mind like at all. Though if it did, I doubt gender would matter. There are things to be said about his relationship to Pepe and Tezcalipoca and I see what y’all mean but I’m not 100% on board. They have a point is all I feel confident in saying. Daybit’s lore can be interpreted as a queer allegory or a neurodiverse allegory.

If Kadoc isn’t bisexual don’t talk to me don’t look at me. You see, he and Anastasia were in love. This is easy to interpret and something I’m for. Why is he bisexual? Bro dresses very queer like he looks queer coded to me. He’s got that gay bitch with anxiety aura about him. If he doesn’t like men I stg. There’s no way he doesn’t. There’s just no way. Wanna know why?
