Truecaller introduces an AI-powered assistant to detect fraud and scam calls
Tumblr media
Truecaller, the world's leading global communications platform, has launched Truecaller Assistant in Australia. The Assistant function is a breakthrough that uses machine learning to provide the most helpful scam or fraud call detection and call-screening solution on the market. Truecaller Assistant is a configurable, interactive digital receptionist that enables users to respond to important calls while avoiding fraudulent or spam calls.
Truecaller Assistant responds in less than a second and understands caller requests with greater than 90% accuracy. You may watch a live transcription of what the scam or spam caller is saying so you can figure out who they are and why they are calling. With a single button press, you may select whether to take over the spam or fraudulent call, designate it as a scam or spam, or ask the caller for more information.
The AI tool does so much more than simply block scammers. Truecaller Assistant is a game changer for the global market. Until now, you had to decide whether or not a call was important or if it was spam or fraud in a split second. Now, Assistant concentrates on what the caller is saying to filter out scams and spam, so you can decide whether the call is worthwhile.
Truecaller Assistant is free for 14 days, after which users can add it to Truecaller Premium. The service is being introduced in stages in Australia today, with more markets and languages to follow soon to reduce scam or fraud call activities. Assistant makes use of technology that other solutions do not, making it clear which calls you should respond to and which fraud or spam calls you should ignore.

Prompt: Assumed dead
Companion piece to Still Alive that I wrote like a year ago x3
------
Kouichi’s phone was quiet. He stared at it, still waited. It had been quiet for so long now.
Well, not completely quiet. Most of the digigang wrote daily in the groupchat, his workmates were messaging him, he got scamcallers at least twice a week.
But Kouji had been gone for two months and Kouichi hadn’t gotten even one message from him. Not a postcard, no letters, no phonecalls and no messages. It wasn’t completely unheard of, but usually Kouji would call every other day to let him know what he was up to. Even if it was just eating a donut in New York. Kouichi really didn’t want to assume the worst, but he was getting more and more worried with every day.
-------
Three months and it was still quiet. He sent a text to Takuya to ask if he knew anything, but no luck. It was the same story as when Kouji had first disappeared. He snuck away in the middle of the night while Takuya was asleep. The others in the digigang were also getting worried. Kouichi sent a text to Kouji.
”Hey. How’s it going? Seen any cool animals?”
He didn’t get an answer.
-------
Six months. Kouichi’s fear of the worst was overwhelming. Kouji never went that long without sending something Kouichi’s way. Whenever Kouichi tried calling it went straight to voicemail. A robotic voice telling him to leave a message after the beep. Kouji never made a personalized message and Kouichi had no way of knowing if it was still Kouji’s number.
He didn’t want to say it out loud though. Didn’t want to put words to his worry. Because that would make it real.
-------
It had been a year. Kouichi had stopped responding in the groupchat. Kouji was gone. There was no longer any doubt about it. Something must have happened while he was out. Alone. No one there to know what had happened, who could let his family and friends know.
Kouji had always liked his solitude and for the first time ever Kouichi was angry at him for that. For leaving him. For leaving him without any way to know what had happened. Kouichi’s eyes burned. He clenched his hands, grabbed his coat.
Life went on. He still had to go to work. He took a shaky breath and opened the door. He would grieve later.
-------
Later… never really happened. There was always work. The grief had to be pushed back, constantly pressing in Kouichi’s mind, but never allowed to show. Eating was hard. Sleep was plagued by nightmares.
”You know we’re always here for you”, Izumi wrote in the chat.
Kouichi didn’t answer. He put the phone on his desk and sat down to prepare for tomorrow’s work.
-------
Three years. Alone. Life felt empty, something important missing from it. It had been so long since he felt like that. How did he deal with that pain when he was young? When it was just he and his mother and he didn’t even know what was missing, just that something was?
Kouichi’s phone beeped. Another message in the groupchat that he wasn’t keeping up with. He glanced at it.
”Landing at the trainstation in 3 hours if anyone wanna meet up.”
Kouichi stared at the message. At Kouji’s number. Kouji’s picture. Was he dreaming? His breathing picked up. What was going on? No one wrote anything, no one answered. Kouichi didn’t know what to type. It couldn’t be real. Three years without a word. His phone rang.
”What do you think?” Izumi asked.
She didn’t even say hello. They hadn’t spoken a word to each other for two years. Kouichi swallowed. His hands shook. He didn’t know.
He made a decision.
”I’m going there.”
”I knew you would.”
He could hear her smile through the phone, could hear the tears she barely held back. Kouichi felt his own eyes tear up.
Three years of silence and then just a casual ’coming soon’. He’d punch Kouji’s lights out, if it really was him.
”I’m calling the others”, Izumi said. ”Closing the restaurant. Take him here and we’ll have the good bye-party we should have had three years ago.”
Kouichi took a shaky breath. Nodded and closed his eyes.
”We’ll be there.”
He ended the phonecall, stood up and started heading to the train station.

Spoofing numbers, what is that? I just called back the number at the top of my recents list here and the guy who answered it said it wasn't him and somebody must be spoofing numbers, When I asked what that was, I've never heard of it before, he says somebody is taking his number and using it from another site. What would the reason for this be? I don't get it. #spoofingnumbers #scamcallers #spamcalls #spytech (at San Diego, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bz3tUaKnv1N/?igshid=vpwb0o6t5rav

Got another call from a scammer (Sutton Hotel Contest). Caller ID said Ben Moss Jewelry. This is their fax number. Contacted the store to let them know. They will be contacting head office tomorrow, as their number was obviously spoofed. #scamcallers
